Active Northumberland

Negative experience: Poor pricing structure. Even if you live in a town with a small, poorly-resourced and outdated leisure centre, rather than one of the larger towns that have large, well equipped centres with additional resources, you have to pay for full membership. This prices a lot of people out, because the cost of the full membership - the only membership option offered by Active Northumberland - far exceeds what’s reasonable for your local service. Of course, there is the option to travel to other towns, but this rather defeats the point! The staff in the centres are fantastic, but those centres exist regardless of Active Northumberland. I’m glad to hear the contract for Northumberland’s leisure centres is going to a new provider from April 2024

Negative experience: The staff and facilities are excellent and I would of given Ashington Leisure Centre more stars, however, the management of the place are clearly anti-community and in cahoots with the UN WEF Agenda 2030. I had the right money in CASH for gym session (no change required) despite the staff opening the cash drawer on multiple occasions, I was forced to pay with a card! Please help me stop this tyrannical attitude from AN management, INSIST ON PAYING CASH when using the facilities here! If you don't use cash we will loose it. Let us show AN how wrong their absolutely pathetic discriminatory abusive policy is, which is extremely unfair and ultimately exclusionary to service users. AN management really suck maybe they should pay more attention to fixing the hand dryer in the disabled toilet rather than making up these backward exclusionary policies and restricting payment methods which is completely unnecessary ...
