Fantastic experience: Great place for playing badminton. There are several facilities including squash, swimming etc.
Fantastic experience: Safe swimming space. One time I wrote an email complaining about a swim lesson coach who was picking on my 9year old daughter and never applauding or encouraged her little swimming efforts. This coach only had negative things to say about my child to me. My daughter's emotional and mental health became affected negatively and she asked me to put a stop to her swim lessons. After I complained by word of mouth then went ahead to send an email. That coach was relieved of his duties as I am 100% certain that I was not the only parent who complained about his negative and poor teaching approach. This swim centre cares about the mental,emotional and physical health of their members and guests.
Positive experience: Had a good swim and play but some features were not working. Nice variety of pools.

Positive experience: I had visited this centre to play badminton, it’s got all the facilities but slightly building is quite rundown

We have recently invested in repairing the water fountains throughout the centre, decoration throughout, full replacement of the health and fitness showers, pool features repair including the viper slide and we have recently given our squash court specialist contractor the go ahead for refurbishment to all four squash courts.

Negative experience: Adding fee for first month and direct debit for second month , I have been charged more than 115pounds for the swimming lessons but my daughter had only two session so far . The trainer seems happy to cancel the lesson (2 times within 4 lessons already)and notify us just before half hour of the lesson . Ridiculous.

Negative experience: Main snake slide not working and apparently hasn't been for 9 months with no plans to repair it as they said whole centre is moving. Generally pretty tired and neglected swimming facilities. At £32 for a family not great value. Kids enjoyed but wouldn't rush back.

Positive experience: Booked a Squash court for 40 mins, very straightforward. The courts are looking tired, and the walls are starting to fail, which isn't good, considering the courts need to be flat, right ? Never the less still a good cardio puff session. Will probably book again. However, the courts do need attending, too.

Negative experience: It was clean but the slides weren't working and the jacuzzi, sauna was of.If you came for the slides it's not worth it.

Negative experience: Shocking. Flume never working. All locks on toilet and changing rooms are broken so people just walk in. They all go mad with their whistles when U use the small slide. It's a dying clown show at this place. Don't waste your time

Negative experience: Update: Snake slide - closed. Sauna - closed. Swimming test - closed to under 8s, even if can swim. It's like they are trying to mismanage this pool into closure. Such a shame.

Positive experience: Good range of classes, sports and facilities. Air con is often not working, changing rooms need updating
Thank you for your feedback. Our air conditioning is fully operational, but does require repairs from time to time which are always completed as quickly as possible. Our changing rooms have recently seen upgrades including new showers.
Negative experience: I don’t know who is running the place but the manager is letting the centre die! The swimming pool has been cold for months and i am told its normal temperature but when my kids come out there swimming lessons shivering and blue lips saying they don’t want to return and they are in outdoor wetsuits i don't believe the temperature is “normal”. I hear they just spent money on improving the gym that was a waste of time when clearly something is broken in the boiler, money well spent. Stop lying to your customers or the very little customers you have left. I shall be cancelling and going somewhere else that can actually provide a good service! I just feel so sorry for the swimming teachers who are amazing and have to deal with the cold temperatures everyday and get the brunt of the complaints when they can’t do anything about it as the manager of the centre clearly doesn’t care!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Whilst we have experienced issues with our hot water system our pools have remained within our operating parameters. On occasion where the temperature has been lower than normal we have aimed to communicate this prior to customers entering the pool and we are sorry that this does not seem to have been clear for your visit. These issues have proven to be frustrating for the Management team however we are now confident the cause of the issues has been resolved. It is great to hear positive feedback regarding our swimming teacher team and we will ensure that this feedback is passed to them
Positive experience: We really enjoyed our swim but the Clorine level must be too high. I am suffering with constant sneezing, sore throat and itchy eyes and ears! Would love to visit again but worried about Clorine, as I have read it can be careening!

Positive experience: Really nice swimming pool great slides. Lovely pool for the under 7's . The only complaint I would have was the main pool when I went had a lot of restrictions so you had a lot people in the pool in a limited amount of space but otherwise nice place. Staff were very accommodating and very polite

Negative experience: Only for family time in swimming pool - don't go! Viper closed, sauna closed, half of lockers broken and full of water. Cold And that's only what, 5 years after refurbishment.

Positive experience: Having read the negative reviews, but with no where else to swim locally as a visitor, I took a chance and these are my findings First I warn all swimmers to have 20p for a locker. I had plenty of change but no 20p so I had to go back to reception. A visible sign at reception stating 20p is necessary for a locker would be helpful. Be warned, once you open the locker you cant’ re lock it without a further 20p so if you want a shower after your swim find somewhere near the pool for you towel and soap The staff were helpful when I asked a question and the general cleanliness was acceptable

Negative experience: Big swimming pool extremely dirty gym terrible showers awful sauna bad thw list goes on. To be fair the sooner it closes the better I don't go there any more. Its totally gone down hill not even worth 1 star so sad

Positive experience: I can’t give .5 stars but I’d give it a 3.5. My 2 year old loved it. There was family changing with space for baby to lay and change. Main slide out of action but toddler pool with small slide was great fun. Facility is aged and could be cleaner but great time with the kids. Reception staff was very helpful, had change for the lockers 20p to use. Lots of kids having fun.

Positive experience: Good leisure centre, has wave machine, some smaller slides, large slide is out of use, staff were friendly and helpful. Children have to prove they can swim 2 lengths to get a wrist band to allow them access to the deep area of the pool.

Positive experience: We went there for the big snake slide , looked on website it seemed open..got there children mega excited only to find out it was closed due to maintenance. They did put out a large inflatable obstacle course. All the children had to do a swimming test 1 length of pool to go on inflatable and 2 lengths to go in the deep end..sounds ok but it had to be front crawl..my 2 even though are brilliant at breast stroke and back stroke found 2 lengths front crawl quite difficult but there were no exceptions had to be front crawl..hhhmm. Also quite expensive £40 for 1 adult and 3 children for 1.5 hours ..tried it done it probably won't go back

Positive experience: Our 7 year old son loved the white slides, inflatable and waves! But the large python slide wasn't working, though it didn't say this on the website. It is having essential maintenance. I booked online so we only saw a message about this when we went. Lovely big family changing rooms though, we will go again.

Negative experience: No parking. Place is dirty. Slides out of order. Moody staff. Children not even aloud on inflatables unless they can swim two full lengths of the pool with out any issues even if parents are with them. Not aloud in the deep if don't pass the same test. Jacuzzi is tiny. Little pools are rubbish. Overall really disappointed with this place. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

To ensure the safety of swimmers, we carry out swim tests for 25m swimming ability – if you are unable to swim this far unaided you will need to stay in shallow water.
Positive experience: I love this little gym space with boxing gear and bags, the AC is good on these hot days and music is loud. BUT PLEASE CLEAN THE DRINKING FOUNTAINS ALL OVER. The fountain in the big gym space is growing little leaves and I don’t think that’s a part of the sustainability strategy. Thanks!

Positive experience: Children's pool is good wave machine decent. Large slide broken been that way for a while is my understanding place was generally unclean such a shame could be really good swimming centre for south London but let's itself down! Better needs to do better. Staff we're really welcoming and friendly facilities not so good needs Better leasure to invest in the upkeep of the facilities won't be going back untill these things are addressed!

Negative experience: Went here for a little fun day for my daughter’s birthday. Booked online And was kicked out after 5 minutes. because she had to prove she could swim 25 metres. So everytime a child comes in with there parents they gotta prove they can swim because they come to have run and get kicked out. Will never come here again! I was gonna watch my kids. Do u think I wasn’t?! ps I can swim myself so why dose my daughter have to prove that disgusting messed up my kids day. Little dirty aswell

Negative experience: I find absolutely appalling that on one of the hottest days of the year, this gym refuses to turn on the A/C in the upstairs gym. The A/C has been either non-operational for a ridiculously long time or they are looking to save a few quid. What are our membership fees paying for Seriously considering moving gyms over the lack of care for its customers. Broken equipment takes several weeks for repair. Shocking…
Thank you for your feedback. Most gym equipment is repaired within 48 hours, however if it requires major repairs then this can take a little longer. Gym air temperatures have remained within recommended levels, however we will continue to monitor this especially during the hottest times of the year.
Negative experience: Arrived on a Monday afternoon. None of the slides or kids pools open. Just the main leisure pool which isn't appropriate for my youngest. We live in an age of information technology. Why is this information not available before you get to the pool? I've reported it to the Advertising Standards Authority. I suggest you do the same so that when they build the new facility they will try and run it more transparently...
Thank you for your feedback. During the booking process it does state that swim for all bookings only provides access to the leisure pool. For the slides and other pool features you would need to book the family fun swimming session which is available on Wednesdays (4pm – 7pm) which is discounted to £5 for the whole family of 6. You can also book Family Fun on weekends and school holidays between 10am – 5pm.
Negative experience: Really poor experience. Mold everywhere. Big slide is not open even though it is in ads. Propably because a lot rust of in the support beams. A lot of the pools were in club use so normal swimmers couldn't use but 1 or 2 small pools. Even though my daughter passed their swimming tests. She was not allowed to the deeper part of the pool for an unknown discriminatory reason. Will be never going back again.

Negative experience: I booked a birthday party for my son, months before his party. I have been trying to get through to someone at this leisure centre to discuss some aspects of the booking and the party but I was never able to get through. i called the call centre many times and they have sent various emails to this leisure centre requesting them to contact me but I heard nothing - even the call centre tried calling the waterfront leisure centre but were not able to get through. So I went there on a saturday and a woman at reception said she doesn't know anything about birthdays or bookings and gave me another persons email, which I have emailed plenty of times but of course with no response. I was also told on the phone that someone will contact me 72 hours before the party which never happened! So the day comes and its my sons birthday, one parent arrived before us, only to be told that there is no birthday! When I arrived, there was no knowledge of the party, I was even asked if I said for it?!!! having said that, of course my anxiety level is extremely high as I had around 20 parents coming with their children, and food ordered etc. I explained that no one called, or responded to my email, only to be told the email is wrong- the woman who gave me the email was at reception at the time, and when i said she gave this email to me, she followed me upstairs to the random room they gave me as they "didn't know there was a birthday" shouting, telling at me, slamming the door - extremely rude They blanked that no one contacted me within 72 hours of the birthday and also blanked that no one responded to the emails and requests their call centre have sent. I asked to see the manager to complain, I explained what happened, he was a nice man with a nice smile, I asked for more chairs and he gave them to me - However, I had no apology of his staffs behaviour and no follow up. During the birthday, some of the parents complained that a swimming teacher was rude to them and shouted, he even told one of the parents she's not allowed to go upstairs with her daughter, when the parent asked why can't she? he said because she is not her daughter and started shouting. He even shouted at 2 children in the pool, my husband and another 2 parents. This is a place I would never ever go back to, and t is not recommended at all. This place should be rated zero stars.

Positive experience: Its really good! The changing rooms are kinda dirty, hair over the floors and mould in between the tiles. The slides and waves are really fun, me and my sister love them! The main thing tho that after you pay to go to the pool you still have to pay 20p for a locker!?!?! Over-all rating is really good! We'll be back soon!♡
Negative experience: The 1 star is literally and only because there is no option for no star. If it was upto me i would want this place to receive a closure notice effective immediately. So went to this place a few weeks ago with my mrs n my twins. Initially thought this place must be decent having gone here many many years ago. So got changed and headed out to the kids area and was greeted by mold all over the floor tiles decided to look past this and take a swim. Entered the pool and within 5 minutes. I had a big hairball floating right in my kids face. Felt disgusted at this point and wanted to leave. However kids were having too much fun and were refusing to leave so i ignored and carried on and was met with two more hairballs in the 45 mins we were there. Now its time for the finale!!!! So headed over to changing rooms to get dressed and get out and was met by a full bin a sanitary towel right on top full of blood. Knowing the fact that there was a lady swimming around whilst heavily on her menstrual cycle and my kids were swallowing the water (they are only 2 years old) made me sick to my stomach. So anyways, the very same night we ended up in A&E with my child suffering from a stomach bug and ear infection. If you want a splendid night at the A&E with your children suffering. Book yourself in to Waterfront Leisure Centre.

Our pool water is subject to rigorous management and testing procedures, is entirely safe, and would not have been the cause of the infection your child unfortunately received.
Negative experience: Women’s only swimming is NOT HIJABI FRIENDLY! Advertised as women’s only but the windows are see through to the pool from the street and front reception, with multiple instants of men peaking through. Also men peaking through the bleachers and male staff looking through the roof area. At the front desk I asked the worker if she could make sure men don’t look through the reception where she was (bare in mind my friend and I came in wearing an abaya and hijab), she ensured no one will but LIED. The men’s changing room is right by the pool so there were still men lingering after the previous swim session. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CENTRE FOR HIJABIS, NOT MUSLIM FRIENDLY!!

Negative experience: promises a women only swimming experience but was not hijabi friendly as male workers were present and it was easy for men to see us. and there was no indication that it would be this way when the question was brought up. very disappointed.

Negative experience: A pretty sad experience. Staff were rude and unhelpful at every point. The lockers don't accept Better tokens, instead taking 20p coins. The changing rooms are very dirty and littered. Half the facilities remain closed off even after booking them on the app. The website photos are quite misleading.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic assistance from Isioma today, who helped me navigate the booking system and amend my planned sessions. I was patiently talked through the process and given what I needed to book replacement swimming slots. Additionally we had a really enjoyable time during our swim. Would go again.

Positive experience: I have been coming here since I was a child but noticed how it hasn't been maintained. Pool is cold and the changing rooms are filth. This could be upkept so much better.

Our pools are maintained within set parameters to ensure the comfort of swimmers. On occasion, temperatures may fall lower than these parameters due to technical issues outside of our control, but we endeavour to resolve such issues as quickly as possible. Following recent investment works, general feedback from our customers is that the pool temperatures are now much more consistent.
Negative experience: Be aware that you won’t be able to access the facility if you don’t download the app. The facility is not the newest so you can expect broken showers (at the ladies changing room for swimming pool), hair dryers that better not to touch as they make very concerning noise. I did not use the gym recently but last time I did was fairly clean and spacious.

Negative experience: "The pools for toddlers and slides are good, but we didn't really enjoy it. The water was cold, even for me. It took me a while to get used to it. My daughter is almost 3 years old and shivered the whole time. The women's bathroom had a strong smell of urine. I've been to other leisure center bathrooms run by Better, and this was the worst. The lockers require a 20 pence coin, and I couldn't find any notice about it anywhere. Obviously, I didn't have a coin and left it open. The facilities are good but still have a lot of room for improvement."

Negative experience: The premises of the swimming pool are nice, but the staff is not very polite to foreigners. Some of them behaved rudely and arrogantly, they spoiled my mood for swimming. I was stopped twice when entering any of the pools because they say I have to have a child with me. We were there with a 10-year-old child and also 14 years with my husband and we saw a couple Children at this age swim on their own but with close supervision and will not play with me in the water like children under 6. So it was a stupid explanation that they had to give to me. Because I saw where they were moving. I changed out of my bathing suit so I would stand by the pool and watch them. One overly active employee rudely told them to get out of the pool. This is how they treat customers. My husband had to wear a swimsuit and stand by the pool to make them happy. I am disappointed with the approach to customers.

Negative experience: The web site says it shuts at 5 so I thought we’d get in by 4 pm because it’s your only allowed 1 hours swim time so we just turned up at 3.15 and was told rudely that last bookings were 3 pm no no swimming for today the kids are devastated because I haven’t been here for years and wanted to go somewhere special for them so I put off our local baths in east London for a better experience the web page shows how busy it is up until 5 pm so far m a little confused

Positive experience: Has the potential to be a nice place, but like most Better managed facilities seems to be badly maintained and staffed. Half the pool facilities were not working (hot tub, wave pool, water mushroom). The pool water is pretty cold, and they didn’t have enough staff to operate both sets of slides at the same time. Overall a really nice facility, just not living up to its full potential.
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately the hot tub and water mushroom are no longer operational. All other features though remain in use. We always strive to have every feature open simultaneously, but on occasion due to staffing shortages we may have to rotate features.
Negative experience: There needs to be a guard watching the Sauna it says you have to book and only 5 people per slot however, when I went there was up to 10 people squished into the sauna. There's a blatant disregard for members who have paid for their slot. I even saw people come from the gym upstairs and use it even tho it is clearly meant to be booked.. ended up waiting outside until I finally had a space to come in. If people don't obide by the rules why should I and others...

Negative experience: After 2 decades of going here since a young child. Now taking my children here for years. I'm sorry to say, for the first time I am very disappointed. The coloured wristbands yes it is for a hour. Got removed on the dot of the hour. The pool was empty 5 people left in the entire swimming centre. Why not give people extra time? It's the holiday. £23 for an hour is extortionate. Which doesn't include the changing time once you get in and lockers and getting kids changed. Better should review their policy and use common sense. You have empty swimming pools and more staff then actual people swimming. Last time I visit here. Such a shame. I hope the new venue in Central woolwich will be taking this under consideration!

Negative experience: I had a very bad experience there. When I just entered Leisure centre I said for personal staff I'm here for the first time so they didn't bother themselves to offer for any help, to show where is changing room, how to get lockers, and we asked at least 3 staff how to get locker, where is even Sauna we were ignored. All of them acted with us like we weren't customers. The leisure center staff was unprofessional and rude. Management should consider more about the Sauna service and who is booked that place, especially in the late evening. It was a Small Sauna that could fit max 5 people, but it was 8 inside cause some people even didn't book Sauna. After all, we got a refund. But 1hour experience was awful. Don't expect good service there

Negative experience: They don’t respect people’s times, they charge you 3£ if you don’t attend to classes but then they keep cancelling the classes an hour or half an hour before, they don’t even do it early and let people to plan something else or book other class, I understand the trainer can get sick or something can happen but not multiple times in a week and one week after other. I had 5 classes cancel in the last 9 days. They should have a plan b or provide more classes for us to choose in case of this things happens.
Thank you for your feedback. Classes are only ever cancelled due to staff sickness / unforeseen circumstances. Our Concierge team notify customers as soon has this happens by phone, and an automated email is also sent. We always provide as much notice as possible, but on occasion this may not be long before the class is due to start, depending on individual circumstances.
Positive experience: Overall, we were pleased with our Swimming session, and the Kids had fun. But we were disappointed that the Snake slide only came on once for 5 minutes. The Lockers require a 20p coin, and for many people including me, I rarely carry physical money. The Changing Rooms and Showers were reasonably clean and usable.
We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed your swim with us. The swimming pool features usually run in rotation, but the flume should have been on for more than 5 minutes and we apologise for the disappointment this caused.
Positive experience: I personally enjoy my time here at Waterfront Leisure Center but there few things that they need to improve such as the lockers upstairs are occupied for 24 hours and users take the key home and this has been addressed for over a year to unlock all of them. Changing room must be always tidy and clean and all rubbish bins must be emtied at the end of the night shift. Swimming pool must remain with standard water temperature but not only when for the occasions staff training to warm the water . We paying for services so you have to deliver and improve it.

Fantastic experience: I love to teach traditional Sivananda Yoga classes at the Waterfront Leisure Centre every Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. My students are very friendly and dedicated. Negative experience: They have few classes but you should start offering classes earlier in the morning around 7am for the people that has to work later and maybe to do swimming lessons for adults other days or swap then as some of us works in the evening, no everyone has an office job.

Negative experience: This pool is filthy. Changing rooms full of rubbish with urine smell throughout. Water in pools so cloudy you can't see the bottom of it. Smell of chlorine so strong, your eyes will burn. Orange and black mold everywhere on tile around the pool area. Just filthy.

Fantastic experience: Wow...it took us 2 hours to get there because of Blackwall tunnel so we missed our prebooked slot. When we arrived I explained to the lady on reception and she just calmly said no problem go park the car (I was in a disabled bay) go to buy your daughters goggles (she had lost hers) and come back, you can have your full hour. From then on I was impressed with the whole experience. The kids voted it the best pool and the staff were all friendly. Didn't use any other facilities so can't comment but definitely recommend

Negative experience: Disgusting, like swimming in a cloud. You cant even see the bottom at 2m. The staff said it was a mixture between dirt and chlorine. My son didn't want to swim or me! The changing rooms had food all over the floor, trying to change was horrible. and to top it off freezing showers. who ever the manager is PLEASE don't have the same staff at the new one opening in Woolwich!!!

Negative experience: Disgustingly dirty! I don't know how they are still open, because they are that filthy they should be shut down by environmental health. The pool sides when walking about is horrendous, I cut my feet on God knows what. Luckily my kids had swim shoes, children with thier adults couldn't access the deeper side which is ridiculous. They closed one pool for lessons so very limited to what you could use. Slides opened and closed willy nilly. I definitely don't recommend as the standards have dropped significantly and its clear that the staff don't really care. Avoid at all costs as you are more likely to catch something nasty from here. Don't waste your money prioritise your health and hygiene. Definitely will not be coming back!!

Negative experience: Poor hygiene of female toilets, poolside staff not helpful at all, water was cloudy, most of the pool was closed and only one slide operational, parking is a hell at this place. Never visiting again!!!!!! Waste of time. Only good thing the reception staff was helpful and friendly.

Negative experience: I have very mixed reviews for this place. Staff on front desk are friendly. Staff on pool side are also very friendly. Large water slide is great fun. It seems they open slides on rotation because of not enough staff which I understand. Waves are great fun too. My 2 year-old LOVED it. The down side is the water today was very cloudy. Womens changing room did smell like urine. Yes. There are wristbands everywhere, I don't think it's the pools fault. Swimmers need to put it in the bin. Buggy locks don't work. Remember to bring 20p for locker (you don't be getting that back). It can get VERY busy. It's hard to enjoy yourself when the pool is so busy. I'm not sure will visit again as my son found it over whelming

Fantastic experience: I would like to say a massive thank you to the assistant Manager and sammie and Bernice at waterfront leisure centre, I booked a badminton session and turned up with no equipment sammie was so helpful and went above beyond to find me some good equipment for my session as we was playing doubles, Bernice was really friendly and include us in her class session. Overall a really warm welcome from everyone especially the assistant Manager on the day dealing with all my queries can't wait to book another sessions

Negative experience: Water was cold , half of the slides were closed because of not enough staff to look after sold out place. Half way through we had alarm and had to stop having fun and get out of the water. People don’t look after their own children apparently. The water was quite dirty with wristbands floating in the water and bins overflowing. This place could be such a fun if everything worked, probably need more stuff. With one hour of travel to get there it was extremely disappointing. The cherry on top was someone having loud sex in the family changing area next to us. What an experience, we will definitely think twice before trying this place again.

On occasion it is necessary to hit the pool alarm in order for our staff to respond to an incident. We will always try to resolve the incident as quickly and safely as possible in order to limit any disruption to swimmers session times.
Fantastic experience: Summer holidays. Visited 3/8/2023 with my daughter and family. We had so much fun. We hadn't been for a while. The entrance had a make-over. No que to get in. We paid online, so it was quick and easy to get in and be given our wrist bands. The changing rooms were nice family sized rooms to change ib and they were nice and clean. One thing I thought shouldn't be allowed is that non swimmers are allowed to walk around with their shoes on, casually walking on the grills by the side of the water. They should be given shoe covers if walking around. I like that in every station there are lifeguards. I felt our children were safe, not just with us but from their surroundings. They also give children the opportunity to test their swimming skills to see if their strong enough. Then their given a se ond wrist band, to then be able yo go in the deep end. Kids love the waves and slides. They had so much fun. Also, the time slots that you're given are just not long enough. 1 hour slots thos include you changing tome and before you know your colour wrist band is being called. I think it should be at least 1hr 30mins or 2 hour slots. There just isn't enough time.

Negative experience: I had my daughters first birthday at the leisure centre, for 220£ it wasn't very good. We weren't allowed in the space where the party was being kept until the party started so setting up was non existence, there where gym equipment in the space that the little ones didn't know not to play with so parents had to keep dragging their kids away, there was a lovely young man who was helpful but the lady in the desk was very snappy, busy day Sunday and I know people are human but she came off a rude. The kids love the swimming but my kids first birthday didn't go the way I planned.

Negative experience: If I could rate it minus, I would. Lucky for them, they don't have that option here. I was looking for an indoor swimming pool with slides for my boys to enjoy. This place came up on some websites and people even said it was fun and a huge place and we thought we'll give it a go...boy, were they wrong! It's small and squashy and smelly and mouldy and grimey, I literally felt sick being there. We hadn't even stepped on the pool and the chlorine was strongly hitting our eyes and once in the water, I couldn't see anymore. The water was so painful to the eyes. Then, they kept closing off all the areas we were in. The steps to the slides are wonky and mouldy and feel like they're about to snap. The floors even had mould on them. We left so quickly. I forgot to mention the changing rooms, they were smelly and dirty and parents were using some vile language, I had to cover my boys' ears. The lockers area is weirdly on the other side of the changing area, very inconvenient when you have kids and lots of bags! Worst experience ever... anywhere!! I literally felt grossed out and sick!!

Negative experience: The place is dated, unclean, rusted, signs of damage and wear and tear… not well managed or looked after. The changing rooms were disgusting with rubbish left everywhere. The lady on reception. It helpful at all, why the attitude? Worst of all, the water is freezing. Shouldn’t be that way despite the weather. The children’s body really didn’t adjust. Seems a common issue with other reviews as well. Slides were decent, but due to a lack of staff, they had to keep closing them.

Negative experience: Worst customer service I have ever seen in a leisure centre. Not family friendly. Been asked to move my buggy for 30 minutes, during a one hour stay. Very unclean as well. Not recommended.

Negative experience: It’s sad I’m having to write this because previously when iv come it was better. Last two times iv been with my 3 kids, aged 3, 6 and 10, the water was so cold my kids were shivering. My 3 year olds lips turned blue coz the water was so cold and we had to get out after 45 mins being there. Also it was the family swim we booked. They didn’t even keep the slides open for long, after 10 mins they closed the slides. They didn’t even do the waves. Honestly I was really upset and shocked and worst thing was I paid £27 or £28 for that. It was a suprise treat for my kids, what a disappointment it was :(
Negative experience: I have never seen so dirty water in the pool. It was revolting. I stayed in only cause of my daughter but even her excitement was put the test when she spotted massive snot and we left. Waves and slides are the reason for extra star. Will never come back there again. They use 20p coins for lockers - beware. Who uses coins these days? Anyway staff is nice and friendly. Pictures are misleading - place is terribly tired.

Negative experience: Filthy and with rude staff. Toilets utterly dirty and smelt of urine. Used tampons in the changing room benches. Blocked and over flowing drains. Fairly standard for school holiday weeks. But also my daughter had her regular swimming lesson tonight. Should be a 30 minute class but started 9 mins late and ended 21 minutes later. When I asked the teacher about why I the lesson was short I got told I was a liar. The teacher was aggressive and rude.

Fantastic experience: I have a Better senior membership , which means I can use any Better gym or pool , I started coming a few weeks ago my usual place is Charlton Lido as I live down the road . Apart from the fact that charlton has a 50m pool , everything about the Waterfront the gym the people and the staff is superior and they do a Monday for seniors where you can play table tennis fantastic I shall be joining this week . I cannot understand some of the poor reviews of this place for me it is fab

Positive experience: Particularly enjoyed HIIT session with David. Most classes are run without proper session plan, but I felt David really knew what he was doing and his military style fitness session was a standout and really well-planned. Wish more such classes are run on regular basis. More swimming sessions for fitness for adults should be allowed in late evenings until 9:30 pm like in other Better leisure centres. Also more lanes should be made available to swim for fitness adults. Feet straps on rowing machines are broken for a while and should be replaced. Someone needs to keep an eye on wear n tear and get this fixed quickly.
Fantastic experience: I love coming to the fitness classes here all the instructors I’ve had are great at pushing us all and making it fun some how. We’ve recently had a new instructor David that’s been doing a couple of the HIT Classes during the week, he really has made it worth going again and I would recommend these classes for people who loose motivation quickly in the gym. So worth it!!

Positive experience: If you are looking for brand new equipment and hi-tech flumes and waterslides then look somewhere else. But if you want friendly, helpful staff, a hands on manager, diligent cleaning crew, simple clean fun.. Then this is the place. Simplicity that sparks your imagination with it's tidal waves, one water slide and flume, designated age and swimming zones. We, my family (4 children aged 18 months to 10years, 2 adults) visited during half term; a notoriously busy time, but we were greeted by a welcoming, clean, organised reception. Iesha was on duty. She was very friendly and helpful. There was an issue with one of the customers in the queue she called for her manager who attended and resolved the matter promptly. He then further greeted and assisted all in the line. Real credit to him, as throughout our experience his presence was evident as he could be seen helping tie kids shoe laces to effectively managing his team. The pool staff were well resourced. Everyone clearly knew what they were doing and took their duty of protecting the patrons seriously. Staff were approachable and friendly. Cleaning crew were visual and made regular checks. Credit to the manager who could be seen attending to and dealing with any issues. The highlight of the day is the thought that was put into making it an enjoyable family fun swim. The music that blared the airwaves were kids appropriated including some Disney classics and we were even treated to a visit from a special guest Minnie mouse. Only criticism would be now I am singing all those kid pop songs. Thanks for a fantastic family day.

Fantastic experience: Half term has been great , the temperature of the pool and the centre has improved massively. The last few days we have had music on poolside that makes the experience that bit more fun ! There was free face painting ! To top it off we’ve seen Buzz , Minnie and Stitch around the centre ! So great seeing all the kids happy and enjoying them selfs it’s fantastic! well done to management and the frontline team :)

Negative experience: After receiving an email stating the offer was on a Wednesday indefinitely turning up at 6pm with 2very excited children we got turned away as only (conflicting info) the fitness pool was open- this was the 2nd time we have visited this pool. first time we paid and spent most the time we paid for on the side of the pool for a fire drill which was actually better than being in the icy cold water due to the heaters being broken but still took full price for a family! both times had a bad experience DEFINITELY won't be back!

Fantastic experience: Firstly i would like to say how impressed i was with the facilities at waterfront leisure centre. I was recommended by a friend to use this leisure centre and I can say i wasn't disappointed, i shall be returning very soon! Stuff made me feel so comfortable which is a big thing for me as i suffer with anxiety.There was a young lady on reception i think her name was iesha but im not sure, she could see i was anxious as i don't like going to new places but she made me feel so comfortable Thank you.

Fantastic experience: First time iv been to this place and I can honestly say the staff are amazing but the young lady on receiption was very polite and helpful as my first time going, she made sure I knew where everything was. Centre it's self is clean and very presentable and well signposted. I highly recommend for all ages to go to waterfront leisure center. Thank you for a great first experience and I will be returning.

Fantastic experience: The only gym in south east London worthy of a five star rating!!! From the excellent facilities to excellent customer service from staff members such as Ryan, Tiwa and the best assistant manager Jean! Wishing them all the best and keep up the good work!

Positive experience: I’m giving 4 stars as the family changing room smelled of urine- not a good start… However, the rest of the pool and the toilets seemed clean. The staff were really friendly. I nearly had a heart attack loosing one of my bracelets. I spoke to Amy and she went above and beyond to help me- she found the bracelet with all the charms that came with it, saving the day as it had a sentimental value. Our 4yo really enjoyed the slides and waves- we will definitely be back. I’d suggest to book an early slot as it did get busy towards the end of our session. Parking in a nearby car park was a bit of a challenge but we managed to find a spot.

Positive experience: I am giving this center a 4 star because of the length and breadth of activities available here. Recent upgrades and refurbishments have given it an enhanced vibe. Some of the staff is quite friendly and helpful, Daniel comes to mind. I am not giving 1 star for various things which can be improved, including opening times on weekends.

Fantastic experience: I took my 3 kids swimming last month and my youngest is still trying to find her feet with swimming, there was a lady in a green top with curly hair who went out of her way to be so helpful, she gave my youngest swimming aids to help her with her swimming. So attentive!

Fantastic experience: Went to waterfront with my nieces last weekend and had a lovely experience taking them swimming, one of my nieces has autism and was really struggling that day scared to get in the water full of people but the staff there were brilliant with her keeping her calm and comfortable going into the pool! Made her day!

Fantastic experience: Been going at this centre for gym and swimming now as a continuous member for just over 2 years. Staffs have been great so as gym/sport equipment that are available for customers to use. Staff such as Daniel, PT/PI, gave me really good advice on diet and workout. He is really become a friend now as I do see him so often. Needless to say all the staffs are nice, courteous and friendly. I do hope more people can see the positives and join a good center that has been standing for many years providing their utmost services to their local and faraway citizens.

Fantastic experience: The downstairs weights gym is really good, been training here for years now. I absolutely love it. the refurbishment they have have done for the upstairs stairs gym. Functional gym is soo more versatile now.
