Hybrid Fitness Hove

Negative experience: Signed up in August and of course they took the payment.... Have been waiting 3 months for the gym to open. Have now recieved an email saying the director has gone AWOL. No offer with regards to refund and all emails ignored. What a way to ruin the Hybrid Fitness name!

Negative experience: Joke of an establishment took my money, can't even open, can't even tell me if I'll get my money back as the director has gone AWOL.

Negative experience: Was keen to join and take advantage of the early membership offers as that's how franchises often work; you make an investment first. I joined expecting it to open on 4th October, then had an email to say there were problems with the lease so it would be January. Depsite it feeling a bit 'fishy', I gave them the benefit of the doubt as the work did seem to be going ahead on site and it's all been rebranded. Today I get an email to say the Director has gone AWOL. I replied to the email to say I'd like my deposit back (in fairness they only ever took the first month as a holding subscription) but the auto response says the Director of Canary Wharf has gone AWOL and, until the gym is placed into administration, no one will get their deposit back. Is it the same Director? I can see on Google Canary Wharf is temporarily closed. Have they got 2 Directors who have done the same thing? Very damaging for the reputation of Mr Thompson!

Negative experience: Signed up and paid early bird joining fee six months ago when it was due to open in July. Heard nothing and have heard nothing since, unless I have emailed them. Really poor comms and the gym has still not yet opened. Neighbours who've not paid up receive newsletters? Not impressed. Adapt Fitness on Portland Road much better customer service. In response to George’s review below. George, despite your concerns about my reading ability I understood exactly what Hybrid was saying when I was reeled in by the early bird offer. They have given several opening months and, missed every one of them, and contacted me only once. I know some people receive regular newsletters. I am not one of them. TBH I don’t need another newsletter I need a gym that actually opens and delivers what they promised. UPDATE 28th November 2023. Just found out from our local WhatsApp group that the gym won't be opening at all. What a disappointment! I'm hoping another sports company steps in, conducts proper due diligence, and opens a much-needed gym in that space. Fingers crossed for a refund.

Fantastic experience: After reading the last few reviews that were 1 star I'd like to put my own experience. When I heard about hybrid I went too the website and from there after looking at what is was going to be like I thought I'd sign up. It was explained that I would pay the first month up front and that the membership would start when it opens and I would then be charged monthly after that. I've also received emails each month stating that the gym opening has had tp be postponed. I I'm sure everyone else has had the opportunity to read but maybe they didn't have the time to read it thoroughly before signing up. I thought I'd put this review up as the only other 3 reviews have been 1 stay and I think from my experience they are unfair.

Negative experience: They got me to sign up stating the gym would be open within the next few weeks, the website was terrible and the gym isn’t open in anyway. The 24 hour fitness near hive station is much better and less expensive, plus is open now and doesn’t charge you for time before it’s open. Cancelling the gym is also extremely hard as they don’t have functioning websites. Overall don’t sign up. It’s a terrible establishment.
