Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym,By far the best facilities I’ve ever seen in a gym (local to bury st Edmund’s) student/nhs discount £40 a month which I find reasonable considering what they have to offer,The staff are the nicest and most welcoming I’ve seen in any gym! I very very rarely have had to wait for any equipment to be free in the 2 months of going because the gym is massive! The car park and side street can be a bit of a struggle for spaces but 95% of the time never been an issue.

Really nice community vibe to it as well, I came here on a week pass as I’m working away from home so i needed to find an alternative gym to my regular one and i felt very welcomed and at ease. Fantastic experience: Where do I start? I spent ages finding a gym that has family values and is welcoming to all guests. When I first arrived at Iron Island I was welcomed by all the staff there and felt at home before even signing up! The staff have fantastic relationships with all members and really support and drive all members to be the best version of themselves. I’ve been lucky enough to join classes and begin to enter strongman competitions which I truly would never have put myself down for. This place offers way more than just a gym, it’s a family and one I’m very grateful to be a part of.

Massive selection of weights and machines, good cable selection too and loads of space for plyometric work (loved the astro grid for sledge work and walking lunges) and always seemed to have a bench available! I quickly noticed how clean and modern the facility and equipment are. With excellent staff, a prime location, and top-notch equipment, this is hands down the best gym around!

Fantastic experience: The best gym I’ve used! And I’ve used plenty. I’ve been training for a fairly long period of time now and I can comfortably say this is my favourite gym I’ve trained in, across a number of counties. The equipment, atmosphere and general facilities are second to none. All for a very reasonable price. The staff are all very friendly and personable, which I’ve often seen not to be the case across similarly equipped gyms. There is a huge community aspect to the gym without it being pushy and forcing you into classes etc. I couldn’t believe the value when I first started training here and neither could my partner. Occasionally it gets busy at a rush hour time, but not unsustainably compared to others. I’ve encouraged many friends to come down to the gym just to see what I’ve been raving about! Hope to train here for many years to come.

Fantastic experience: There’s something so unique about this place that I’ve never found in any other gym. It’s not just the fact it has the best range of equipment in the area by far and the aesthetic is amazing (loads of natural light ) But it also feels like home. One where you’re encouraged and supported by all members and staff to really be your best. It’s no wonder some of the best personal trainers choose to work here. Five stars is not enough. Fantastic experience: As a 50year old woman sometimes it can feel a bit intimidating going to a new gym, definitely not the case at Iron island. It has the most warm and friendly atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at a gym! All the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and are happy to help and guide you with any of your questions! All the equipment is top notch with a massive variety for whatever training you want to do!! Lots of classes and group activity sessions. The gym is immaculate and changing rooms are really spacious and clean (showers are fantastic) can honestly say it’s really enhanced my training coming here due to the support from staff and other gym users!! And you’ll never see anyone not racking their weights when they’ve finished!! Couldn’t recommend highly enough!!

Fantastic experience: IronIsland is the only gym where you won’t feel judged, pressured or anxious and where you will be encouraged to be the best version of yourself The owners and staff are all really helpful, they’ll always offer a helping hand if you aren’t sure of how to use a piece of equipment or if you need a spot They also offer a wide range of classes including spin and hyrox. The spin classes are always challenging but good fun! I could never imagine going to a different gym.

Fantastic experience: I joined Iron Island last October on the recommendation of some friends, and I’ve never looked back. I came from a basic gym in Cambridge where my motivation had hit rock bottom. Iron Island was exactly what I needed: a place filled with like-minded people who take strength training seriously, genuinely care about each other, and maintain their equipment better than most people maintain their cars. The change in my motivation and overall mindset has been huge. The owners and trainers are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly. With their support, I’ve gained muscle, learned a ton of new techniques, and found a real sense of community here. Depending on the music, Iron Island can feel like a chill country club diner, suddenly transform into a high-energy nightclub, and then swing right into a rock-and-roll house—somehow, it all works. It’s like Iron Island took the best bits of every cool venue you’ve been to and mashed them together, creating an atmosphere that’s electric but still welcoming. They’ve clearly invested in top-quality machines, and they’re on top of repairs—if a seat covering even starts to wear, it’s replaced before you notice. Everything feels practically brand new every time I walk in. I once got talked into trying a Hyrox workout by a friend. It wasn’t exactly for me (I could barely walk the next day), but I can see why people love it. I’ve also tried a couple of yoga classes, and they were fantastic—I’m really hoping they bring them back because it’s nice to have that mix of intensity and relaxation under one roof. Overall Verdict - I’ve been to plenty of gyms, but nothing compares to Iron Island. They’ve managed to create a true second home for anyone serious about fitness. From the moment you step in, you’ll feel inspired, supported, and ready to smash your goals. If you’re after a gym that’s genuinely invested in its members and its machines, Iron Island is the place to be.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: I have just seen my one year of going to this gym. I have been happily attending twice a week, lost 18.6kg, and improved my overall health enough my agP gave me an atta girl! If it wasn’t for the amazing atmosphere and energy of this place I would not be the healthier and happier person I am today! I am so grateful to the Island. It is the first gym where I love to come in! Feel safe and encouraged to push myself and workout. I have been to a lot of chain gyms and private gyms but nothing beats this place. You really are part of the family where they great you by name encourage you to grow and help you on your health journey! They got me into Spin classes with Jess which has been game changing to my health. Being graced at the door with all smiles and by name! Matt and Cole always smiling supportive and there for you! Dan telling you to “go get it girl!” Honestly as a bigger person the gym was always a place of dread. Now here I slip in with a smile on my face knowing I will live a longer and healthier life thanks to them. I will forever be grateful. Thank you

Negative experience: I’ve been there since the gym first opened. Not going to lie it was good- amazing gym. Unfortunately I realised that the gym doesn’t have enough space for me and also you have to wait ages for one machine. Lots of influencers making a shots naked or not. Posing all the time in the mirror. Depends on the day small place to have those people around. Mostly mens try to show off and keep the camera on all the time! Very annoying. Not really nice atmosphere if you’re not a friend of one of them. Nice music around depends of the person on charge. Cancelling the membership is a joke. As far as I know they said “ the membership is ongoing “ which means you can cancel whenever you want but this doesnt seem to be the case ! They want from you one month notice !!!!!! £50 for the membership is a lot especially when you are not student, not blue light. Day pass - before was £10, now increase to £15. Sorry but this is too much for anyone around.

Fantastic experience: Been here twice so far, great gym, full of great equipment. Patrons are so far very accommodating of a newbie and will happily spot you. Staff are very helpful and offer advice freely. So far so happy with this gym.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has been in gyms around Haverhill, Bury and Sudbury I can say with ease this is by far the best of the bunch I’ve had the pleasure of joining. all equipment is clean and maintained well and the environment is incredibly friendly to every type of person no matter your fitness journey would definitely recommend this gym to anyone from beginner all the way to advanced lifters.

From the first step you are greeted by name (even if you don't attend regularly), everything is clean and kept to a high standard. The team all are focused on giving you the best experience and the most out of your workout, nothing is ever too much. The equipment is world class and never in disrepair. The extras are exceptional and way more than you'd expect from a gym but then again, Iron Island absolutely blows past expectations. Spin and yoga classes, tanning beds, a recovery room, sports massages, cryotherapy, saunas... then I have not even gotten to the facility. My advice, come and have a look for yourself. Fantastic experience: Recently moved to Bury St Edmunds and found this amazing gym. The equipment available is incredible and they have multiple squats racks, which are the dream! Did my first spin class here Saturday morning and Jess was amazing. She checked on every person who turned up before starting and knew it was my first time in her class, before I even said anything. Great atmosphere, super friendly crowd and great music! It’s also a Hyrox gym, so perfect for anyone doing an event. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We came in for a look yesterday unannounced- and Lewis was so lovely! Left such a good impression I had to leave this review! Firstly, the place is really lovely! Both the front of house/reception is clean and tidy and looks really nice, but it also has a very friendly vibe! We parked in the back and before we were even inside (bearing in mind we are completely new never been here before) Lewis had smiled and said hiya guys! The building itself is really lovely, the extra services offered seem pretty amazing, and the gym is packed with really top quality gear! The gym is very very clean and well maintained and I can’t really stress how nice that is coming from a place where that’s not the case! (And they didn’t know we were coming it was unplanned so this is obviously just how they operate day to day!) The location is great, parking seems a bit limited but they have agreements with some local places so it will never be more than a few mins from your car if you can’t get in the car park or road, which is a massive bonus! Prices seem super reasonable and I’m really impressed with everything that’s offered. Basically we haven’t even joined yet but it’s giving 10/10 vibes!!!! Thanks Lewis, you sold it to us! And honestly the gym itself being so lovely l would’ve sold itself but you being so nice sealed the deal!

Fantastic experience: Best gym in bury by a long way. Has a good variety of strongman equipment which is rare. Pretty much every machine you could need is available. All new hammer strength (top quality stuff) Has a calisthenics rig and functional training area. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Gym is kept clean and tidy. Can't say a bad word about the gym. Whether you're into bodybuilding, Hyrox, powerlifting, or just flexing in front of the mirror, they got it all.Literally ALL. We're talking about a recovery room so relaxing that it could put a hyperactive toddler to sleep, a sauna that makes you feel like you're vacationing in the sun (minus the sunburn), and a cryotherapy room that's basically a freezer for people who enjoy being human popsicles. And let’s not forget the spinning classes—so intense that you'll start to believe your bike has a personal vendetta against you. Hungry? Their healthy meals are so good, you'll start wondering if your taste buds secretly went gourmet. Need a sports massage? Their therapist has hands that could turn the Hulk into a puddle of happy ( and realigned ) green goo. And if something’s off, the physiotherapist will have you back in action faster than you can say "Is this covered by my insurance?" But the best part? The squad. They’ve got the most amazing bunch of people who are so supportive, they make cheerleaders look lazy. So yeah, my gym IS better than yours. And it's not even a competition—just a fact ❤️

Fantastic experience: All around one of the best weight lifting gyms I have had the pleasure of being apart of. My SO and I have been going here since they opened. We have been going to gyms around the world and this still hands down this is our favorite gym. It's a serious and supportive community of gym goers, its super clean, and the people that work here are some of the friendliest people you will meet. Plus they have tons of amenities. Cyro room, recovery room, saunas, showers, tanning booths, huge locker rooms, and a GIANT free weight area with plenty of machines and room for calisthenics. They also have pre-made meals and many flavored protein smoothies (and pre workout if you forgot yours) available with a eating area! Top tier for sure. I would give 100 stars if I could!

Fantastic experience: Simply the best gym! The equipment is all state of the art. The staff are incredible- so welcoming, always on hand to help, or if you fancy a quick catch up. Also has sunbeds which is super handy. I have never known a gym to have such nice changing rooms- and a sauna which is female only (men’s have their own in their changing room). Everyone that goes to the gym is kind and respectful, always sharing equipment when it’s busy or just helping out if you don’t know what you’re doing! The best!
