PureGym London Sidcup - Opening Soon!

Negative experience: Paid for a membership in 2023, and the offer was £12.99 a month for a year. I’ve seen more of this gym on google maps than an actual building! Puregym have not responded to my emails, so hopefully they respond here….. Is this Sidcup puregym ever opening? If not please send over my refund.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, use it all the time, can’t wait for it to open for complete public use, been a member since March 2013!!!

Fantastic experience: I popped in and they said expected opening date for the gym is Summer 2024. I signed up and yes they took money upfront but I knew this was the deal. No surprise there. Can’t wait for this 24 hour gym to open in the area as there is nothing like it on the Lamorbey side of Sidcup. Appreciate patience is needed here as construction takes time.

Negative experience: It's been a year since I paid the upfront deposit and the gym is not opened yet. This is disgusting. I don't see this gym opening anytime soon

Negative experience: I don’t see this opening any time soon. The landlord to the flats never informed the new occupants about a gym being built below. A lot of the new owners have now gone to bexley council and therefore pure gym has now stopped to construction work until this all gets resolved

Negative experience: Why would anyone pay upfront for a gym that has no idea of an opening date. If you pay for a service you expect a service. This is some sort of scam getting people to pay for a non existent gym and no idea of when it will exist. The present state of the building would indicate that both will be opening for a few months yet. Don’t give your money to this company until they give a firm date of opening.

Negative experience: I joined in May 2023 and paid a joining fee and first months membership. Since then there has been no comms at all about when it will be opening. I had assumed it would be within a couple of months of the promo flyer being dropped through my door asking us to join up. I’ve messaged many times and just get a chat bot telling me to check the website for info which just says ‘coming soon’. Please respond to this review to let us know when you will be opening. Either that or refund us the joining fee & membership paid 7 months ago. Thanks

Negative experience: Delayed again indefinitely!!! Now been told January is not happening and no actual date given bit of a joke now.

Negative experience: ''Kent Online'' website. A PureGym spokesperson said: “We are excited to be bringing affordable, flexible fitness to Sidcup in late summer 2023.'' Last I heard September 2023 but judging by state of site now I doubt they will get close. Stop taking peoples money.

Negative experience: Pure Gym took a joining fee plus the first month fee upfront when I joined following their promotion of the Sidcup Gym. It's now month 4 and I can't get any indication of when it opens. Feels like a scam!

Negative experience: Paid for first month and joining fee. Passed the location the other day and not even building isn't even close to being finished. The windows aren't even in yet. Won't be opening anytime soon as advertised.

Negative experience: I would like a refund . I’ve been signed up for 3 months and no sign of opening anytime soon . How can you take money from your customers when you dont have an opening date ?

Positive experience: Construction work still going might take at least 1 year to open.

Negative experience: why have puregym taken money off customers for the new gym in sidcup without an opening date in sight

Negative experience: I think I am going to report this to trading standards. Taking money for basically nothing is against the law. Zero communication....I would have joined another gym if I knew would take 3++++ months for it to open.

Negative experience: Have signed customers up for months, but refuse to give any updates on when the gym will open other than "coming soon". This is terrible customer treatment. Puregym - provide an update and give more transparency, you would gain more goodwill and trust. Right now, you are annoying those who have signed up due to you not showing them the respect of any timeline update. You must know an approximate date - provide it to customers!!!

Fantastic experience: I can’t believe what I’m reading. I was eager to join due to their introductory offer, but there’s no indication of their opening date on their website. For them to reply and say it will be open asap can mean any time, I’m just really shocked that they’re signing people up, taking their money and not even providing an estimated date to manage peoples expectations.

Negative experience: How can you take money from people when you dont have an opening date? How can you also not have an opening date or at least an approx time frame? All projects have an estimated finish. I would like to sign up but for the sake of transparency I think Pure Gym needs to stop dangling a carrot at potential customers, stop taking monthly payments from customers for a site that is not open and be honest with what stage of refurbishment this is in!
