Negative experience: We have been going for years. I would have left a months ago tbh but as we are moving it didn’t make sense to find a new place. I would not choose this establishment again. They don’t train just let them play. A bunch of young kids with no experience run the toddler, young kids classes. They are clueless. I can see how they are built for squad training and that is all they seem to care about. I received 0 feedback on the development of my children, it is because there is no development And it is expensive for what you get.

Positive experience: My two daughters have attended Revolution for a number of years and they really enjoy it. There is a variety of good, well maintained equipment, and the girls are improving in their gymnastics and receive regular certificates to keep them engaged. The cafe is beginning to look a bit tired, so perhaps they could invest in this space for the future.

Negative experience: I have had a negative experience with this establishment, particularly regarding their handling of complaints. I have been a customer for several years, but after witnessing a male staff member shouting at children under four years old, I felt compelled to raise my concerns. I attempted multiple times to speak with a manager, but the reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive. They informed me that no managers were available, which was misleading because my friend saw two managers chatting on the premises. In all honesty, I would advise against spending your money here. I would give this place 0 stars.

Google Reviewer 10 months ago

Negative experience: Unless your child is in a squad they will not be treated well or taken seriously. They charged me £9 per trial but on their website it stated that trials are £0 they refused to give me a refund. The staff do not like children and were very rude and unprofessional. Front reception are not warm and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: My son attends the 4.30 session on Saturday he had anxiety around being the last person to arrive as a result he did not want to participate in the lesson. Oscar came over and helped Henry giving him individual support to finally have him transition into the last part of the lesson. This is fantastic in the way of support and it was really appreciated! Thankyou

Negative experience: I would rate 0 stars if I could. You see when you have a flurry of bad reviews, take heed. 7 years of money down the drain, no progression, lack of customer service, they allow older children to be disrespectful to younger children, even with being notified about it, they do nothing. So parents take matters into their own hands to be told not to speak to minors lol. Foolishness. Quick to take your money, quick to beg when their establishment and staff wages need support but don't have the common decency to update you on your childs progress. I've seen first hand revolution coaches only attending to their favourites, whilst others children look helpless, bored and slightly confused. They only care about upholding trophies! And don't get me started on competitions. What new skill is learnt please? Same old, dry competition. Jump over the vault, swing round the bar and do the splits on the floor. Yawn. The ONLY coach I can commend is Helen, it's a shame she left but I don't blame her, I see why. Don't bother waste your money, your child will have nothing to show for it at the end.

Fantastic experience: Great gym My daughters go here and are very happy and love coming all the staff are amazing Very friendly, and easy to approach if needed Keep up the good work ❤️

Negative experience: My son started gymnastics, first 2 lessons he was totally ignored by the 3 staff in the group and spent at least 20 mins just standing at the back while the time was spent with current members, 2nd lesson this happend again so reported this to staff. Was a slight improvement but there wasnt much enthusiasm. So we tried trampolining, the teacher was alot better but the kids messed about alot and spent alot of the time waiting their turn and watching others. It came to summer and the site was closed for 2 weeks, had no text or email which they said theyd sent out, checked my spam and folders NOTHING! So my son got fed up and wanted to leave. So we emailed and they bcuz missed the cut off a few days they want all of the August paid, even though he hadnt been all of july and the disappointment we had. After raising my concerns they still just want the money and no good will was issued. I see this as more of a money making business than any best interest of the kids. Safe to say you can have the money and we will not be returning!!!!!!! So i wrote this then looked at other reviews!! Seems like im not the only one!! You need to sort staff attitude and customer service out!!! Disgrace!!!

Negative experience: Would give zero stars if i could! My son attended weekly recreational classes for over a year when he was scouted and asked to try out for the boys novice competitors team. Before the second try out he was extremely anxious (he is a very anxious little boy) I made the coach aware that he was feeling nervous and asked could she keep an eye on him as it was a 2 hour class. She looked at me like I was from another planet and didn’t fill me with much confidence that she would look after him or even check on him, that was my first red flag! After his second initial class after getting accepted into the team he came home in tears begging me not to send him back as the coach Itara had shouted in his face and screamed at him to get to the back of the line when he couldn’t complete an action on the bar. Firstly, I don’t know what planet she lives on thinking it’s acceptable to shout at someone else’s child and secondly she’s very lucky I have more decorum and decided to handle this in a different way and didn’t take it upon myself to get in her face and scream! My son refused to even go back to his recreational class and won’t even join the competition team for his swimming classes now in case that too “takes all the fun out of it”. The lasting effect this has already had on a fragile little boy honestly is so upsetting. After notifying both the coach and reception team about this incident and stating that my son would not be returning they ‘kindly’ waved the cancellation fees. My son did not attended any future classes the whole of the following month yet I was sent a threatening letter for non payment of fees with debt collection threats soon after! After raising this as a formal complaint the fees were rightly so waived along with a very passive aggressive email from the complaint team. During this whole process nobody offered my son an apology over the way he was treated and the lack of accountability is a massive safeguarding issue for me, especially when working with such young children. DO NOT send your children here, the staff are unprofessional, unethical and think they have the god given right to shout at children!!! Avoid ,Avoid, Avoid!!

Fantastic experience: First timer as an adult doing any sort of gymnastics. The coach I worked with was great... Thank you.

Negative experience: Agree with all the 1 star reviews, this place is terrible, coaches have no enthusiasm, staff are rude, pick up is a headache, they offer no support or focus. The kids just run around for £36 a month. Absolute waste

Rannel Rich 1 year ago

Negative experience: Very poor communication staff unfriendly, Receptionist rude with no manners whats so ever and its over alll disorganised

Lis 1 year ago

Negative experience: It’s expensive the toilets always seem to be broken lights broken water always on the floor not enough seats for parents to wait families reserving seats when know one is sitting on them staff are not professional my daughter loves gymnastics is a shame that a place with all the right equipment cannot show abit of professionalism to paying parents not everyone that has a skill should teach! You have to pay for competitions pay for certificates ridiculous

Guo Yiming 2 years ago

Negative experience: It's a waste of money and time! We decided to go to this gym as it's only 10 mins drive and the facilities look fancy when I checked their website. However the coaches there have no enthusiasm or passion on teaching and training the children. It's obvious they hate their jobs but they are stuck there. They just stand around or sit on carpet all session and telling children what to do without showing them. My daughter is a little shy and nervous in new environment but she will settle in and gain confidence after 2 or 3 lessons like she did on her dance class and swimming class because the teachers are encouraging and supportive. But I have seen observing their sessions and unfortunately the coach didn't even be bothered to help her to make her feel included. The pick up after class is also chaotic. We will have to wait at the door outside the warehouse and children with only leotards and shorts come straight outside shivering. I can understand this one way system if it's during Covid but now it's just making pick up cold and miserable for the kids and parents.

Demurr Corp 2 years ago

Negative experience: I don’t have the energy to explain all the problems with this place but trust me, you do not want to send your child here. The last two reviews are extremely accurate & only begin to indicate the many issues. Every year they put the price up. They have endless holidays but expect you to pay whilst they don’t even open. You pay overpriced fees 12 times per year & they only attend around 9.5-10 months. Instructors need instruction- no people skills, unexpressive, boring, don’t actually teach the kids properly. The sad thing is there aren’t a lot of places within the city to take your child gymnastics, so you are left with having to settle neverrrrr getting value for money, slow progress or simply don’t send your child gymnastics which is the sad choice I’ve had to make :(

Heidi wentworth-foster 2 years ago

Negative experience: Unfortunately I would not endorse this club. They have a bit of a monopoly and I think they abuse this. Their fees are ridiculous. The fact you have to give a months notice is ridiculous. My daughter has been going for 18 months and can barely do a roly poly, they do not teach. There are a money making machine, if your child is average don’t bother, they show no interest, if they have potential they probably treat them better. Honestly a lot of the time I would be looking at my kid and she would all but be ignored. They are inflexible and corporate and I’m annoyed with myself for going as long as we did.

Loot Toot 2 years ago

Negative experience: Repetitive, uninspiring and overpriced. Great facilities that's for sure, however, some student coaches need more training on how to teach and communicate better with the little ones (aged 4 to 6). My little one asked to do gymnastics and I'm so disappointed, that it resulted in them being bored. The one coach only instructed from the tablet. The only physical demonstration I saw was the stretching at the beginning. Definitely need to learn how to engage and keep their attention. Some children are better at taking direction if they have a lead to follow. A note about the coaches. I believe they are actual students of revolution (present, maybe past to). My little ones coach looked about 16. Just because they are trained gymnasts, doesn't mean they should teach it. I encourage parents to discreetly and without distraction, see exactly how and what they are doing, and ultimately, if the coach they have is right for them, after all, you are paying for it! For anyone who has a child interested in gymnastics from age 7/8, you can see really good attention being given to them and the detail to achieve visible goals. Would definitely recommend for older children.

Ash Monem 2 years ago

Negative experience: Worst management ever, they deny 10 year old girl for attending a class, left outside without her parents around, because of poor communication, they hardly answers the calls, they don't even know how to communicate opening hours.

Ahmed Gadelrab 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: I would like to express my positive experience with this gymnastics center catering to young children. Over the past three years, my daughter has received training here, and I have observed notable improvements. Initially, I had reservations regarding the center's strict adherence to dates and timings, but as time went on, I witnessed the positive outcomes firsthand. It is worth mentioning that Revolution Gymnastics has garnered a reputation on a national scale, particularly for their participation and achievements in the West Midlands competition

Positive experience: Idk y

Ben Graham 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: We have had a great experience with Revolution. Fantastic coaching and real progression seen in our gymnast. The facilities are modern and well thought out. Some of the other reviews complain about hard-line rules on punctuality - this is a busy club with competitive teams, why should other classes or activities be disrupted due to other people's lateness?

Karel Krikava 2 years ago

Negative experience: Very unprofessional and rude staff (hard to name as they only communicate anonymously via email so you never know who you are dealing with), slow communication when trying to resolve complaints and management isn't even bothered to communicate with members if you feel there's a problem. Loyalty doesn't count here. Main characteristics of these people is arrogance and greed. Unless you have a problem everything seems OK, don't be fooled!!!

Negative experience: Worse unprofessional racists place I’ve ever visited with my little daughter! I don’t know the mangers name exactly Katherine or something very unprofessional lady and the girl on the reception even worse Becky or whatever her name is. Best believe I will make a TikTok about this place didn’t even give us our refund back. Disgusting creatures

Khaleeq Hafeez 3 years ago

Negative experience: Seems like a waste of money so far. Coaches have no enthusiasm or compassion towards the children. The coaches will stand around all session without showing the children anything. I have seen children of less ability be ignored all session where the coach can't even be bothered to help them with a forward roll to make them feel included.

Fantastic experience: My granddaughter's school gone to them

Chris Floyd 3 years ago

Negative experience: Was recommended this place by someone for my son. We have called probably 15 times and nobody ever answers the phone or responded to voicemails. Will take my business elsewhere

Mark Twist 4 years ago

Positive experience: My 2 daughters, 7 and 3,, both love it here. Coaches are friendly and supportive. Facilities are excellent as well. One negative is the cafe which, I feel, should offer, more healthy and nutritious food for the gymnasts. Snack choices are treats rather than the type food the gymnasts should be eating before and after their hard work. Also there are no recycling facilities.

neesy 4 years ago

Negative experience: Reception staff are very very rude. Really good equipment but the staff are pretty much useless unfortunately. My daughter enjoys it a lot but for the price you don't receive much within the 45 min session. Also then memberships are literally sky high wow. Each week I feel as if I'm been ripped off but my daughter really wants to stay. I will be waiting a few months and if I don't see a vast improvement I'll be finding another place. Most likely will be cheaper and better anyway

Djamila Tshombo 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: I came here for my first day, and all I can say is....AMAZING! I was so impressed with the equipment and the coaches and other members of staff are so friendly. As soon as I walked in I knew im never leaving this place. However, the only complaint I have is that they will not let you in if your over 5 mins late. But other than that I'd totally recommend this place IT IS AWESOME .

Matt Sharp 4 years ago

Negative experience: Not suitable for children looking to do Gymnastics for recreational purposes. This club has had a negative impact on my daughters enthusiasm for Gymnastics. They are also very focused on money and this is reflected in the high monthly cost. A couple of things to be aware of:- 1/ If you are late, even by a couple of minutes you will not be allowed entry as they lock the doors. (We had to travel 40 minutes through traffic and got caught out a couple of times by this policy) 2/ We you cancel you have to give a months notice - in effect if your child no longer wishes to attend classes you will pay the current month plus you have to pay an additional months fees even if you child no longer wishes to attend.

Negative experience: Treble treble treble policy... Expensive Not valuable Just show off Not recommended at all

Hannah Novak 4 years ago

Negative experience: I do not recommend this facility for recreational gymnastics. My children have been going here for several years for toddler classes, the soft play and recreation classes. The soft play was great, toddler classes not so much. I’m not convinced that the coaches had worked with such young children before. The recreational classes were on the whole ok, except there was always a lot of waiting around, and given the price it’s not particularly good value. However, there has been questionable customer service and variable standards of coaching and interaction with the kids over the years. We persevered because the kids seemed to enjoy more often than not. We noticed however that the eldest was getting bored and complaining of doing nothing new in classes. There is lots more that could be said about individual experiences over the past few years, which we tried to ignore as we wanted to like this gym. However, the nail in the coffin was last week being refused entry to a 4 hour holiday camp due to being 12 minutes late because of traffic, even after phoning ahead, and having never ever been late in the past 3 years. No compassion, no humanity, no attempt to accommodate my 5year old (with additional needs). The end result was a very traumatised child. One member of staff on the day was very rude. I complained and was offered a voucher but was refused a refund because ‘it’s not policy’. We kept paying over lockdown because we wanted to support the gym, but no such support was returned. There was a complete failure to understand the effect their decision had on my child, where this was meant to be a fun holiday camp. Management initially relied on different reasons for refusing to admit my child. The logic in the argument was baffling. It was therefore very easy to conclude that this is not a good place for my children to be. I cannot risk this happening again. The whole saga was a complete disgrace and they should be ashamed of themselves. I do not recommend to anyone, especially with children with additional needs. I have found a smaller and seemingly friendlier facility for my children.

Nabeela Abdul 4 years ago

Negative experience: Worst ever gymnastics ever, had my three daughters attending for the first time and they are put off for life, would strongly not recommend, very disappointing. Not compassionate or sympathetic, my children were treated like animals not humans!!!

Telos Airu 5 years ago

Negative experience: Do not be fooled by this companies outstanding equipment. The staff are rude, and are all about money. They have charged ridiculously without my child attending. They are terrible at answering the phone line and have no sense of customer service. You are just a number to them, as you WILL find out

Alexa Evans 6 years ago

Negative experience: My son attended today for a taster session. When I walked in I was greeted by a pretty unfriendly instructor. My son has both verbal and physical dyspraxia which I explained to her straight away. I wanted him to try trampolining as I really wanted to work on his coordination and core strength. Just because he has these extra needs doesn't mean that this class would be unsuitable for him. I left my son and went and watched through the window. I could see he was crying and the instructor was trying to get him on a trampoline that was quite high off the ground. The way she was talking to him was not nice or friendly. She was just looking very annoyed that he would not get on the trampoline. My son was so upset he refused to go back in. I know had it of been an instructor that took the time to make him feel comfortable he would of loved it. It's hard enough for children with additional needs without having grown up behaving in this way. It's also very upsetting as a parent to see this type of behaviour. I'm sure she's a very good instructor but maybe needs to take a bit of time with the children as it's a big thing to start a new group. I haven't given it 1 star as the man in the desk was friendly.

Ràchel Bryan 6 years ago

Negative experience: My 2 daughter's attend 2 gym class a week. They do enjoy them, however, I was horrified to see a coach recording other children during their class with personal phones. I did not see anywhere in the policies about staff using personal phones to record children, surely revolution should be using club recording devises. To use personal phones must be breaking safeguarding laws.

Revolution Gymnastics
Revolution Gymnastics

Hi Rachel, if any of competitive coaches use their personal devices to record part of a training session it is either used for performance feedback with the gymnast or because the gymnast has learned a new skill which gets uploaded to our private parent facebook groups and sometimes on our main social media platforms, for which all members have given consent. Videos, photos are uploaded to a shared file and then deleted from personal devices. We are extremely pleased to know that your daughters enjoy their classes and especially that they come to us twice per week. Perhaps a 1 star is a little harsh considering :)

Fantastic experience: Fantastic birthday venue for my 12 yr old son! Superb facilities, great staff .

Negative experience: I was here for a taster session for my 3 year old. At the entrance in reception the lady was quite rude telling me i was late and would not be invited in but to try anyway if i wanted. I went in and the instructor said it was fine, we starter the session which it wasn't too bad i must say, only thing it's that the instructor should be more involved with the children even though we parent are there to help them. I had decided to sign in and pay for the membership but i wasn't feeling very happy, so i decided to check the reviews and i am shocked at how many bad reviews there are, and how recent as well!. There is obviously a lot of improvement that needs to be done , therefore i am not joining anymore and will look for something else. Hopefully they will train their staff better and get a better reputation. all the best

revolutions customer 6 years ago

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with this gymnastics club. You have an ugly environment here where adults who are supposed to train and inspire young children are actually doing the opposite and bullying them. My child attended and was subject to intermittent bullying by a member of staff, dependant on the staff members mood at the time. Rather than encouraging children this staff member would alienate them by doing the following. 1. Gossip about children to other children within the group. 2. Discuss conversations they had with parents to other children within the group. 3. Provide no feedback to the child if they were unhappy with their performance. 4. Ignore the child. 5. Mock the child’s ability to their peers in the childs presence! I have never seen anything like this! Why are you so antagonistic to young children ? What kind of person are you? It’s disgusting. We are paying customers and you are providing a service. If you are unable to be professional or do not like children then perhaps you should find another vocation. This is not an isolated occurrence, many customers have vocalised similar issues but have been unable to address for fear of their child being targeted. They also cancel sessions and do not replace them. If you are thinking of sending your child to this gymnastics club then I would seriously suggest you reconsider.

Revolution Gymnastics
Revolution Gymnastics

Hello Revolution Customer; this is certainly not the club's policy or objective. We're very sorry you have experienced/ witnessed this awful treatment. We can reassure that this member of staff no longer works for the club. Please do email your concern to [email protected]. We will be more than happy to discuss this further.

Sarah Asher 6 years ago

Negative experience: My 2 year old son broke his leg here because they let adults bounce on the parkour trampoline at the same time as children. I didn't realise it was so dangerous until it was too late. My son is in a lot of pain and may have to have surgery as it's a messy break which has gone through the growth plates in the bone. Gyms run by Birmingham council like Metchley Lane Gym cover their trampolines with a crash mat and Rush trampoline park in Stirchley have a very strict safety policy; I now I realise why. I think these would be safer options for midweek toddler play.

Revolution Gymnastics
Revolution Gymnastics

Hi Sarah, a member of management has contacted you by email today. We're so upset to hear about your son's break. This is certainly not our policy and do not allow adults to bounce on trampolines during soft-play sessions. The CCTV footage is being reviewed and dealt with accordingly.

Fantastic experience: It looks good going to give a call because I love gymnastics and I have a Passion for it

Laura Hindley 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: An amazing gymnastics club. Friendly well experienced staff who are helpful and hard working. I take my little girl to soft play and she loves it. A state of the art facility that is superb. I highly recommend this gymnastics club for all levels and stages of your gymnastics career.

Cleo Hallan 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility with excellent one on one and group sessions for adult beginners. It's really hard to find this kind of thing elsewhere. Lucy is a great coach, knowledgable and pushes you just the right amount. I wouldn't agree with the other reviews that say staff don't know what they're doing or that they can't communicate. I was easily directed to a trainer, told lesson times and also given the option to change trainer if I didn't like my first one (which I had no need to do).

Charlotte Pollard 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: State of the art gymnastics facility. Lovely staff and well structured programmes in tumbling, gymnastics and trampolining, as well as soft play, parties and holiday camps. Would recommend.

Sheila Ruth Ring 7 years ago

Negative experience: If possible I would give 0 stars. Parking is always a hassle, nearby businesses threatening to slap £100 parking fines if you park in their parking bays by taking CCTV images, staff very rude, inconsiderate, too many children in one session. Would not recommend at all.
