Our comment from FitFit UK about Queen Mother Sports Centre:

The Queen Mother Sports Centre in London, United Kingdom, is recognized as a community hub that offers a variety of sports facilities including a large swimming pool, gym, and badminton courts. Despite facing some criticisms regarding cleanliness and management, many users appreciate the availability of diverse activities and the friendly atmosphere provided by certain staff members.

Highlights:

  • Spacious facilities for a range of sports activities such as swimming, badminton, and gym sessions.
  • Competitive pricing for memberships and daily access, catering well to the local community.
  • Friendly and enthusiastic fitness instructors and personal trainers.
  • Well-equipped classes including LesMills and Zumba, with a welcoming vibe for fitness enthusiasts of all levels.
  • Convenient location in central London, making it easily accessible for nearby residents and workers.

Areas for Improvement:

  • Consistent complaints regarding the cleanliness of changing rooms and gym equipment, with many users highlighting issues of dirt and improper maintenance.
  • Customer service experiences appear to vary, with some members reporting unresponsive staff and difficulties in booking sessions.
  • The facility has been described as overcrowded during peak times, which can detract from the overall experience.
  • Issues with the booking system and communication, leading to confusion around class availability and facility use.

In summary, while the Queen Mother Sports Centre has significant potential with its excellent location and range of facilities, attention to cleanliness, customer service, and overall management can greatly enhance the experience for all users.

Queen Mother Sports Centre: Opinions

2.7/5 (200 Opinions)

Negative experience: Not Impressed with Queens I decided to give swimming a shot and picked Queens Sport Center because it was the cheapest place around. Big mistake. As soon as I walked in, there was a really awful smell coming from the pool. The changing rooms were a mess with litter everywhere, and the floors were covered in some gross brown liquid—definitely not what I expected. The staff looked like they didn’t want to be there, and the whole vibe felt super depressing, almost like I was in an abandoned building. Plus, the lighting was so dim that it just added to the creepy atmosphere. If you’re thinking about swimming here, I’d recommend saving up a bit and going somewhere nicer. You’ll probably have a way better time!

Kay Duncan 6 months ago

Negative experience: The Queen mother sports centre has to have the most miserable staff known to mankind. Is it part of the job description to be miserable af to work on reception? Toilet facilities are disgusting too!

Johnny K 8 months ago

Negative experience: Great facilities but badly mis-managed by Everyone Active. Booking for swimming pool gives often times that are not available, last week alone this happend 3 time but this is a regular occurance. Telephone is not answered.

Saira Bux 8 months ago

Negative experience: Terrible customer service!! Front desk is so poorly managed - you’re better off having a robot there.

Ellen Gray 8 months ago

Negative experience: I booked a PT session with a PT trainer who never showed up. They charged me and it has been a mission to be refunded 2 months later.. dont go here.. So disappointing..

Positive experience: Great facilities but you really need to pay your reception staff more money or improve their work-life balance because they are bloody MISERABLE!!!

Angeline 9 months ago

Negative experience: Terrible management, nets for badminton courts were set up late and hastily and we had to reset them. A staff told us to move for basketball one hour into our 2 hour booking, took down the nets but told us to move back to the same court again, wasting 10-20 mins of playing time altogether to reset the nets. Floors were slippery too. Management needs to train their staff better and clean the floor more frequently

Fantastic experience: Great local centre which serves the local community and workers.

Negative experience: The water is so cold

Trinh Bui 1 year ago

Positive experience: The facilities are nice, and there are lots of sports choices. However, I'm giving 3 stars because the pool and changing area are very cold, even in the summer. And the toilets are quite gross making the whole shower & changing area stink. I hope they can control the temperature and cleanliness better.

Positive experience: Is there any chance the gym to be cleaned a bit better please? Look like the machines, benches and other equipment has never been cleaned? I have seen the cleaner just hoovering so so and that’s all?! There is a lot of dust and debris everywhere.some of the equipment is so dirty that I don’t want even to touch it. Perhaps the management can look better after the equipment- it takes months some equipment to be fixed? The soap and desinfectante are always empty? The aircons filters should be cleaned more often too? Maybe the management can find solution to prevent the smell of chemicals from the pool going everywhere? The best part of the gym is the PT Baz - when he works everything is in order - people respect him and they put the dumbbells and other equipment in order.

Fantastic experience: Gym + swimming perfect

Positive experience: Not the best of all sport centres, plenty of room for improvement, but still pretty good and with a lot of facilities and options to chose from.

Negative experience: Customer service is absolutely rubbish. PLEASE AVOID AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN HERE!

Negative experience: Never seen a lazier front desk than here. They don’t answer emails; when you show up in person, they barely look at you, they answer anything to get rid of you and get back to eating their bags of crisps as soon as possible. Swimming lessons: they supposedly have an “award winning kids swimming course”. How can it be award winning when the teacher changes every week?

Maddie Jones 1 year ago

Positive experience: I've been coming to classes here for just over 2 years, and I love it. The class choices are great (lots of LesMills and Zumba), instructors are fantastic, the vibe is friendly, and Studio 2 upstairs does the *best* immersive BodyBalance classes with projections. This is the perfect gym for anyone who wants classes where you push as much as YOU want, and are not shamed for taking the simpler option if your body needs that (I have lupus, my fitness and joints vary widely from week to week, and I've never been made to feel anything but welcome even when I've adapted and/or skipped certain exercises). The instructors effortlessly offer a range of options for different activities, and make everyone feel welcome in getting fit no matter where you're at. Angela, Amanda and Nadege - thank you all so much for your positivity and making a great exercise environment. This is the first time I've exercised this consistently in my life, and it's thanks to the supportive atmosphere! ⭐ I've only removed one star because the booking app can be pretty buggy and the classes book up very quickly (can be frustrating). The classes themselves are thoroughly excellent!

PABLO ZAPATA 1 year ago

Positive experience: Everything is fine but maybe they need to change some equipment to do exercises.

Nishan 1 year ago

Negative experience: 20mins into the badminton session of 55mins, still no staff showed up to set up the nets despite multiple times notifying them. Terrible customer service. They are all lazy and just sit there chatting rather than doing their job. Horrible attitude too.

Negative experience: Been to quite a lot of gyms in my life and this has to be the worst most filthy gym iv ever visited makes me wanna call the health board

V MK 1 year ago

Negative experience: Judging my the reviews, glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this place was filthy and stank. Thought it would be ok considering it is in a nice part of town. Reception staff had no idea what was going on. Change rooms were rammed and stank. Class I was there for was so unorganised and started very late. Dreading having to go back.

Richard Smith 1 year ago

Negative experience: The machines are disgustingly filthy. I’ve never ever seen them wash the machines down in two years of coming to this gym. See photos attached The trainers and staff otherwise are amazing though

malila durant 1 year ago

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible. Turned up for a badminton session only to find out it was cancelled because of a double booking. I received no cancel confirmation and when I asked the receptionist for a refund she had her headphones in and was ignoring me. Truly incompetent staff with no customer service skills. I also noticed other very similar reviews, perhaps Queens should fix their booking system ASAP so customers aren’t turned away AFTER booking and turning up. A customer service class wouldn’t go a miss either!

Negative experience: 6pm Friday yoga teacher (Sue) is an actual bully. Avoid!! Never thought I’d meet someone so unpleasant at YOGA!!!

C L 1 year ago

Negative experience: Very dirty facilities. I've seen vomit in the bathroom sinks, and dirt cakes on gym machines. The machines are also old, and frustrating to use because of the rust. There is never any soap or hand sanitiser, and the smell of chlorine from the pool makes the gym (in a separate area) stink - how?! Also the classes are always fully booked which is annoying. Pay more money and go elsewhere, or don't bother.

Sarahsblackbow (Sarahsblackbow) 1 year ago

Negative experience: Why are the kids from Grey Coat Hospital School having their PE sessions at the gym on Wednesday afternoon? That's just lazy education! I went to that school back in 2000 and we never went to the gym! We had a proper PE lesson. The teacher doesn't even show them what to do! She just chills out on the floor on her phone and lets them crack on. The students just end up using the equipment while staring at their phones too as that's what the teacher does. It's facilities (treadmills) are often broken. Would love to see more Aerobics classes available during the week rather than just the weekend as I work every weekend so not been able to try that class. Also would like public swimming to be available before 4pm during the week.

Positive experience: 3 squash courts, decent quality , would recommend if you're in the area

Negative experience: Am I the only one disgusted by the fact that ppl enter the pool area with shoes on, walking near the edge of the pool with dirty shoes and also pushing prams all over where ppl walk bare feet?!? Then enter in the water?! It’s utterly gross Parents entering showers with shoes on to help the kids washing, again disgusting. No policy about removing shoes and wear flip flops or slippers? The showers also are a struggle to use specially for little ones. C’mon people, It bloody common sense! You step on everything out there including dogs poos and pees then bring this in…

Dmitry Emelyanov 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: All you need in one spot. Great facility with a good range of equipment and large swimming pool.

Nirmitee Mehta 1 year ago

Negative experience: Their swimming program is rubbish and the pools aren't cleaned properly. The management chooses to shut the pool, close swimming lanes, prioritize outsiders events over regular paying members without any proper communication. The staff is unfriendly and unhelpful at times when this happens also

Negative experience: Hello, I am Gennaro Pucci. I joined the membeship in queens mothers sport center few months ago. I left London for good. I came the 9th of August to cancel the membership before to leave London. A guy at the desk cancelled for me but 1st of September I have been charged again. I do not have anymore even the card because the guy told me I can throw it away. Can we check if the membership has been cancelled? With kind regards Gennaro Pucci This was the mail I sended to you the 1st of September. Never an answer. A friend of mine, living in London came to ask if it was cancelled but no reply for privacy reason. I understand! For sure the same guy that he tried to cancel my membership. Once again I have on my direct debit a payment due to coming. Is it possible to reply to the mail I have sended and sort it out??? Thanks

Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK COURTS HERE! I booked a week in advance at midnight to get a badminton court. Showed up 10 mins before my booking to discover that the booking has been moved without notification and a school was in the hall. Absolutely awful centre. Do not book here!

Jules SIMON 2 years ago

Negative experience: Tried to have table tennis sessions. Booked for an hour and always being kicked out to leave the hall to the yoga class as they need to install their mats. But I booked for 1 hour and not 50 min. Outrageous!

Alexandra Bowen 2 years ago

Negative experience: Dirty pool with unsafe swimming conditions and too many lessons every evening of the week resulting in not enough lanes for adults to swim in

Duke 2 years ago

Positive experience: This sports centre presents good value for money for swimming, gym and sports. As expected noting that it’s council run, it is tired in areas and in need of refurbishment or new equipment. On the positive side it is very clean and the staff are really nice.

Georgie Silverman 2 years ago

Negative experience: Grotty changing rooms with no locks on lockers. Floor is caked with dirt and damp. Drains in the showers are blocked and reeks with the smell of damp and mould. Shower heads don’t work, only spurts out water in drips. Gym is dark and dreary with equipment facing the wall. Little air conditioning. Broken and dirty equipment and not very spaced out. You have not much choice than to work out right next to people because of the equipment spacing, it’s very off putting. Grumpy staff who don’t seem to want to be there. Felt like a maze trying to get to the gym itself. I’ll probably catch a bacterial or fungal infection from the changing rooms, showers, or gym. I wanted to spend as little time there as possible. Needs a very good, deep clean, and a desperate revamp!

Customer Service 2 years ago

Negative experience: I used to come to this gym about 5 years ago and it was honestly the best in the area. I’ve recently rejoined and it’s really gone down hill. The gym itself has loads of different machines which is great but half of them need a deep clean/scrub … you can see dust and grime build up in every corner and other ones are broken… then the gym itself during the week has an over flow of kids under 18… bunch of kids that stand there on their phones and do nothing but spend 35mins texting at the machine? The gym itself is also very dirty in general - the mats are full of dust… there’s a cleaner (a lady with long hair and about 20 bangles on her wrist) who the other day took water from the fountain and sprinkled it on the floor and mopped… even though there are antibacterial sprays everywhere lol… I think I’ll be moving gyms based on all the above…I’ll give them a chance because as I said this was the best gym but in the day…

pranav malhotra 2 years ago

Negative experience: Very bad gym...Most of the machines are either broken or "OUT OF SERVICE", and yes, this is AFTER the refurbishment!

Oo L 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Sports Hall walls are much nicer than they used to be and it's in nice blue. The ceiling isn't white but woody brown and overall, it is a very nice hall for badminton. Very happy they have done some refurbishment in the hall as well as the reception. Spot lights get in your sight sometimes, but much better than other centers with white walls.

Alex Howell 2 years ago

Negative experience: Imagine arriving for a swimming lesson and the teacher just not turning up. Imagine asking all the staff and just getting shrugs. Imagine complaining and not getting an apology. Imagine no more! For just £37 per month you too can experience it for real! Edit : 1/ the prices have gone up 2/ because of their "outdoor shoes OK poolside" policy you can be sure your little ones are swimming in the little bits of street grime everyone walks in

J A 2 years ago

Negative experience: Dirty and cold pool and pretty filthy changing rooms. Really run down. Not really fit for purpose if you want to take your children for a swim. Thought I would give it a try after many years of absence for the same reasons as the one cited above, but there has been no improvement, just deterioration. The life guard (a Brazilian dude) was very friendly.

Aya Bider 2 years ago

Negative experience: One of the worst leisure centres I have been to I used the showers today it was very smelly and the changing room smelt like excrements and the place is rundown and it needs some TLC. I will not return to this leisure centre ever The changing room stank so much I found excrements all over toilet seat and pubic hair inside the toilet. The babies changing room stinks so much and I heard the sound of a child pooing whilst getting changed It was very nauseating. The showers stank so much it smelt like urine and excrements mixed together . I found it disturbing

Fantastic experience: Exactly 4 years ago, on St George Day, I started an ongoing multi-club membership with Everyone Active at Queens Mother: I have been happy with it throughout the years, although I use almost only the other clubs in the membership for fitness classes, and at Queens Mother I only do MoreYoga classes).

Zahra Rose 2 years ago

Positive experience: Slightly older facilities, but friendly staff and a kids pool as well as an adult pool too. Lots of swimmers enjoying the pool

Laura Andrews 2 years ago

Negative experience: Overcrowded, unclean, too few classes compared to pre covid.

Hugo S. 2 years ago

Positive experience: You get what you pay for. One of the cheapest gyms in London = not the best experience. Gets very crowded, in peak times it's unbearable. Equipments are constantly dirty and you will notice frequently some of them won't be working. Some members of the staff are very nice but not sure what are the instructions for the gym because most of them literally do nothing there. Can't give my view on the pool, never used it. Squash courts are nice, basketball court is shared with badminton which means almost impossible to book. They offer interesting classes in a pay-to-go basis.

Fantastic experience: Love the badminton venue! Clean and spacious

Luis Madrid 2 years ago

Positive experience: Is a good average gym, affordable… but it needs too much maintenance, a lot of times machines breaks down and take too long to fix.

Yianni Nalbantis 2 years ago

Negative experience: Tried calling 5 times for a payment enquiry and they picked up but only to immediately hang up.. really terrible, not sure how the staff were trained but it certainly wasn’t in customer service. Absolutely ridiculous.

Shad 2 years ago

Negative experience: I was on the treadmill earlier today (27/01/2022) at 2pm. I was going full speed on the treadmill when your personal trainer called Baz, thought it was appropriate to disturb me to ask if it was my coat on the windowsill. Not only is this incredibly rude when someone is in the middle of a workout going at full speed, but it is far more dangerous than any hazard caused by a coat on a windowsill. From what I can deduce, I could see a mop and bucket so I assume he wanted to clean the window sill. The level of callousness shown to your paying customers and absolute lack of common sense which could have led to a serious injury is the reason I will be cancelling my direct debit and joining a gym where I am valued as a customer. This is in addition to the fact that the last time I paid to use the sauna, it was in an absolute state with rubbish everywhere and carrier bags lying around.

Pete London 2 years ago

Negative experience: Definitely one of the more disappointing Westminster Council Everyone Active gyms. It offers loads of activities and facilities, but it’s mostly run down. Machines in the gym take weeks to months to get fixed, despite repeated chasing. The gym gets extremely busy. Cleaning is very poor in the gym, pool and changing rooms. When they do clean the gym, they seem to only do it at peak times around 6pm on a weekday… Deep cleaning seemingly never takes place. Staff are completely disinterested. Positives are it’s in a good location and it’s decent value.

Fantastic experience: Vey good gym with the classes and pool. But now I live far. So can't use it.

Giulia Orlando 2 years ago

Negative experience: The wet changing room are disgusting. I did my first acqua arobic class Saturday afternoon and the changing rooms were a completely rubbish dump! Smell of pee everywhere, toilet brushes flipped on the floor, floor dirty with hairs and dirty brown water. The cleaner should clean before and after every class, this is how it works in all places! 2 over 4 hair dryers were broken, so I ended up going out of the gym with my hair wet. Please do something about cleanliness and increase the hair dryers equipment!!!!

Ellen Johncock 2 years ago

Negative experience: The gym was disgustingly dirty when I joined up, I complained several times and they said they would clean it and then never did so I tried to cancel my membership multiple times by filling out membership enquiry forms, within the required 14 day cooling off period. I also called the center multiple times but no one answered and I found out today that had removed me from their system but were still going to charge me for my membership so I ended up having to cancel my direct debit with them. They have really bad customer service and their facilities are dirty.

Peter Browne 2 years ago

Negative experience: I have had a terrible experience trying to book space at this centre even though the space was available the bookings manager was the mist unprofessional person I have ever dealt with I have left her countless messages and sent many emails and she would promise to contact you and nothing , if you are looking for a venue to hire avoid the queen mother sports centre.

Positive experience: Love this local pool. It's reasonably priced and they offer different speeds of lane swimming. Some days are busier than others but you quickly learn when are the good times to go. Changing rooms for the pool are a bit basic and communal, but it's a public pool so this is expected. I am also a member of the MoreYoga studio. It is a seperate studio membership scheme that is separate to the Everyone Active membership plan. I think they hold back some places for those with gym memberships. I have not used the gym or the sauna here. The pool is popular for swimming lessons including for adults. I dont need lessons but I do take my own float and no one has ever had an issue with that. If it's helpful, there are no private showers. Overall, this is an easy going place that serves a range of the community. You need to bring your own padlock for the lockers.

Raghdaa Hasan 2 years ago

Negative experience: THEFT is rife there and some of the staff also steal customers’ items in a blink of an eye even when you are v careful. Pls save yourself from this horrific experience and don’t use this place as you will lose more than you think you will save. The number is thing lost while in the swimming pool, (the items were poolside). I had my Shoes, 2 Jackets, phone charger and wallet (from my bag). All stolen while I am swimming and the bags were just my the pool so I can keep an eye on them. Once the staff found the items but whne I got there in 2 hours a member of staff had stolen them. It is a truly AWFUL place.

Poppy Ellis Logan 2 years ago

Negative experience: accessibility provision is not the same as the statement on their website, there is one small room on the poolside meant for accessible changing which also includes a toilet and shower, its cleanliness or upkeep are evidently not prioritised (it is dirty and stuff is broken), it is not possible to use the shower without everything else getting soaking, the sink is not low level, it's generally not great. there's a lot of other accessibility issues too, their booking system and having no way to contact them in writing are two examples the pool is fine and the non-disabled changing is also fine, but I had an operation and couldn't swim while recovering because the provision for people needing accessibility features was poor

Julie Buffandeau 2 years ago

Negative experience: I came to do a few yoga class (More yoga). The studio is very nice but everything is ruined by the bathroom facilites (just across the studio). I came 2 days in a row (Saturday and Sunday) and clearly no cleaning was happening on any of those days (blood stain on walls, floor, stains everywhere on the floor, dirty toilets). I won’t be coming again, disgusting. I posted some pictures to showcase that in the pictures section

Nojus Pakenas 2 years ago

Negative experience: My first impression of the swimming pool was quite good but it was quickly ruined by the amount of dust balls floating in the water and parents walking around freely by the poolside with outside shoes which is so bizzare I didn't believe it at first when I read the other reviews before coming and seeing it with my own eyes. No sauna included. Be mindful they only give you 45 mins if there's swimming lessons after so come earlier if you want to have a proper swim.

Carlos Soriano 2 years ago

Positive experience: I am writing this review because the user experience has really deteriorated recently. I hope this will encourage management to take action and improve things. In summary, three areas need to get better. 1) Maintenance. Many areas are not taken care off, resulting in things getting broken and being out of service for long periods of time (i.e. months). Recent examples include the basketball gym, the wellness area, and the water fountains. 2) Standards of cleanliness in the swimming pool, the changing rooms and also in the basketball gym floor, which is always slippery. 3) Staff friendliness. This used to be a lovely local gym with very friendly staff, but some of that spirit has got lost. Although the majority of the staff continues to be nice and helpful, the number of staff members who are rude or just don't care is clearly growing

Negative experience: Apart from having a tiny gym, the centre it's always packed. Sunday morning, no room for doing a quick workout, so went to the studio 1 (room in which there's equipement and different classes take place). It was 9:30 and there was a class at 11, and two supervisors kicked me out cause "I couldnt be there", to which I answered there was no space upstairs. I understand there must be a supervisor, then, create an space in which people can workout without being in a guided class. Cancelled my memeberahip. Not worth it

Eleni P 2 years ago

Negative experience: Slow/medium swimming lanes always outnumbered by fast lanes and private lessons. Bit of a joke. Unruly conditions in lanes too, the stuff does not intervene. So if not an athlete or in private lesson you ll always be swimming in a crammed lane. Demotivating.

Negative experience: booked badminton court from 17:00 for £15 an hour. No body came to START setting up the nets till 17:08 and tells me “you are more than welcome to set it up yourself”. By the time the nets are set up it was almost 17:15 and the nets weren’t even properly set up, they were loose and slack. The courts itself is humid and muggy. Ceiling lights aren’t suitable for badminton. Staff are indifferent

Negative experience: I called the centre to end my membership in May and said I need to do it online and I did so. Now after almost 3 months, I am still getting charged about £100 per month while I stopped using the facilities in March. Today I called the centre and Josh picked up the phone and he said I need to hold on till he gets more details and them he dropped the line. I called the centre 15 times and no one picked the phone up. This is horrible.

Thanks for your feedback! This has been passed onto the Operations Manager in regards to the changing room cleanliness. Negative experience: The swimming pool is nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful but the app and the management is a nightmare. The cancellation fees are not explained and you need to sort them out before booking any other activity and it is specially annoying as you have to go personally to reception. If you want to upgrade your membership, you will need to pay 2 months, and also you have to book the group clases with weeks in advance. To know if the sauna was included in your membership was extremely confusing for a long time and many times was even out of order. It is a very nice center with a lovely enviroment, it needs some refurbishment but definitely the management and customer service needs a lot of improvement, it can be extremely frustrating.

Queen Mother Sports Centre

Hi Natalia, Thank you for your feedback. I have passed your comments onto the IT team in regards to the app. Cancellation fees are within our terms and conditions here; https://www.everyoneactive.com/legal-policies/cancellations-refunds-policy/ a copy of which is provided during the sign up of membership. Our classes are extremely popular and do get booked up quickly, but we provide as many as possible to ensure everyone has the chance to participate. If you would like to discuss your feedback further with the management team, please email us on [email protected] and we'll pass this onto the relevant Manager. Thanks!

Negative experience: My partner got his phone stolen from one of the lockers. It's fantastic because the gym sold him the lock! On top of that, they now decided to change terms with no notice, and upgrade the access to things such as sauna. So my partner should now pay further £30 to access them, although when he bought the package they were included. Very bad, membership cancelled.

J Rudolf 3 years ago

Negative experience: I only use the swimming pool there. At first glance it looks like a nice pool. But unfortunately on closer inspection, everything is a little bit grubby, the changing rooms are avagerage, the other day I saw a huge slug in the showers. Yuk. I've complained before about their overall hygiene. Must've fallen on deaf years. They allow parents on the pool side wearing their outdoor shoes. I've even observed members of staff walking around outside the building, ten minutes later they are doing a lifeguard shift at the pool wearing the same trainers. Disgusting. It's a shame. I don't think it would take much to improve their standards. They're pretty low.

Amin Empire 3 years ago

Positive experience: Went here as a kid few times in the holiday was good for the time. Staff were useless and it's really a place if you know what you want to do go there and do it dont expect any help or advice form the staff. The pool could do with a deep clean. And the changing rooms need to be constantly checked. And cleaned.

Negative experience: The Leisure Centre is great but I had a terrible experience! A long haired slim build life guard (I later found out this was one of the managers by the girl at the front desk). I am a local and have joined with a membership, today was my first day. I began recording the leisure center from the pool area As I was walking up towards the gym. I was recording so I can show my Mrs as she wanted to know what it was like so she could sign up with me. The guy I described above began to shout "You can't record in here" I asked why not? And he shouts at the top of his lungs "Can't you see mate there are kids here". I was literally gobsmacked, that type of behaviour is absolutely disgusting from any member of staff let alone a manager. I truly believe he should be fired! How dare you say something like that to someone. I didn't know there was a no recording policy if there even is one and he could have politely told me that. Its an absolute disgrace and I honestly feel to cancel my membership and go somewhere else

Daniel Soutar 3 years ago

Negative experience: The actual gym is OK and the staff seem nice enough, although somewhat poorly equipped considering The Gym just 10 minutes away is cheaper and has more equipment (although fewer facilities). The big problem is that they tell you to use the website, which looks great but is completely broken - only payment forms seem to work, conveniently. Every other action I've tried like signing up, getting a taster session pass, getting a PT, all of those have failed and you have this dumb back-and-forth to get anything done. No response at all online. Fed up, so I quit. For gym-goers you can do better, even for the price imo.

Fantastic experience: It's great to be able to pop in when I feel like I need something for myself. Very handy location and good local resource. Staff are helpful if you are polite and show respect.

Negative experience: The staff are all friendly - the chap on the membership desk can choose to be helpful or not depending on his mood tho. Appalled at how they let hundreds of kids and parents wear their outdoor shoes around the pool - this is a real health concern. Pool is average, but this is the first pool where other swimmers have ever spoken to me so would consider friendly.

Fantastic experience: Nice place to play badminton and swim. Easy to book sessions online.

Fantastic experience: I was helped today at the Queen Mother Sports Centre by a very kind, efficient and attentive young man called Jordan. Thank you so much for your professionalism and dealing with my problems with the app. This is very much appreciated. You are the only person at this center that has shown any interest in helping me sort out issues that have prevented me from swimming for week's . Many Thanks.

Negative experience: This review is not on the facilities nor the people, but the online booking system that we're all forced to use right now due to Covid. Unfortunately, the system plays a large part in the experience of going to the gym and it is highly unreliable and incredibly frustrating to use. I signed up a month ago and I'm now in the process of cancelling. When you want to book, the system will randomly fail without giving you a reason. There is no easily accessible/visible live chat for you to get assistance. When you want to cancel, you have to manually submit a form. So I can sign up and pay online easily but not cancel? This is a disrespect to customers. I would recommend you to not sign up unless they have revamped their booking systems unless you're fine with an unreliable booking system.

Positive experience: Convenient sports facility right in the heart of London. A bit pricey, but good range of services

Positive experience: Great centre, friendly staff. Facilities are clean and gym is well stocked with machines. Can be tricky to book slots unless you do it a few days ahead but as long as you plan it well all is good

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym facilities friendly staff always willing to help.

Fantastic experience: Really good place, very friendly and helpful staff! The personal trainers are really helpful and willing to assist with any questions especially for beginners. For that price you get a quality gym

Charlie Maunders 4 years ago

Negative experience: I recently signed up to the gym under their £29.99 membership, however the direct debit confirmation has come through stating £59.98! Furthermore, I tired to book a session once the gyms reopen, however the system does not allow me to book despite there being availability. I’ve contacted Everyone Active and am yet to receive a response. Very unprofessional and a very poor mobile phone app.

Positive experience: 3.5 stars. The pool smell is horrendous. The squash courts are fine. Sometimes the lights didn’t work. You can rent a racquet at the desk and buy balls if you’re just trying it out.

Fantastic experience: Nice large sports hall with 5 badminton courts. There's also a boxing gym and swimming pool.

Negative experience: So the manager has created a really stupid/over the top way of doing things that don't make any sense - the moron.

Emma Puddy 5 years ago

Positive experience: Be glad that they have a heart and let those without a home use the showers, a basic right to wash and be clean. When we are so lucky why deny others, compassion is needed, not meanness of spirit.

Anastasia Manokhina 5 years ago

Negative experience: Filthiest wet changing rooms ever seen. I think they haven't been cleaned up for the whole day or even more when I was there. Hair on the walls, dirty napkins, stuff left by previous people, loads of dust in non-working hair dryers. The equipment in the gym is old and dirty, the dumbbells are scattered across the gym, never put back in order. Couldn't even find a pair for a couple of visits. Also, I was charged two times more in second month which is ridiculous.

Negative experience: Dirty , busy too many people . It close early . Other swimming pools manages to resolve the overcrowd issue by opening more hours !!

Pepe Grillo 5 years ago

Negative experience: The facilities are quite good. However It is very busy and they have ongoing swimming session for children during key hours for adults . Such us 19:00 or 18:00 all week. This lack of sensible organisation creates a chaos! Furthermore the life guards are quite rude . Which makes perfects sense when there are too many swimmers for a small period of time !

Negative experience: Ideal location, friendly staff. Would welcome more classes, since allof them are booked all the time. On the negative side, the place is very dirty. Pool is full of hair, the bottom of the pool is dirty, so is the poolside floor and the floor of the fittness rooms.

Positive experience: It is a good leisure centre. But it has a lazy vibe. Huge space and has all the equipment to workout and swimming pool. Had my membership for two years, but somehow visited few times only. The disadvantage it has no music.

Fantastic experience: I discovered the Queen Mother Sports Centre while on a business trip in London. The staff was friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. The classes were energetic and well run. The facilities were clean and well maintained. They have everything anyone would need from cardio to weights as well as a pool. They offer daily rates which are ideal for business travelers. I had a great experience and highly recommend Queen Mother Sports Centre.

Negative experience: On 4/10/19 at 3 PM the sauna was not clean and it was very dirty. It was nearly impossible to walk in the sauna because there was too much water. The dirt here was hair, plastic, plastic bottles all over the place and it was very stinky. Everyone that was at the sauna, including me,were very disappointed. We had all wasted our £10.40 for nothing

Graham Mcau 6 years ago

Negative experience: This place is so dirty but the staff don't seem to care when to try to speak to them about it. The pool was cloudy and the water level was too high so i don't think the water filtration system would've been working correctly. The staff don't know alot about the centre, company or the classes that are on offer here. The only staff member to be able to answer any question was the guy in the gym section.

Negative experience: If you have any allergies to chlorine DO NOT USE THIS POOL! IN FACT EVERY TIME I HAVE USED THIS POOL I HAVE ENDED UP WITH INFECTIONS and allergic reactions to the water additives. Changing rooms are gross and lockers don't lock. This used to be a very good place to teach your kids to swim. BUT HAS GONE DOWN IN HYGIENE /CLEANLINESS and security of one's belongings. Having said that, it does have 3 spacious swimming lanes for slow, medium and fast Swimmers. The sauna is pleasant. Nearest stations are Pimlico and Victoria.
