Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness & Wellbeing Gym: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Excellent experience, Smiling, Welcoming and friendly staff. At first it feels like they are just been told to do so or they are just doing their job, but then you realise it's a norm here and each and every staff is really kind. Also, Ishrat in Cafeteria is amazing and no matter how busy it is, she treats you with a smile.
Negative experience: Have been a member of this gym for 7+ years and finally had to cancel my membership. Have seen a gradual decline in this gym over the years and disappointing that senior management do not listen to feedback or have made any significant improvements. Reasons below: 1. Cleanliness in the changing rooms (particularly the mens showers and toilets) are horrific. Lockers are not cleaned and regularly find hairs and dirt marks in here. The showers have mould and sewer flies. The steam room has clogged drains with hair and black marks everywhere. 2. The facilities have declined significantly (no towels/jacuzzi removed) and the mens sauna has been out of service for most of 2024. 3. Gym equipment and space is lacking (only 1 stepper in the gym / 1 row machine). Circuit classes are given priority in an already cramped gym area. 4. Gym staff are rude and not helpful. Young and inexperienced staff who do not greet members, often chatting amongst themselves in the reception area. When issues are raised, they claim they cannot do much and senior management do not listen. 5. Increasing membership prices for an already expensive gym (£100 a month avg.) while the services are in decline, is unacceptable. Overall this gym is not doing justice for the local community and should be shut down or sold to a competitor who will bring new investment. Really sad to see as this gym could have great potential with the right owners.
Negative experience: Been at the gym here for close to 10 years over which I have seen a real decline in standards from a premium facility to basically that of a poorly run leisure centre . This decline has not adjusted in price with its fall in standards . How the facility can substantiate a premium monthly rate amazes me . They withdrawn towels , removed the jacuzzi . And the male sauna has been closed for many months and not fixed because of budget reasons . In addition the gym is outdated and becoming a health and safety hazard by running circuit classes on a relatively small gym floor. After visiting my local Pure gym at a third of the price I feel there is little comparison and in truth I think it’s time to cancel my Nuffield membership . I so hope the management take notice . Just wish they could restore the standards from previous years but sadly it’s all about cutting costs .
Negative experience: Travelled today for the pool to only find out closed when arrived with no prior notice given. How many people are going to have wasted journeys today? Simply not good enough
Negative experience: I trialled this gym for 4 days and decided against signing up. My reasons included: 1) The location is inconvenient unless you drive, as it gets extremely dark on the stretch of road between the hospital and the gym, with next to no street lighting. The pavements are inadequate and keep stopping abruptly so you have to keep crossing over the road to get to a proper pavement on the other side, in the dark. Bear in mind from the other reviews that you may have trouble with fines if you do drive and choose to use their car park. 2) I don't feel there is sufficient value for money to justify the membership fee. The gym is smaller than average. The swimming pool is also pretty small, and the steam room is mixed gender so gets crowded. They apparently used to have a jacuzzi, but this is no longer offered, and there are tiny saunas inside each of the changing rooms. There aren't any other perks that are unique to this gym over any of the others in the area. The toilets and showers aren't particularly clean, and there are at least a few hours every day where all you can hear is screaming children, defeating the purpose of trying to relax in the sauna. The sauna was out of order on one of the days, and I overheard a member complaining about this to the front desk staff, who couldn't have seemed to care less. 3) There was a great deal of disingenuity in their advertising of membership discounts on National Fitness Day. The promise was for your "first 2 months free", yet the first month this covered was September, of which less than 2 weeks remained. False advertising really gets my back up personally, so that was the deciding factor. Edit: they also announced increased prices a couple of months later!! So I assume the 'discounts' were to lock people in to contracts and then gain back whatever was initially discounted by putting prices up!
Fantastic experience: Excellent club. I only go to classes so can’t comment on gym etc but classes very high quality. All really good instructors and never cancelled. Also reception staff really friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: This gym has the most ridiculous rules. 14 or 15 year olds cannot use the gym until after 830am and after 6pm. Nuffield should be encouraging teenagers to exercise rather than making it impossible through stupid ill thought out rules.
Fantastic experience: I’m a member at a different Nuffield club, but pleasantly surprised by Stoke Poges Nuffield when I visited. They have a lovely café area and the staff are friendly, particularly Chantelle, who kindly showed me around during my first visit there. One of the only downfalls of the club was the small gym floor, where it is difficult to space the equipment out, but they could probably do a reshuffle of the equipment to maximise usable space.
Positive experience: Had a taster day and quite enjoyed it, the pool and gym being all in one place as well as the cafe is ideal for after work. The gym has the sledge push which I haven’t seen in many others and liked using. I’m going to hold out until the new men’s sauna is installed so I can get a full recovery in after my sessions :) overall would recommend very pleased.
Positive experience: The swimming pool is ideal for me, I like that there are stairs that allow you to walk easily into the pool without straining. Generally there’s always space to swim freely even when swimming lessons are taking place. There are quite a variety of classes and have noticed more have been added. My only draw back is that I currently don’t drive so I find accessing the facilities when it’s dark, isn’t ideal, during the day it’s no issue with it being less than 10 minute walk from Wexham Park hospital. When I start driving I would be happy to commit, then I will be able to make the most out of it in the colder darker months.
Fantastic experience: An amazing gym with many amenities. The new manager was lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend Nuffield Health.
Fantastic experience: Very good gym loved it 10/10
Fantastic experience: Great Service , the staff are so welcoming and it feels like they genuinely care about you
Fantastic experience: I like the new gym floor set up and really appreciate the staff that work here. The newer faces have been really welcoming too, especially Chantelle who has also been really helpful!
Positive experience: Lovely fitness centre, saunas are separated by gender. Has a cute cafe. Chantelle in sales made me feel especially welcome.
Positive experience: Lots of classes and great pool The Joint Health Programme is a wonderful initiative to teach us how to use health, fitness and exercise to limit joint pain. Through recommend it
Fantastic experience: Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness & Wellbeing Gym is a top-tier facility that offers a wide range of fitness equipment, classes, and wellness services. The gym is well-maintained, with modern equipment and spacious workout areas, making it an ideal place for individuals of all fitness levels. Whether you’re into strength training, cardio, or group fitness classes, there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are incredibly supportive, fostering a motivating environment. Chantelle, in particular, stands out for her exceptional customer service and expertise. She went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed to make the most out of my gym experience. From personalized advice to offering guidance on how to optimize my workouts, her dedication and friendly approach truly made a difference. She took the time to understand my fitness goals and provided tailored support, which helped me stay on track and motivated. Overall, Nuffield Health Stoke Poges is a fantastic gym, and Chantelle’s outstanding assistance only adds to the positive experience. I would highly recommend both the facility and her support to anyone looking to improve their health and fitness journey.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with great facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. Chantelle is amazing—super friendly, helpful, and always goes the extra mile to support members, regarding signing up giving general fitness advice always there when needed. Highly recommend Nuffield for anyone looking to join a top-notch gym!
Positive experience: Good gym with good changing rooms.
Fantastic experience: The gym is clean and the classes are amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would like to see facilities like the Sauna back in action.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic range of classes for all ages etc. Really great app. Only negative is the opening time for 8 days ahead is 0700. IMO would be better at 0900 please?
Fantastic experience: Great friendly staff! The club house food is delicious and all the calories are tracked. We had breakfast while our children were settling into the Nuffy bear nursery and it was great! The smoothies are very nice too.
Superb feedback Sunita . Thank you very much for sharing your member experience. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: It's probably the most horrible Nuffield health centre. A disgrace to the franchise. Gym area is extremely small barely fits 20 people and half the equipment broken. Not enough in number either. The showers are filthy. Lockers don't work. Needs a major re-vamp !
Hi, thanks for your feedback and we are sorry for any element of your club visits that have not been to standard. We hope you have seen an improvement in your club visits since this review was published. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: Really good gym and good facilities. Good parking available and they keep you updated if there are any major changes.
Thanks for the lovely feedback and rating Jessica. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Front dest staff name Lina very rude lady not a nice person at all
Hi Patrick, thank you for your review and we are sorry if any interactions with our team have been dissatisfactory. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: m currently on the Joint Pain Programme and what a difference it has made to me. I am so much more mobile than when I started . We work out in the gym, in the pool, with weights and stretching. Great trainers who know their stuff, especially Amber who is fantastic and will adjust exercises to suit our conditions - plus she keeps us really motivated. great place and great people
Thanks for taking the time to provide this lovely feedback Maria. We are very pleased to read of the positive impact the programme, led by Amber has had on your health and wellbeing. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: 8 weeks into the 12 week joint pain programme and I can't rate the course highly enough. Run by a rehab specialist it focuses on building strength, stamina and flexibility. The pool, steam room and gym are good quality and there is an excellent choice of classes available. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend the course at Nuffield health Stoke Poges.
Superb feedback Joanne. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience of our Joint Pain Programme. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: After having been accepted on the Nuffield Health joint pain scheme, I have been so impressed by the commitment and knowledge that our personnel trainer(Amber) has shown to myself and the group. I have progressed with my mobility and self confidence, pain management and this is due to the encouragement from Amber and all the wonderful facilities. The gym is friendly, clean with lots of different classes which are suitable for everyone. I would encourage anyone to attend if possible.
Dear Gaynor, thank you very much for this lovely feedback. We are very pleased to see the positive benefits the programme (led by Amber) has had. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: One of the most awful gyms, started good a few years back I have been a member for many years and seen its downfall. It’s filthy, there’s always something not working, at least once a week the pool is closed or some kind of issue. The admin service is terrible too I’ve sent emails to cancel my membership no response. No one literally cares at this place. Do not recommend. Such a shame as had so much potential.
Hi Juslena, thank you for your review and we are sorry we have lost your custom, due to any operational issues experienced when visiting our centre. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: I'm thrilled to have a place on the Nuffield Join Pain Management Programme at Nuffield Stoke Poges. Having suffered from limiting knee pain (both knees) for many years, I'm already making progress under my rehabilitation specialist Amber's guidance - 2 sessions of stretching and strengthening each week and education on holistic aspects of joint pain. Amber is knowledgeable and helpful, and her sessions are useful and fun. The facilities at Nuffield Stoke Poges are great - lovely studio, nice pool and well-equipped gym and the staff area all friendly and helpful.
Thanks for this fantastic feedback Pat. We are very pleased to read of the excellent assistance Amber has provided over the course of the Joint Pain Programme. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: We are really benefiting from the pain management programme offered here free of charge. Feeling very positive about progress. Staff are always friendly, helpful and motivating.
Superb feedback Sarah. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of our Joint Pain Programme. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Aceasta sala e dezgustatoare , doar bazinul De innot pare curat in rest jacuzzi ul se lucreaza pe langa el cu scule si saci de ciment aruncati .. macar puteau sa inchida putin pana se renoveaza dar lasa clientii acolo si credeti ma pute foarte urat a transpiratii si clor … abea am putut sta 10 secunde sa mi prezinte managerul de acolo … am mers si pana acolo degeaba … chiar nu se merita
Hi Robert, thank you for your review and our apologies for the impact any remedial works had on your recent visit. All works have been completed and we hope we can welcome you back again in the future. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: This isn't a gym. Its an office block converted into a gym and every inch littered with old Life Fitness equipment dumpoed there fromt he 80s. The amount of sharp edges on the equipment and random hard bits that stick out. They have One Bench !! Seriously. The only saving grace is the steam room ... but that isn't even available anymore. Waste of time.
Hi, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry that you don't like the current equipment mix at our club. The gym floor is regularly checked for health and safety purposes. If members do have any concerns, we would request they speak to the duty manager immediately, who will take further action, if necessary. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Governed by incompetence behind the scenes however customer facing reception staff and some of the floor staff are friendly. Poorly equipped gym especially considering the price
Hi Ovaise, thank you for your review and we are very sorry for any elements of your club visits that have not been satisfactory. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: I have been a member at this club for many years and unfortunately, I have witnessed the downfall. It is extremely unhygienic, filthy, there is always something broken. Steam room has been out of use for almost 6 weeks now, initially all the members were informed it will only take 14 to 21 days to renovate. Broken lockers, filthy showers and the list is endless…….. Overall, this club is poorly managed by the management, when you highlight something there is no real urgency to address the issues. Extremely disappointed and I wouldn’t recommend it!
Hi Salman, thank you for your review and our apologies for any club visits that have not been to standard. We hope you have seen an improvement in cleanliness and facility availability since this review was published. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Very dated and in need of a lift. Gym is very dated with alot of equiment out of use and no sign of being repaired, both rowing machines don't work. The sauna is never hot enough and the steam room is being refurbished with no completion date in sight. Most of the classes never start on time and overun. Not worth the money.
Hi Kalvin, thank you for this feedback and we are sorry we have lost your custom, due to delays in resolving operational issues. All issues outlined in your review have now been resolved and we hope we can welcome you back to our centre soon. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: This is one of the most disgusting gyms going... I was a member a while back. There was a mouse in the changing room and when mentioned to the front desk it's minor there's a field behind and around I'm like what the flip.... second the sauna would be out of order on and off steam room was ok. Going to the pool, I contracted swimmers ear infection and have never been the same again nor have I ever been swimming since.. It has ruined my life. My ears were so messed up I even had the emergency doctor shout at me thinking why I on earth I never came in straight away. I was on double the dosage for pain and infection. I really feel like I should see if there is a case against them. Really messed with my health they have... I'm guessing others must have swimmers ears infection... One word Yuck
Negative experience: Pool / steam room closed, sauna is at 55 degrees and the gym equipment is either broken or unavailable. One of the worst managed gyms I've been in. At least they have hot water in the showers if you can look beyond the dirt.
Hi, thank you for this feedback and our apologies for the impact these issues will have had on the quality of your club visits. We hope you have seen an improvement in your club experience, since this review was published. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: The staff is simply awful they has no training whatsoever, absolutely no professionalism, whenever I go to reception I have been answered by extremely rude mature ladies who talk with people as if they were in a butcher's shop. There are youngers that would easily take your job, replacing your good for nothing work ladies!
Hi, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry if any of your interactions with our team have not been to standard. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Machines are out of use for 4 months with no estimated time of being fixed! Jacuzzi has been closed down, despite energy prices falling. No towel is provided anymore. In essence it's a huge disaster at the gym!!!!
Hi Harry, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry for the impact these in-club changes have had on your club visits. Speed of equipment repairs continues to be a key focus and we hope you have seen improvements, since this review was posted. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: every time I come there, which is several times a week, something is always broken or not working- ladies toilet, sauna, pool, group classes, equipment at the gym. You can’t plan advance! like today I wanted to swim, but noooo. All the equipment is old and most trainers are not friendly. And it’s dirty and dusty. And this “pleasure” is 88£ monthly!!! it's ugly and disappointing. if you have a choice (unfortunately, I don't) then go to another gym
Hi Anastasiia, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry for the poor members experiences you have clearly had. A lot of work has been completed since you left the club and we hope we can welcome you back again soon. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: I came back after a short break and I am very disappointed about it. The gym is unhygienic, broken equipment, even Internet/TV not working. The staff provides conflicting information about what you can do what you can't do. They removed jacuzzi/hot tub by the pool. Membership fees are not at all proportional to the services you receive.
Hi Kami, thanks for this review and our apologies for any club visits that have not been to satisfaction. We hope you have seen an improvement in gym floor equipment availability, since this review was published. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Dirty gym and changing rooms are gross. Despite complaining about this a number of times to management nothing was done to improve hygiene standards. Further to this the equipment is old and they do not invest in updating the gym to accommodate for different training styles.
Hi Raj, thank you for your review and apologies for any instances when your club visits have not been to standard. We hope you have noticed an improvement in club cleanliness standards, since this review was published. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Do not use swimming lessons. No customer service and instructor decides to cancel the swimming lessons and not inform you. We turn up twice to find out this at the reception. Poor customer service and no cummunication. Swimming instructor is incompetent and unprofessional.
Hi Vishal, thank you for your review and our sincere apologies for any instances where we failed to notify you of lesson cancellations. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: One star is still too much! The gym is unhygienic, broken equipment, blocked showers and toilets, dirty pool and sauna area. Managers are unqualified former PTs that have just been given the job role because they are all friends, not because they are skilled. Nil understanding of customer service and management in general. The female staff are only interested in chatting to the male members - nothing else matters to them. Euro car park are now running the car park. I have proof I put my number plate into the tablet on the day in question. I also took a picture on my phone as proof, and yet I have received a £100 pound ticket!! Nuffield management do not care. Management have said if I give them a £10.00 admin fee they can then send that to euro car park which can then wave the ticket. Why should I pay £10.00 admin to have a ticket waved when I was never in the wrong…? Mathew the manager got us into this mess he needs to sort the car park out before more members leave. I know a handful of members who have left because they got numerous tickets. Even with proof that they did in fact input their registration plate- they still lost their appeal. It’s a scam. You only have to read the reviews for euro car park online and you will not be shocked by how unethical they are, and yet Nuffield chose to do this to its members! If you want to throw your money down the toilet then join this gym. They have even closed the small jacuzzi/hot tub they have by the pool (which is absolutely tiny) claiming that it costs them too much money. Since covid they’ve stopped handing out towels as they’ve realised it’s another way to save money! Member fees are not at all proportionate to the service you receive.
Negative experience: If you don't register to park you will get a £60 fine and they can't prove to you, you didn't register - I am sure I did!! - Lovely staff very friendly - Gym is dated - Toilets are disgusting and constantly blocked - Changing rooms are dirty - to save energy SPA pool closed - steam room door won't shut properly - work that out?
Hi, ANPR measures are now in enforce in the car park, to ensure spaces are used by members only. We are very sorry to read about the poor club standards experienced. Further staff are being onboarded to improve cleaning standards. To confirm, spa pools have been closed across our estate. As a trading charity, any savings made will be reinvested in the club and our community programmes. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: They took money from my account after I left the gym, it’s been 4 months and they still haven’t returned my money. Shame on your leadership, management, accountability and the very little standard you have!
Hi, apologies for any error in the administration of your membership. All memberships are managed using the following terms and conditions: https://www.nuffieldhealth.com/terms/fitness-and-wellbeing-terms-and-conditions If we have failed to honour these, you can raise a concern via: https://bit.ly/3EFSLoj With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: Went to see the physiotherapist, Michelle is amazing person, understands the issues and focuses on how to make one feel better again.
We're pleased to read of the progress you have made under Michelle's treatment Raza. Thank you for sharing your patient experience. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Very old centre. No liquid or food available.Miles off a BUPA experience.
Hi Frank, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry to read you were dissatisfied with your recent Medical centre visit. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Very overpriced for the level of facilities available, needs massive renovation.
Hi Waleed, thank you for this feedback and apologies for any aspect of your club visits that were not to standard. We now have a new management team in place, and we'll be looking to drive improvements in the club over the coming months. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: SEVERE Decline in standards: equipment often out of order for long periods of time Interior of gym is drab and dirty Spa is closing and towels not provided and no resultant drop in subscriptions Staff very welcoming. In 2023 you would think that the gym could provide a set of weighing scales that work in order to monitor covid kilos.... No ,the bought this to the attention of general manager who replaced the batteries and they still don't work. It isn't rocket science they need replacing. The bike that you told me was fixed clearly wasn't and as promised it is still not fixed as of today. All maintenance of equipment is either tomorrow or next week.A s customers we want action now not empty promises please
Hi John, thanks for this feedback and apologies for the impact these issues would have had on your club visits. The parts issues are now resolved with our servicer and we hope your having an improved gym floor experience. The complimentary towel provision and spa pool have now been permanently withdrawn, we would like to assure you that any savings from service provision changes or price increases have been reinvested into the club, to support our increased operational costs. Thank you for your feedback and continued club patronage. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Quick to take payments despite cancelling 6 months ago. I had been a member at this gym for years. However for reasons of my own, I had decided to cancel my rolling membership in October 2021. I followed the process at the time and emailed their cancellation department. Since then, I have contacted the managers on-site on multiple occasions and I have been promised for my membership to be cancelled by each and everyone I speak to. 6 months later and still nothing has been done about it. Avoid at all costs. They’ll keep charging after you cancel (and you won’t be getting anything back)
Negative experience: Rude staff who spoke over me and spoke in a rude tone which such a bad attitude. I am shocked and disgusted by Gaby’s behaviour. I called to enquire about membership and you would think the colleague would be willing to help and answer questions in a professional manner, instead she belittled me and dismissed my questions whilst also talking over me. Disgusted by this and will be sharing with friends and family about this awful experience
Hi Harpreet, thank you for this feedback and apologies for any offence caused with regards to interactions with our staff members. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Bring back the jacuzzi. Close it during summer.
Hi, thanks for this feedback and apologies for any impact the spa pool closure will have had on your club visits. We regret to advise that this facility is now permanently closed. Work will be completed in the coming to repurpose this area. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Positive experience: Disappointed again with Nuffield, the jacuzzi is not being operated until at least April next year due to rising energy prices. There was no hot water on Tuesday, checked today before going, there is only one boiler up and running now, and no guarantee you will get hot water, depending on how many people are using it. My main reason for membership is the wet area so pretty dissatisfied at the moment. The swimming costume spinner is also out of order.
Hi Carol, thank you for this feedback and apologies for the impact these service issues have caused. The spa pool is now permanently closed, and we'll be looking to repurpose this area, in the coming months. We are very sorry for the impact this will have had on your club visits. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Very poor run down gym. Staff are not well trained and place is not hygienic. Avoid if you can - there are much better gyms in the area.
Hi Ashley, thank you for this feedback and apologies for any element of your club visits that were not to standard. With regards, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Very run down and old gym, walked in to a member fighting with an employee at the gym. Weights area is quite small and equipment is dated for the price. Have a few new treadmills. Spa area is more like a local leisure centre as there are many kids running around.
Negative experience: I'm afraid everything about this gym has deteriorated. It's dirty, things don't work even the turnstile when you walk in and it generally looks sad and tired. In desperate need of some investment!
Hi, thanks for your review and we hope you have seen an improvement in your club experience since this feedback was uploaded. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Terrible and over priced. Make sure you watch your personal belongings very carefully as the place is swarming with thieves. Staff are beyond useless as wanted to use steam room and paid for it only to find it was out of order. When the staff was confronted with this information they were dismissive and offered no reassurance or compensation for the blunder. Showers are filthy and riddled with black mould. Gym space is limited and always packed. It's anyone's guess how they warrant £81 per month. Avoid if you can.
Fantastic experience: Child goes for swimming lessons with Adani who is a fantastic teacher.
Negative experience: Fed up trying to get hold of the swimming instructor to try and get both kids to join. Live so close to the gym there's actually no point! Will go elsewhere
Fantastic experience: Great facilities with no contract and 50% off for NHS staff was a no brainier. Gym is kept well aerated with clean equipment. Pool facilities on site inside.
Negative experience: Reducing your opening hours, facilities, terms and conditions then expecting customers to be happy about it is not a good business model.. there are much better gyms out there at more competitive prices
Positive experience: Really good gym. Having tried so many gyms not all are perfect, all have something they can work on to improve. Great if you are vitality member as the reduced rate helps. Food place could offer more vegan food so hopefully that will come in time. The Avocado with halloumi on toast was the best. Good place to hide away if you want time away from the office and even if you dint want to use the gym.
Negative experience: i went today and the worse customer service ive ever experienced
Fantastic experience: Not open until 8.00am on Bank Holiday Mondays
Negative experience: Really bad experience, paying £144 for membership and most of the times steam room is closed. I cancelled my membership and i was told to pay one month fees for cancellation which I paid been to gym in the morning and the Manager Dorota who is very rude told me i can’t enter i need to pay more.only good on 1st of every month to take money out.
Fantastic experience: This place will welcome you from the first time you step in, the manager is absolutely amazing, the staff always kind and with a smile, and the personal training I recommend Jan Walusiak, absolutely the best, he listens to what is your goal, what parts of your body you want to focus on and he will give you the best workout routine. A most ASAP....
Fantastic experience: Very nice staff, changing rooms are clean and nice, PTs are great, good variety of classes. Not overcrowded and noisy like huge gyms. People are always working out with no one sitting on equipment just chatting - which is awesome. Really good experience!
Negative experience: It's got pretty decent kit. But I'm at a tier 2 Nuffield with more space and better kit. Not sure how this place justifies tier 1. Also it needs a proper clean. Everything is just covered in dust and hairs. Pretty grim
Fantastic experience: having joined ealing because it is next door to the office i was pretty let down by it, thankfully stoke poges is local to home and the gym is awesome and the whole place the total offosite of the gym in ealing. the staff are great and i thin this is gonna be my weekend gym. i was gonna cancel my membership at ealing because it was so bad but this has made up for it.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place xx
Positive experience: Considering the membership is a somewhat premium - the gym changing rooms are disgusting ... the lockers are filthy and the floor is dirty all the time. I have made complaints but nothing has improved. The toilets are foul and they keep swapping ladies and gents changing rooms over. Staff at the front desk bar a couple of the maturer ladies are slow and don’t know what is going on. Please don’t ask them questions just before a class is starting as you will definitely witness a breakdown! Non gym staff bar the two maturer ladies in reception are rude and huddle together for chit chats which is off putting when you first enter the gym. I would love management to call me and discuss but that probably won’t happen again !! Anyway do I go you must be thinking because my PT’s are amazing !!!!
Fantastic experience: Nice friendly staff, compared to other gyms in Slough much cleaner.. gym equipment could do with a few more machines but how ever it’s a good gym overall !!! Vishal Bangar
Fantastic experience: Happy days a gym with smiles
Negative experience: Just became a member and not great first experience. Staff on entrance were finding registration challenging and when seeking help from another staff member she was not offered any. The changing room were not very clean with towels thrown around and there was mess on the floor. This was in midday, i am not looking forward to a potential session in the evening when you would expect significant uptake in usage. ADVICE please keep gym clean and train your staff
Positive experience: I have mobility issues but still want to exercise but I'm limited to using the facilities such as using the gym I can't get upstairs. Even a single stanna type lift could be installed, as it inexpensive for the price we pay. I'm restricted to only using the pool, jacuzzi, steam room. I can't even do the classes. If I could get upstairs I could use some gym equipment as I'm not a wheelchair user. Just can't go up stairs. I find the membership should be adapted to the personal fitness capabilities. I still need to excercise although limited. Changing rooms need a cleaner at all times. Also I noticed a lot of members do not shower before getting in the pool or when changing from say using the steam room they getting straight into the pool. More signage in different languages and large and bold needed in direct visible areas. Staff are friendly on the front desk now compared to previous membership I've had which did put me off.
Negative experience: Nice gym but the food was terrible and old, all microwaved, isn’t meant to be health place
Good Afternoon Hana. We appreciate all feedback both positive and negative. Your comments will be taken on board for review. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Negative experience: Have attempted to book my toddler in for swimming lesson for three weeks now. Husband and I have both called several times leaving contact details for a return call and have never received one. Very poor customer service. Unsatisfied.
Good Afternoon Lana. Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear this. I have passed this feedback onto the GM who I hope you will hear from shortly. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Positive experience: Very lovely staff, clean equipment and changing rooms. However, not sure it's worth the £70 I pay a month even with an NHS discount. Annoyingly the pool is 20m instead of 25m. Free towel is nice in theory, but rarely do people actually put them down on the benches in the gym.
Good Afternoon Nick. Thank you for your 4* rating. We appreciate all feedback both positive and negative and take stock of your comments. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Positive experience: Very family friendly gym. But some staff need to seriously take a look at their fitness levels and more importantly customer service. Simon (Ronce(a). Needs to get on that Treadmill (or swimming), otherwise he will never meet his best friend Dick (or see him without a mirror)and might be left all alone with fluffy Ted. Read your operations inbox Simon. Get rid of Simon, make Beckie Operations Manager and most of your problems will be solved.
Good afternoon Ikbal, thank you for your recent review and rating. We hope to see you back in our gym again soon. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Negative experience: Now much too difficult to book classes due to recent increase in membership

Positive experience: Too expensive and not all the time open till 23 like weekends...I prefer Pure Gym
Good morning Valentin, thank-you for your recent review. We read and appreciate all feedback. We hope to see you back in our gym again soon. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Stoke Poges Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Fantastic experience: This is simply the most friendly gym I have ever joined. Both gym, pool and men's changing room is spotless. I don't recall the name of the lady on reception most evening but whatever you're paying her isn't enough she's lovely, always welcoming and can't do enough for you even let me change out her own purse on occasions for the locker!!!!
Fantastic experience: Great facilities (both for cardio and weight training), customer service is great too, and you can always get a trainer to check your form or ask them for advice.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and clean gym!!!! Worth all the money I am paying monthly x
