Negative experience: If you want a clean gym that has good quality equipment. Do NOT come here. You will be very dissapointed.

Negative experience: perfect if you like: dirty environments with old poorly maintained equipment. youngesters running around the gym areas without supervision and staff oblivious to the mayhem and grime. Groups of taxi drivers congregating in corners and just watching. No time to discuss the pool and changing rooms but it's only a matter of time before the lack of care leads to a serious incident.

Negative experience: Dirty, filthy, broken, neglected. This club clearly has no investment into upkeep of the facilities. Everything is falling apart. They’re clearly intent on running the place into the ground, or when it will be forced to shut due to health reasons. Cheap shouldn’t mean nasty. The Gym Group have proven that.

Positive experience: Great swim & steam room very quite. Shower rooms could do with a good clean had spit on inside of my one had to move to pther, need to be cleaned after every use. Other then that good.

Positive experience: I really like this gym staff are always helpful and friendly in particular Paul and Julie great selection of cardio machines free weights and has a swimming pool steam and sauna room what more can you ask for

Negative experience: The staff in the club are nice, in fact I feel sorry for them working for such a terrible company. The head office and membership services don't respond to emails and you can't get through on the phone - I waited for an hour in the queue on the phone until i had to give up (this was the third time of waiting pointlessly) and go into the club to pay off my notice period in cash - I cancelled my direct debit with them when, after writing to say that they wouldn't take any money out of my account during the lockdown when membership was frozen, they proceeded to randomly take money out one month - probably in the hope that it wouldn't be noticed, they did the same to my partner. I got the direct debit back through the direct debit indemnity thankfully and decided to cancel it as they had lost my trust through their fraudulent behaviour. They provide no way to make electronic payments online like most companies do and are overall the worst company for customer service I have ever had to deal with. Avoid.

Positive experience: Nice clean amd tidy space. Plenty of equipment and lovely warm swimming pool. Staff are helpful but did not offer an induction. I've been to gyms before but, if you are new-new ask someone to show you around

Positive experience: It is a nice gym but it is a pity that some of the youngsters who frequent it dont have a filter. They are brain dead. I have no problems with the managment who are quite helpful. Maybe there should be a notice up reminding the younger members to respect people.

Negative experience: Tested out the gym to see if it would persuade me to transfer from another gym. It did not. The whole space feels very office like and odd, small corridors to get to different rooms made it seem a weird set up. Equipment is limited and from what I could see no members at the time I was there were taking care of the environment. Weights and plates everywhere with noone tidying up after themselves. I wouldn't return and would rather drive an extra 8 miles to my regular gym than go here. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for...

Positive experience: Good value gym. Some friendly staff. Most of the equipment is pretty decent. Pool, sauna, steam room, weights, machines, cardio equipment. Building needs some TLC, staff don't always greet you upon your arrival. Lots of students, some of which have poor gym etiquette.

Positive experience: Nice place for who want to be active .has almost everything gym .new type machines and very big many options .steam room sauna.smimming pool restaurant and refresh drinks .a lot off classes if u want to be fit spinning classes .yoga classes .bump body .dance and burning fat .a lot of personal trainer. And even wellbeing. Nails Massage. And stuff is very friendly. Some important foods .clothes that may need..lovely place in good price.

Negative experience: If you want waste your money join this gym

Positive experience: I do like this gym, it's very reasonable in price and the location is perfect. Areas for improvement are definitely the decor! Leaky roof and I cut myself on a bit of glass sticking on the window of the door, the whole place needs some TLC. The staff are friendly although in the unmanned weights rooms you could do with some monitoring as there are often groups of teens/yoofs hanging around messing about and not working out, I've had to mention it a few times mainly through fear someone might get hurt with them messing with equipment

Negative experience: Good facilities on paper for the cost of membership, but most equipment is old and building is rundown. They tried to cram in too much equipment so often you can use on machine if the one next to it is being used. Until recently the air conditioning didn't work so it was boiling hot in summer and freezing cold in winter.

Positive experience: Has weight machines, a pool does classes. For the price it's a fairly good gym. Wouldn't recommend if you're working 9 5 as not much equipment at spare times...

Negative experience: Tired, run down and dirty. Cold swimming pool. Accessibility difficult as small car park and restricted resident parking in the local area. Cancellation is not transparent. Advertised 30 day notice period which is absolute nonsense as it’s 30 days end of following calendar month so if you cancel on 2nd of the month you may until the end of the following month not 30 days at all, then they add ridiculous admin fees. When asked for these to be waived as we’d given 30 days notice the woman refused and suggested she would take my daughter to court and as she had just turned 18 it would have an adverse effect on her credit rating. No wonder Mike Ashley is a billionaire as his staff intimidate, threaten and bully teenagers. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Fantastic experience: My son and I joined the club today, the two girls on reception were so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable an asset to the company. The Gyms equipment is really good, there are great facilities, lots of classes and the sauna, pool and steam room were excellent. We loved it and such a great price.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym and the prices are quite low. The equipment is very good and there is lots of space and a separate room downstairs for small weights and yoga etc.

Negative experience: Cheap fitness facility. Very poor quality of equipment, much of which is broken and not working. The male changing area is disgusting, smelling of urine. Showers are very dirty and poorly maintained. The whole place is run down, it has a worn feel and very poorly maintained (it's fitness direct, after all). Sometimes the behaviour and language of fellow members is pretty unpleasant and I'd certainly not recommend it to anyone who is considering joining to have a pleasant family experience!... But, it does have a small pool, which distinguishes it from the other gyms in the area. Only problem is that often this is used in an inconsiderate manner by others. Altogether - cheap, yes, pool, yes.... but a nasty grimy place, and one in which you will not want to linger.

Negative experience: The only good point there is the little space/coffee in the entrance. The gym is extremely warm, not windows or air conditioning. Also, is a messy because there weights and accessories scattered on all sides without organization. The machines are old. The price is similar with other gyms but better level. Hopefully I did monthly contract. I don’t recommend honestly :)

Positive experience: Current: The gym has gone under renovation during COVID-19 and has improved its environment. The joining fee is still a pain along with the month in advance cancellation or get charged fees. Previous review: I’d like to give this star to, not just the worst gym in Brighton but the worst gym in England. Great achievement. Save your selves and go elsewhere, it’s cheap but terrible. Policies are crooked, if you’re planning to leave- you have to pay a month in advance as well. Swimming pool is about 70% chlorine, 30% sweat. You’d be lucky if anything actually works. Good luck lool

Negative experience: This gym doesn't gave any bit of professionality in his management Me and my mom gave them a notice before 1 month(1st of July) that we both wanna cancel then onnthe 6th of August we both went there and cancelled After a month, in the first of September the took out money from my mom's account £38 and now they refuse to give the money back Such a distugsting gym

Negative experience: Absolute terrible gym, it shouldn’t even be called a gym when almost all equipment is breaking or broken. What exercise can you exactly do with broken equipment? Bloody nothing. It’s always jam packed with people every hour till closing, it has more members than the place can hold. The dumbbells aren’t even cleared and sorted once the gym closes so I’ll have to look for the weights around the gym or use a heavier or lighter weight which is just stupid because I have not adapted to the heavier ones. Guess how many times I’ve been to this gym this month, yes 3 times!! That’s because I have joined Pure Gym a much better, cleaner and modern gym. They also try and get more money out of you by charging for the next month once you cancel your membership. This place needs to be shut down, should have health and safety inspector see the state. Would actually rate this gym a solid -10/10

Negative experience: If I could have given this place no star rating I would have done!!! It's a Health and safety hazard.. I have been injured by their equipment on 3 separate occasions!!! When I got thrown off the treadmill that was the last straw!! They did an accident report and I was chasing them for over 2 months whilst they were investigating!!!!! No one bothered to check if I was okay in that time!!! Of course they accepted no responsibility in the end!! I was so upset by this I told them I was considering cancelling my membership.. they then had the bloody cheek to send me an e mail to tell me that they would cancel it for me as a good will gesture without having to pay early cancellation fee !!!!! I was fuming but to be honest they did me the best favour by doing exactly that!!! I am now at Change gym and could not be happier!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THERE YOU ARE WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN A CHEAP MEMBERSHIP!!

Negative experience: Cramped, over-filled, broken and tired machines. This gym is one of those 'last resort' places you go when every other gym nearby is either too costly or not close enough. At peak hours you can expect to find yourself weaving in and out of people, stepping over barbells and plate weights, dodging through people to get to the equipment you want, only to find it's being hogged by a group of fashion-first teenagers, equipped with their gym-jeans and dench snapbacks, who are just there to show face. That's if you make it there at all, this gym is so hot you might need to step out into the fresh air for a breather before diving back into its pits. I have no problem with new comers to the gym. Everyone needs to start somewhere and I have major respect for those who have plucked up the courage to do so. However, it would seem that many are not giving any sort of induction. The amount of people I see doing things wrong borders on concerning. I'm not talking about poor form here, i'm talking about using machines backwards and dangerously. It's painful just to watch. I was at this gym for around 6-7 months and I found broken items on day 1 were still broken when I finally left. Owing, I assume, to the lack of ventilation and screwed shut windows, this gym absolutely stinks. It's a nostril-scrunching mixture of stale sweat, cleaning chemicals, stinky feet and old plastics. The smell is particularly potent in the downstairs areas where the free weights and floor-room are. For better options, you can try CHANGE on Portland Road and/or Underground Gym. I have been to both and they are leagues ahead in terms of equipment quality and space. On the bright side, I met some nice people. Then again, you couldn't really help meeting people when you're like sardines.

Positive experience: The gym looks very tired and outdated. Dosent look very clean as well.

Negative experience: When the hell are they going to fix the treadmills, 6 of them are our at the moment. There is also a cross trainer down and one of the leg machines is out. But the treadmills have been out for soooo long. Also the air con is never on, but I think it’s broken. Don’t see them fixing it any time soon tho. They do need to fix the equipment though as everyone pays to use it and with it being down for so long is incredible cheeky.

Negative experience: Cheap, and it shows. Membership is £25 per month inc classes which is very good value, but the common areas are not well maintained, much of the equipment is very old, two (of the 12 or so) treadmills haven't worked for months, the air conditioning is broken (and has been for nearly a year - and it's coming up to summer so it's starting to get smelly and unpleasant), exit gate is now broken, water fountain only works occasionally and most of the staff really can't be bothered - they certainly don't want to know about any issues and some are dismissive to the point of rudeness. Needs a big overhaul both in terms of the building/equipment and the staff that work there.

Shortly just left, because I had felt uncomfortable. Always so busy and cannot get things done. If you are looking to join a gym, do go for something else.

Negative experience: The swimming pool and the changing area is dirty. Hair in the pool and on the floor of the changing room. Really needs a good clean and disinfectant. The jacuzzi doesn't work. Hasn't been working for ages and is used as the pools filter. This needs to either be fixed or removed . The steam room hasn't been working for weeks, when I asked about this I was told that they are waiting for a part and it's a tricky job! The gym equipment is ok and the spin classes that I have attended are very good. If you like classes then it is worth the money but not if you are looking for a sauna/steam and swim. This is shabby and needs a really good clean and make over.

Negative experience: The water fountain was broken for a long time and as far as I can tell they will never fix the Jacuzzi. The Sauna and Steam room were often out of order and the steam room was often tepid. It is quite small so what ever time of day I went I was always waiting to go on equipment. Also to any women considering going alone there were often large groups of men congregated at the side of the pool and I had a few instances of them talking inappropriately to my friends and myself. This is not the fault of the gym but I feel it is something to be aware of if you are thinking of purchasing a membership.

Positive experience: Lovely place, with lovely staff, huge bonus the sauna! I miss the stepper and starmaster machines as those are my favs. One thing really bothers me that people don't put the weights or any other equipment back where they belong, sadly couple of your personal trainers leave them too. Oh and would be nice to replace the water tank finally.
