Anytime Fitness Sheffield (Central)

Positive experience: Been coming here for 2 years but it’s got so bad for other members not putting weights away. You end up doing a workout to move all the weights that other members have left on the machines before you can do your exercise. Just needs managing properly. If the PTs walked round reminding people when they left weights on then others would see this happening and put their weights away. Wouldn’t take long to fix!

Positive experience: Pretty good for equipment, quiet outside of peak times, decent shower/changing rooms, friendly staff. However, it was closed by the landlord with a Take Notice on 29/06/2024, and has been closed for eat least 2-3 weeks now. The website link opens a 404 not found page. No email/comms on when it will be open. Unsure if there will be any compensation.

Negative experience: Be very wary when wanting to leave this club, you will continue getting charges and then get your account sent to a debt collector. After a long relationship with AF in Australia I strongly regret having anything to do with this branch and advise any potential clients to stay away. It’s a shame, as I was previously a strong advocate for the brand… now I’m unlikely to ever be a member again.

Negative experience: One star because it’s a clean gym but unprofessional with the customer's services specifically (Owen Hao) because they will never cancel your membership and they did my contract for 6 months even I didn't say that to them, Safe your money with another gym. New update -7th of August, they are ignoring my emails to cancel my membership from the 7th of June, I noticed that I would to cancel it, and the unprofessional manager (Owen Hao) keeps ignoring emails.

Fantastic experience: This is easily the cleanest gym I have ever set foot in. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Its never too busy and there is always equipment available to use. Membership is more expensive than other local competitors, but it's well worth the extra cost. Shout out to Horace, hes a top guy and made me feel welcome from the moment I joined.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the club in Sheffield for about 6 months now and I’m still thoroughly enjoying it. The Les Mills classes are well suited to my goals and the level of the personal trainers are really really the key to my progress. The club is clean, well maintained and well resourced.

Fantastic experience: Really pleased with our new membership at Anytime Fitness. The changing rooms are clean, the greeting as you walk in is very very pleasant, great music all the time and I’m feeling at home after just a week. Very happy with my membership.

Negative experience: One star for poor customer service. Unhelpful staff and rigid rules. They only care about money.

Negative experience: Owen Hao is an irresponsible manager of the gym who does not cancel membership on time as requested, then imposes extra charges without reason to customers who opt to leave. He was hostile, aggressive, impolite and greedy. Do not pay for membership at this gym, because you will never get out in fair terms!!!

Negative experience: i wish i can review 0 if i can. they ignore your email and text for cancellation and kept rolling your bill. after you signed 3 month fixed contract, they mistakenly made it 6 months. the manager owen hao, ignoring all your emails for legal request, and they will not email you the contact after you signed. not inform you how to cancel the membership, which is breaking the consumer act 2013. basically, you cannot received any customer service at all. and the manager refused to provide you the complaint email and legal department email address. run!!!!!!! never never never join this gym for your own sake

Positive experience: I use this gym when staying with family in Sheffield since my membership allows access to any Anytime Gym. It’s centrally located (downside is payable on street parking) and has a good selection of equipment. Some of the resistance machines have too large an increment between the weight levels to make gradual progression easier. It is kept in spotless condition by the friendly staff who seem to be continuously cleaning the place. It’s never too busy and never have to wait for equipment to become free.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for nearly a year now. The monthly fee might be higher than nearby alternatives but for the little bit more money it is so worth it. I have been to other gyms in Sheffield and the cleanliness and number of people in the gym is no match to anytime fitness sheffield. It is ridiculous how clean the gym is kept, the airflow and the odour around the gym and changing rooms.

Negative experience: They do not give deposit back when your membership finishes.

Negative experience: They made a mistake and locked my key for a week. I asked for an equal extension to my membership. They didn't reply to this request. The funniest thing was: the staff can't unlock my key. In order to unlock my key, I have to replied to the email that told me my key was locked.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, really clean and while not the cheapest gym in the area, it’s definitely worth the membership fee. I was a member of another facility in the city which closed unexpectedly a few years ago and am glad I paid the extra to join. Convenient location and open 24 hours.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of Anytime Fitness Sheffield since 2017. If you are looking for a great gym close to the city centre then I can't recommend it enough. The gym has a great selection of equipment: covering free weights, weight machines, racks, cardio machines & bodyweight equipment. Plus a class/studio area too. The staff are always very friendly and the whole gym and change facilities are kept in immaculate condition. I typically train either at lunchtime during the week or sometimes early in the morning and I've never found it to be too busy or overcrowded (unlike other gym's I've seen nearby).

Negative experience: Nice gym with great facility. Zero stars for the lack of professionalism and communication of the staff. I have requsted the team to have my cancel my account by all means and they seem to do the impossible to avoid doing so. Last time i have been in the UK was March of 2020 and i am until today having a monthly payment deducted.

It is extremely difficult to cancel membership online, the company asked me to reactivate the direct debit to cancel membership or I will accrue arrears, RIDICULOUS, I do not recommend such a company playing nasty and setting high barriers for members to quit.

Positive experience: It's an decent gym with some OK facilitates basic and cheerful is the best description. There are plenty of equipment so waiting is not a problem, although sometimes it lacks things like a step-up board to use the rack. Overall good and a handy location.

Fantastic experience: It’s probably not the cheapest gym in the area, but you never really have to wait to use any of the equipments. IT HAS TWO SQUAT RACKS!!! The facilities are top notch, the staffs are super friendly, and the members are from different ethnicity, and are all there to help each other out, which creates cultural diversity and community cohesion. Best part? When you sign up here you get to use the other Anytime Fitness clubs, which are all never TOO BUSY

Positive experience: Been here once during an overseas trip. Staff were friendly and the gym was rather big. They have 2 power racks but no deadlift platform. Wide variety of machines. Cardio/activity room is huge.

Negative experience: Worst gym staff Iv ever come across. The general manager and owner have no idea how to treat people. Gym is just a joke and would no suggest this gym to anyone ever. They treat people is the worst possible way. All the want to do is take you money and do not care about you as a person. Once they have your money and your 12 month contract they don't care. If anyone is thinking about joining this gym I suggest you think again when there is plenty more gyms around the area with much hetter customer service skills
