Langleys Country Club and Spa

Negative experience: Visited with a view to membership. Member of staff told manager she didn't want to show me round as she was on her break. Did show me round, but very quickly, did not answer questions, just gave me a piece of paper with membership fees on it. Facilities very basic & cramped. Pool looked nice.

Negative experience: Rarely any staff around to monitor gym users. If telephoning,the gym, your calls are never answered. Swimming pool pretty but not suitable for exercise/length swimming as too small. You can never get on the classes as they can only take small groups at one time. It's not worth £70 a month.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never been a fan of gyms. In the past, they always felt overwhelmed—full of equipment I didn’t know how to use, too crowded to get on anything, and full of gym-goers who seemed to know exactly what they were doing. It was intimidating and not enjoyable. My husband and I are in our 50s. We walk our dogs every day and eat a healthy diet, but I still found it difficult to lose weight. I kept reading that cardio was important and that walking alone wasn’t enough. That’s when I decided to visit Aberconwy Gym—and I’m so glad I did. We both signed up for the full monthly package, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s been life-changing. We now go to the gym five mornings a week! We do a mix of gym workouts, swimming, sauna, and time in the jacuzzi. If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be doing this—and loving it—I would never have believed you. We both work full time, and our morning gym sessions have become the perfect, energising way to start the day. Rhian and Ross are lovely—always cheerful, approachable, and ready with helpful advice. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and never intimidating. I’ve also started going to Pilates on Monday evenings, which is included in the membership. I’d never tried it before, but Claire, the instructor, is fantastic, and everyone in the class is so friendly and supportive. I’m genuinely proud that I’ve made these changes in my life, not just to be physically fitter, but mentally healthier too. If you’re thinking about taking that first step, I can’t recommend Aberconwy Gym highly enough. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Langleys for many years. The excellent facilities on offer mean that I enjoy going to the gym even if I don't actually feel like it! The staff are always friendly and offer professional advice from the morning shift to the late shift. The equipment is clean and kept up to date. More recently I have been taking part in the HIT classes on offer which are excellent and really motivating. I'm looking forward to seeing the new exciting plans taking place and will continue to be a loyal customer and recommend to others. We'll done team Langleys, keep it up!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, with very helpful members of staff who know what they're doing; helped me with a workout and diet routine throughout the week.. Already lost a stone in 2 1/2 weeks. Would most definitely recommend!

Positive experience: The staff here are fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. The gym is about to be upgraded significantly so there will be a better variety of equipment and more classes. The pool and Jacuzzi are lovely.
