Fantastic experience: I want to leave feedback for Jane on reception at Norwich. I was a bit nervous but wanted to find out about the 3 session personal trainer offer. Jane was lovely. She talked me through the offer and put me completely at my ease. She made me feel that she really had time for me. Negative experience: Opened a membership in march 2024, ended having a change in circumstances which I made the team aware of who confirmed I could cancel. As my change of circumstances did not come with a full address change they then back tracked and continued to take the money from my account. Facilities themselves really ain’t that great, wouldn’t recommend as there’s much better elsewhere.

Negative experience: Went today on a 3 day trial. Suffice to say I won’t be using the other 2 days. Gym itself is severely outdated, equipment broken and rusted with the suffocating atmosphere of morgue. Pool changing rooms are grimy, with mould in open view and looking like something from 80’s x rated movie. Pool area is just grim and depressing with the ‘hot tub’ utterly freezing and colder than the main pool. How on earth Nuffield Health are still in business is beyond me. I’ll be sticking to PureGym.

Negative experience: I just read through the other reviews, I would say 95% of the 1/2 star reviews are correct! Gyms over subscribed. Pools in dissaray. Changing rooms look like they're from 1980. The staff are not particularly helpful, unless you're an attractive women. Trying to cancel your membership should be as simple as logging into your account and clicking cancel but it never is and it just felt like a slog if I'm honest. I believe his name was Dan? Asked why I was cancelling, I explained the above and he didn't really care (seemed like a box ticking exercise) I'll be happy to spend my £54 a month somewhere else.

Positive experience: Currently there are far too many members The gym rooms can be so full it feels unsafe. People queuing to use equipment and no staff member can have clear sight on people. An accident will happen. Stop accepting more membership’s

Negative experience: Was a member there for over a decade and for a silly misunderstanding Mr Venes threw me out with a PT instructor acting like his bodyguard/thug not taking considerations that apart from being a member I was a individual that should be given the respect I gave him. All his approach was shooshing loud in front of others acting as he owns the place.. When used to be Greens used to be a lovely place - If in doubt message me for evidence and I’d be happy to provide it.. (Expt Nuffield club or related to)

Negative experience: Leaving a review because new leaflets in the gym ask for feedback, well here you go: Fast becoming impossible to find space to work out. The gym is massively over subscribed which isn't helped by personal trainers taking up so much room and hoarding equipment. Workout classes take place on the gym floor between 4 and 5, and this uses space and equipment so that getting to the gym before peak time doesn't make things better - seeing as these classes only use kettlebells and mats, can they not be done in a studio, rather than directly in front of the cable machines? There's an entire room full of treadmills which is only at capacity in January, meanwhile the weight room is bursting at the seams. Can the treadmill space not be repurposed for weights or calisthenics? It costs £60 a month and it's rare that I can turn up and do the full workout I've planned without waiting ages to use the equipment I want. Will likely leave if things don't change soon.

Negative experience: Came on a 12 day trial. Only took 3 days to see how far this place has fallen. Rusty broken gym kit, mold growing on the pool tiles, and a sauna that smells awful! Cold jacuzi tub to "save money" For 60 quid month their having a laugh!!!

Positive experience: I’ve found the pool/changing rooms to be really clean. The sauna and steam room are in good condition as far as I can see and there are a range of classes available each day, although some are difficult to book into. The staff are helpful & friendly and in general the space is decent compared to other pools in Norwich.

Negative experience: ANPR parking cameras installed without letting members know about the change in advance. Manager rude to me in front of two other staff when i asked if paying members might get £60 parking tickets. There was no apology, compared to other organisations the size of Nuffield they've lost their way when it comes to customer service.

Negative experience: This gym offers a very poor service for the money. It is next to impossible to book onto the exercise classes. I would expect a lot more from Nuffield as you pay a premium. The car park is also often full when I try to attend the gym, from talking to other members, this is a regular occurrence.

Fantastic experience: I've never seen so much whining about a gym. Honestly people love to moan. However I joined 2 years ago with my husband. I was nervous I've never liked gyms, full of pretty girls and pretentious and rude users. How surprised was I when I walked in and everyone was super friendly, helpful and just got on with their workout. Unfortunately my husband canceled the membership and at the time I couldn't afford to join on my own as he had discount. I finally joined again last week and I'm so happy about it, I will go much more than I did. It's relaxed it's clean, everything works, and the changing rooms are fine. Also the price to join has dropped. If you want lavish go somewhere posh if that's all you're bothered about. A gym is for getting fit and sweating everywhere is a part of that. I love it there.

Positive experience: Just finished my 10-day pass but due to being a bit far away could only use it a handful of times. Found it to be very good overall. Excellent reception staff. Can't speak for the gym stuff but looks pretty good from a distance. The pool is pretty decent only thing that is lacking is I do wish it was deeper than 1.25M. Steam Room and Sauna are nice and fairly roomy too. The "Jacuzzi" is a bit naff though as it's the same temp as the pool (uses the same water). Changing area is good, mostly open and a few stalls too (great for body image conscious plebs like me). Loads of closed showers and free complimentary shower gel dispensers and hair driers are a nice addition. Brilliant mechanical card locker system. Still if the price is right, and when I move closer to the area I will consider a membership. Thanks for the free pass. Hopefully see you again someday!

Negative experience: Called to see if I could buy a day pass, was told yes and it was £10. Arrived an hour later to be told that actually you can’t buy a day pass unless you are with a member and even then it’s £15.

Negative experience: Where to start. I’ve been going to this gym since 2005/6 on and off. I’ve recently returned believing the same great gym would be available but no. The problem is it’s the same gym- everything is dated and worn out. Even The showers have chrome coming off them. Then there’s the pool area. So they’ve closed all but one of the jacuzzis stating that cost of living but I really can’t see how a place that seems to have more members than ever with a higher membership cost than ever can’t run a couple of jacuzzis. They’ve got one running- that’s colder than the swimming pool so no one goes in it, instead everyone sits in the slow lane clogging it up. They have so many swimming clubs in the other lanes that it’s hard to get to the other end without waiting for someone. Oh and the tiles are falling off the pool and some tiles are cracked where you walk. It just took them forever to fix the sauna (which is nice and new now- finally). If you go first thing in the morning, the steam room and sauna aren’t hot. Which they should be, I’m paying to use those facilities, wether you’ve just opened or not is irrelevant. They should be good to go. When I enquired for membership joining costs for a friend they told me they couldn’t give me prices only management can do that… like why are your staff not told your own companies prices?? The one ok thing about the place is the Equiptment. However, the aircon isn’t cold enough and some of the machines are out of action for weeks. The only reason I stay is my location to the gym. If not I’d move. It’s disappointing for the money, it needs to be cheaper for what you get.

Fantastic experience: I'm reviewing in particular the adult swim classes at Nuffield. I signed up for one on one classes (8 sessions x 30 mins) and started as someone who was scared of the water and didn't think I could ever learn to swim. After the 8 sessions I could confidently swim doing front crawl. I signed up for another 8 sessions to learn breast stroke. I know the swim lessons have paid off as I went swimming in a deep lake in France and I could confidently go knowing my fret couldn't touch the bottom! My instructor was Rebecca and she is a great swim instructor! I would recommend their adult swim lessons if you are looking to learning swimming and have fear of water.

Fantastic experience: Two months since me and my wife joined Nuffield. We are normally going for couple hours to use gym and swimming pool (saunas are also great, we use them simetimes too). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Always nice to have experienced staff who can give advice. The gym is not too crowded and there is always space in the swimming pool - that's what we like the most. Changing rooms (and overall equipment) are kept very clean and well organised. I've been to many gyms in the past... Nuffield is 10/10.

Negative experience: Horrible after sales care. I joined the gym specifically for the spa and pool. They then decided to close down their two spa pools. I don’t use the weights or cardio section so I am now stuck paying for something I can’t use! I joined with a friend who WAS ABLE to cancel their membership for the exact same reason yet they refuse to cancel mine. Absolutely appalling.

Positive experience: Everything is always broken but rather than getting repaired it takes weeks because everything has to be authorised by head office. The Jacuzzis have been permanently shut down in the name of saving the planet and money, but guess what energy costs will be falling later this year, so will they be reviewing their decision? Most of the staff are very friendly but John who is the reception manager is terribly rude, he is not very professional in his approach to club members. All in all head office need to make some serious changes here before they loose more members.

Negative experience: If I could give this place zero stars I would. Where to begin? It’s dated, badly maintained, half the time water fountains are bust, or there’s no paper towels in the dispensers. Air conditioning in gym area is half working, nothing ever gets fixed, steam room is either hotter than the sun or like my living room in August (same with the sauna).Some gym machines are turned off to conserve power for green (oh yeah that old chestnut). Staff are mostly kids who look fed up that they’re working here and some of them are friendly and others are just aloof and don’t seem to give a toss unless you’re a young attractive lady….. people have said in reviews they have a good range of classes (but so what that’s fairly standard in a middle level tier gym). The cafe has been closed but the worst thing about this gym that everyone quite rightly moans about is they have permanently shut down the jacuzzis. For almost a year one or 2 was out of action now it’s (hey we’ve gone green) so we need to save scratch, but surprise surprise we will still charge you full membership fee of £63 a month which slowly creeps up over time. Nuffield constantly talk about safe spaces and catering to the disabled but it’s all lip service as they coerced my disabled girlfriend into signing up for an expensive training contact when she lacks capacity and refused to refund her. One of the managers John was extremely rude to both of us. If I could go elsewhere I would but due to my gfs illness the other gyms are too far from where we live.

Fantastic experience: Clean facilities. Friendly staff. Pool is either very busy or very quiet so check class times. Weight machines are in good order and clean.

Positive experience: So many people whinging in the reviews! I really like this gym and the highlight for me are the classes. Really wide range of classes available from spin to yoga to various dance classes. You book in the app and even if you have to join the waitlist you almost always get a spot. Staff across the gym are friendly and helpful. In my opinion the pool area is lovely, the sauna is excellent and the steam room is great - the temperature and humidity do go up and down so if you get a cool bit just go away for 10 mins! Two of the three jacuzzis have now shut down permanently - it does mean there's a bit of wasted space at the moment while they figure out what to do next. The gym area is well equipped. The changing rooms are huge. It's not perfect, which is why I'm saying 4* but the 1* reviews are really ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: I have been to Nuffield for a few years, I went to another gym in Norwich for 3 months and swiftly returned to Nuffield! You literally can't beat Nuffield Norwich. The managers Phil and John are excellent! All the staff are kind and helpful, especially Alex! I can not rate this gym higher!

Negative experience: Absolutely rip off all the facilities are out dated but they charge a fortune for them. Need to give a months notice even if your contract is up or they will send your details to debt collector ridiculous

Negative experience: Grossly overpriced - and the absolute filth of the jacuzzis and pool section cannot be overstated. I cancelled my membership straight after seeing thick green algae growing in the cold jacuzzi. Now what was I doing in the cold jacuzzi? it was the only one (out of 3) that wasn't out of service. The changing rooms are drab and outdated - and the main workout room is a windowless, beige purgatory. The only thing Nuffields Norwich does reaaaally well is producing 'out of service' signs.

Negative experience: This gym has gone very downhill and not worth nearly £60 a month. It is old and dated and had no investment for 10+ years First, they removed the cafe bistro area where one could eat a meal and coffee to save costs and instead turned into a staff area... They then replaced this with poor quality sandwiches from a fridge at the reception and overpriced instant coffee. Sandwiches tasted awful. They got rid of the small gym area for people who enjoyed working out in a smaller area and replaced it with all spin cycles. They increased their gym cost within 6 months. They don't stay open as late as cheaper gyms. Jacuzzis regularly break and do not work It's a rip off and hasn't been updated in years, the ceilings in the workout area look very old. The air conditioning is poor in Summer. It is not worth the price or being trapped in a 12 month contract. Join somewhere else.

Negative experience: Recently tried out this gym, unfortunately it’s extremely run down and dated. The changing rooms are rather large and still in fair condition, the keys for the lockers have now mostly lost any attachment which they previously had, some of the shower locks no longer work. The gym itself is a fair size the machine are quite moderns with tvs. The free weight area is limited though and not as many weight machines as some of the budget gyms in the area. Now the main reason people would use this gym. The pool area. This is what seriously let’s this down, the size is great and fairly large. Half the jacuzzis don’t work, are full of some sort of sand residue. The tiles are missing all over the place and leave some quite sharp edges. The sauna is alright although some of the wood was loose and fairly rough after a lot of use. The steam room barely produced any steam, was intermittent (and that’s being generous) and generally pretty cold. Overall not worth the money and in serious need of a lot of investment. Has a lot of potential to be really good but unfortunately seems like it hasn’t had any money spent on it in about 10 years at least.

Negative experience: The hot tubs and steam room is consistently faulty and never working. The random excuse for this is due to it being owned by a previous gym brand they can't get the parts to fix the issues? It's outdated and not worth the monthly fee by a long way, even if you are on a discounted rate (which I was). If you want the fully working leisure centre experience I suggest you go elsewhere. If you just want a gym with modern facilities then there's way better gyms with more modern facilities within Norwich. When I handed my months notice in I was told I had to pay for the following two months, even though my contract stated one month notice? I argued this an asked for then to refer to the wording in my contract and the reply I received was: "Thank you for your email, we have placed an early cancellation for you to end on the 01/06/2022 what is outside our Terms and conditions for cancellation." It's like they have assumed they are doing me a favour? If this happens to you I suggest you argue and refer to this point and your contractual wording.

Fantastic experience: I'm the funny chap here that can't be missed. Wears a super - pink hat and full face hat too ! With a super ' introductory ' member of staff who is especially friendly and welcoming { I do not re-call her name though she is rather petite } you will love this place if it is not too far from home. Good facilities are here too making it a much better alternative.

Fantastic experience: Nice clean gym and helpful staff, great to see the cleaners keeping the changing room smart and tidy unlike my old Nuffield, Good range of classes although for a while they had shortened some of them, seem to be back to the full class now, plenty of parking and great instructors.

Positive experience: 3/4 stars, been going here for a while and it used to be 5 stars however recently it seems staff/members have stopped caring, weights are all over the place and you always find yourself waiting for someone sitting on the machine that you want to be on that is texting for 5 minutes between sets, staff on the desk and cleaners are always friendly, depends what day you catch the management on.

Positive experience: Most of the members of staff are lovely and friendly (especially the staff on the desk) been here for about a year now and the gym always feels like a nice place to be! I was disappointed in the management system though as today I was approached by the manager in a rude way. What he was saying was a fair point but there are nicer ways of approaching people and I felt that considering I have been paying around £50 a month for a membership that the manager wouldn’t approach paying customers in such a rude way. Before approaching me I then saw this same manager be really rude to another member! In general this place is so nice so luckily I wasn’t put off by this member of staff as I’ve been here a long time however I think this needs to change as if I was a new member I probably would have been inclined to change gyms.

Positive experience: Good pool and nice spa facilities, the gym is well equipped and the whole place has a nice open atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful but the place is let down somewhat by minor maintenance issues, showers not being in the best repair, doors missing locks, etc. Overall the price is worth it if you go several times a week and you could do a lot worse when looking for a swimming gym.

Positive experience: Nice pool and spa let down by tired showers and almost constant absence of spin dryer. Reporting problem brings only "it's awaiting maintenance" response. Decent cafe on site and pleasant staff in all areas.

Fantastic experience: Got a free day trial pass and am loving it! Loads of gym equipment. Just stopped for a bite to eat in their cafe and the goats cheese and onion chutney panini is a must try, reasonably priced too. Haven't been in the pool yet but it's a decent size and has Jacuzzis. Let's hope it's nice and warm :D

Positive experience: The negatives with the gym as I see it. Maintenance of the site is slow, the showers need updating. Sauna policy isn't enforced. Cardio equipment not always online, making Technogym unusable. Lack of bistro, unless there is one that I don't know about. Not enough popular classes, and a 7am booking start time is not ideal for night workers. The landing regularly used for classes making transition from the weight to the cardio room awkward. Individual swim lessons taking up a whole lane, unless I'm paying for 1 to 1 coaching then I have to navigate other swimmers. On the positive side...

Positive experience: This could be such a really good health and fitness centre but it is spoilt by the reluctance of the management to fix things when they break. I have been a member for a couple of years and have been constantly frustrated by things not working. At the moment one of the Jacuzzis is out of action and has been for weeks. The sauna is stuck on full heat and the steam room is intermittently hot. There is no communication from management at all just "It's in hand" or "we will inform maintenance". It's a shame as the staff are friendly and with a bit of money spent on maintaining the facility it could be a so much better.

Negative experience: Have to add my voice to the others who found this gym dirty and over priced. I was also unimpressed with management - they need to be sent to customer service training urgently - management isn't about ego, it's about making the customer feel welcome and loyal - you don't feel that here. You feel disgusted and unwelcome, like a dirty motel run by mobsters imho.

Negative experience: Went here for a year and paid £51 per month for the pleasure. As other reviews have said, there is a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The equipment is usually dusty and the changing/shower rooms are quite grubby. On the plus side, for swimming in Norwich the pool is very quiet - so if you can afford to pay a premium and like lots of room it could be great for that. The management here is very good and dealt with an issue of guys cat-calling very quickly, which was nice this was taken seriously. If you want a "health club" then Nuffield may well be for you. If you just want a gym, you can get better value elsewhere in my opinion.

Negative experience: I am cancelling my membership. The facilities are poorly maintained and dirty. Swimming in the pool you can smell that foisty "I left a damp towel out for a week smell" - changing rooms are filthy, dusty and mouldy too. This is a vent from the shower room - where you're meant to get clean! Hasn't been touched in weeks. Disgusting.

Negative experience: This health club does have a few good features to it , for instance the classes are good and the physio department were helpful to me. But overall it is not good value for money. The gym equipment is average, and either the steam room or sauna is always out of action. The showers are poorly maintained eg; broken locks, leaking showers, no soap. They also raised the prices twice in the year I was a member and when I cancelled the membership even though I was out of contract they made me pay another month worth of fees. I would never join this gym again.

Fantastic experience: Since moving to Norwich I have been coming to Nuffield very regularly. I find all the staff very friendly & helpful, there is always equipment available in the gym I have never had to wait. The classes are fun & instructors willing to assist & keep a close eye on people not using the equipment properly. I always enjoy my time there.

Negative experience: In terms of the cafe, I was hugely disappointed. Disgusting cup of coffee. In one particular case having purchased a slice of cake, when probing into it I was shocked to to find it was rock solid and stale. On returning it I was told the cakes arrive frozen and are defrosted before being served - appaling. Furthermore staff were extremely noisy and abnoxious. Overall very poor.

Negative experience: visited this gym whilst on holiday. Nuffield member at another gym. Found the changing area very dated, ceiling absolutely filthy, with air con vents covered in dirt. Many of the showers would not turn off, or where not temperature adjustable. Steam room and sauna where fine. Very odd pool layout across the diagonal of the room. Do you really need three jacuzzi?

Positive experience: I enjoy swimming in the pool, and recently have received friendly help to use equipment in the gym recommended after having a back operation. One question. Is the management aware of the thousands of litres of water - heated water- that is pouring away each week through showers that one cannot turn off completely. There is a constant trickle or flow of water from at least 7 of the showers. Surely this is a waste of money and energy?
