Positive experience: Toilets should have automatic closing doors. It's so stinky in that area. Absolutely disgusting ..? Please fit door closer on all the doors.

Negative experience: AVOID AVOID AVOID Get you in for a free trial and get you to sign the contract ASAP. The contract clearly states you can cancel within the 14 days 'cooling period' before you're locked in for 12 months. I have tried to cancel, been refused and they have now stopped replying to me all together. Chris refuses to help, the service is absolutely terrible. So many cheaper and nicer gym alternatives in Shrewsbury

Fantastic experience: Amazing place to work out, friendly gym, awesome team.

Positive experience: Good quality gym. Nice location with lots of windows looking outside. Good variety of machines and weights for working all muscle groups as well as a variety of machines for cardio. Staff are very helpful and friendly. They offer free classes to their members throughout the week and gave me a free induction with a personal trainer to show me round the gym and explain how to use the machines and weights. (It also has air conditioning which is a must for the summer) Overall a very good gym with great facilities, only reason its not 5 stars is due to the price being higher than most other gyms around, however as a student the student prices become more reasonable when doing a student pre-paid plan (worked out to about £25 a month)

Fantastic experience: I've been using Anytime fitness for a couple of years and is perfect for my routine and lifestyle. Always amazes me at who else works out at 5am haha. Good range of stuff to get a solid workout in from, can get busier in the evenings.

Negative experience: Facilities were alright but when I wanted to cancel a while ago, I could not, after the staff member who signed me up assured me that I could cancel the membership at any point. Cheers for taking my money.

Negative experience: I visited there last year,one of the guy tramped me to join soon as possible,feel very embarrassed me also he took my card details even he promised me not to setup direct debit.i didn't feel comfortable to join there.this is not end of the story.they took of money from my card and I did contact to them but one of the lady said that was mistake she gonna cancel it now. After few months direct debit being setup again and again. Finally I contact them they never apologize, promised me it being cancelled from now.

Negative experience: Stole from me, I joined just before covid lock down and cancelled my membership because the lock down meant I’d be paying for nothing but still they continued the direct debit from my account, I was meant to get a company discount as a perk for the company I work for, the amounts they charged me changed every month, every time I called to cancel they said I couldn’t then said I could then couldn’t then some cheeky French guy told me I need to exercise finally manager Chris agreed refund and cancelled everything so I was happy with that, but then I never received my money back, every time I call I get oh there’s no one here that can authorise it email this email and no one ever replies, I’ve even been back in to the building to try speak to someone and still got no where. They owe me over £150, it’s been over a year now so I’m assuming it’s just not coming back to me which is actually theft because the money should have never been coming out of my account once id said id like to cancel! DO NOT JOIN HERE. The place is a shambles.

Negative experience: Good equipment and opportunities but I am so very disgusted with the financial management. I would have left five stars if I hadn’t experienced the trouble I have with ending my subscription. Many calls and correspondences have been made, over a span of five months, to end my membership and each time I get told that the gym will terminate my membership and no further payments will go out. Alas, £120 have since gone out of my bank despite our agreements to stop the payments. As someone who cannot use the gym at this time, I’ve regarded it as a complete lack of customer care. Very friendly and helpful on phone but actions do not reflect this! Very, very unhappy customer.

Negative experience: Anytime Fitness is one of the worst and poorly run businesses in Shrewsbury! Everyone I know who has been to Anytime say the exact same thing If you do sign up, expect this... - when you ask about the cancellation process at sign up, Chris (the manager) tells you, you can cancel anytime by direct debit - you get automated texts and emails practically everyday for months telling you to reinstate your membership or face arrears - but then proceed to charge your card 3 - months down the line the money "you owe" - they never reply to emails when you want to complain about these things - they charge you £30 for a fob but then if you say you cant afford it, they give you it for free anyway - due to the lockdowns and freezing everyone's accounts initially, they decided they would continue to charge people's accounts to keep their business running. When restrictions were reduced they emailed everyone a "good will gesture" a reduced monthly fee for the next 6 months for people who had been paying the full amount during lockdown. But to get the reduction, you had to apply for it by a certain date. And when you do send an email before the date, the membership still isn't reduced. It makes you wonder why they didn't do it automatically for everyone... They know full well many people don't check their emails and will miss out. I only found out from my mate and my email was in the junk folder. Great company values there! - facilities are not properly maintained and are dirty. E.g. Hand sanitizer is just water. This was highly irresponsible during the height of infections at the time All that they care about (Chris) is tying you down to a contract and will say anything to get you to do so. Do not use! If you want a gym in town, go Bodytech instead

Negative experience: Toilets have unfortunately been left for dead... - Cold Tap in middle toilet not working - Cold tap pressure in end toilet explosive - So many light bulbs out in all toilets especially in the shower areas - Drains absolutely stink, especially the disabled toilet, just go and see yourself, think that's a toilet issue separately These are simple fix problems which if not fixed, myself and I am sure many others will no longer want to go to your gym. I go everyday to the gym, so I ask nicely for them to be fixed asap please so that I can enjoy the gym to its full potential for the money I am paying

Negative experience: Was a member ever since the gym opened and used to love going their through college. It’s never been the best gym in Shrewsbury, its small and there isn’t loads of equipment but it had friendly staff and an overall good atmosphere. However, over the past year it’s really deteriorated. It is so dirty, which is astounding given that we are in a pandemic. Hair matted all over the floor and equipment, leaks in the toilets, broken or faulty taps etc. But the real reason I left was the membership payments. Unlike many other gyms they carried on taking payments throughout lockdown, talking about paying in ‘good faith’ and ‘supporting the gym’. Then, when it came to after lockdown, they payed you this balance back by discounting your payments. However, they really took the mic by giving you £3 off a month, meaning it would be over two years before my balance was repaid. And as other reviews say, the communication is terrible, I sent so many emails and rarely got a reply, it really is shocking that they think this is acceptable behaviour. I think somewhere down the line they lost sight of what they had- a good atmosphere and happy regulars, replaced with focusing on upping memberships and how the gym was performing financially. The location and town centre parking is good but make no mistake there are many better gyms in Shrewsbury than anytime.

Negative experience: 3rd email sent about cancelling my membership this morning. It shouldn't take three emails (over the space of two months) to get a response when you need to cancel a rolling monthly membership. Tried numerous times to contact via phone, but obviously there is nobody at the club. Won't be joining again.

Positive experience: Easy, convenient, good value, friendly staff, good facilities

Negative experience: Not covid secure. staff are refilling bottles of detol with water when they run low instead of buying more. When you go to the gym and see your regular bartender working out, and using water to disinfect their workout space, it doesnt take much imagination to see how it could cause a serious outbreak in town without any difficulty.

Positive experience: Love Natalie's classes. She is so bubbly and encouraging to all participants. Even when she isn't taking a class, she always finds time to chat and check in with you. Gym is clean n tidy. Pretty good with wipe down spray and roll availability.

Negative experience: Music is awful....constantly playing chilled out pop music, there is no motivation to be found in this gym, everyone looks lethargic and there is no real competition to keep you motivated. The place is very dirty, keep finding toe or fingernails on the floor and a week later they are still there! Only 3 toilets available (1 disabled) and these always have a queues because the showers are in the same room! Only ok thing about this gym and the reason I still go here is the weights, that been said the lates are an awful funny shape!

Fantastic experience: Good gym with all the equipment needed. It can get busy at peak times, but so can any gym... If you ever have an issue the staff are always on hand and really helpful. Also, virtual system in the studio really good if you want to do a led class on your own. Looking forward to the new Les Mills classes too!

Fantastic experience: Hats off to allen, holly, and drew for making my week in shrewsbury so great. Easy to get started with the membership, easy to use, and the gym has a wealth of resources for members to get fit, including discounts at local businesses. Surprisingly spacious for its location. I do wish there were a stair master and a roman chair here, and there seem to be some members who could use a refresher course on putting trash into bins instead of scattering it all over the floor, but overall this is a great gym with solid equipment and staff who are eager to help you achieve your goals!
