Fantastic experience: My 4 year old (who obviously has super Hulk strength) started going to Martial Arts School when he was 3, nearly been there a year now and he has loved every minute of it. Before writing this review I asked him how many stars would he give Martial Arts School 5 being the most. His exact words “I give it 10 mummy! I love it!” Staff are superb with all the kids that attend. Just Amazing!

Fantastic experience: Tillie absolutely loves going to x martial arts and has gained great confidence and made friends, Tillie started at the age of 4 and is now 9 became a world champion last year and earner her black belt. The school is amazing the instructors are world class and the facilities are out of this world I would say definitely up there with one of the best dojos in the UK. Definitely recommend to everyone the potential they have got out of Tillie is amazing and it's turned Tillie into such a respectful child in class and out of class. Fantastic experience: XMA has become such a massive part of my family’s life. My daughter, husband and I all attend three times a week, and absolutely love it! It’s not just the sport we enjoy doing, but also the community that has come with it. The other members have become a big part of our social life, and all of the staff members have become our friends. My daughter adores her instructors. They are wonderful mentors for the children and educate them both in respect and discipline, while also making it fun and very enjoyable. She also attends the summer camp which I highly recommend, and wish I could attend too! All of the staff go above and beyond. We had a baby this year and they have helped us so much in so many different ways. It is a very family friendly school and I really encourage other families to join. I can also say it’s wonderful for your marriage! Yes you get to kick and punch your spouse, but on the other hand, my husband and I have so much fun sparring together. We laugh every session, and encourage and praise one another and it has done us wonders! I cannot speak more highly of XMA, it’s a fantastic school for all ages.

Fantastic experience: As a family we have gained so much from joining X martial Arts , my children’s confidence has grown so much , the instructors are fantastic role models for them to look up to and learn from , it has helped me to become physically more fit than I’ve been in many years and really made a positive change to my life , we have made lovely friends and we look forward to attending our classes every week . All the staff are amazing , always welcoming you with a smile , a chat and encouraging every single person on their own martial arts journey . Fantastic experience: Me and my sons have been coming to X Martial Arts now for around 6 years. We really look forward to our sessions, the instructors are all amazing at what they do! Not only do they make the sessions fun, they are always there to help with techniques and to give good advise. We all love it, and will hopefully be going for another 6 years!

Fantastic experience: My son has been training at XMA for four months now, the change in him as been incredible, his confidence, manners, and overall attitude have all risen. They run plenty of sessions weekly so there's plenty of opportunity to get in and train. They also run separate events such as summer camps and martial arts events throughout the year, the team are very friendly and work great with kids if all ages and adults. I couldn't recommend them enough. UPDATE!!! Now just over a year in, and my son continues to go from strength to strength, he's now competed in multiple club lead competions and Championships and still continues to grow and develop as a young man. The staff and instructors continue to raise the bar and help all those taking part in 3-5 age group improve and develop. If you're looking for Martial Arts School for your children them stop, you've just found it.

Fantastic experience: My journey at X Martial Arts has been transformational. I started in 2015 with very little confidence and in a bad place. All the instructors were very supportive and welcoming and I trained 3 times a week for 4 years to earn my black belt. It’s such an incredible community and in that time I met so many new friends. I was again supported in the following years to become an instructor and school owner, and I’m proud to be able to give back the benefits that I was given. I’m honestly not sure where I’d be if I hadn’t found XMA. I’d highly recommend it to anyone considering starting martial arts or already training! Everyone is so friendly and patient and has made sure he integrates well into the class. I would recommend to any one who wants their child to practice martial arts and get regular exercise.

Fantastic experience: Joining X Martial Arts has in no small way changed our lives! What started as a way for our boys to learn self defence has developed into us being part of the full X Martial Arts community; helping out as SWAT members, joining the Competition Team, all apart from our youngest earning our black belts (youngest soon to follow no doubt) and Mrs H now working in the team. Last year being part of the X Martial Arts competition Team gave us the opportunity to compete at an international level as part of the England team, with our eldest boys winning world titles in Ireland. They would not have got there without the support and encouragement from the instructors and coaches at X Martial Arts. The instructors are all second to none, with countless world titles between them all. They are great role models to the children and adults alike, and really know how to get the most from the students in their classes. We love being part of the community.

Fantastic experience: What can I say, other than echoing all the positive comments on xmartial arts. Everything about this place is amazing not just the instructors but the front of house staff as well everyone is welcoming and professional.. This place has produced multiple WKC champions for a reason.. I've been going for a little over a year and I've never looked back, my wife and son have also recently joined and they are also in love with coming to Xmartial arts. If you are thinking about doing kickboxing book an introduction lesson and you won't look back.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't managed to find a class which would include my son before who has autism and ADHD but he loves his classes with X Martial Arts and they do so much to help him succeed.

Fantastic experience: Just joined the Harrogate class as I was looking for something for me to get into both mentally and physically as a parent. Did the 4 week programme and really enjoyed it so I've joined up. If your looking for something for yourself to enjoy I'd highly recommend it as they're clearly very knowledgeable , patient and enthusiastic about what they do. 10/10.

When she began as a white belt I wondered if it was just a fad or long term / lifelong journey- she is testing for red/ black next time , just one belt away from her Black and I am so proud of the commitment and self discipline she has shown to her sport and club - she has grown in confidence , her social skills and Manners are impeccable and I truly believe the environment she is part of at xma is a crucial part of this development.

Fantastic experience: I couldnt recommend this place enough i cant keep my son away from this place. I was worried it was to expensive but its worth every single penny. Harley gets ready for martial arts and and walks himself there without me even asking him. Harls has such a layed back personality and everyone worried about him been so quiet and not having much confidence but he goes to martial arts even if nobody he knows is attending and will spar with anyone. He comes home everynight telling me all about it and what he has learnt. I really couldnt recommend this more.

Fantastic experience: My boy now 7 is still really enjoying x martial arts.I it has embedded excellent discipline which is replicated across other sports clubs and school. The team here are really friendly Jane and Beth are so welcoming to existing and new members. They will help show you the ropes when you come for your taster session This is fantastic for children my child has been going since he was 3. The staff are extremely friendly and make sure the children have fun while embedding skills that they can use throughout their lives . It has really help my boy focus and build his confidence . The children work together as a team and it is great to see that they all help each other out no matter what the ability and age. The team works extremely hard to make the place enjoyable and inclusive.

Having seen and taken part in all aspects of what XMA has to offer I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Whether it’s fitness, weight loss, confidence building, self defence or competition you’ll get what you want out of XMA. I started at the same time as my daughter, just as she turned 3 and when I was 30, and the highlight of my time here was achieving my 1st Dan Black Belt at the same time as my her.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at X Martial Arts for 10 years now, martial arts has taught me so many core life skills like discipline, confidence and resilience which help me in day to day life both in and out of class. From a staff perspective it is amazing as well as being able to build a career whilst getting to meet so many people, I still have the opportunity to train and attend tournaments.

There is a great friendly, supportive and encouraging atmosphere there regardless of your age, fitness level or ability. Over the years, I have done , some form of training, in one way or another. we enrolled our Son 1st and before we knew it, we were training as a family. All the Instructors are very professional and are full of knowledge and encouragement and the members are all really friendly too. Going back to my personal training, over the years, I have never been in an Environment like X MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOLS. The school is always tidy and clean, well mannered and full of respect, which is hard to find in this sort of environment ( Gyms ) . From Instructors - Staff and from members, it’s a very welcoming environment and happy place to keep fit, make friends & even go on to Compete in competitions, you are always supported and encouraged, in what ever training you wish to do. After 9 years, we still enjoy Martial Arts and we are still learning new skills and developing as individuals. I, we, can’t recommend X MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOLS enough.

Fantastic experience: My son has attended X Martial Arts for over 2 years now. It is an absolutely fantastic place and he has learnt so much. It teaches him discipline; to have good manners; to work hard; to not give up; to be healthy; I could go on ... He's a Blue belt now and each week is so keen to attend. The staff make sure every minute of each session is spent productively. It's extremely well run and thought out. They recognise your child's achievements too and praise them by either sending postcards home or making your child Student of the class. They also give Merits at Belt Testing which my son got last time he tested and that really made him even more passionate. The viewing area is great with big TVs so you can see your child. I think it's worth the money and I'm grateful this facility is available as I think it's teaching my son essential skills for life. Thanks to all the XMA team!

Fantastic experience: We were lucky enough to find this school after moving to York. They had been very friendly and supportive with my young son. He was not very keen on going to the mat and starting the kick off! They just gave him more professional support and in no time, he was confident to start his journey. He now waits for his classes with lots of enthusiasm. Highly recommended!
