Positive experience: If only this Gym opened at 6am would be perfect and have a lot more custom !!!

Negative experience: Been using the gym around 2 weeks, had a guy shout across the gym calling me a ‘bench hogger’ and the shouting started while doing my warm up so was only on the bench around 5 minutes and he then proceeded to shout the same abuse TRYING to intimidate me, terrible atmosphere and gym etiquette, been training 15+ years and never experienced this, do not recommend

Negative experience: Very run down & neglected gym. Kinda looks like the set of an armageddon movie. Only went cos I'm not local & just need a place that does day membership but the gym is full of lads just having a social rather than working out. They cheer when a buddy arrives through the door then have a token gesture 10 reps with dumbbells every 30 mins. Meanwhile they're getting in the way of the few machines that aren't broken. Plates laid all over the floor making it hard to find what you need. It's literally impossible to just go in & do your own workout at this gym.

Fantastic experience: Staff are so friendly. Im an older overweight lady and I go here every week with my son. I can honestly say they have always made me feel very welcome. I dont feel out of place AT ALL. The gym has amazing facilities. So many machines to use. This place is just so good. I am so comfortable there now I am quite happy sitting doing everything i need to do on my own. I actually travel on 2 buses to get here and I just wont go to gyms closer. When u found your place you found your place. No need to look further.

Negative experience: I had to leave this gym completely. This gym is not what it used to be like when Charlie was in charge. If your bottle of water finishes you have to wait for someone behind the counter to get you tab water. One day there was no one apart from an old man who coaches boxing and he directly told me to get water from the toilet tap water when it clearly says "This is not a drinking water" I told him, but he didn't care as he knew what he was saying. That was the day I decided to leave.

Fantastic experience: I'm in town visiting family and they worked with me on a weekly rate since I am not 100% sure how often I'll be able to work out. Great selection of weights/kettle bells and not too busy during the mornings. If ever I come back I'll renew my membership. Great place. Thanks!

Negative experience: I don’t know where to start? Men at work USED to be one of the best hardcore bodybuilding gyms in Newcastle. Every time I am in Newcastle for work I would look forward to paying a visit here. WHAT has happened to this place??? I have trained here 4 times in the last 2 weeks & I was told on a visit by a member of staff that it’s under new management or something? All the old Familiar staff are gone.? I ask why they only had 2 rows of lights on at night as it was very dark and a member of staff informed me it was to save money? Yes It is summer & lighter nights but it was still very dark to a ridiculous amount. For years I trained off & on at men at work & to see what it is now. Is certainly not the same gym. All memberships have went up in price. It closes early now. It’s not 10pm like it says on Google. The large free weights area that was a big thing for me go in there is now 50% smaller due to a big room getting built across it. Definitely some good old style machines gone also. I also used to like the fight studio lots of heavy duty boxing bags. All them are gone now. I thought I would give it one last try early yesterday morning & to my utter astonishment I was turned away by bailiffs!! Yes bailiffs. I sent a message to their social media account with no reply. & seen that all they post about is revamp stage 1 revamp stage 2? I honestly don’t get it. This place has went backwards not forwards. New management / owner clearly has no clue how to run a gym & clearly experiencing a lot of issues. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Lost long time member. P.S I really didn’t want to leave a negative review. But this is clearly not the same gym that it used to once be.

Fantastic experience: Staff here are absolutely amazing & super helpful. Anything you need they’ll give to you and help you with. The gym facilities here are absolutely mint. Got everything you need to build muscle & plenty for cardio too

Negative experience: Joined at the start of the year - good gym with some good equipment, but as writing this (20.05.22), the price is increasing from £24.99 to £29.99!!! Ludicrous pricing! I'm assuming this has something to do with the sauna room etc, but it's is still old and dirty. You cannot ask for Premier pricing when the gym is sub par. I really liked this gym but will not be staying. Suggestion, how about charge £24.99 for the members who do not use the sauna etc. If I wanted sauna etc I would go to a different gym with better facilities. I liked this gym because it is not a poncey gym, people go there to work out. Lost a member.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for just over a year now so its been very much within the covid generation and just want to commend Danny and the team for their efforts on constant cleanliness and creating an inviting atmosphere... They work tirelessly to ensure members safety and that no one feels out of place, wouldn't go anywhere else!!

Fantastic experience: I have trained at this gym for over 8 years, and I find it a very hard gym to beat. It supports all of my training needs from cardio, to strength to boxing. Massive range of equipment and plenty of room inside. Very friendly and helpful staff that are always happy to help and offer advice. Top place to train, I highly recommend it. Shaun A.

Fantastic experience: Modern day gym with an old school lifting mentality. Staff are really helpful and the environment is amazing. The right equipment and weights for when i was bulking, but cant wait to start using the boxing ring and bags for when I start doing more cardio after December. Nothing like these budget gyms where every ones got a depressing attitude, or too busy taken selfies in the mirror after doing 1 set on biceps, or ' personal trainers ' who got a piece of paper from collage but havn't done a proper work out themselves.Walk into this gym everyone's pumped and ready to go regardless if its first thing in the morning or late in the evening. The best thing about this gym it that its mixed with professional body builders, retired, beginners or just people wanting to keep fit. Really recommend this gym to anyone who wants to better themselves. Also recommend the freshly made banana milk shakes, which they make right in front of you !!
