Fantastic experience: Super friendly and helpful, brilliant gym

Fantastic experience: By Far the best Gym in Kendal and locally owned , great equipment inc a out door section and a excellent BJJ Dojo on the upper floor …besides great gym and cardio equipment it has boxing bags both outside and on the upper floor , this is a proper gym it’s a friendly welcoming gym and the owner is a credit to the industry, by a country Mile it is far better than any of the commercial national franchise type gyms …the equipment here in this gym you won’t find anywhere else in Kendal and the members also they are loyal local and from further afield who give this gym something others don’t have …The BJJ dojo is one of the best in the country …this is my third year as a member and I wouldn’t go anywhere else .

Fantastic experience: This gym is brilliant. Andy (the owner) is always on hand to offer support and guidance on your form, technique and recommends exercises that will benefit your particular goals. There is a brilliant selection of free weights and machines. I really recommend this gym and would encourage you to join. See you tomorrow bright and early!

Fantastic experience: Such a great friendly gym with a lot of help and advice on tap. I was looking for a decent old school gym for a while when moving up to Cumbria , would certainly recommend it to anyone no matter what there goal is as this gym really does cater for all needs.

Negative experience: It’s a shame that the gym can’t seem to see that it’s no longer a gym and more of a childrens fun factory as children run wild around the gym constantly darting in and out of different machines. The facilities and the toilets also need updating and the gym is generally just untidy and the staff seem to not care or do anything about it.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful family ran gym. There’s always someone on hand to offer assistant or advice if you need it! There’s an awesome variety of classes and this has meant I’ve been able to try classes I wouldn’t otherwise have tried including Muay Thai and BJJ. Great to see lots of women too

Fantastic experience: Completely love this place... I bit the bullet and walked into Pheonix 8 weeks ago. I felt scared and anxious that I would be judged as I had a preconceived idea of what certain types frequented a gym. I was so wrong... I was welcomed with friendly smiles and a true eagerness to help me to feel better about myself, improve my fitness and take my mind set to a higher level. The ethos of Pheonix is that everyone is welcome and no matter what your fitness level they will help you achieve what's achievable for you. I have had so much positivity and encouragement from the guys at Pheonix that I feel my own confidence is changing. I walk up there on an evening feeling tired and walk home feeling elated and as though I have achieved something. I took a picture 8 weeks ago of my body and I'm already seeing the benefits. If you want more energy, a higher level of fitness, encouragement and a friendly place to go then I HIGHLY recommend Pheonix Fitness. Lads - I salute you ♥

Negative experience: Would not recommend this gym in the slightest. I received some homophobic abuse from other members while I was a member and wanted to leave on that basis. The manager did not even respond to my complaint and has instructed debt collectors to recover a full year of fees! I have a mind to go to stonewall about this and I know other members who have experienced similar problems and have felt they have had to leave. Extremely frustrating and obviously not a very inclusive gym

Sam and Andy are first class they are always there to offer advice and help, where a lot of gyms sign you up then charge you extras for advice and coaching not here. The equipment is state of the art. Also the Martial Arts practiced at this gym is brilliant from BJJ to Muay Thai and a MMA class. what more could you ask for from a gym
