Fantastic experience: I have been training with the school for almost a decade now and all I can say is that before I joined I found it difficult to speak in front of people, I found it hard to try out new things and I definitely wouldn’t have thought 10 years ago that I would be the confident, independent and self controlled person I am now. I have had many ups and downs outside of training but doesn’t everyone and all the students parents and instructors have always helped me through and motivated me to get myself back onto my feet. It is safe to say that no ones journey is the same and no one will ever have a clean sweep, myths about how long it takes to get to black belt are rarely true. The people at this school not only care about your training or your money but they care about what this does for your health and well being which is a rarity nowadays. It took me almost 7 years to achieve my black belt so there is in fact no telling when you will reach the top and even then there is further to go. No journey will be perfect and that is something everyone is reminded of. But the fact that lessons are enjoyable and you are given so many opportunities to travel the country and even the world by taking the opportunity to simply sign up to a few lessons really is one of the many things about this school that is special.

Fantastic experience: My eldest started training at the start of the year then a couple of months later at the young age of 42 I started (I thought I must be mad in all honesty). But I've not regretted it in the slightest, they're are extremely welcoming and incredibly patient (they've had to be with me ha ha). No egos no one knocking you down, everyone from the white belts through to junior and senior black belts are there to help, laugh and encourage you, ok and take the mickey at times too. Can not recommend John and Angela enough, the respect they have from all students is enormous and a credit to how hard they work and how much support they give. If you're thinking of getting into martial arts give them a call, you'll not regret it.

Fantastic experience: My son started at age 9 and he's 12 now. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time there and is progressing well. The team are very dedicated to their students and put in 100%effort and determination. His focus, confidence, assertiveness and ambition has greatly improved over the past 3 years. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: Started classes for the first time at 53 and not at all fit. Great decision! It's hard work at times but great instructors who never make you feel bad about your progress and push you to do your best. Three gradings in now and doing things I never imagined I would. Totally recommended.

Fantastic experience: My 9 year old son attended this academy really professional and great kuk school got very quickly with his fantastic teaching up to his first belt in no time at all very friendly feel at ease from the start unfortunate change in circumstances means we cant attend at moment but can 100 % recommend john and Angela's self defence kuk school give it a try you will not be disappointed many student's train right up to black belt with these guy's we will be returning asap keep up all your hard work guy's .

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been attending the classes for the past 2-3 years and has progressed nicely. I love the fact that they encourage everyone to take part in competitions regardless to the belt colour or abilities. And I love flexibility so if you can't make it to your lesson you can go on an alternative days but because of that sometimes there are quite a few students turning up in one day which makes teaching/practising a bit difficult. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a teacher that encourages and is patient with your child.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic martial arts school in Morecambe.. my son has definitely learnt a lot since starting 6 months ago. Highly recommend, as your child definitely will build up confidence! and discipline along the way!.

Fantastic experience: Our eldest son attended this school for over 3 years. Initially he was very shy and lacked self confidence. After a matter of weeks of martial arts training with John Ward, there was a very noticeable change. He became very keen to learn more and his confidence grew immensely. The class is informative and students are encouraged to do well. The gradings happen for different belts only when John Ward thinks you’ll do well. He is 100% behind his students and he also does demonstration days, open to the parents of students, and public. I encourage everyone to take a look. You will receive a very warm welcome. You may even meet the grandmaster as our son did. Pop along and take a look. Can’t recommend enough. Our son would be definitely still attending if he hadn’t gone to university

Fantastic experience: I am a former student and would like to post a review to reflect what a wonderful experience my 5 year training was. When you join you become part of a family, it is within this family that you are challenged and pushed further than you thought you could ever go. The area is so lucky to have a Master with such depth of knowledge and experience, a real privilege to train under. If you want to get fit, keep your brain active and make friends while you learn under EXPERT supervision....you have found the right school!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this school for two years, I chose this school because it teaches you traditional martial arts, discipline, team work and hard work. I can't recommend this place enough. I have to add that there is someone who rated it a 1, I genuinely am shocked as it is an amazing school for both kids and adults.

Fantastic experience: Having just read the review of ‘unknown user’ who only rated this school as one star, and having read the owners response, I feel it is only right that I should support the owner as having run my own martial arts school a few years back, met the owner and when I had to close my school (my mother was ill), after visiting a few other martial art groups decided that this was the school I would like to donate all of our equipment to (mats, weapons etc.). I find it hard to believe that a person would spend five years practising a martial art at a school they were not happy with. Is there an ulterior motive here from a competitor? Although my children are now adults and have left the nest I would be more than happy to have let them train here. And the words of the owner are the truth – the AVERAGE PERSON will never get a black belt. It took me twelve years, training three times a week to get there!

Fantastic experience: Excellent school with instruction from 4th and 5th Dahn black belts on students from the age of 4 and for families. Kuk Sool, Hapkido and Kong Shin Bup are disciplines which include techniques, sparring and weapons that will keep you fit and for all levels of experience.

We have genuinely been blown away at how our 11 year old has taken to it and the positive impact the lessons have had in all areas of development from confidence and fitness to personal responsibility. Cannot wait to start our now 3 year old in Ninjas when he is old enough and honestly cannot rate the school highly enough. Five Star Plus Plus Plus!

Fantastic experience: I joined KJN John & SBN Angela's school over 2 years ago. Just like many adult students here I followed my then 4-year old son, who was attending Little Ninjas classes. Since then, we both have grown in confidence and have seen a boost in our fitness levels (mainly me because kids are never short of energy!). We have met fantastic people and learned new skills. I even started learning Korean as a result! KJN John is not only a highly ranked martial artist but also a dedicated and passionate role model for his students. He is always willing to share his invaluable knowledge making sure that the art he is teaching is not forgotten. Complimented by always helpful SBN Angela this school is a professional yet family friendly place to become a better person. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I take my 2 boys (6 and 8 years old) here every week. their progression is really good. They have goals and most important they can achieve the goals with John and Angela. They have made good friends within the school which pushes them to all grow in the martial art together. There is no pressure to compete they just have a great time. There are yearly tournaments that basically are a measure of how well they are getting on along with other clubs from the North West. These are a great day for them and a very friendly competition win or lose they treated like winners. a really great and friendly atmosphere along with other parents. I highly recommend this martial arts school. John and his team are so good with the kids and definately have the patience of saints!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant teaching for both of my children who attend and thoroughly enjoy the lessons. John & Angela nurture each student to encourage and learn in a fun but disciplined way. I have found that my children have gained confidence and focus since attending. Would recommend to anyone thinking of introducing their children to a martial art.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Martial Arts club. I attend the adult classes each week, great fun whilst keeping fit and socialising. Learning a new skill in Martial Arts has really helped me improve other areas in my practical life. Well worth the time!

Fantastic experience: I have trained at the Academy for over ten years, along with my wife and son, and have seen many students grow in fitness, flexibility and confidence. The Martial Arts system taught here is accessible to all abilities, but offers a challenge that grows as you progress though the belts so that interest and excitement is maintained. Instruction is provided by a 6th and 4th Dan with assistance from other black belts. This breadth and depth of instruction is important as it ensure quality tuition is provided along with considerable 1-2-1 support. Course content includes open-handed self defence, forms and a wide range of weapon techniques. If respect, self confidence and discipline (mixed with a liberal helping of good fun) sounds like your thing look no further. Come on down, say hello and have a go!
