The Arlington Baths Club: Opinions
Positive experience: Visited during doors open day. We were shown around by the club secretary. He was very knowledgeable and provided lots of information on the origins and the various architectural additions over the years. The club has a wide range of activities available, not just swimming.
Positive experience: A little tired, could do with a refit
Fantastic experience: Outstanding facilities, very helpful staff and above all a lovely atmosphere! Kayed x
Fantastic experience: What an awesome experience! Loved the Turkish suite the best. Beautiful scenery and decor Victorian architecture, very quiet, loved popping my towel down the chute at the end Also enjoyed screaming when after my sauna I waited the ice cold bucket as I pulled on the old fashioned lever, felt like I was in cracker Jack. Got told off for screaming All in all, yeah, I'd join ! Well worth it. Not a pleb in sight ( she jokes)
Fantastic experience: Great place
Fantastic experience: Great swimming pool and Turkish baths.
Fantastic experience: Very nice clean staff excellent had a nice relaxing vistit would go again
Negative experience: Not taking new members- should be published on their site.
Fantastic experience: Been coming to the Arlington for over 10 years now and still enjoy it!
Fantastic experience: Such lovely old building with lovely facilities. The Sunday Swim had such a relaxed atmosphere.
Fantastic experience: This place is great. I love the pool and there are many other wonderful amenities. I joined primarily due to the one person per lane rule, so it's not a struggle for space and you don't feel like you are in someone else's way while trying to swim. And the Turkish spa is a relaxing area to spend some time afterward. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. Some other reviewers are pushing for updates to the space, but the charm really is in the history of the establishment. They've been progressively making appropriate updates, more recently to changing rooms and shower areas - but while some things may seem old fashioned, I think it only adds to the experience.
Fantastic experience: The best place to be in Glasgow !!
Fantastic experience: Great place to relax
Fantastic experience: Great place to attend for their Naturist swimming sessions. Lots of people attend.

Fantastic experience: I attended an Open Doors visit to see the baths.. Stunning building and fantastic facilities..If I lived in the west of Glasgow I would be a member..Thanks to all yesterday.
Negative experience: It has a great size pool but the down side is it is still very outdated whole building needs to be modenised remove the stupid rings an trappeze ropes and add some new facialtys like a jacuzie make it way less outdated bring it back to life help bring fresh life into the place as the current older customers are in there 60+ age group esp the sunday swim event as that has a mostly older customer base and the sunday naturest swim event needs more advertising to help breath new life in to the place and update and modenise the changing and shower facilaties they are still stuck in the 1800s
Fantastic experience: Brilliant facilities and very friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to really relax and unwind

Fantastic experience: Relaxed, friendly, unpretentious. Helpful staff. Best decision ever in joining,
Fantastic experience: I have been lucky enough to have membership throughout my childhood and now return with my own family. This members run club is tucked in the shadow of Glasgow University near Charing X , along with its extended family club the Western Baths on the West Side of the hill off Byres road. A haven for those who like a bit of family fun and games and also piece and quiet. It has all the usual attractions swimming pool, saunas, steam rooms, gyms, a bar.......... All chatty and social........ And then you have the Turkish baths. This serene space, a dome of concrete with coloured glass geometric shaped windows throwing ambient light. It has wooden benches and chairs and as the saloon style doors swing closed as you enter you realise this is a 'breathe out space'. Held at 110 degrees the joy of just sweating out the days qualms is not to be missed. Off to the side a glassed inner room 120degrees absolutely a place of zen. I love you can't tell which way is north in the Turkish, a bubble out of time Having talked about the zen - there is a lot of pool action, laps are swum at different paces, classes are underway for new swimmers, let's talk about the rings from shallow to deep end and two trapezes, great confidence builders for kids and adults, learning how to fly from one to the other across the pool and of course the huge hot baths at the side of the pool to go and soak in after the exertion. Always worth visiting on doors open day or applying for a visitors pass. Timeless
Fantastic experience: Great place for the naked swim and had good facilities for everybody.
Fantastic experience: New sauma and steam rooms just built are fantastic. Pool te.perature just right. Thanks to all staff

Fantastic experience: Fabulous baths, friendly and helpful staff, great facilities, love it!
Positive experience: One of the oldest baths in Britain. Nice and quiet. Good wee gym. Lots of character. Big swimming pool. Beautiful rustic look
Fantastic experience: Great place, traditional baths and gym
Fantastic experience: Great place to relax
Fantastic experience: Beautiful Victorian bathhouse. Great facilities from the Turkish Suite to the gym and of course the swimming pool with trapeze and rings. Great sense of community as well!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant place got to see it during Open Doors Day Weekend
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place and facilities
Negative experience: The facilities are great but staff could be a lot nicer. Like someone else has said, the female life guards look like someone has peed in their chips most of the time.
Fantastic experience: Tradition History and a great place to swim
Fantastic experience: Beautiful old Glasgow swimming baths. Historical building is worth a tour.
Fantastic experience: Visited with my daughter who is a member. We love the place, we will join when we move to the area. The main features are the pool and relaxation areas. The gym part is small compared to modern gyms. So if you are a gym beast this is not for you. But if it’s a community, a bit of exercise and relaxation then it’s perfect.
Fantastic experience: Love it x joined recently ..... it's a lovely calm atmosphere and staff are friendly. Pool is lovely.....
Positive experience: It is dirty and some people skinny dip my friend says and I will give it the benefit of the doubt because it's a very old building too from the 1800s and I used to go there for swimming lessons and highly recommend the lessons
Fantastic experience: Beautiful old private members baths, totally worth the price if membership!
Fantastic experience: My favourite place in the world. No other Club compares. You really feel like part of something not just a number. Staff always lovely and everything always very clean.
Negative experience: Good for old folk but you must attract the youth with elaborate flumes, kids seeing them snake around the outside of the building & back in draw rhem in, it won't damage the building & your takings will skyrocket, especially in, hot summer or really cold winter, you'll lose the 4old loyal customers in their 80s, but your taking will quadruple,
Fantastic experience: Great gym - please don't come - I want the pool to myself!
Positive experience: A wonderful place
Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a place to relax in style, this is it. Sadly, the weather in Glasgow isn't often up to much. When it is, I like to hit up the park. But alas, those days are rare. Fortunately, The Arlington makes up for that. Here, they have an 8-lane pool built in 1870, complete with flying trapeze and rings. There's also a sauna, steam room and Turkish suite. These facilities are perfect for de-stressing and forgetting about the outside world. If you plan on using the Turkish, I recommend bringing in something to read, be it a newspaper, book or something else. Coming to The Arlington to chill out allows you to step back into a time before monotonous leisure centres and sports complexes.
Positive experience: visited during doors open day.
Fantastic experience: Loved it. I visited the club during Glasgow Open Doors Festival. Timeless. Unique place for swimming experience and Turkish bath like things used to be. The club is established in 1870.
Fantastic experience: It is a pleasant haven in this large town where you can relax and chill after a hard day at work....Amenities are excellent....

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Victorian swimming club
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, great private pool.
Positive experience: Enjoyed a membership for a year. Probably would be best suited as an ocassional treat. Beautiful building, with stunning Turkish sauna and bathhouse. The gym in the attic is small, but perfectly formed, and seemed to be rarely used. Only off-putting thing was the snoot factor. Some of the members aren't v friendly!.
Fantastic experience: Just the best.
Fantastic experience: Clean pool. Quite in the morning. Great location u can come by bus (eithr from great western road or woodland road ) Turkish suna is great. You can pay 10£ and use ficilites for one day.

Fantastic experience: One of my favourite places in Glasgow
Fantastic experience: Great club, excellent facilities and a wonderful history
Positive experience: could be ran better but staff are friendly
Fantastic experience: A westend institution and far and away the most relaxing place to spend a few hours in the city.
Fantastic experience: I've o my been here the one time and I loved it. I will definitely be back again. So much to do. Love the old Victorian setting with the old baths. The sauna and steam rooms are amazing. The assault course above the pool is great for the kids. Amazing how old and well preserved this place is. It might be a bit pricey compared to normal swimming pools but it is worth every penny just for it's history to say you've been in there.
Fantastic experience: Wow, this place is fabulous. Relaxing and the perfect place to spend time on a miserable day or at the end of a hard day, so lovely and the staff are wonderful

Fantastic experience: A pretty unique place - always space in the pool to swim and full of character.
Fantastic experience: The Arlington has so many great features. The early morning opening times and getting your towels supplied and swimming costume laundered makes your pre work swim so much easier. The Turkish suite is a fabulous stress buster too and having an on site gym is a great bonus.
Fantastic experience: Excellent Gym, relaxing turkish suite and beautiful sunlit pool, never too busy.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful club. Can't beat the swimming pool.
Fantastic experience: A lovely place, the building is full of character. The Turkish sauna is wonderful.
Fantastic experience: Everything in the Arlington is brilliant. The Turkish sauna is particularly nice on a cold Glasgow night too.
