Fantastic experience: Had the opportunity to train with Tahir and the crew during my recent visit to UK. The session was incredibly practical, engaging, and full of valuable self-defence techniques that anyone can apply in real life. The team’s professionalism and friendly approach made the experience both enjoyable and empowering. Fantastic experience: The classes are brilliant and all the people are so friendly and helpful, they have not only helped me with self defence but have also built my self confidence and helped so much with my mental health. I have learned so much already and have only been going since February. I would highly recommend this to everyone. You learn so many great self defence things and also keep yourself really fit. If you haven’t already you have to give it a go it’s so much fun.

Fantastic experience: Unleashed provide children with the skills they need to defend themselves and avoid injury. The sessions are fun and involve constant activity. The lessons are clear and the exercises are repeated to give all the children confidence in their skills. We have seen an improvement in our son’s confidence levels and would recommend trying Unleashed.

Fantastic experience: I enrolled my son last September 2024 and since then his confidence has improved so much. The classes are high energy and fun and he looks forward to it all the time. It teaches them really good self defence skills and I believe this is an important skill in as they grow up into their adolescent years. I personally love watching the classes and seeing him developing his skills. The instructors are amazing and I strongly recommend this class.

Fantastic experience: My son absolutely loves going to his classes here at Unleash Self Defence. The instructors are brilliant, very knowledgeable, encouraging, friendly and update us on our child's progress - we feel like family. They truly want every student to succeed and do their best to help not only with the physical aspect, but with the important life lessons along the way that are essential to understand in order to live your best life. There is a good balance of both physical movement as well as teaching the kids the skills to be calm, more focused and disciplined. Unleash is not only a place to learn Martial Arts, it is a place where all of the lessons are taught around real life such as developing defence skills. These were all reasons why I wanted to enroll my son here as he generally has very chaotic energy and needs an activity that can allow him to burn off some of that energy while still learning the life lessons of good behavior and having discipline. Our son has built up incredible confidence, focus, and physical strength, we could not be happier. UNLEASH IS THE BEST!

Fantastic experience: Our kids absolutely adore Unleashed! We've seen them respond so well to the easy to follow - with just the right amount of fun challenge - physical teaching. They also have flourished under the principles of respect for yourself and others that are taught along the way. For us as parents it gives us more confidence that, when faced with unavoidable conflict on the playground, or anywhere else, that they will respond - not rashly or helplessly - but appropriately.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but praise for Unleash Self Defence (rebranded from the old Defence Lab Training name). I joined in June '24 and can confidently say it's the best experience I have had with any kind of self defense/fighting class. It's an intense workout (I would argue even for those that are cardio fit) where you learn valuable, real-life self-defense skills. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and you will see families training together, which is lovely to see, and it's all down to how Tahir, Tehseen, Eshan and Farhaj make everyone feel welcome and care for our development. After being with the class for only a month and Tahir noticing my previous fighting experience, I was invited to my first grading, which to me shows they're doing the right thing for students, not holding someone back if they think they're ready just so they can attend more classes and pay another month or two in membership fees for no reason. :) All in all, can't recommend these classes enough. Well worth the money.

Fantastic experience: My son (7) has been going for about a year and loves it! Tehseen is great with the kids, perfectly judging the right level of fun and teaching for them. The classes encompass a nice range of real-world techniques for their age group (blocking, punches, kicks, wrestling) that they can easily get to grips with, and through repeated practice build up speed and confidence. He especially loves the wrestling :)

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Defence Lab, my children and husband really look forward to their weekly training, and to be honest, it’s the only club that they have all wanted to continue! My teenager actually gets ready for class each week without us having to ask him which is a rarity in our house as prior to starting training, we could never get him to put his phone down! Most of all, I love seeing their confidence increase a bit more each week that they attend. They all come home from classes wanting to tell me everything that they have learnt! Fantastic experience: We joined Defence Lab in January '24 because my son was being bullied at school, had no confidence and didn't want to share much with us or with the teachers. And so we decided that things need to change and luckily we found Defence Lab training online. Farhaj, his daughters and the rest of the team from Team STORM @ Defence Lab Training have been amazing with both of my children (age 11 & 8) and we would highly recommend them. The team takes time before and after each class to have a quick catch up with each child and find out how they are feeling and how their week's been. That shows how much they care about their students and that what they do it's not just a job. My children love attending Defence Lab classes and in the short amount of time they've been training, we`ve noticed a massive improvement in their confidence, attitude and communicational skills. These positive changes have been recognised by their teachers at school which makes me even more proud of them. Thank you Farhaj + team for all of your dedication and hard work

Fantastic experience: Defence lab uses mixed martial arts in the form of self-defence for all ages. My child has been attending for well over a year now and having signed up due to shyness and lack of confidence, I can now say it’s helped his confidence quite a lot and I can rest easy knowing he can defend himself if he needed to, he’s already put it to the test on his friends during a Judo vs MMA fight. He won. The instructors are approachable and accommodating, teach them discipline and good form until they get it right but still have fun in doing so. I would sign myself up if I had the funds and fitness.

Fantastic experience: What can I say? I really like this training; the tutors are well experienced, friendly, and patient fortunately! What I really like is the science behind it all; it's been very well thought through and the reason for each attach and counter measure is explained; I would definitely recommend gicing this a go. In fact come to the Teddington sessions and I'll see you there! Not for a fight you understand - for the training ;-)

My eldest son has autism, Farhan was very patient and encouraging. My daughter loved it and they both had an enormous amount to fun. Highly recommend Defence Lab as a student and parent. My daughter also commented that she prefer DL to Taekwondo because she thinks DL would actually work if she were ever bullied at school.

They will build their confidence, learn invaluable defence skills (real-life, actionable, street defence skills) in a disciplined but very fun way. My son does not skip this class under any condition, he absolutely loves it. The coaches have an impressive approach in keeping the kids engaged, focused and wanting to get better week on week. I highly recommend DL training with Tahir and the team.

The knowledge and skills I gained have not only boosted my confidence but have also given me a greater sense of personal safety and security. I would highly recommend these self-defense classes to anyone looking to enhance their personal well-being and self-assurance. From the moment I stepped into the class, I was greeted by a team of dedicated instructors who radiated enthusiasm and expertise. Their passion for teaching self-defense was evident, and their ability to create a supportive and inclusive environment was exceptional. Regardless of age, gender, or fitness level, every participant was treated with respect and given equal attention. One of the aspects that truly stood out to me was the comprehensive curriculum. The classes covered a wide range of techniques, including effective strikes, blocks, and holds, as well as practical strategies for real-life situations. The instructors took the time to explain the reasoning behind each technique and ensured that we understood the underlying principles. It was evident that their goal was to equip us with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect ourselves in any potential threats.

Fantastic experience: Recently took a women's self-defence course which took place on a Saturday over 3hrs. As a smaller frame female - i found the course very useful and practical with hands on work. I had a good partner who was serious about learning (we both ended up happily bruised) and really tried hard with the techniques. Tahir and his assistants and were super helpful during the sparring exercises. The volume of skills learned was not overwhelming and allowed us to build upon them. Tahir is a great instructor and teaches with empathy and understanding. They have a build on course for women afterwards which I look forward to taking. And although I came out more confident from the course, I am always mindful that I could do more to protect myself and practice the techniques learned. It is a very good course, at a fair price, with very good instructors and keen attendees.

Fantastic experience: I have attended classes since October 2017 and can truly say I have enjoyed all of them! The team has been amazing; they are incredibly knowledgeable, skilled as well as funny! It's a really safe and friendly environment which gave me the courage to continue self defence classes even when things were difficult for me. As some one recovering from assaults in the past, this environment has had remarkable impact on my own journey and development. One major thing that has stood out to me is how the training is not only physical, so working on our attitudes and mindsets has been key to breakthrough. In my case, I went from feeling totally powerless to having my 'voice' restored. The fact that the techniques are so applicable in real life has meant I developed genuine confidence when I am out in the community, especially knowing how to handle multiple people at the same time. The personal safety aspect of it has been a regular part of classes also, focusing on prevention. I am very grateful that a quality service like this is in my local area. Fantastic experience: I travel from Tooting to Worcester Park so my kids can attend this excellent self-defence class every Sunday. Tahir and his team teach the kids in such an enthusiastic, thoughtful, safe and fun way. The skills taught are not only physical/practical but cover the psychological side of things too which is invaluable and rare. Tahir is also agile in his approach, and has on occasion tailored the lessons in response to recent real life situations/threats. This class will not teach your child to be a cage fighter, but they will learn how to stop one in their tracks if needed! They will most certainly learn essential practical skills on how to defend against multiple bullies and how to get away if the unfortunate situation arises. I have martial art experience myself and I wish these guys were around when I was her age. Well done Tahir and team and thank you for making a positive difference to my daughters life and safety.

Fantastic experience: I recently enrolled my 11 year old daughter at the defence lab training in Twickenham at Stanley Primary School. Shes been attending there 2 months and the difference is amazing. I cannot praise Farhaj and his wonderful team enough. If your looking for smart ,confidence building self defence thats realistic in todays aggresive world then defence lab training is the best decision you can make for yourself or your child.

Fantastic experience: My 4((nearly 5) year old boy goes to a Sunday morning class and loves it. The coaches are excellent with the children and do a great job at getting the best out of them. The children are always kept engaged and active, and the sessions are really fun with just the right amount of discipline and technique for their age. My son has tried a number of different activities but has enjoyed this the most and always looks forward to his class. The whole thing is run very professionally and all of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. They remembered my and my son's name immediately upon us walking through the door for his taster session - great first impression.

Fantastic experience: We started taking lessons last summer and we love it. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming and even if you are not super fit the instructors makes it work for you and your level. Both the adult classes and the kids classes are great fun: our children love taking part and are very motivated to come each week and learn new skills. These guys are great! Fantastic experience: I've been looking for a place to learn this style ever since the Batman trilogy was out, so grateful to have found this DL club, with amazing coaching, a great atmosphere, and a fantastic style that can teach you how to better defend yourself from an attack after one class. The techniques are so intuitive that you'll see the benefit of learning them instantly. Despite having invested time in martial arts for a few years, I never felt as if I had as good a tool to defend from an unknown and unprepared attack as I do with the techniques from DL. Friendly and inclusive atmosphere, with great training.

Fantastic experience: Started my kids at Defence lab and i enjoyed watching them so much i decided to give it a go myself. After 20 years of boxing it was great to also work with a complete new range of moves and skills. I really enjoy the sessions and gain a wealth of knowledge each time, whilst also getting a good workout. i look forward to what i am going to next. The team are great and they are always willing to go into detail when required. I like the fact they do not try to flood you with information and break things down, this helps you to retain the knowledge.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Defence Lab Training for nearly 4 years now. I was struggling with my confidence after I had to run away from a gang, I found it hard to leave the house, I changed my route to work. My wife had enough and found DL on line. My taster session was awesome the guys were so welcoming with such a family atmosphere. My confidence has improved and I have learned life skills that keep evolving more and more. Also my fitness has improved so much. The classes are a good mix of fun and serious street based drills and scenarios. I can highly recommend Defence Lab Training!

Fantastic experience: I have two daughters. As they grow, as a parent I am always worried about preparing them for life, and giving them the skills to keep them healthy, confident and safe. When my eldest turned 5, I wanted her to start in some form of self defence class. I spent a lot of time weighing up the many options. I didn’t care about the cultural aspects of a martial art (as ignorant as that sounds) or the ceremony involved, or the pageantry in showing off skills like chopping wooden planks with hands: I simply wanted my daughter to be able to fight to defend herself and escape a scary situation. I chose Defence Lab because defending yourself against attack is the entire focus of the class. My daughter has been attending Defence Lab for nearly a year. I have seen clear developmental milestones achieved as she progresses through the course: 1) self control and focus have improved. She still gets fidgety, because she is a child, but her ability to focus improves every week. She can now focus for a solid 40 minutes: and she is totally enraptured by the class. She absolutely loves interacting with Farhaj and his fantastic family, and practicing new skills with her classmates. 2) confidence in her physicality has greatly improved. My daughter is very petite- always the smallest kid in her class, and Defence Lab continues to help her cultivate skills that bolster her self-belief and prepare her for everyday situations in which she might be the smallest person, but she has strategic skills to handle much bigger opponents. 3) a positive attitude is so important when facing new challenges, and every week at Defence Lab is a new challenge. My daughter used to be her own worst enemy, and would be easily frustrated if she wasn’t the best at something right away. She still has moments of frustration and envy, but she is learning to work through those emotions to focus on training and developing. 4) finally, and most importantly, she has already developed real self defence skills. Without even thinking about what she is doing, she naturally ‘blocks’ and positions to protect herself in a range of different situations. I’ve seen her use these skills to her advantage on the football pitch, and in the playground. I’ve seen so many benefits from attending Defence Lab, that I feel invested in Farhaj and his family: I highly recommend this class to anyone. It’s a simple as that: this course is essential, especially for your daughters!

Fantastic experience: Tahir and team are amazing. The classes are professionally run, great fun, good exercise, plus you’re learning what could prove to be an invaluable skill. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Positive experience: We joined DL nearly 3 years ago. My son enjoys the physical training and mental attitude the instructors teach. It is interactive & realistic training for the possibility of defending yourself from being attacked outside. During lockdown they continued to train via Zoom class, at times it was the only activity we had on the calendar. We are extremely grateful for the commitment from the Croydon team during that difficult period. Unfortunately, we had to transfer from the Croydon venue as the training site became unavailable. We would have much preferred to be within a local distance to home and to keep training under Farhaj & family, alas it wasn't an option. Transferring to Morden was the only other option, Tahir & family show the same mental toughness and enthusiasm in teaching some simple and some very complex sequences made all the more enjoyable by adding music and asking the kids questions to answer. We look forward to our 4 year old joining the sessions soon. It's a long way to drive on Sunday morning hence the 4 star review, and we hope there will be another Croydon venue in the future. Fantastic experience: My two kids go to Defence Lab. The instructors are very capable to instruct different age groups accordingly. They teach life saving skills in a very fun way. I observed a huge confidence boost in my kids. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic experience: I went to a taster session and enjoyed it very much, the people are great and make you feel welcome and not intimidated like in some martial art classes. Also, Tahir is a 5 starts instructor he has a great approach in the way he explains the techniques and makes you feel part of the team from the moment you walk in. Unfortunately, I can't join the classes at the moment but will certainly do in the future.
