The Oak Circus Centre

Fantastic experience: We attended an Oak Street Circus school when they had an open day, and my five year old was completely enchanted. She now attends circus tots fortnightly and adores her tutor. It is such an incredible space and such a beautiful way of repurposing the building. It is a safe welcoming space, with tutors that are highly skilled, patient, fun and nurturing. My daughter was lucky enough to host her 5th birthday there, and the venue, alongside the commitment of the staff at facilitating high energy, fun and engaging activities for all made it such an incredibly special birthday. We cannot recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: The Oak Circus is a magnificent place to train with excellent coaches! I worked with Massi who is super knowledgeable with over 20 years of circus experience. He coaches everything from kids to high-level partner acrobatics. Working with him has been one of the highlights of my acrobatic journey! Massi is an artist who helps brings out the talent & artistry in everyone!

Fantastic experience: The oak circus is a wonderful space that has a lot to offer, from great lessons on a verity of circus skills for all levels to events! I had a fantastic birthday party there, the team were amazing and provided great support for organisation and planned a really fun workshop for us! Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I recently booked a private silks class for a hen party and we had an amazing time. It was so much fun and so relaxed. Even though some struggled to climb up the silks, we found ways to make sure everyone could perform a few holds and tricks by the end of the session. Would definitely recommned!

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for an incredible party. What a wonderful venue you have. Floor and Rebecca were brilliant with the children. Every parent has told me how much their child enjoyed the party. My daughter said it was ' the best party in the whole wide world' and asked when she can go back. The booking process for the birthday party was so easy and informative. I loved the gallery for watching the children and brilliant space for eating party food too. All in all a fantastic experience for everyone. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We were really happy with our daughter's 11th birthday party at the Oak Street Circus Centre. The venue is beautiful, the tutors were fun, encouraging and kept all the children fully engaged for the 1.5 hour workshop. They got to try lots of different skills using the equipment including trampette, tightwire and aerial trapeze and hoops. All the children loved the party, would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We brought a group of young people as part of the Targeted Youth Service summer activity programme. The session from start to finish was incredible, the instructors are so personable and made not only our young people feel welcome, but also alleviated any worries and really got the best out of every single participant. I was also incredibly impressed by the instructors ability to keep each young person engaged throughout, as many of our young people can struggle at times. Thank you for an amazing afternoon! We will see you again soon :)

Fantastic experience: We have had our daughter's sixth birthday here today and it was amazing! The staff were knowledgeable, kind, calm and guided the children around safely. They played really fun games and the children were able to use a variety of equipment - trapeze, silks, juggling/hoops etc as well as tumbling. There was a dedicated space for food and tea/coffee for the grown ups. It was very reasonably priced and the children had a fantastic time. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: What a fabulous birthday party for Lyra and her friends today. They all 'had the best time ever' and several left wanting to come back for their party. Great venue, amazing activities - and the party leaders were incredible. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I went to an open session for acro a couple of weeks ago and loved the Oak Circus. I got shown around the circus and all the bits of equipment I was able to use. I really enjoyed trying a balance board for the first time and I even got their big air track out for a quick go. They watched me first do a few acro moves to make sure I was safe to train unsupervised as it was an open session I had booked. Everyone was kind and welcoming. I can’t wait to book my next session.

Fantastic experience: The Oak Circus Centre is amazing! My daughter announced out of nowhere she wanted to "climb silk ropes" and she's found a real home at the Oak (altho now she does hoop!). Kind, positive, encouraging teachers, a place to make new friends... it's brilliant. (I rather like the bar, too.)

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place that provides circus classes for all levels in a lovely venue! I m so glad I have tried their aerial yoga class and Im going since every Saturday morning. Lovely atmosphere, amazing & knowledgeable staff and positive vibes! Highly recommended !

Fantastic experience: We booked a party for my 9 year old. She does gymnastics and this was right up her street. Lovely venue and staff, all the girls really enjoyed it..it all went smoothly and I was really pleased. Great place for a kids party.

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I attended as we both really want to be able to do handstands and the class was amazing. Went from no knowledge of how or where to start and now much more confident and being able to do one (even if it’s only a few seconds). Coaching and tips were great!

Fantastic experience: I had been trying to find something to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. It needed to be a privately held family event, which catered for all ages, aged 4 to 76. Stumbling across this venue online, I contacted them to find out more. Annabel was extremely helpful and accommodated all my tweaks and was able to tailor make the event to exactly what I was after. We were able to bring our own food, drinks, and decorations, although there was the option for them to provide this at an additional cost. The event itself was amazing. It was a surprise for my daughter, but everyone else was excited and looking forward to it. The two instructors, Floor and Farid, were fantastic and made it clear from the start that there was no pressure. People could do as little or as much as they wanted or adapt things. They soon got the measure of people's capabilities or nervousness and encouraged and supported them accordingly. They were funny and friendly as well, making the event feel very relaxed. The activities like trapeze, tightrope, and silks were so much fun. New activities for nearly all of us. Although the birthday girl had an absolutely great time, so did everyone else, which is unusual for parties like this. To be able to cater for all is a skill in itself. Floor and Farid, thank you for helping us make wonderful memories for my daughter's 18th!

Fantastic experience: They are super supportive at The Oak, and have gone above and beyond to help me learn and grow. They have such a beautiful space which helps create an amazing atmosphere to train and have fun.I would 100% recommend them for complete beginners or people who train already.

Fantastic experience: The most welcoming and fun place to learn new skills! I can't speak highly enough of Oak Circus - I've been attending for around three months, and each of the teachers I've had brings an incredible amount of knowledge and skill to the sessions. More importantly they are engaging, full of joy and enthusiasm, and push you (only as much as you need) to try stuff you'd never thought you'd do. Plus you get really individualised feedback on how to improve your handstand or do a particular trick, while also learning as group. It's such a supportive, lovely place - I wish I'd found it sooner!

Fantastic experience: When i was child,I imagined the circus like a parallel world, in which everything was possible. Now i'm an adult and The Oak Circus let me remember this sensation. The people in this place are very kind, professional, open and everyone is a piece of a big and wonderful puzzle, that works very well! Work hard with them was a pleasure, and hope to do it again! Thank you guys for this magical experience!

Fantastic experience: Recently had a residency here with a group of circus artists and had a wonderful experience. The staff are very friendly and create a very welcoming atmosphere. They are dedicated to circus, you can even see them on the posters around the space demonstrating and practising circus techniques! As a fan of gothic architecture, it was great to work in such a beautiful space with large windows letting in lots of light, a beautiful wooden ceiling and a large area to move, project and film in. Would recommend to anyone.
