Our Hertford gym shoulders both the town centre and the Foxholes Business Park. You can either park your car in our dedicated car park, or weâre just a five-minute walk from Hertford East train station. The nearby Caxton Hill bus stop is also ideally positioned to serve our customers.

Negative experience: This place is complete rubbish. Sauna has been closed for 6 weeks due to a rotten door frame and I've been told today that it should be fixed in the next few weeks. I've heard rumours that there could be a david loyds coming to hertford...I hope so! Nuffield Health will be closed down in no time as I have no doubt all members will jump ship. St Albans nuffield health charges the same money for membership but it's 10X better!
Negative experience: Poor customer service, poor communication from management especially and very tired facilities. They do have some good teachers for the classes but that’s about it. Not worth £88 a month
Fantastic experience: I was placed on the long covid rehabilitation program with Josh Dickens a PT who ran the in club program I found the gym/club itself really great . Staff are very friendly- even those at reception Josh made .my time at Nuffield enjoyable and fun , definitely a PT I'd highly recommend Thanks to Josh I'll be continuing my time at Nuffield health
Negative experience: I have been signed up for 2 months already and still have not received my welcome email. I have contacted numerous times and still no luck. I am unable to join classes as a result which is the main reason I joined this gym. Am at a loss of what to do as no phone call or email or personal visit to get this sorted has worked!
Fantastic experience: I have been a member for many years. Recently, after working away for 12 months, I rejoined. The team at Hertford Nuffield are ALL amazing. The reception team, cafe team and gym staff really are passionate, professional but friendly and approachable. You really couldn't ask for more. The classes are excellent and there is a cafe where you can relax and drink excellent coffee. Today I had a beauty therapy appointment with Darryl. She has many years experience in the sector having, previously worked on cruise ships as a beautician. Excellent service. The room was immaculate. Darryl was exceptionally professional and friendly and I was very, very impressed.

Fantastic experience: I've been looking for a nice gym to go to for a while and this is the perfect one to go too when I first walked in the staff was very welcoming especially Cameron . The place is extremely clean & if you ever wanted a personal trainer I would recommend josh or Harry as they have gone out thier way to help me

Fantastic experience: Been to a lot of gyms in my life and this is bar far the best, the people, the management the trainers, and can work after a workout and enjoy the cafe area, great place, worth every penny...
Negative experience: I was a member for a while but the facilities didn't live up to expectations especially considering the membership price and constant increases. The steam room was often out of order or dirty. Once I saw that someone had stuck their chewing gum on the walls in there. There was a hole in the ceiling above the showers for a while and the changing rooms felt quite unhygienic. The monthly fees suggest luxury but unfortunately it is far from that. Parking is a nightmare. The gym upstairs has black mold on the walls by the cross training machines. I did like however that when I was swimming in the evenings, the pool was quite empty. The staff are also really helpful and friendly.
Positive experience: Great place but a let down for swimmers as they seem to pack in every day with family swims and kids lessons to earn. More. This wasn’t the case years ago. You end up having one slim lane between loads of people. Thats exactly why i chose a club gym over a council run one. For good pool access. Everything else is fine but its just too much. Only quiet times are way before work and way after.
Negative experience: I had a free pass for 7 days, was super excited as i have visited the Nuffield in Abridge. I am a member of a budget gym and was considering upping my £20 a month fee for something more. I turned up and the staff wasn't very welcoming, was expecting a hard sell or even a quick show around to show me where everything was. None of any of that! Swimming pool looked like it was subbed out to swimming lessons leaving a tiny lane for members to swim in. Went upstairs and was in actual shock at how small and dirty the gym was. The lack of equipment was appalling, how they warrant charging over £80 per month I will never know. Hats off for how they managed to get any members at all for that price! I wouldn't actually go again if they paid me £80 a month.
Positive experience: The parking is out of control, massive 4x4s lumped all over the curbs and in disabled spaces. The gym is nice however and staff are lovely, if the changing rooms and showers were updated it'd go a long way.
Negative experience: I would avoid signing up to this gym. Not worth it - feels basic. Doesn't feel clean.
Negative experience: Complete lack of any proper investment for several years now, cardio equipment is outdated and shabby, breaks down often, and it generally takes between a month or two (or more) to get anything fixed. Shower areas particularly grubby. Must be the worst, and most expensive, gym in Hertford.
Negative experience: Offers good facilities but is now incredibly tired with large swathes of various equipment often out of order.
Positive experience: Changing rooms really need an upgrade. Every shower broken. When you visit in the evening especially bins are overflowing and needs a good clean by that point. Air con units covered in dust etc. Wouldn't become full time member because of this. Pool is actually ok but it doesn't have the feel of premium price gym.
Negative experience: Took them almost 5 weeks to get back to me regarding a cleaning job I'd applied for in Hertford. Those seeking work - AVOID.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym for a year. Everyone is very friendly, the gym is very spacious and offers a lot of various equipment. Georgina has been my personal trainer for almost a year now and training with her is incredible. I have had personal training many times before in my life, but never have I felt so comfortable, safe, and none of my previous personal trainers have been even close to how friendly, professional and thoughtful Georgina is. I would recommend both the gym and Georgina as a personal trainer.
Negative experience: Terrible pool/spa the steam room had no steam and smelled like urine, the pool was tiny and full and the sauna was a tiny room also full up. Old out dated in 2023 they have a lot of work to do to catch up with other gyms
Positive experience: A nice gym; however there seems to be an increase in young kids 13-16 attending and messing around a lot. Also should implement a ban of phones when using machines as quite often find yourself waiting 10 minutes to use a machine where someone is just sitting on it using their phone and not actually exercising.
Positive experience: This centre has great cardio, sauna and pool facilities. The staff and trainers are super friendly and there is a really nice atmosphere here. However the gym side is of sub-standard quality. This Nuffield seems extremely undeveloped and underfunded when compared to other nearby centres. The equipment is quite old and very limited. The gym is quite small on space and therefore basic. It can be a pain to train here when busy. The centre is great for overall “fitness” however I’d expect a little more considering the prices and when comparing to other Nuffield centres (let alone other gyms in the area).
Fantastic experience: Great customer service very helpful and an amazing gym with very clean facilities especially showers. Very covid friendly. Lisa duty manager was very helpful.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and friendly staff, clean and spacious changing rooms, excellent pool, sauna and steam room. Really helps having allocated afternoon family swim sessions. The gym is laid out well with good equipment and plenty of workout machines. There’s also a nice cafe and area to relax after a session. I really like Hertford NH being set up for families with young children and my membership allows me to use other Nuffield Health gyms. Not quite sure about the negative reviews. Staff are really nice and child friendly.
Negative experience: Awful account management. Other half has now been charged for four months he never used, despite giving notice he wanted his membership frozen indefinitely at the start of lockdown as he wasn't sure if/when he would return - three payments were taken at the start of lockdown (one refunded), and two taken recently (Nuffield will refund neither recent payment). I understand Nuffield is entitled to one payment which covers the 30 days notice of cancellation, but to take four payments is robbery.
Negative experience: Avoid, avoid, avoid. Awful place. Unprofessional vibes, poor communication and terrible customer service. Swimming lessons shockingly bad - avoid if you have a young child that you want to develop water confidence.
Positive experience: Great team , very knowledgeable. Clean and covid aware . Looking slightly dated now but everything you need . Pleasent atmosphere feels safe for all genders . Not so good point.......lockers are kept by people and not surrendered at end of workout leaving shortages at busy periods. Should be banned and emptied by staff on a regular basis. This is not happening .
Fantastic experience: Love coming here, fab instructors and a wide range of classes as well as the gym, pool and steam room and always clean.
Positive experience: Good size gym with good facilities. It has everything you need. Nice to have the pool sauna and steam room available. It also has power plates which I was unavailable to find in other local gyms. The car park is a little small so hard to find a space at times but the bigger car park at the retail area next door helps solve this.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for 5 years+ and highly recommend. The classes are excellent and the staff brilliant.
Negative experience: I had a free pass for the day, the facilities are nice however I arrived at 10.30am and the machines were very dirty, it looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a week judging by the amount of dust there was on them, also people don't seem to clean after themselves so the machine I wanted to go on was sticky and disgusting. I decided not to use the gym and tried the swimming pool, on the floor you could see a lot of things that didn't belong to a swimming pool, paper, elastic bands, etc. The sauna and steam room were quite pleasant. The cleanliness again in the ladies changing room/ showers was very average. It is a real shame as the gym and the facilities look really good but the cleanliness is really a put off. I was potentially thinking about becoming a member but it's a definite no and I wouldn't recommend unless you get your gym cleaned!
Negative experience: We were told that the kids were not allowed in the pool after the kids got in the pool. The children were devastated. The staff knew full well we were going in the pool so why did they let us in, just to tell us to leave?
Positive experience: Decent enough gym although the equipment could do with updating. The parking is terrible; really truly awful. People constantly park in disabled bays and when asked about this the staff just shrug their shoulders.
Negative experience: So glad I joined David Lloyd far better
Fantastic experience: A good gym, I pay £60 a month and get to attend as many classes as I want. They aren't just classes run by a school soccer mom they are well planned and brilliant alternative to just the usual weight pushing. The trainers are very friendly. The only issue I would have and this is because nothing in life is perfect is that I hate how people who are not disabled park in the disabled bays. Also the cleaning staff need to attend to the male locker rooms more often. Other than that a brilliant well equipped gym and for the price I would say that you wouldn't find better than this.

Fantastic experience: Recently moved to the Nuffield in Hertford, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough, the gym is very well equipped and the staff are professional and friendly. I would go as far as to say its the best gym I have been too.

Negative experience: Been coming here for five years now and unfortunately the quality has dropped over this period. Constant issues with the boiler and air con, very few of a new equipment, cancelled sky sports... Hoping for an improvement

Fantastic experience: Don't know what your talking about, 'unfriendly staff' they've all be fabulous, there's a lady there called Lois who is a diamond. I wish I could name all the staff but only been a member now for about 3 weeks. They've just had all new spinning bikes delivered, the gyms nice, always clean and not full of 'meat-heads' Sauna could do with being hotter or allowing users the chance of chucking water on the coals but the steam room,,, phew it's hot. I'm going in to use now, so will be on the look out for nasty staff..LOL
Negative experience: The staff is not friendly, they are very disrespectful. tried to speak to the manager and explain him that they don't have certain facilities for disabled people nor for families with babies and his answer was 'We won't change anything,maybe this isn't the right gym for you'.I was disgusted. As soon as you sign the contract they treat you like dirt. Some of my friends who wanted to become members here chose David Lloyd. Avoid avoid avoid!
Negative experience: Horrible staff and management.They treat children like they are little weird creatures.Only low lifes do that. The sauna is dirty,the swimming pool has slippery floor.Like someone said :tight parking tight budget.
