Fantastic experience: The atmosphere at the club house is really good and they have three courses for varying ability, obviously the championship course is a good experience, whereas the headland course is ok but not as varied regarding the terrain

Fantastic experience: My husband and I popped in here for some lunch after a long walk. We were made to feel very welcome even though we were not members of the golf club. They had a decent veggie burger and the beer was lovely too. The view on the terrace was stunning!

Fantastic experience: Down here for an interclub match. Stunning course & club dinner to follow with great hospitality from the members and service from staff. Cottage was great to stay in during our 3 day trip.

Negative experience: Me and the wife Called in after a walk for a drink.. Because we were clearly not golfers the bars staff totally ignored us and didn't make eye contact. We were stood at the bar for a while until we were acknowledged by the staff doing naff all. Full of snobs and £19 for a pint and a small wine. Won't be going again

With the Championship Course right outside our door and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, it was pure peace and beauty from sunrise to sunset. The pool and tennis court was absolute fun. Food is the great, Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: 4 of us had a wonderful golfers breakfast (our 34 year Wedding Anniversary..accompanied by our son and his partner). Great views over the golf course and sea. The food was so tasty and good produce used. The staff were exceptional…as always. This is must try for anyone in the area, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Fantastic experience: Stunning location and I see the golf maintenance team out early in the morning keeping the golf course in tip top condition. Although we've been staying in this area for 15 years or more it was our first meal at Trevose Club House today. It was one of the best meals I've had whilst staying in Cornwall. Everything about the food and location is of a high quality and I look forward to going back.

Fantastic experience: A golfers paradise. We are on a Cornwall golf tour, and so very pleased we added Trevose to the list. It is a stunning course worthy of its placement in the top 100. Immaculate club house with great service and food. Large pro shop for all your golfing needs, all staff were brilliant.

Fantastic experience: Trevose is a truly World class golf venue. The course is amongst the best I have played. The views are incredible, the rooms are also lovely. The restaurant is also in a league of its own, again lovely views out to sea and the food was very good too. Thanks Trevose, we will be back.

Fantastic experience: Recently played a tournament at Trevose, fantastic golf course. Greens were as good as I've played on, running perfectly true and firm. I stayed off site but did eat there and the food is delicious and the views overlooking the course and sea are spectacular. Would love to return there one day.

Fantastic experience: This has been one of the best days of my golfing career and I have played some of the worlds best. I cannot recommend playing and experiencing Trevose enough. We are back on Thursday and I am so excited. The staff in the pro shop, the staff in the bar/restaurant have all been phenomenal. NOW - the breakfast bap (served before midday) is up there with the best I have ever had. This golf experience is for the purists. If you are after American wide fairways easy golf then jog on. If you want a good test of golf with excellent fairways and greens this is your place. You either need to bring your wind game or will learn one very quickly.

Negative experience: We popped in for lunch as we often do when we stay in Cornwall. We was very disappointed today as the service on serving the food. Firstly the incorrect food came for two of us? No apology but after waiting 40 minutes for the wrong food we waited another 20 minutes, so one of our party had eaten theirs before we got ours. Again no apology, the presentation of the Peri Peri chicken was very poor although it did taste nice.

Positive experience: Great quality crab sandwiches and amazing views over the course towards Trevose head and Mother Ivey’s Bay Park.

Positive experience: Testing course with wonderful views and in pretty good condition despite the season. Clubhouse pleasant and welcoming with good choice of beers and good food

Fantastic experience: Trevose Golf Club is a stunning course, the best I've played in Cornwall! We managed to squeeze in 18 holes on an autumn afternoon, and it was sensational. The course conditions were excellent, with firm, well-maintained greens. The layout is challenging but still fun... It helped I was striking the ball great and avoided trying out too many off the never ending bunkers! The sun popped out on through the 10th hole which was my favourite, hitting down the hill towards 2 picturesque stone bridges. The views are spectacular too, looking out over the bay through he font 9. Staff were friendly and helpful and a pint of Guinness was much enjoyed in the welcoming club house. Overall, a top-notch golfing that I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a round in beautiful surroundings. I'll be back

Negative experience: Disappointing. Turned up at the tee ten minutes early, as asked, only to find that that the pro shop had slotted a foursomes in between us and the people ahead of us, so our 8-minutes between groups was halved. The starter acknowledged that this was a bit off but seemed to think it was okay to laugh it off. It wasn’t. We had a slow round with lots of waiting. Very frustrating. And the halfway house announced that they stopped doing hot food at 12 even though they’re open til one. Overall, arrogant, snobby service and not worth the money. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: World class experience, unbelievable links course, very tough, and expect some wind. Villa's are lovely and amazing views. Great staff, very friendly. Price for 3 larger and a Guinness was £22.85 so not bad for a luxury venue.

On another note, what a lovely location to enjoy a meal with a stunning view in a beautiful environment… Think this is a forgotten or unknown gem in and around Padstow… every beach you go to and the cafes / coffee shops are packed… Enjoyed a round and the standard drink afterwards at the club house… then decided to return the following morning and enjoy a great well priced breakfast with a wonderful view… Staff were politely, food was good overall cant fault Highly recommend Thank you, Alex & Charlie,

Fantastic experience: The course superb half way house a very nice touch not available of other courses. In spite of a few other reviews criticising the golf shop staff we found the opposite . We had one player couldn’t join and they offered a credit but when I advised I couldn’t use the voucher within the time frame the pro shop chap followed me out and said he had moved the unused green fee to the pro shop for us to spend . Exceptional . Everything else perfect but yes the green fees are at the higher end but this is the best course in Cornwall so who cares . We’re not here for a long time …….!!! Etc etc

Fantastic experience: Stunning golf course, with many challenging holes and not a weak hole on the course. Staff in the professional's shop and clubhouse were very friendly and efficient. On the surface it might seem expensive, but it's a treat worth paying for!

Positive experience: Only visited to play padel tennis but the facilities look good

Negative experience: Food was ok but hate the way they add ‘service charge’ without asking as I should decide on tips as the meals were expensive anyway! £17.50 for a fish and chips.

Positive experience: For anyone who loves playing golf or walking their dogs this is a perfect place to go. The friendliness of the staff and quality of the food is superb.

Negative experience: First of all can I say this is a lovely looking course, I have wanted to play it for a few years so took the plunge with my friend and parted with the £160 green fee for our 2 ball, turned up with huge expectations of enjoying a fantastic golfing experience but we were told that they expect us to take no longer than 3 hours to complete our 18 holes and this would be monitored by marshals, felt totally rushed and it killed the whole thing

Fantastic experience: Great course, just perfect to sit on the terrace and have a few beers in the sunshine looking over the course and out to sea.

Negative experience: I am commenting only about the restaurant. This is not "fine dining" unless you include fish and chips and burgers. We had crab linguine that contained an almost undetectable amount of crab and 5 small cockles. There was no sauce and the only flavour was from a few parmesan shavings, otherwise it was utterly tasteless. Way below par. They need to up their game

Negative experience: The kitchen was obviously very busy with sandwiches and pizza orders on a Sunday lunch .. our order was lost so nearly 2 hours later we got our food and a free pizza. Nice touch from the manager .. however the potty mouth language from a number of well to do gents in front of my 7 yr old was inexcusable.. entitlement .. lack of respect and complete ignorance rules this club I'm sorry to o say

Negative experience: This review is NOT based on the overall Trevose experience - purely the restaurant. During dinner last night we had to return 3 out of 5 main courses - very over cooked steak and overcooked/bland sea food pasta. What a shame as the prices indicate something far more special. We were also informed that the chef was not happy with our reaction - oh well!! The restaurant used to be so special with excellent food / I will say the service from Ian is ALWAYS exceptional.

Positive experience: Don't play golf but the clubhouse and terrace are very nice with great views over the course and further afield towards the coastline. Open to non members - food on offer was good.

Positive experience: I’m not a golfer, but this is a lovely place to visit for a drink when you’re in the area. My partner and I are obsessed with it because the views are spectacular from the bar, either indoors or outdoors. It’s one of the best places to catch the sunset. The drinks are great, the staff are really nice and it has free Wifi which is handy considering the poor coverage in the area. The restaurant isn’t amazing from experience but it’s nice enough. That’s not really why we go there though and have only eaten there twice. There are nicer places to eat within 10/15 minutes drive. Nevertheless we’re very fond of the golf club and go there most nights when we’re staying in Treyarnon.

Positive experience: Apartments brilliant! Restaurant ok 3 of our party of 4 happy with their choice but I was not impressed with the fish and chips. Also very noisy as we had a party of a few adults and many kids on the next table!! With hindsight we should have asked to be moved - but perhaps the management should have given some thought to where to seat such parties. Bar ok although they ran out of decaf coffee and later ran out of espresso Martini. Staff friendly but some could have had a bit more "get up and go". Golf was fantastic - great course, obviously very dry but greens were good. Only 3 nights but we've already booked to go back next year.

Negative experience: Brilliant golf course and facilities, but bar and restaurant has disappointed in recent times. Considering the clientale using the club food quality and service should be much better.

Positive experience: Fab course, well presented and good layout. Some seriously tough holes, especially in a 45mph gusting wind. Staff in the bar were a bit overwhelmed with a huge corporate golf event, but recovered when the golfers left the bar to play.

Positive experience: Lovely course. Incredibly hard to judge yardage when the wind is blowing. The best holes are the front 5 toward the sea.

Fantastic experience: This is not placed un the UK top 100 without good reason. Exelent condition course with stunning views to boot. The club house, Pro shop and locker rooms are all high quality even the courtyard is a spotless. The course itself is excellent, definitely my favourite Cornish links of the half dozen I have played so far. On a relatively calm day the course requires thoughtful play with bunkers everywhere and fast multi-tiered greens ready to ruin your score. But on a windy day I should think it would easily frustrate the average golfer. Finally I have to mention the driving range which unfortunately is not up to the standard of the rest of the venue. There are no distance markers on yhe range and no rubber tees on the mats so you must use your own.. which if they spring forward after a short you must say good bye to or risk entering the line of fire to retrieve them. Also the range is about 400 yards down the raod and downhill from the 1st tee so be sure to leave time to get back and recover if you are warming up! Fairly pricy at £85 but worth it.

Fantastic experience: Amazing top notch links golf course that would challenge even the lowest handicap golfer. Spectacular views out over the Atlantic Ocean and over Trevose point. The restaurant and bar is superb, serving top quality food in the restaurant and always a warm welcome in the clubhouse bar..... one of our favourite places to eat when we visit Cornwall
