Negative experience: This was a great gym during the virgin era Nuffield bought these premises and did little to nothing to improve the facilities. Years of neglect, poor unsanitary conditions that would have left many unwell upon visiting the spa is unquantifiable as most don’t return. During extremely busy times, you have members dying their hair, shaving body hair and clogging drains. Reported without any notice from the teams. All in all, needs tearing down and investment.

Negative experience: I got a monthly membership thinking I would renew as I wanted but turns out the long agreement (which they ridiculously expect someone getting a gym membership to read) states that they auto renew. I then tried to cancel the membership after the following month was deducted and the app said the only way is to call the home gym which I did multiple times with no answer (I was out of the country). They deducted 2 months fee due to this. When I returned I went to the gym and asked to cancel the membership and they did cancel it for me but they said the following month would still be deducted since I came after the 1st of the month (again hidden in the agreement). I believe these people deal in bad faith to continue to deduct your money. Never again going to Nuffield Health.

Positive experience: Place is nice but staff is very rude, specially receptionists who are very rude to the point where i doubt my patience but for the sake of keeping my membership i say nothing, cant really do anything about it as the managers always seem to take sides with their staff or just walk off when confronted, please resolve this as it is very very ill mannered

Negative experience: It’s filthy and freezing. The changing rooms are unbearably hot, like a sauna, while the gym floor is so cold it might as well be the North Pole. It honestly feels like they’re deliberately trying to drive members away.

Negative experience: I only use this gym for spa. Most the time jacuzzi is broken!, or temprature. When asked staff always say it’s working. Disgusting decor. Rather than replace and clean, probably easier to gut out/refurb.

Negative experience: It’s got an extremely low rating for a reason. Premium gym £100+ pm and you get rude staff that are too lazy to provide a towel service. Instead they point over at towels ‘provided by another company’ that they don’t know the price of. (They’re £10 btw). Most Nuffields provide a towel service. Changing rooms are disgusting and dated. What a shambles..

After 8 years of membership, today was my last straw. I have decided to change gyms because I cannot see any reason to pay almost 100 quid for this kind of quality.

Negative experience: Gym lacks basic etiquette from members - weights everywhere nothing put back in its place and everything is racked. Staff/ PTs don’t even bother to clear plates and DBs up. Spa not working and the other day you see a half eaten banana and an innocent smoothie dashed across the space. Spa very worn down titles coming off and question the hygiene. A lot of gym equipment including machines and the water tap out of use, machine wise I think I counted about 4 and staff advised the company no longer exists so repair work is difficult and replacement is expensive. Classes don’t start till 9/10 most mornings so not convenient before work. Free weight area small. Good studio and spin space a lot of cardio machines. No stair master only a stepper. Social media hasn’t been updated in over a year - no engagement or updates for members. Very basic easy things - clean up and engage ? Demonstrates the staff and brand.

Negative experience: This Gym was at its best when it used to be owned by Virgin Active !! The Gym now is absolutely run down. Machines are always broken and take months to repair. If you want to go in for a 40min workout you end up spending double that amount of time due to broken machines and having to wait around. I'm also a member of the Newbury Nuffield & Reading Nuffield gyms and when a machines breaks down in those it's repaired within 2 weeks max. The gym recently decided to cut back on hand sanitizer machines and left a few the wipe stations out, all this has done is left the gym floors littered with wipes and bins overflowing. The water fountains are old and have mould around them. The gym has a suggestion/ comments process but everytime you make a suggestion to improve the gym it's always met with a negative response. Members leave there bags and jackets laying around because they can't be arsed to go to the lockers. Staff don't challenge these users. When you consider how far most Gyms have progressed e.g (ultra flex gym) this gym is far behind. ALSO THE CAR PARK is an absolute joke there are no parking restrictions even though there are signs everywhere. You can park how you want where you want. people parking in the disabled bays without badges.

Positive experience: This place has gone downhill massively over the years, equipment old, wet facilities 50/50 if working or not! I have been to many Nuffield Health gyms and this is the worst one I’ve ever been.. showers broken, air conditioning not working right in the changing rooms. On a positive nice big gym but I think the footfall is too much for the gym in my opinion!

Negative experience: I received a code from nuffield for 7 day trial. When Arrived employees erin told me its not valid and this was false ad advertising blaming their marketing team. So whos at fault? I hope this lack of training for employees is dealt with

Negative experience: I am a member .. But if I could, I would give them a 0 ( ZERO ) stars rating... On daily basis many of the facilities are not working or not available or ... Most of the staff there are not aware of sorroundings as they re busy talking with eath other ...so one can come and go or pass by them without even being noticed... The only reason I go there is the pool otherwise I wouldnt even use that gym for free... I absolutely do not recommend it...

Parking can be a nightmare with very tight bays ️, making it tricky at busy times. They’ve recently renovated the steam room, but it takes ages to actually steam up, so I’m not sure how well it works . Could be better for the price!

Negative experience: So many damning reports for this gym & spa facilities (or lack of), and rightfully so. This place has gone from being extremely well maintained and run a few years back, to being the absolute worst now. I struggle to see how anyone can justify paying their monthly fees (or any fees) considering the state of their equipment, filthy facilities and awfully trained staff. I left this gym for good once they told me they couldn't justify paying the heating bills for the two hot jacuzzis, and so, blicked them with wood panels that look like they were bought from B&Q at £18 per panel. Absolutely disgusting. Only a fool would continue to pay for their cr*p!

Negative experience: Gym was 10x better when it was Virgin Active. The machines, weights and facilities are all so outdated and they still charge almost £100 a month. This place needs new ownership and a full refurbishment.

Negative experience: Tried to buy something as i was leaving around 7:50pm 15/09, I say hi at the Kiosk, Tiny Blonde girl gives no response, She scans my items, then shoves the card reader near me, I ask how much is it? she then moves the card machine closer. No communication whatsoever, very unprofessional in general. I get that its close to closing time but that service is so poor it's laughable, a simple hi and reading of the item total would suffice, I know the place is falling apart in general but you don't need to let that reflect in your own service and lose all self respect. I guess they hire anyone these days. Additionally the swimming pool lifeguards seem to allow their friends to run and up and down the pool area and jump in. I have never seen this allowed in any pool before they can be seriously injured then they will sue you guys for poor management once they hurt themselves. They also are very rowdy and the lifeguards seem very distracted once they are messing with friends in the pool. This is a huge health and saftey issue.

Negative experience: Very old machines, theres always a few that arent working. For the prices you're charging this doesn't make any sense. I went to another branch the other day and they had new machines and their gym was way more up to standard. This needs to be sorted!

Negative experience: Visited the gym after seeing a staff member had reviewed 3 other gyms and I wanted to see why he rated them so low and how he holds his own standards as a professional Gym is ok but our experience visiting was tainted by a member of staff called Marco, which was no surprise. He spent most of the time being arrogant and disrespectful about other gyms, 2 of which I happen to be good friends with the owners and the main reason for my visit. Maybe he needs a chat seeing as he applied for jobs at those gyms too

Negative experience: Please do not join this club as they don’t care about customers .I’ve had one month membership (I’ve joint online )with discount 40%to find out if is worth it ..I’ve lost my job and I could not provide the discount card and I’ve been told by management that I can’t come anymore and I’ve accepted it .. I told them that to cancel my membership verbally and since that time I did not used the facilities.. After 2 months some recovery debts company bullying me to pay £60 pounds for not giving 1 month notice .. Firstly is not me who’s cancelled the membership and was the employers also online I have not seen and terms and conditions or saying to give notice as it was only one month contract . Also , I have not been informed to fill any forms of cancellation or writing notice .. I’ve raised a complain to management and waiting for a formally outcome letter .

Negative experience: I have been using the facilities for about 10 months now. Machines constantly broken. Repairs seem to take months. Because it’s small gym, even at quiet times you have queue for whatever small number of machines that are still functioning. Management doesn’t seem to care at all. I have had enough and joined another gym. Simply not worth going here.

Negative experience: its not great but i think its the people that use it thats the problem. being a disabled user i rely on the disabled spaces near the gym and constantly they are filled with big exensive cars that are not permitted to park there without a blue badge. i have even been attacked when i challenged a driver about this. What makes it worse is most of the people with blue badges are using a relatives badge too just so they can park a bit closer. The equipments dated too and the pool was nice to swim in until they messed with the temprature so it was hotter than the jacuzi and impossible to swim in.

Negative experience: U can’t charge a single member a 90£ membership a month. This is far the most expensive place ever and the quality in the gym, pool and jacuzz isn’t that great. Missing stuff, non working equipment and issues at the showers.

Negative experience: The worst and the dirtyest gym in the area! I strongly don t recomand! Also..the prices are ridiculous expensive for what it is! Avoid going! Machines broken all the time, no weights, not enough legz machines, dumbels are having broken grips..spa is always dirty and disgusting! So many things to talk about this gym. NOT RECOMAND!

Fantastic experience: Sasha's Women's Weightlifting class is the best strength training class I've attended! I currently attend twice a week, and the class is getting busier week by week - there might even be a need for a third class in the evenings to accommodate more attendees. Sasha pushes everyone to their limits, and her workouts are always well-structured, incorporating changes to the routine in each class to keep things interesting. Negative experience: Argh! I've been a member for more than 8 years but had to eventually cancel. So many things are out of service. Every other day, members get texts to say something is closed or not working - hot water, pool, spa etc. No point raising issues with management - 1st got a passive aggressive email and then I was told to cancel my membership. Imagine wanting working machines. How silly of me! They should be charging 24hr, basic gym prices for what they offer. I'm being unfair on the small 24hr budget gym, perhaps!

Negative experience: Joined in January, noticed negative reviews which initially did put me off. Asked the lady who I signed up with what this was about, she mentioned that they had a disgruntled family who all left negative reviews and that no one really leaves positive reviews. Gave her the benefit of doubt, even though I knew she wasn't being completely truthful. Things that break, which is normal. Dont get fixed and still probably wont. Machines are ancient and at least 10-15 years old. If I was a new member looking to join, I really wouldn't join. Even if it was a couple mins drive or walk. I still wouldn't recommend it.

Negative experience: Update April 2024 - nothing has changed since last update. Surveys sent out, complaints raised - nothing changes. Update End of June 2023- some machines have been out of order for months now, the calf machine has worked for a week then out of order, upholstery still not fixed month later. Some dumbells are missing caps exposing pins - dangerous, some cables are painfully thin and worn-out - risk of snap. Unfortunately my feedback isn't being appreciated, the gym is now very poor value. Update May 2023 - upholstery has been mostly repaired in free weights area. Preacher bench, pectoral machine upholstery needs to be fixed as it digs into the skin and is very uncomfortable. I assume all machines are audited at least weekly. Adding a star back. Update April 2023- majority of machines are back in working order. However upholstery on some of the benches and machines is poor and mostly cracked. It shouldn't take months to sort as it is so obvious to even untrained eyes. Keeping the star off until situation improves Update - March 2023- a substantial number of machines have been out of order ( some have not been fixed since I joined) Some benches have now developed cracks and are now in desperate need of replacement. Surveys are being sent out , but I feel that my feedback is being ignored. Taking a star off. Foreword - I joined over a month ago. I cycle to this place as it is literally 5 minutes away from my house - thus my review will be biased based on location. I do NOT use locker rooms, car park, sauna or pool, I come in ready-dressed - workout - depart. I go OFF-PEAK ONLY. I have debated for a long time whether to join this gym based on recent reviews - some of them are fair, some are out of proportion. I visited this gym since it was part of Virgin Active many moons ago. Cleanliness - it is average - this isn't Third Space - granted for the price I would expect it to be better. The flooring is cleaned regularly, toilet upstairs is decent. Equipment - The upholstery on machines is pretty much as intended - the review from a year ago no longer applies - the equipment for the most part is in working order. There are a few machines that are out of order - but I saw them get fixed with some urgency. Decent variety of machines, including some fancier cable driven ones - Virgin Active inheritance? Cardio floor is in good working order - bar "energy saving" paper notices where staff just switch off machines to "save energy" - for the price I think this is unacceptable. The machines have seen better days - no TV available per machine - need to be upgraded at some point. No fancy escalators, skiers, climbers or next level Concepts/Pelotons - again this isn't Third Space. Free weights area - decent, can be crowded even during "off peak" times. Decent selection of Technogym dumbbells which have seen better days. Bench upholstery is acceptable, however stability is poor hence people stabilize them with weights - this requires an upgrade. Selection is decent for the majority of exercises. Very small selection of hammer plate-loaded machines. I cannot comment on the pool or sauna as I have no use case for these facilities. Reception and staff were professional so far and my initial sign-up was straight forward and easy. Drinks/Protein machines - dated vending machines that require you to pay at the reception - protein drinks are extremely poor value. TLDR - a no thrills gym that is a very overpriced - I would say its value is closer to 50-60£ a month MAX. I am paying for the convenience of location and machine selection to avoid injury - if your use case includes pool, sauna, bells and whistles - I would come in and inspect myself before agreeing to a contract - I recommend opting for a rolling contract for ease of exit if things change. A note to management - upgrade/stabilize benches, dumbbells as a minimum.

Negative experience: If I could give minus 10 stars I would! Having to even give 1 just to leave a review pains me! The gym is shocking, I have complained numerous times over 6 months but it clearly falls on deaf ears. The staff are lovely here but the gym itself and the equipment is on the brink of extinction. I'm here more for convenience as I work across the road however I feel like I pay £85 just to play on the turn style to go in and out. The best part of my gym session is leaving. It's filthy in here after a workout I have a shower but end up feeling dirtier than I did when I walked in. I say gym session but that's to make myself feel better, you'd be lucky to get a session here between the over crowdness and the broke machines it would be a miracle to actually have a session here. Not alot to ask for when you think your going to a gym is it? I'll be cancelling my membership shortly I feel like I'm robbed monthly! Shocking and shameful place

Negative experience: This gym needs to sort it out! They have over sold memberships to it’s constantly busy, which doesn’t help when half the machines are constantly broken. I counted how many machines were out of use and lost count when I got to 12! They broken for months at a time. Not only that but every week I get a text … pools closed… sauna closed… no hot water. I received a text saying they had no hot water on Wednesday…. I attended the gym on Saturday STILL no hot water!!! A girl said in the changing rooms “I had to warm myself up first in the sauna before I could face having a cold shower” Thats absolutely disgraceful… £85 a month and that’s how members are treated!! Iv complained on the Nuffield site and never hear a thing back…. Members deserve reimbursement for the lack of effort and working facilities. It’s robbery. ITS WRONG!!!

Negative experience: I began training at Nuffield Health Stockley Park Fitness & Wellbeing Gym in May/June 2023. At first, the gym appeared to be in good condition; however, I could tell that the equipment was outdated. As the weeks and months went on, I noticed that the gym equipment was frequently breaking down, which is to be expected; however, what is not typical is that it takes them more than 8 months to repair a broken machine. The reason it takes so long for them to repair a broken machine is that it takes a long time for them to order the parts and have them manufactured and delivered. The weight area is in desperate need of updating. The dumbbells are extremely old, and some are missing the weight plates. When you grip the dumbbells, you can feel the hard plastic peeling away from the metal handle, which can cause skin irritation. Some of the benches have holes in them, and you can tell that they have been repaired multiple times because they have different plastic covers. The benches are so worn out that you have to place 1.25kg weights at the bottom of the base to keep them balanced. I believe that the uneven and sagging floor is another cause of the benches being unbalanced, which is a safety hazard. There are only a few options in the weight machines area, and six of the machines are currently broken. The cardio machines upstairs have the same issue; four of them have been broken since I joined. The toilets and showers in the locker rooms are constantly dirty, although I do see cleaners attempting to clean them. Since joining, I have only used the spa area four times. The swimming pool is always cold, and you can see hair floating in the water. The Jacuzzi is always cold, and when I asked them to increase the temperature, I was told that it is faulty and they are looking into it. The sauna room is overcrowded because it is so small, but it does work most of the time. The steam room is hit or miss; sometimes it is hot, and sometimes it is cold. Overall, the gym needs a lot of work, and all of the equipment needs to be replaced. I have canceled my direct debit, and I will not be returning.

Negative experience: Gym equipment always out of order for a long period of time. Sometimes there is only one of each equipment. Being a premium gym they should do better compared to competitors. Even budget gyms have better machinery and equipment Embarrassing When it was Virgin it was better. I will soon be going to a different gym as this is pathetic.

Negative experience: Very dirty, I would not recommend to anyone especially who has children. Always short of staff. Staff constantly nagging and no body knows who's in charge of the place. Very toxic place constantly hearing stuff talking about other stuff members. Not very professional.

Negative experience: Came here to say just how filthy and dirty the place is but there are so many reviews already stating this! It's an absolute disgrace that so many cleaning / maintenance problems have already been brought to this facilities attention but yet nothing has been done. It's true that there is black mould in the men's shower area which for a health club is totally ridiculous. I only have one question really for nuffield health please let us know who is the person ultimately responsible for this mess.

Negative experience: Place is not maintained at all! The spa area is dirty, mud or brown stains on the floor for over a month! I would go in daily and the spa area very rarely cleaned. If it was, they would wipe down glass and that's it! Perhaps once every 2 weeks. There was mould growing on the floor from the overspill at the water fountain. Staff would come to fill up thier water bottles and stare down and it and do nothing! The shower in the spa are has been broken for over 6 months. NO SHOWER IN THE SPA AREA. DISGUSTING! People would sweat in the hot rooms and have no where to rinse off then go straight into the jacuzzi! Spoke to management and all they could say is yes I know its unhygienic?! You can use the showers in the changing room! No one ever does! A temporary shower should have been installed months ago! The smell of the drain in the stream room is overbearing and mould has grown all over the room. The sauna benches are worn and the wood is slimy from all the sweat and use with the lack of cleaning. On top of all this disappointment the noise levels in the spa area are ridiculous, like you have entered a bar not stream room or sauna to relax! Tends to be groups of men talking constantly, shouting on top of each other and having a laugh at the top of thier voices with no consideration for anyone around them. God forbid you ask them to keep the noise down, you will end up getting verbal abuse. Also have informed management about this, over 2 months ago and nothing has been done. Such a shame. This place was amazing when run by Virgin Active some years back.

Negative experience: Been a member since years,also when it used to be virgin active. The gym is now creaking and requires renovation as it hasnt been maintained properly. Mouldy showers, faulty bath taps, pools which are closed so many times, not enough warm water, sauna never reaches 100c, busy changing rooms. There are not many good leisure centres nearby, and that's the reason its still visited by many i guess. The staff is mixed, some hardworking n nice and some really grumpy with no customer service attitude, would blame all on center policies. Also the gym is not for families with very few times for kids in pool and other facilities. Absurd policies allow for extra paid kids swim classes in adult swim time but kids are not allowed in pool otherwise. Management is not listening there. Its only a matter of time when a good leisure centre opens up in neighbourhood and people will get more options instead of this gym.

Negative experience: Stockley Park is by far the worst gym I have been to in the group and properly worst gym I have been to. If you compare it to other cheaper gyms, I can see why most of the reviews are negative. The gym is dirty and outdated and the equipment is always broken. The whole site needs TLC and is not worth the money from my POV. If you are local, go elsewhere... trust me. You need to sort it out ASAP Nuffield. It shocking you charge so much money for poor quality of product and service.

Negative experience: Nuffield Health Stockley Park Cess Pit. The local borough gyms are better than this. The men's changing rooms s like the water hole of the Serengeti. Flooded, Hair everywhere, urinals blocked, showers that don't work, missing shower heads etc. Toilets full of waste because the flushes don't work. The sauna and spa isn't cleaned. The shower in spa has been offline for months resulting in sweaty sauna users dive into the spa without showering hence the murky colour with froth on top. The gym area isn't any better as the machines are dated, broken and cable machines unsafe. This has been going on for a year. Then you have all the kids that choke the club with their free trial passes that they use every day. The management know of the issues but simply exhausted from complaints. In part some of the users are from Southall and Hayes and are use to the bargain basement service they are getting. You would be better off going the extra distance to Sunbury which is worth every penny. This club should have been closed down years ago. Even if the issues were fixed I doubt it would stay that way because of the type of users that frequent it. David Lloyds in Southall has the same issues but increased prices to offload those type of users to Stockley Park. Nothing will change here. Use the gym, wash your hands, and go toilet/shower at home.

Negative experience: Due to years of neglect by The current Management, the gym services have deteriorated to a low level. It’s not to the standards one would expect. Hot showers are not guaranteed, the bathroom smelled of urine & even incident of faeces in the shower cubicles! Gym equipments, weights, bar are left in places where it shouldn’t. Gym staffs are not properly supervised and supported which resulted in poor service. The blame surely lies in the Top Management. Reading Reviews posted, it’s clear the problem stems from The Top Management. To further exasperate the situation, The Car Park is atrocious and not properly maintained and controlled. Resulted in all kinds of parking issues, car parked where it shouldn’t. Poor lighting or no lighting due to faulty lambs causing safety hazards. It’s unacceptable. The issues was brought to the Nuffield management to no avail. All in all, very poor standards due to poor management, reading the reviews it’s no wonder the rating is so low. In fact it should get “zero” undeserving of one ⭐️☝

Negative experience: The computers on the spin bikes have been removed after they stopped working, I’ve been given two different updates that 1. They will replace but not in the near future, 2. There are no plans to replace them. How can you do a spin work out without knowing what gears you’re using etc. I pay £99 a month and expect a better service than this. Spin bikes should be replaced asap considering the price you’re charging. This is just one of many broken/missing things.

Negative experience: Member since 2021. Broken machines that take over 6 weeks or more to fix. Worn out dumbbells. Dirty showers, blocked toilets. All for a bargain price of £75 per month. Considering the amount of people who I expect also pay similarly, no idea where the fee goes, definitely not into maintenance. Only reason to tolerate is no other gyms with a swimming pool within reasonable distance. Manager does not take any pride in the gym. Very disappointing. Also unbelievable the amount of people not able to comprehend one way system in the car park. Overall a pretty dismal gym, whose saving grace is lack of alternatives... + the responses to reviews are pretty much avoiding all responsibility, no concrete facts about how they plan to deal with any concerns raised. 02/09/2023 - Swimming Pool closed (2 days) 08/09/2023 - Men's Changing Room toilet overflowing, water from pissoir on the floor. Super hygienic. 10/09/2023 - Swimming Pool closed (1 day) 18/09/2023 - Swimming Pool closed 11/10/2023 - Membership cancelled. In 2023, you have to physically come to the gym and fill out a paper form in addition to giving 1 months notice. There is a new gym at Uxbridge from The Gym Group, which is much more affordable. But we will be investing in our own equipment and doing the workouts from home. 17/10/2023 - Since The Gym Group opened, Nuffield Stockley Park has become quite empty. The staff are extra rude now. The Senior Wellbeing Personal Trainer, despite clearly seeing people using certain equipment, takes his clients and commandeers the equipment. One of the receptionists, is extremely rude and combative, always looking for a fight with certain clients. Closure of the gym, which I think is on the cards considering how deserted it is now, will not be a loss.

Negative experience: Unfortunately this gym is really disappointing, especially given the price point. The free weights area is over crowded all the time. I’ve yet to have the chance to get in there. The equipment and general facilities are poor, outdated and not maintained to a satisfactory level for a gym charging what they do. The pool/steam/sauna always being closed. Always getting “we’re sorry but we’ve had to close the pool” texts. The changing areas/showers/pool/steam and sauna are also very bland, bog standard and again, lack any sort of wow factor, or premium element. The whole place just generally looks tired and run down and really needs investment and in many areas a complete mess. Maybe it’s just me as a northerner, but I also find the front staff can sometimes be borderline ignorant and rude. An acknowledgment or cheerful greeting or farewell to your high paying members wouldn’t go unnoticed. Besides the very basic equipment and lack of availability 90% of the time, my main and biggest concern is the cleanliness. ITS FILTHY!!! I recently took a friend on a day pass and I have to say.. I was embarrassed. My friend was shocked and I finally felt a limit had been reached and I needed to share my view. Dirty plasters on the floor, empty water bottles left everywhere, bins overflowing, hair everywhere, broken hairdryers, beard trimmings in all the sinks, dirty toilets, used cotton buds left on the sides, sweet wrappers, mud all over the floor in the changing rooms, mould and rust all over the ceiling in the showers, grime around the showers that was all slippery and sludgy from months of build up and even HUMAN BLOOD splattered behind the male changing room door which has been there the entire time I’ve been a member. General wear and tear which has become a safety hazard, with flooring coming up and sharps edges make for a health and safety case waiting to happen. Part of me thinks it’s down to the poor design and obvious design floor. To access the pool area, you’ve to walk barefoot through the hallway which has people coming in and out from the main gym area and outside, meaning ultimately, you’re treading all that outdoor dirt into the pool/steam/sauna are. A design I’m not sure has been thought through and is an obvious flaw when trying to maintain clean and hygienic pool facilities. All in all… it just looks a mess and in desperate need for refurb. I’ve share this feedback on 2 separate member questionnaires and ticked the box that I’m happy to be contacted regarding my feedback, yet no one has ever reached out. Seriously, for the price I’d reconsider. I’ve never felt so uninspired to go work out. I’m simply going to let my membership expire after the year and I won’t be renewing it. There are far cheaper health clubs which much higher standards of all the above. UPDATE: 3 weeks since I wrote the initial review and I still haven’t had a response. I don’t like publicly outing companies, but when I’m left with no choice, what other option do I have. Furthermore, the pool/spa etc has been closed and opened several times and now closed until further notice due to “unforeseen” mandatory maintenance. The issue remains with facilities constantly being unavailable.

Negative experience: This is by far the worst gym in the whole borough. It’s a place where old gym equipment goes to die. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, with this dirty cesspit of a gym. Shower’s are disgusting and dirty,the sauna is a breeding ground for germs and is never cleaned. The Jacuzzi is always broken and cold,gym equipment not repaired or replaced,certain gym equipment been out of order since before Christmas last year and when complained to the staff they just agree with you. not good enough,certainly not worth anyones time or hard earned money.

I recently revisited with a free gym pass from Vitality, I'm surprised to see absolutely no upgrades from nearly 9 years ago. The man's changing room was tired and dirty, the equipment were old and half broken. It absolutely put me off from joining the gym.

Negative experience: Update: August 2023: This place is CONSTANTLY busy. Whenever I have gone it's absolutely rammed. Forget about finding a bench. You won't after 5pm. Honestly don't know how people are able to workout here. Incredible how they overcharge for membership fees but haven't adequately equipped the gym facilities for more benches or more practical spacing of equipment. I hate waiting around for equipment so mostly have to skip my free weight exercises. Every single time I go here it's demoralising to see that it's always busy after 5pm. I guess I just need to either go elsewhere or go early otherwise I have no idea how people manage to get a proper workout in. Old review: I've held off reviewing this gym as I felt I needed to give it more chances before I give a final verdict. I haven't taken any photos out of respect for the people that use the gym and for privacy reasons. I've used many gyms in the past, but this is by far the most convenient and plus I get a huge discount with my private healthcare provider so it makes the monthly membership more palatable. The Good - It's convenient (the main reason I joined) - Free parking - Swimming Pool is great - Showers are decent - Great when it's not busy - Members of staff are friendly and helpful The Bad - Busy times Let me start by saying that I hate going to gyms when they are busy. This gym is remarkably busy during peak times. Even the car park is packed to the point you can't find a space in the evenings. I believe the peak times are 12-2pm and 5-8:30pm. If you are doing weights just avoid this place at those times otherwise your workout drags and you will be waiting around. - Opening Hours I'm used to 24 hour gyms and feel this place closes too early every day. 10pm on weekdays and shockingly 8pm on the weekends. - The Equipment They still have treadmills that look as though they were around during iPod launch. Much of the equipment needs to be replaced. Some are even rusty. - The crowd Generally I don't care about the crowd since I'm a guy, but can imagine it being intimidating for women since it gets overflowing with young men pumping iron. I've found everyone I've interacted with polite and courteous which is a positive. But not sure how women feel about it. I've also noticed that people don't put away their weights, especially dumbbells. - Membership Fee There's no way this place should be charging the amount they do. It's not worth the money especially if you are paying without a discount.

Negative experience: When this was a virgin active gym it was well maintained and well equipped and the subscription was justified. Nevertheless, now equipment is old and poor. Clearly lack in maintenance. Staff keep saying machines will be repaired, when it’s been more than 2-3 weeks. I honestly wonder what is being discussed by management in terms of improvements. I’ve been to some of the Nuffield health gyms in the midlands and they are much better and cheaper. Sorry Nuffield health Stockley just trying to make you aware of a customers experience and opinions of others.

Negative experience: UPDATED REVIEW: Not what it used to be!! Now it’s extremely dirty, some of the gym equipment are out of service all the time and the changing rooms are hideous! Negative experience: Cleaning in this gym doesn’t exist - It is only after being here few months and hoping things will Improve - They have not. I am flabbergasted at time that around 9k members and tonnes of money they charge - They are in this state. I am a contemplating cancelling my membership. Negative experience: So much needs to be replaced, there’s so many broken machines. Do management care? No. They just want to push in as many members as possible. I’d go for Pure or The Gym, at least they can keep the equipment up to date. Also, how many times is the pool / spa out of service? Serious improvements needed in many aspects.

Negative experience: Leg press and calf machine has been broken for over a month (they will give you the excuse that parts havent been delivered) - dont believe them Parking is very tight its so hard to open your door. Don’t join this gym not worth the money. Spa area is normally under maintenance half of the year. Feedback is not appreciated in this out of date gym, over the past 8 years they have spent no money to renovate any area of the gym
