Motion Health Club Chelsea: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Top-notch facilities, excellent staff, and a perfect mix of fitness and relaxation. The gym is well-equipped, and the spa is pure bliss. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: A had a great massage there. All members of staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice gym as well.
Fantastic experience: My kinda health club not overly busy and facilities were good myself and my girlfriend enjoyed a relaxing swim then sauna followed by a nice glass of champagne in the hotel bar will definitely return when back in london
Negative experience: Shocking experience. The pool was so cold which was the whole point of having a relaxation. All they can compensate u for is to come back in 3 months time to a cold pool again... no chance. Sauna is separate rooms too.
Negative experience: I visited Motion Health Club Chelsea with my husband for his birthday, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations for a spa associated with a 5-star hotel. Several issues led me to rate this place 2 stars. Firstly, the changing rooms for both women and men have stairs that become wet and slippery, creating a significant hazard. This setup is not ideal for couples as the sauna and steam rooms are separate, which disrupts the idea of relaxing together. Additionally, accessing the sauna and steam room from the pool involves navigating stairs, further increasing the slip hazard despite the warning signs. The poolside area is also unmanned, adding to safety concerns. The apples provided were bruised, a complaint I had seen in reviews from two months ago, indicating no improvement in this aspect. Moreover, the facility is not wheelchair accessible, with the men's changing rooms located two flights of stairs up and the pool a flight of stairs down. On the positive side, the atmosphere was relaxing, there were sunbeds by the pool, and the staff was friendly and very helpful. For improvement, I suggest installing anti-slip flooring along the pool and staircases as an urgent measure. Making the steam rooms and saunas unisex would be more accommodating for couples. Additionally, providing disabled changing facilities on the ground floor with ramps for easy access would make the club more inclusive.
Negative experience: I had a very underwhelming experience here a few weeks ago, which I complained about via email as I felt that the experience wasn’t worth what I had paid. I have had a response but I was frankly disappointed in that too. I was told, essentially, that I should’ve brought everything up on the day, even though they felt either inherent to the experience and/or things that I doubt would’ve been able to be fixed within the 4 hour timeslot we had booked - such as poor refreshments (bruised apples and no other fruit, despite the reply stating that fruit was checked throughout the day and always fresh. There also are no dairy free milk options.), a broken light in the steam room, the pool area being noisy and cold, and none of the lockers working. When you only have limited time at a place, and plans afterwards, you don’t want to spend time going back and forth to reception. I did at one point ask for another robe, as I’d briefly put mine down to use the toilet, and then it had been taken from the changing room when I returned, so I didn’t want to burden the receptionist with requests that I don’t think she would’ve been able to fix for the entire time we were there. It’s a poor experience and shocking value for money. I also checked my email to see if, as asserted in the reply, that it was disclosed that the sauna/steam rooms were separated by gender in each changing room, and I genuinely can’t find that information in anything that was sent to me. Fair enough in that it’s not advertised that the facility has a jacuzzi, which is something I’d noted and addressed in the reply, however this is frankly surprising as most other pools & spas you would visit would have one for that price point. I’ve been to a lot of leisure and spa facilities at various price points, including ones in hotels, and this is by far the worst I’ve experienced. I would strongly advise people to go elsewhere.
Negative experience: I had an underwhelming experience at your spa on 24th April, which did not meet the expected levels of comfort and service. I bought a day pass aiming for a relaxing day using all your facilities, but instead, I encountered numerous interruptions. Crucial amenities such as the steam room and pool were closed until noon, significantly reducing the value of the morning portion of the pass. The schedule was poorly managed, with treatments booked at 12 pm and 1:30 pm, creating long waits in between and a disjointed experience. Moreover, a swim lesson took over the pool right after it opened at 1 pm. The sauna was also out of order, as its door wouldn't stay shut. Additional issues included out-of-service lockers and ongoing painting in the changing rooms, which should not happen during guest hours. There were also hygiene concerns with stained paper cups in the spa area. Accessing services was a challenge; my guest and I were initially refused drinks, and we had to assert our status as paying guests, which was both embarrassing and unnecessary. This visit was far from the seamless and high-quality experience I anticipated.
Negative experience: DONT VISIT !!!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY !!! The receptionist Ali was very disrespectful and unpleasant! It's a shame that you hide under chelsee hotel name but you poor gym with 0 Spa facilities Shame on you
Negative experience: Experienced racism and classism from a member of the Club whilst in the women’s changing room. The Club member said (and I was within earshot) that the prices should be increased so that the “right sort of people” attend the establishment and a member of staff nodded in agreement. Ironically, some of the lockers in the women’s changing rooms were broken and I noticed that there were flies in the shower area. I recommend you go elsewhere as there are likely to be other options that don’t include racist/classist people, staff members that don’t tolerate this and are actually clean.
Positive experience: Lovely staff hence not a one start Average and very small gym area Broken lockers in changing rooms Unsafe for valuables
Fantastic experience: The gym is quite small and typically very quiet, maximum number of people I saw there was 5. There are free weights and some machines, including cardio. No bar rack, no pull up bar. But you can still cover pretty much all major muscle groups. Recommend for people who like to work out in peace, without queueing for equipment. There's a 3 lane 17-meter pool that's also typically empty, a sauna and a steam room to relax after a workout.
