Family run business, all staff very welcoming and happy to help in any way. If using sat nav it may take you the other side of the community centre , that is no fault of the venue,its just 2 right turns from there if it does Its about 5-7 minutes fron J19 M6

Fantastic experience: I was there for a friend's'big' birthday. The staff were very attentive, friendly and professional. The venue has had an upgrade since I last visited (definitely since my own wedding reception there many years ago) and was perfect for the event. Several friends told me their entertainment shows/events are worth attending and fun. Large car park and on-road parking, easy to get to. The walk back to Altrincham town centre took 10-15 minutes along well lit roads.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous night at the Bowdon Rooms tonight, the Queen tribute band was excellent but also the DJ was fab as were the bar staff etc. Beautiful venue and a great place for a boogie!

Fantastic experience: A wonderful venue for all things 'Entertainment' which has been lovingly restored to all of its original charm by the owners. We went to dine with the actors performing 'Fawlty Towers' with Basil, Cybil and the hilarious Manuel! All providing an afternoon of wonderfully performed renditions of the hotels antics for our enjoyment whilst being served a 4 course meal whilst being set upon by these magnificent actors giving their everything with their takes on the infamous rat scenes, not to mention 'The Germany's! Having been to the Bowdoin Rooms when it was the Cinnamon it still holds its authenticity. The sprung dancefloor is a dream to dance on, well with a visit purely for this reason alone. I recommend the venue for all of the family, young and old. For sure me and my family will be visiting one of the many performances that are to take place in the coming months.

Fantastic experience: Had our wedding at the Bowdon rooms on 21st December 2024 , from the first contact we were extremely pleased, emmalee and her team made the planning stress free and enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble, the day its self was amazing, everything was perfect , from the staff to the food . I would definitely recommend the Bowdon rooms for a wedding

Fantastic experience: What a superb venue. We watched Everything Everything there. It was a fab evening! So unique! Two members of the band were interviewed by a Radio 6 presenter. It was really informal and so interesting. They played their guitars and sang a number of songs explaining their meaning and how they were produced plus chatted about their personal lives. I would definitely recommend going to one of these concerts! With parking, a bar and comfortable seats this Edwardian venue would be perfect for all occasions!

Positive experience: What a lovely venue in a nice area of Altrincham. I saw a question and answer gig here and it was set up lovely. The only minus was the small bar, which had a very long wait, staff were great, it was just the volume of people in short bursts, that was the problem.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful, elegant venue for a concert. My first time here. Civilized as can be. Lovely human check in at the door. Small bar with amazing staff in lobby. Seated event to see the incredible Chris Helme. Car park on premises. Very leafy and luxurious. Hope to return soon.

Fantastic experience: We held the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce 2024 Business Awards at The Bowdon Rooms. It was an amazing evening! The staff worked hard with us to ensure the night was a huge success. Their attention to detail and support was first class. James and Emmalee deserve a special mention for their patience and flexibility. The room looked spectacular and having the bar area for the champagne reception worked well Cant thank the Bowdon Rooms enough. Negative experience: Arrived at 6.50pm as ticket says 7pm. Told by reception that DJ on til 8pm then band would start. Seated ourselves at the front as we wanted to see the band only to have other tables put in front of as at 8pm. Band still not started at 8.30pm. On stage 8.40pm, No explanation, badly organised, no communication. Looks as though they oversubscribed, very disappointed and spoilt the night.

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed and angry about my experience at this prom venue. Despite paying for a ticket well in advance, I was denied entry on the night of the event. I did absolutely nothing wrong and was treated in a blatantly racist manner by the staff. When I arrived, I was excited to attend the prom like everyone else. However, the staff stopped me at the door and refused to let me in without providing any valid reason. It was clear from their behavior and tone that their actions were racially motivated. I felt humiliated and discriminated against, which is completely unacceptable. This venue clearly does not uphold any standards of equality or respect for all individuals. I would never recommend this place to anyone and strongly advise others to avoid it. This experience has left a bitter taste, and I hope the management takes serious steps to address and rectify such discriminatory practices.

Negative experience: awful, they were racist and not letting me enter even though i bought a ticket

Fantastic experience: Fantastic pub in a great location. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. And the service from the staff was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended if you visit the area.

Fantastic experience: We had the most perfect day, it was just over so quickly Honestly guys i cant even tell you how many comments we had on the room, we had a lot of comments saying that as soon as they walked in and saw the set up they were very emotional, so that was really nice and the effect we wanted, honestly it was beautiful. Helena was great, she not only coordinated everything perfectly, she also offered moral support (to mike, who was close to a nervous breakdown on the day with nerves lol) and she even laced up my dress, you dont get that everywhere lol, nothing was too much trouble, we honestly felt so comfortable. I honestly think the difference with you guys is we met you as a service provider but it honestly feels like you became our friends, you shared and encouraged (again, michael lol) our vision to enable us to have the most perfect day. We honestly cannot put into words how perfect it was and how much we appreciate you guys for all you did I can honestly say i wish you all to have the family, happiness and love myself and Michael have for each other, as with that you can take on the world Again, many thanks to allison, helena and all the team, you were honestly great x

Fantastic experience: I have been here many times before for tribute acts and shows so it seemed natural to use the venue for the launch of my book (#Womanhooded) It was very last minute as the edits were many and Helena the Events Manager came to the rescue and organised it so well. She even helper with packing goody bags on the evening as some guests arrived early! All hands appeared on deck to get the job done. Ed the sound and light Manager was calm under pressure and with about 10 mins to go he followed our directions to the letter so the music was seamless. Finally the venue looked magical and great attention was paid to setting the atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: New Year’s Eve was a fantastic night. The band were superb and the food was lovely. Only feedback is we had a guest who could not eat salmon starter but mushroom was substituted and she can’t eat that either. I had emailed what she could eat but it obviously didn’t get through. A small hiccup on an otherwise great night!

Fantastic experience: NEW YEARS EVE 2023 We were a party of eight and enjoyed our new years eve there last night. The venue was beautifully decorated in a London theme, lights balloons, candles, union jack flags. Sparking fizz on arrival. The food was lovely. Salmon roulade, beef wellington and sticky toffee pudding. Although some toffee sauce would have been good The drinks were reasonably priced. The service was good. There was only one issue that our party felt spoilt the night. It was absolutely freezing in the main room, with four fans blowing cold air down on the people below. When we mentioned it we were fobbed off with some utter garbage about the hot air rises to the fans and then the fans redistribute the hot air! Never heard such a load of old rubbish in all my life, and the ladies toilet were an absolute ice box. This made the room up to the end of the Queen tribute band really uncomfortable. When ladies have bare shoulders we need a bit of warmth! Good job a took a warm wrap!

Fantastic experience: When to a Vow renewals, a celebration of a marriage, to re-affirm the commitments made on their wedding day 15 years ago. Staff, we're wonderful, and the room is beautiful.

Positive experience: Fun and relaxing December film evening, Altrincham Film club at the Bowdon Rooms.

Fantastic experience: We couldn’t recommend the Bowdon Rooms enough! From our initial emails and visit, Helena, so helpful friendly and attentive putting us at ease every step of the way. On our special day Helena, Allison, Ed and the rest of the team were there to calm my nerves and made sure the day went amazingly.

Positive experience: Nice freezing cold hall that held this adult disco. No seating area or any where to place your drinks

Fantastic experience: The Bowdon Rooms is a lovely wedding venue. The interior is fresh and attractive with plenty of space for guests and evening entertainment. The events manager guided and supported us through the options available in hiring the venue. We choose a package offering with catering included and on reflection, we have no regrets in that selection. The included on site catering was excellent and the events manager communicated and worked with us very well very in organising our day at the venue. This included accommodating a piano player and a 35 piece showband in the evening. The catering and staff at the venue are excellent. If you looking for a wedding venue go have a chat with them and they’ll arrange to show you around the venue.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 cannot recommend The Bowdon Rooms enough. We had our wedding here last month and from start to finish, Allison and the team were outstanding. From the moment we arrived at the venue, the staff were amazing. They made sure that ourselves and our guests felt welcomed and made the day flow effortlessly and smoothly. They were so organised with timings and with following the order of the day. The venue itself is beautiful both the outdoor space and inside. Also, catering provided by Herbs and Spices was incredible! We opted for a buffet and every dish was delicious. We had guests commenting on how nice the meals were and one even said how “it was the best food” she’s had at a wedding. Thank you so much, Allison, Ed and everyone at The Bowdon Room for making our wedding a day to remember.

From our first initial enquiry, right through to the wedding day itself Any questions we had were dealt with quickly. They put us at ease and let us enjoy the day. We couldn’t recommend The Bowdon Rooms enough for a wedding. A beautiful unique venue. Our guests were blown away, and we’ve had nothing but compliments since.

Fantastic experience: What an unforgettable night! The venue is beautifully decorated, inside and out, creating a very special and intimate vibe, which was perfect for the evening in conversation with Pete Doherty. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful if you tried, full of smiles and clearly happy to work the event, and with two bar options I never waited for long to be served. There was a slight issue with my cup leaking which was promptly resolved. Plenty of parking (free) at the venue which is a bonus too! My partner and I had a fabulous evening and we will be looking out for upcoming events being held there.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many venues including The Bowdon Rooms before. This was the perfect setting for Peter Doherty’s “In conversation with Chris Hawkins”. A small intimate venue and one in my local town - not in the centre of Manchester- like other ‘live interviews’ of this nature seem to be. The venue was clean and well set out. Organisation was good - considering it was pouring down outside. We were met by friendly faces and the staff were helpful. Toilets were clean too (compared to many toilets in the city centre) and the mixed-sex toilets upstairs didn’t offend those in the queue. (Obviously there were male/female loos downstairs too.) We had soft drinks which were a reasonable price - City centre drinks are twice as much). Seating was good and the stage was well thought out. Sound was good and we didn’t miss anything. Chris Hawkins did a good job and it seemed a natural interview. Peter, obviously homesick, but keeping us entertained with his real life stories and giving us an insight of the ‘real Peter’ - a different side from the media led impression. A good night…. And the cherry on the top is that Mike Joyce was there too. Not often you see all your hero’s at the same time! Footnote… (I was there on a rare ‘night out’. Photos from my iPhone.)

Positive experience: was a great evening ezcept for the rain but thats nobody's fault but mother nature's All the staff were attentive and helpful and the venue was impeccable think the only thing i would change is the seating which was abit too crammed in, I understand you want to have as large a capacity as possible but that can then mean each of us are shoulder to shoulder next to fellow fans that we've never met before thats usually fine at standing gigs as you can move around but seated means you cant decent night overall though

Fantastic experience: We held The Celebration of Life for my wife at the Bowdon Rooms followed by a buffet afternoon tea.The room was perfect, bright and airy and able to accommodate 100 people without being crowded. Helena, Alison and their colleagues did everything they could to ensure that we could arrange the event the way we wanted. Thanks to their efforts, the day itself was very special and stress free.

Fantastic experience: A highly memorable evening at the Bowdon rooms - a terrific venue and atmosphere . Not a superfan but came away thinking how refreshing to see an artist being so authentically honest and real about his journey . Chris Hawkins was a terrific interviewer - drawing out so much of Pete’s story - searingly honest. The acoustic performances were the cherry on the top . Negative experience: Had tickets to an event, start time on tickets stated 7pm so we got there early, along with many other attendees. Stood out in the rain for 45 minutes until 7:30pm before deciding to leave. No respect shown to people, no outdoor seating, a couple of umbrellas. Saw one person accompanying someone with access needs request to be let inside and was turned away to remain outside getting drenched. If you had any mobility needs then tough. Really never encountered such a lack of respect en masse. All other venues I've attended would allow people inside before time on ticket, or would have it stated somewhere that doors were strictly at a certain time, not print a start time then leave so many people stood in the rain watching staff inside just waiting around. Awful way to treat people and showed a complete lack of empathy. Even just opening one door when they could have opened more and let people in more quickly would have shown a modicum of interest in ensuring guests were kept happy. And zero consideration given if you had any additional needs for access to facilities. I've never been treated so poorly by a venue ever. Avoid, they're just after your money and don't care how you experience their venue once they've got it.

Fantastic experience: We hired the ballroom for our 25th Wedding Anniversary Party which all worked out perfectly (apart from the weather) Allison and all the staff, prior to and during the party could not do enough to help. The venue looked amazing every detail was discussed and planned. Rosie and James were great with the guests throughout the evening, serving the welcome drinks and the bar staff were brilliant. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We honestly don't know where to start.. so my husband and I got married here on 5th April 2023 and from the moment we met the staff at The Bowdon Rooms we were blown away with their kindness and professionalism. This was the 1st and only place we viewed and we are so glad we chose you guys. Allison, Ed, Hèlèna and Amy at herb and spice were all amazing and couldn't do enough for us from planning meetings and making sure the day ran smoothly and even going the extra mile to make us feel super special. We have absolutely no regrets and so glad we got married here. We would strongly recommend anyone who wants a special day to book here. We cannot thank you all enough and are eternally grateful for everything you guys have done for us. We want to do it all again
