Zero manors at all and so quick to argue with you but once you argue back it will be classed as a racially aggravated argument as this has happened from a bar member and the manager himself . There are usually have some well groomed fellows in their 30s probably because where it located.Staff are in general helpful here and I found the place very clean but can get wet on the floor on busy days tho. The crowd does skew towards fit guys but there's something here for everyone. Evenings and weekends are the best times to visit.

Negative experience: Avoid SteaBox Soha, Rude Staff, Unhygienic, and Bizarre Procedures I feel compelled to share my experience at SteamBox soho manley to warn others about this place. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the staff, who seem to be very young, have no idea how to interact with customers or run a professional business. Instead of a simple "hello" or "welcome," the first thing they said to me was, "23 pounds," without even a "please" or a smile. I should have taken that as a hint and left right then. The process here is unnecessarily complicated and feels unwelcoming. They hand you a metal box for your valuables, a key to a locker, and a very thin, unclean towel. After changing and putting your clothes in the locker, you have to go back to the bar to exchange the locker key for a bracelet. Only then are you allowed to go downstairs to the actual sauna and steam room. It’s a strange and inconvenient system that makes no sense. To make matters worse, the facilities themselves are subpar. The towel provided was thin and didn’t feel clean, which is a major hygiene red flag. The whole experience felt disorganized, unwelcoming, and overpriced for what you get. Also, you’re not allowed to get your locker key back-even if you forgot something- unless you’re leaving. I would strongly advise against visiting Steam Box Manley. The rude staff, odd procedures, and lack of cleanliness make it a place not worth your time or money. There are far better options out there where you’ll actually feel welcomed and valued as a customer. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this place at all costs.

Negative experience: I used the app to buy 48h pass and I went inside. The next day (less than 24 hours) the pass disappeared from the app. It's not even in the history. Just keep it in mind. Regarding the facility itself... I don't know what to say... First of all, there is no real sauna. The Steam room did not tempt me to stay more than 5min inside. The "bar" without even beer or wine. Unfortunately, I didn't feel comfortable. Lots of stairs and unpleasant smells. Funny towels that are useless. The air temperature in some rooms was inadequate. My eyes immediately became inflamed after using the jacuzzi. Is that all London can offer?

Negative experience: I have always thought this place was great, until today when I was shocked by the staff’s extremely rude and impolite behavior. Here’s what happened: As I was leaving with a group of people, I placed my key on the table. Without saying anything, the staff member directly pushed my key back toward me. If I hadn’t caught it, it would have fallen to the ground. I understand that the staff might be busy and working hard, but this action was really unprofessional. Perhaps a simple “please wait a moment” would have been more appropriate.

Negative experience: And now... Install an app. They really like making the access difficult. I moved my review from 1* to 2*, as I saw some improvements. Easy and cheap changes they could still do: - Replace the plastic padlocks with metal ones. If visiting with something valuable bigger than their tiny metal box they provide at check-in, you have to leave it in those totally unsafe cages. - Maintenance: fix not working showers, toilets and dispensers. - Cleaning more often. - Introducing some sauna specialized hypoallergenic aromas. - Flip-flops included. - Things break: be transparent with what works or not at the door and website. And maybe introduce a discount if something is not.

Negative experience: The staff here are beyond rude. This place should be shut down purely on this basis. People come here to feel comfortable and the staff seemingly go out of their way to promote the opposite. The staff are arrogant, rude and ruin this entire place. I’d rather throw £20 down the toilet than give them my money

Positive experience: I like the environment and all scene, but I think you'll need to check jacuzzi chlorine !!! It's just a toxic bath ! Impossible to stay in and you'll definitely received skin burn after use . My suggestion to everyone, avoid that periodic table jacuzzi !!

Negative experience: Sweatbox is a place I would not choose to go to. Their staff is extremely rude and especially the South Asian guy are rude from the outside. There is a lot of bullying there. No attention is paid to cleanliness. Dirty and sticky box room too much I m suggest to not visit there

Negative experience: Wow, where do I begin. First things first, why do you have to take off all your valuables, belongings such as phones, wallets, ID, watches and put them into a metal box that the staff keep behind the till? The staff were indirectly rude to other customers. I didn't experience the rudeness myself, but they aren't the most friendly or welcoming people in the world. The facilities are massive, but I'm not keen on the layout were you have to give them your key for your locker in exchange for a bracelet that allows you to go downstairs to the actual sauna as the sauna is in the basement and the bar and jacuzzi is on the ground floor. It's such a weird layout. Also, the atmosphere here isn't that great here, I didn't feel welcomed at all, lots of stuck up and rude guys. It's not just the staff but customers as well. As an introvert and exploring a gay sauna for the first time by myself, my experience here wasn't the best. Overall, the facilities are decent, they do clean up well after everyone however just not a good place to meet people.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, Monday,I visited the sauna again, and it was a really nice experience. It was much more crowded this time, mostly with younger teenagers. They have new tawels, which was a great addition. If you're planning to visit, remember to bring your own flip-flops. For first-timers, it might be a bit confusing at first. Once you pay, they provide you with a safe box at the reception to store your valuable belongings securely. Regular lockers are available for other items, but if you're worried about theft, it's better to use the metal box at reception. After securing your valuables, you’ll receive a key for the locker. Head to the changing area—either on the right or left upstairs—where you can lock up your items. Once you’ve changed, return to the reception(on the other side downstairs) to exchange your key for a wristband. This wristband is used to open the entry gate to the sauna. When you're done, you can exchange the wristband at the reception to get your locker key back. Since the wristband can get wet in the steam zone, it’s common sense to keep it safe. And you get your fresh towel to dry yourself. One downside of the sauna is the chlorine smell, which becomes stronger the longer you stay. After a couple of hours, it can become uncomfortable, especially for your eyes. I noticed the staff cleaning and disinfecting the area frequently, which is nice, but the fresh scent doesn’t last very long. Overall, if you decide to visit, you’re sure to have a great time. This place is worth trying, and in my opinion, it’s one of the best sauna experiences you can get in London. But if you're looking for the better and clean it more experience, then please visit different saunas in Europe they're much more better...

Negative experience: It stinks so badly in there I wanted to “barf”, nowhere comfortable to sit just hard tools, there isn’t anywhere to sit only the jacuzzi was comfortable . As for that one piece of stand tea towel thing they throw at you to wear is the most ridiculous I’ve seen in a sauna not practical .. I’m paying money you’re quite happy to rinse and not give your clients a nice experience. It was soaked ridiculously wet so just I just walked around naked. The decor is so depressing you feel like you’re in hell not a sauna, the toilets hideous, changing rooms are tight squeeze , people bumping into whilst changing and making sure no one robs you on the way out. Change that lighting in there. The Australian guy on reception was sweet and the guy who checked on me in stream room as I was in there for hours…. Not what you’re thinking I just wanted warmth. I’m going to gay sauna’s a long time “Chariots Sauna in Shoreditch is gonna be a hard act to follow. Fantastic experience: A misunderstood gem of Londonian gay nightlife To address the main points many of the negative reviews: 1. The pre overhaul notes : many old reviews emphasize the place as gloomy or old. Today it's not luxurious but it's modern, practical and well lit. 2. Cleanliness in the cabins : it's a gay sauna that runs 24/7. That's mind blowing. I'd go as far as to say that's it's remarkably clean given that fact. As some reviews point out it's cleaner than the saunas in Paris and not as clean as German ones. Needless to say that usually German guests clean after themselves with paper towels in the cabins. Maybe using another material for the mattress instead of the spongy looking one might give a better impression. But the teams do clean the cabins regularly through the day (I saw them). 3. RULES AND COMPLIANCE: this seems to be the most difficult point for some. The system might be hard to follow, but after clubbing in London I must say it was refreshing to not be surrounded by people who are constantly high as a kite. The space feels safer, more stable than most other Londonian night/sex life options. 4. Kindness of the personnel : again a sauna that's open 24/7. Night shift staff seems a bit grumpier than day and evening shifts, which is understandable. People are also different. But if you follow the rules and state your needs clearly, they're mostly helpful. Pro tips: Ask how the smoking area works if you're a smoker. Avoid if you're a heavy drug user that constantly needs hits. Check the time you come to respect the 8hrs in 2 hrs out rule. Things that aren't often mentioned : gym is simple but works great. You're only required to wear sports shoes. Snacks and drinks are reasonably priced. Design of common spaces is very functional. The pace isn't huge but thanks to the conception it feels bigger than it is. The crowd is overall diverse. Most movement on Monday, Sunday and Saturday, respectively.

Negative experience: This place was the worst sauna I've ever been to, they charge for everything and you don't have access to your locker.

Negative experience: Friendly staff is far to find here. Their locker system is a bit more complicated in comparison with the saunas in the rest of the world but thats not the problem. The problem is the staff impatiently trying to explain how it works and afterwards gave up on explaining and just told me to go through.

Negative experience: Locker checkin and rules are insane and complicated. Never have I seen a bathhouse with such a convoluted system. Get a bin put something personal in it to earn a key to a locker that you then trade back for a wristband to enter the secure area and you can never access your locker again. Good grief. The sauna is big and nice, but one is broken and their event was cancelled with no notice. Good price. Lots of guys. Their towels are awful, it’s more of a wrap. Not very effective at drying.

Negative experience: Unfortunately this is one of the worse saunas i have visited in Europe so far, especially due to the total lack of courtesy and respect to the customers. I felt almost threatened by most of the staff, ignored and mistreated. They had a 25 and under free admission on Mondays (28/10/2024) without mentioning on the webside or at their social media that you'll need to pay for each towel 3£ if you use the free admission they offer. Every other customer that paid had a free towel and a second one as well. I came on Saturday evening and they gave me both towels for free. They said they write everything on their webside but they don't, they have hidden prices that apply only to people that are entitled to the free admission on Mondays. I also read the terms and conditions on their website and nowhere says that you should pay for a towel on special events like the Monday event for young people under 25. The personel told me exactly that: "How much did you pay to enter ?" "Zero. We need to make some money out of you somehow so you'll pay for the second towel as well." You should know that when you say "Terms and Conditions may Apply" that means that you have to provide those terms and conditions to the customers to read, otherwise you are breaking the law regarding the consumers rights and you can be easily reported. I also have to mention that your personal belongings are not safe there. You have to keep your belongings you need during your stay at a small red box and they give it to you if you ask. When i asked they gave me access by mistake, to another person's personal belongings like his credid cards, ID, wallet and wireless headphones. When i noticed that the items are not mine i let them know imediately and they responded by saying that the tag they gave me is blurry so they couldn't understand the number and when i told them that this is not safe they aswered: "We don't make this system". I don't know if you get paid poorly, had a bad day or whatever but you have to stop treating people so badly. You create a hostile environment for your guests. I tried to communicate what happened to the manager with another guy that experience the same bad behaviour and impoliteness from the staff.

Fantastic experience: Used to be ok, now new manager is very unethical. Kicked me out on a 24 hr ticket for wanting to go out for a cigarette, I would not mind but afterwards the reception told me there is a smoke room inside, they sell a 24hr ticket which does not give you 24-hour access. I wanted to speak to the owner but they refuse to give me his details, EDIT We went back a month later to see if anything had changed, first I noticed they were giving out two towels instead of one now. After being there for 1 hour I asked to go for a cigarette and was very politely shown by Reese where the smoke room was. Had a very pleasant experience probably my best experience over the 5 years I have been going regular.

Positive experience: I love the new app, cueing is so much faster, it should be for all entry not just 48h pass! Terms & conditions should be in several languages scanning the QR code as feel some guests don't understand so don't follow them. There could be better access the toilet if you're a gym user then waiting patiently in front of long cues of guys swapping there keys over Finally I feel Sweatbox should scrap the free under 25's and make it half price so they respect the venue like everyone else and clean after themselves! Annual membership could go down in price welcoming more respectable clients!

Negative experience: Front desk staff were nice and the facilities are OK, but there are too many rules. It feels like a prison, and it seems like the owners are extremely risk adverse. I found it really bizarre that they reserved the right to breathalyze people at the front desk before allowing people to enter. Would probably pass if you have other options available to you.

Negative experience: It was super dirty. I’m pretty sure the shower floor had slime. For a place this filthy I’m shocked they didn’t allow me to be in the gym without shoes.

Negative experience: Sweetbox Soho is, without a doubt, one of the worst places I've ever visited. The staff is incredibly rude and seems irritated by any question or request. The rules are so strict that it's impossible to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. On top of that, the cleanliness is appalling — the place is dirty and poorly maintained, which only adds to the unpleasant experience. It's truly a horrible place that I wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable time. Best to avoid it!

Negative experience: Very hypocrite sauna, the moment they have too much people they start asking if you have drank any alcohol to throw people out haha not coming back again

Positive experience: Went twice on a Monday at 7pm and again at 5pm on Tuesday to take advantage of 24 hr pass. Monday was busy even in entrance. A fair number of people inside. Felt a bit cliquey or maybe it was me. Wet room was fine. Downstairs wasnt totally disgusting, it was mostly clean but cool. Tuesday was compulsory naked night whoch was also fine. The check in system isnt so complex but its a bit annoying. And a bit pricey for what it is at 30£. Not the worse place; reviews made it seem like hell on Earth and it wasnt for me. May return another time but have had more fun in other venues so maybe not.

Negative experience: The sauna should be renamed the crystal maze. First, you have to queue to get in and the door inside is so near to the counter there’s people waiting outside. Then you need to put all of your belongings into an open box, Take a key, Leave all your belongings in a cage locker, Then take another key to reception. It took me 20 minutes just to get inside the sauna. Way too long. The sauna is on two levels. The wet floor and the dry floor. Most people are in the dark room on the basement level. Understand that it’s very wet and it’s really smelly. In some places, the smell is quite bad, especially in the basement floor. I stayed for about 90 minutes and then it took took me another 20 minutes to exit the building because people queueing on the stairs trying to leave. Would I go back again? I am afraid not. It’s just too complicated and not as busy as you think it is.

Negative experience: This is really by far the worst gay sauna I've seen (and smelled) in my whole life. I ran away after only 10 minutes inside. The start seemed promising. A lot of hot sexy men wanted to go in. There was a waiting line. Took me 15 minutes to get in. I start walking around to see what's there. The smell is terrible. An old odeur as if it wasn't cleaned for ages. Then I saw the cabins. With whatever was on the bed. A "mattress" that was soaked in, I don't know what. As soon as you touch it and put some pressure ( I did 1 finger only) all kind of "juices" appear on the surface. Water? Sweat? Cum? I ran back to my clothes and ran away. 10 minutes inside was enough. If this is the best in town, then I'm lucky with the Amsterdam NZ sauna or all the other sauna's I've been to. 1 star is still too much for this terrible place Wanna catch a disease? Go to this place.

Negative experience: Just don’t understand why the locker system is so complicated, the lack of toilet seats and towel made from weird plastic fibres that leave you wet when you leave. I’m sure it’s to stop people doing drugs however it makes for a less than pleasant experience. At least there are some cute boys.

Negative experience: This was the worst gay sauna I've ever been in! It's a complete scam because the appearance on the internet has nothing to do with the reality. It's poorly organized and badly managed. The personal is awful. The structure and the system of the place are confusing and not well thought of. 95% of the visitors are walking around barefoot everywhere, which is disgusting. The hygiene is mediocre. The hole atmosphere is very strange and not relaxing at all. The dark rooms are way too cold for a bathhouse. So is the water in the showers. It's constantly changing... If the shower works at all, which is often not the case. Last but not least, the place has no real sauna room! There is labyrinth like steam bath with little place for relaxing. And the small wooden room that should be the sauna is being wormed up not by a stone stove but by couple of heater-lamps on the walls that one has to turn on manually every minute because they go out. And don't even let me start on the small jacuzzi - it looked so dirty that one could probably get more STDs from it then from sleeping with all gays in London. The place is a joke!

Fantastic experience: Very pleasantly surprised after reeding all the negative comments. Staff was friendly and helpful. They are working hard to keep the space clean as much as they can and honestly you know what this place is ( you are not visiting the dentist) Busy but not overcrowded, and there is something for everyones taste. Also there is a smoking area too , a huge plus! I would recommend

Negative experience: Avoid. Management are too uppity to be at your service. They even let LGBT orientated magazines/Instagram pages do advertising to entice people to visit this sauna, who block you if you put a comment on their post dissuading anyone to visit this place. They seem to be *so* offended by clients expressing dissatisfaction of this place. Also, the place smells terrible and is very unhygienic. It's a breeding ground - mins the pun - for bacteria and parasites. I see they advise you if you weren't happy with your experience to get in touch with them, but guess what? There's no response from them if you do. It seems to be an automated message/reply they put just to feign that they have the interest in dealing with the issue.

Negative experience: Honestly, this place kinda sucked. With no exaggeration, the sauna, steam room, and the hot tub were Luke warm at best. I’ve been to bathhouses all over North America and Europe and I’m sad to say this is definitely my least favourite place.

Positive experience: I have visited this place a few times now and had great action, the crowd is mixed and even Mondays are fun. The staff are friendly but they have too many rules as in the amount of time you can spend in the venue and the no-return to your locker policy. If you are new to this venue you will need to know you will have to wear nothing “but” the skimpy towel provided by them that barely works as a towel. If you are wearing jockstrap under the towel they will ask you to take it off as no underwear is permitted (Bizarre). The cabins are not equipped with any sanitising products like tissue or spays. They have cameras everywhere which is good for security, but I did find myself very uncomfortable with cameras in certain rooms where you can be filmed while having fun. Overall OK

Negative experience: Overpriced. Not a very welcoming place. Complicated entry system. Smelly towels. Not a particularly nice set of guys in there. Lots of rent boy types.

Negative experience: I have been in different saunas in Europe, South America and Asia. I can guarantee that I have never been to a sauna that smell so terrible! Went with a friend on a Friday night and it was quite empty. But I wasn’t surprised. The way this sauna stinks probably everyone did exactly what I did ( left after 15 mins). I am genuinely surprised that the no one has yet reported this place. Very disappointed.

Negative experience: A sauna that doesn't actually have a sauna, bizarre. Major downside. Hygiene was okay, parts smell a bit like wet cave, but aceptable. Weird as hell layout with the steamroom being like a roundabout, with guys just hastily walking in circles, not chill at all. Since area doors are not cushioned every few seconds there's a loud bang. Only hot place is an infrared walk-in closet with three seats, which is giving more rotisserie chicken than anything else. Not a terrible place, but no comparison to saunas in Berlin, Valencia, or Paris.

Positive experience: It's usually a fun time with some hot guys. Have to say though, I think they use an excessive amount of harsh chemicals which, in a poorly ventilated space to begin with, feels really unhealthy. Every time I've been I have developed a skin rash on my face and arms and you can really smell the bleach/harsh cleaning products as you walk around, can't be good to inhale such high concentrations of that.

Fantastic experience: I was visiting London and bought a one-week pass for SweatBox. I had a great time. I spent most of my time at the gym but it's always fun knowing you can enjoy all the facilities after your workout. The staff were very friendly. There's nowhere else like it. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in London. Great value for money, even if you just want a place to work out.

Positive experience: First time here for years Queue to actually get in (10 mins) not helped by just one staff member letting people in an checking people out. Staff member on entry (cap and glasses) was polite and helpful. South Asian guy upon leaving no please or thankyou from him, all very cold. The layout has changed, not entirely to my liking. But the locker situation is confusing and bizzare, clothes go into a steel cage, valuables into a metal locked tray. Should you wish to access metal locked tray it's straightforward, but staff peering in. Should you need to access locker, NO! Unless you're leaving! I understand this is to combat drugs, but nevertheless it's a pain. The steam room is a labyrinth and very warm which I did like, lots of fun going on. The jacuzzi was luke warm. Stairwell had a pungent smell. The downstairs cruise area is reminiscent of a U.S prison, not too keen on it really. It was busy, and I had 'fun' with several hot guys so I suppose this I'd the name of the game. Staff were seen regularly cleaning. Would I go back? Yes. But I wouldn't jump at it.

Positive experience: I've recently started using their gym. It's small but decent. Gave me motivation to go more frequently. Staff are visibly cleaning the areas regularly. Staff are efficient and polite. The guys are pretty varied and random. You get the whole cross section of London with lots of visitors and some locals. Overall, it's a pleasant experience any time of the day or night. The steam area has recently felt very hot for my taste though. I've stopped going there and just lingered elsewhere.

Negative experience: First time in London, tried to enjoy our time and try this Sauna. When we first arrived the guy called manager asked us where are we from we said we are from France and he said "you seem Arab not french" this was quite remarkable for me but we kindly replied yes we are originally arabs but french, and his face was like really bizarre i did not understand what was this like-reaction. Whatever, we walked in and we got served first time "unwelcomely". My friend started asking questions like why are they that rude. Second time we asked to be served a drink he was turning his eyes all around like if we are begging for money or idk. Bref, the situation started getting uncomfortable and we asked if we can speak to a manager and he said "I AM THE MANGER HERE !" With an arrogant voice.. Here we were like, WOW !! This is really not a place to be. So we changed our clothes and got out of this place. I hope nobody lives this experience !!

Negative experience: All things are completely unerallistic,they make you blow in a thing to see how much alcohol you are drinking. I never never never experienced in my my life. If you go in a Gay sauna is to enjoy yourself not to be juge about what you drink. Because I was over the limit, they didn't let me in. The staff and manager are so so so rude. Avoid this place.

Negative experience: It's not worth it. It's too complicated and pointless. There are no lockers, you have to put your cell phone and wallet in a small box and hand them in. The staff sometimes gives the boxes to the wrong people. This is absolutely horror, if I had wanted to I could have taken 2 new cell phones home with me! The sauna is dirty, smelly and the floors of the cabins are thin and unhygienic.

Positive experience: Place is what you make of it. I’ve been 3x while visiting London over the past 18 months. Staff was always nice to me. You can tell some work long hours and probably deal with a lot of difficult clients. Just be nice, follow the rules, and try to have a good time. Guys here in general are seemingly always seeking the next best thing. I’ve had some good times here but other times men have just been very detached and walking around in circles. This isn’t the fault of the venue or of me. It’s just the way it was. You never know what kind of experience you’re going to have at a sex club. So expect the worst and hope for the best. I agree that the temperature of rooms are all over the place - but who’s REALLY here for the sauna? I mean - really? Not many. Dudes are here to get laid. My understanding of the complicated check in process is to make sure drugs aren’t being used in the premises. Fine by me. I don’t need zombies and crackheads to spoil the vibe. This whole space is unconventional. Go in chill, pay - get undressed - get your key - try to get laid. If you are expecting something more than this why even bother. There are few gay saunas left in the world and here we have some drama gays giving one star reviews. Really? When these places are all gone you’ll appreciate them more. 4/5

Negative experience: I went there with my boyfriend on the 22nd of July. To say the least NONE of the warm facilities worked - the jacuzzi was luke warm, the sauna was closed for maintenance and the steam/dark room was also freezing. The only room that was okayish was the one with warm chairs. No working facilities in a so called “Sauna”. Very disappointing, would never return there again!

Fantastic experience: We’re a little apprehensive about visiting this sauna after the bad reviews- but found it well worth a visit; tidy, showers&sauna all working, spacious and the staff on their toes to keep the place clean and in order.. and mostly friendly and patient to explain the locker system (ok sometimes they also get stressed). We returned the next day (a Saturday) found it more busy but still of high standards.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing place - great location ! Super fun ! The employee tau something. ( sorry I can remember correctly the name ) he is blonde white guy - super amazing attention ! But the Asian guy I can see why they get bad reviews - he give me actitud bc I was goin to get a my towel and I didn’t know I have to return the yellow bracelet- wick is cool- all he has to do is explain and chill out with the bad actitud! Any way - I would totally go back ! Hope the manager see this review ! I come from the biggest LGBT bar restaurant in Miami Beach Florida - and for sure I would recommended guest to visit you ! Keep up the good work !
