Fantastic experience: There for a society day package. Great food from the Bacon butty on arrival to the soup and sandwiches at lunch and the evening meal, everything was enjoyed by all. The facilities were excellent and the staff were a pleasure to be with. The golf course was in beautiful condition having just staged an England Golf event. Fabulous day out.

Fantastic experience: Went for a round as part of an open competition the course and club were running. For £160 for a team of 4, we got coffee, tea and unlimited bacon butties on arrival. Then a round of golf. The fairways have suffered slightly but preferred lies were in operation. Greens were absolutely immaculate and consistent. As we're the bunkers. At the halfway house, beverages and sausage rolls - or a Pimm's if you fancied it. Overall, a brilliant day out!

Fantastic experience: It makes such a difference when you go to a place that has good staff. The ladies behind the bar were great and very friendly. The food was nice, and we sat with views of the golfcourse whilst we ate.

Fantastic experience: Played for the first time a couple of weeks with our society (Swing Gate). We loved the course, the greens were in great condition considering the lack of rain and thought the food was excellent and all staff very helpful. Would definitely return. Andy SGGS.

Fantastic experience: Lovely course with some good challenging aspects, as a group of high handicappers we managed to get round the course at a steady pace with enough challenges to keep the interest of more competent golfers. Practice facilities are great, driving range is basic but functional, chipping and putting greens are good with a large practice bunker too. Would highly recommend and will be playing there again soon.

Fantastic experience: It is a class act. Only played the golf course part of the complex but what a treat. Best greens I have ever putted on in the UK. The bar is small in comparison but has lots of outside seating for Summer months and the Staff are very friendly and accommodating. It’s worth every penny to play their golf course and buggies are reasonably priced at £25 per round. Fantastic day out.

Positive experience: Had lunch the other day, the food was lovely but there was loads of flies buzzing around us as there was a window open, which I had to close, put a bit of a downer on the meal.

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming club with a challenging course and super friendly hospitality. We went for their Open AM-AM event and really enjoyed the whole day. The golf was excellent for this time of the year and the atmosphere and catering in the clubhouse was top notch. We’ll certainly be returning hopefully before next year’s open with some more friends.

Positive experience: If you are looking for a really good course that is easy to walk, then you'd find it here. Very well presented with little or no rough ground to speak of. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The clubhouse facilities are excellent.

Positive experience: Really nice course, one of the best I've played this year. It's really well thought out, easy to navigate, and is quite forgiving off the T's. The fairways are quite wide but challenging with bunkers and streams all over. The greens are pristine varied from fast to middle some even quite slow. Th groundstaff when you see them are very respectful of golfers and their next shot. I'd definitely play this again very soon. Great job guy's

Positive experience: Visited The Oaks for a Captains Away Trip. Throughout the day the food and service was excellent. The Golf Course is a plotters course, and if the wind blows like it did, makes it a good test, Greens were good although a bit slow, bunkers well prepared. For £54 we played 9 holes before lunch, 18 holes in the afternoon, we recieved a Bacon Sandwich on arrival homemade soup and sandwiches for lunch, and for the evening meal the most delicious Steak and Ale Pie, with a tasty cheesecake, topped with fresh berries and ice cream. The food was definitely better than most away day food I have come across at other venues.... Ridiculously good value, good course great day !!

Fantastic experience: A challenging course in good condition considering the awful weather over-the-counter winter. Greens good and fairways well cut, ball running well. The members are friendly and the clubhouse is very inviting well managed and clean. Food was good as well. Well worth a visit.

Positive experience: Visoted end of April. Nice venue. As with most courses at the moment, WET! Fairways and general play areas soggy/standing water (it was raining) but at least they are cut unlike my own club. Greens were in excellent condition. Nice course, and should be very nice in summer if we get one. Clubhouse and amenities all very good and staff very friendly.

Fantastic experience: I attended a Temple Spa experience with my sister in law it was brilliant. Then we relaxed in the Spa. Michael made sure we all had a great time and provided us with coffee and fabulous cupcakes.

Fantastic experience: Despite it being an almost dead flat track, The Oaks is a very well thought out golf course. A mixture of water hazards, bunkers, woodland and out of bounds certainly keep you on your toes for most of the round, but the quality of the fairways means a good tee shot rewards you with an excellent chance of parring each hole. The clubhouse bar has great views back across the course, and the practice facilities are also of a good standard.

Fantastic experience: Played in cross trophy (a York Union event) beginning of march, with the amount of rain that had fallen over the previous week's I was surprised that the comp was still taking place. Sunday morning came, weather was fine, and course was in very good condition, greens were ok for time of year, can only get better.The greens staff had done a very good job in getting the course prepared. Good pro shop and very good catering. It helps when you are in the prizes . Always a pleasure to play.

Fantastic experience: Excellent location, went to celebrate friends 50th anniversary. Brilliant 3 course meal with very good service. Generous portions of varied 3 courses. From pate to soup, pork or chicken with several vegetables. Cheesecake to crumble followed by coffee and mints. Reasonable priced drinks menu.

Positive experience: Spa day and gym visit on this occasion and had a really nice time. The staff were really good and made sure they looked after us. Had the 3 course Sunday dinner the starter and main were fantastic, not keen on the desserts. The facilities were really nice, clean and just a nice atmosphere. Couldn’t experience the full spa due to social distancing but what we did was good, the gym was a bit basic but fine for what I wanted if you’re big into the gym you might not have as much there as you would want. Defo go back after restrictions eased to experience the rest.
