Isenhurst Health Club (Crowborough)

Positive experience: Overall, this is a great gym. It is clean, well equipped, and the facilities are excellent. The pool area is especially impressive, with a sauna, steam room, and a large hot tub next to the main pool. However, there is one policy that I find quite frustrating. During children's swim sessions, the entire pool area is closed to adults who are not with a child. That includes the sauna, steam room, and hot tub, even though children are not using those. I completely understand and support the pool itself being off limits during these sessions, but it does not make sense to restrict access to the other facilities which are separate and not used by the children. What made it worse is that I was never told about this policy. Being asked to leave the area mid-visit was confusing and quite embarrassing. It felt like I was doing something wrong, when I was simply using the facilities I had paid for. It seems like an unnecessary rule that unfairly penalises adult members. Especially as the changing rooms remain open to everyone at the same time, the logic behind this policy is unclear. Aside from this issue, it is a fantastic gym and I would happily give five stars if this policy were reconsidered or at least better communicated.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with really helpful and friendly staff. Lots of good equipment, a nice pool area with sauna and jacuzzi as well as a studio for classes. Members can take part in any of the classes for no extra cost.

Fantastic experience: A great gym, good range of machines to use, plenty of free weights and space to use them, the pool and pool side facilities are very good, with natural light coming in and the jacuzzi is a good size.

Fantastic experience: Im loving my new membership here, its got great facilities and I feel like I can exercise without feeling awkward around others. The staff are all super friendly and helpful where needed. I've seen them regularly cleaning and maintaining the pools etc. A great health centre. I'm very glad I joined.

Fantastic experience: Well managed club, friendly and helpful staff. Good range of classes and bookable swim lanes (on some days) which means users can focus on their exercise routine without the stress of an overcrowded pool.

Fantastic experience: The swimming pool, and the Jacuzzi here are the nicest of all the three Isenhurst locations. There is something about the balanced lighting and how the length of the Jacuzzi make it feel like a place you would like to spend the whole day. I have not visited/used the gym side of here yet, but so far very impressed, even though I had no plans to come this way, circumstances happen where you need to move on to another gym. If you have been to either of the other pools, try this one too, and see what you think, Joe

Negative experience: Hard Decision on this one as the gym is well equipped for what you need but I feel the customer service just isn’t there and this is my own opinion as a new member who signed up and paid upfront for a whole year. The reason I give a two is that the staff are the ones who make the gym and I’m comparing them to others I have been with. 1) Front desk coming in is fine they say hello if there but no follow up talk or asking how long have I been at the gym anything I need etc, 2) I had a deal through my work where I could get PT sessions for free (up to £100) I called the gym who sounded eager but asked me to email, following two emails saying I need to book a PT session quickly I never heard back from them and decided to use another local gym who replied within the day and got me booked on a session that week. 3) my year membership has come to an end recently and I haven’t had any calls or emails to discuss my renewal, I find this absolutely crazy that a business who rely on members don’t follow up on renewals especially ones that pay everything upfront and are brand new to the gym(that’s a big piece of business straight away). A gyms members are it’s lifeline no matter how busy your gym is. Again I’m comparing this to other gyms big/small and never had service like this, as I’ve said their set up is great but for me the service hasn't been there.

Fantastic experience: Is it expensive? Compared to places like Pure gym or energie yes; but you get SO much more than a gym at Isenhurst. Friendly front of house staff and owner, amazing state if the art equipment and a well equipped free weight section; for light weight users to power lifters. The pool at the moment is pre booked but the jacuzzi, sauna and steam are pure bliss after a heavy session on the weights. Worth it.

Positive experience: I only popped in to pick up some leaflets about joining. The guy was friendly but no offer to show me round to see the facilities.

Positive experience: I got very fit here. But can no longer use this facility, due to a spinal condition. But the instructors can design a fitness programme to suit your needs. Everyone here is so nice. I never met an instructor, that was grumpy, ignorant, or rude. So if you're thinking of joining a fitness club. Give Isenhurst health club a go. There's plenty of parking space, & if you use the train station, it's literally, just down the road. The club is open early to late, so commuters can have a workout before or after they travel. Check opening hours, if you do decide to go to Isenhurst.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, been using Isenhurst for over a decade. Always friendly, knowledgeable the staff always remember your name and are happy to help. Not overcrowded like a lot of other places. The classes are plenty and are included in the monthly membership.
