The Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre is a well-loved community hub located in the heart of Shrewsbury, offering an inviting atmosphere for fitness enthusiasts and families alike.
Highlights of the centre include:
- Friendly and Helpful Staff: Many users have praised the polite and approachable staff, enhancing the overall customer experience.
- Excellent Gym Facilities: The gym is noted for its solid cardio equipment and great climate control, providing a good environment for workouts.
- Variety of Pools: The 33m main pool, alongside other pools, offers a range of swimming options for all ages.
- Community Feel: Many loyal patrons emphasize the close-knit community atmosphere that makes it a welcoming place for regular visits.
However, there are some areas for improvement:
- Need for Renovation: Several reviewers have pointed out that the facility shows signs of aging and requires updates to both the infrastructure and cleanliness.
- Management Issues: Some guests have voiced concerns about the booking system and lack of communication regarding pool availability.
- Temperature Control: Complaints have been made regarding cold pool temperatures and uncomfortable changing facilities.
- Customer Service Training: There have been suggestions for improved training for staff to enhance customer interactions and resolve issues more effectively.
Despite these challenges, The Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre continues to provide a valuable service to the community with its dedicated staff and range of facilities. With some improvements, it has the potential to become even more beloved by its patrons.
The Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre: Opinions
Positive experience: Very helpful staff. Confusion over booking system. Easier to arrive on spec. Nice 33 metre pool. Slightly dated building but well maintained. Shame not part of wider leisure group (e.g. Church Stretton and Ludlow) so members could enjoy it.
Negative experience: Arrived at 8:30 and was informed that the main pool was closed due to renovations and that the other pool had been privately hired. There were 2 other additional vacant pools, one for the kids and a smaller pool but none could be used because a school group was coming in 30 minutes time. I asked if we could use the kids pool for 30 minutes and was turned away even with lifeguards present and available. Asked to speak to the manger and suggested they don't allow hiring out an entire pool privately for 1 person to swim for 80 pound when it means others are unable to swim. While I was there about 5 people were turned away. It's a public service, it should always be open to the public. I think it is being poorly managed and really if the main pool is out of action, they should cancel any private hirings and ensure a pool is always available. Whilst I was at reception someone asked if the change rooms were working today and the receptionist didn't even know the answer. I would suggest not going to this place and hope that it is taken over by a privately run company who knows how to run a pool. There wasn't even signage up indicating that there was closed until 10:30am, They were telling everyone as you walk in the door. I mean how hard is it to put a sign up so that people aren't parking and paying for parking before being told its closed? I've had similar experiences with this venue before and agree with the other reviews, the other issues raised at this venue should be investigated as well at the highest level. I would suggest given the other reviews it is being poorly managed as was my experience today (and previously). Your website says general hours are from 6am, replying telling people to check a timetable is further proof of mismanagement. A pool should be open the center is open. Just highlights the need again for new management. They didn’t acknowledge anything else in their response again which says a lot
Our pool timetable can be found on our website. We recommend to all customers to view this prior to visiting the centre. We appreciate your feedback.
Positive experience: A lot of bad reviews recently so I thought I’d add my perspective. I’ve been coming here nearly daily for a few years now. I’m solely a gym user so can’t comment on the pool, but the gym is great. It’s the best value in town, and has all the basic equipment one would need. Probably too basic for those who want advanced equipment and a lot of floor space, but the cardio machines are solid and were refreshed within the past couple years, and the basic strength machines are there. I go first thing in the morning and it’s never crowded. Key point—they actually have great climate control in the cardio room which makes a huge difference! I tried the new pure gym for a few months and couldn’t handle speed work there as it was miserably hot. Here they have an air con unit directly behind the treadmills. Only deducted one star because it’s a bit small and the sign-in systems are old and always down. Overall it’s a very decent community gym.
Negative experience: The leisure centre feels outdated and in urgent need of refurbishment. The downstairs changing rooms are reminiscent of a horror movie set. The pool temperatures are uncomfortably cold, making the experience far from enjoyable. Furthermore, the pool staff come across as unprofessional and unhelpful, suggesting a need for significant improvement in customer service training. Overall, the facility fails to meet modern standards and requires substantial investment to improve both its amenities and staff performance. Some advice to management, let kids use the floats and toys, like other centres do.
Negative experience: Rude staff, dirty facilities, misty water, and unsafe poolside with broken pieces of blue plastic dotted around poolside.
Negative experience: Would not recommend to anyone. Would give zero stars if I could ! My son attended swimming lessons where the ratio of adults to children were far too high. Children spent 25 of the 30 minutes holding onto the side of the pool waiting for their turn. Turning blue with the cold. I requested a refund and was told this would be sent …….. in June !!! We are now in October and I’m still waiting for my money back. After speaking to many duty managers. I ring constantly and am promised it will be in my account Friday when it never is . Absolute shambles ! I am currently taking this further.
Negative experience: I come here with children with special needs and they come for a splash around one of the pools. The staff don't really engage with the children, they may occasionally pass them a toy if asked for some. Its a shame that they don't put more effort into taking initiative or attempt to say hello to the children. It's incredibly rare that I give negative reviews and I do lots of reviews. I don't know how staff interact with other children and they could be great with them, but if you have a child with special needs and you want pool staff to interact with your child and take initiative to find toys for them to play with in the water, then maybe find somewhere else.
Fantastic experience: Popped in for the hour long baby swim session today and loved it! Apart from the added bonus of being the only ones there most of the time, I was really impressed by the changing facilities as I've only previously experienced hotel spa facilities for lessons which have all been cramped. Expecting to change my baby on the floor in a corner after reading other reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of cubicles, toilets, lockers and an actual baby change section. It was also really clean. Maybe it was my luck with timings today but it was great actually having space to do everything properly. Will definitely be coming back!
Negative experience: Impossible to cancel account, they never answer the phone. No one knows what to do about accounts, all outsourced. Be careful. Most of the facilities are soviet quality anyway.
Hi Jack, We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our response times over the telephone, however as we also run the front of house sales desk you can understand that we can get very busy especially during the afternoons and evenings. If you call us again on 0345 000 7003, we will be able to help you further and please note that if we are unable to respond you are free to leave a voicemail with your name and number we will get back to you as soon as we become available. Kind Regards, Carla Williams-Hindle Receptionist
Fantastic experience: Iv been coming to these baths since a child, they recently closed the main pool for maintenance but it's now back open, with updated shower area and changing rooms, my regular swim place
Positive experience: Honestly I think it’s fine, it’s a nice place the pools big and spacious, the token thing is abit hard as before we noticed it we were already in our swimming suits and couldn’t get the token but besides that I think it’s a nice place
Negative experience: Awful. Dirty. Smelt bad. No family changing!? Didn’t explain how the lockers work- you have to get a token from reception and use that, but make sure everything is in the locker, because if you reopen it, you then have to go and get another token!!! No door on some of the changing cubicles, including the baby changing!!?? Will never be going back.
Positive experience: The time I went about 2 years ago, it was all grubby and dirty but now it is pretty much clean apart from the odd muddy shoe stain on the changing room floor. Wonderful now, very fun.
Positive experience: Nice place, could do with the water in the pool being a little warmer though
Fantastic experience: Spotlessly clean facility and pool very helpful staff and no chlorine smell. Has just reopened and looks great for its refresh . Reasonable prices and free parking in eve Yes its been shut for an age but thats not due to the staff so rather unfair to mark them down for taking safety seriously.
Fantastic experience: Nice pool , clean, really polite and helpful staff
Fantastic experience: Love the Quarry. Been using it since 1970.
Positive experience: I swim here weekly, and despite being a bit run down, The staff are always friendly and approachable! they have been very informative and accommodating with the current refurbishments to the upper pool, and i look forward to seeing how it has improved!
Positive experience: Not as bad as the reviews are, warm learner pool, warmer showers. Cot and changing tables for babies( 1 in men area)
Negative experience: Took my 3 year old for his first swimming lesson today and the instructors were awful. He loves swimming and you can never usually get him out of the pool but being his first lesson without my husband and I going in with him, he was apprehensive. At no point did the two female instructors in the pool try and engage with us or encourage my little boy to try and get in the pool. My husband and I were stood on the side with a crying 3 year old trying to encourage him to play with some of the toys but were just completely ignored by staff. They didnt even attempt to communicate with me once the lesson had finished. When i went to get him changed my husband went and sat in the spectators area and overheard a couple of the parents saying they couldn't believe how the same instructor was letting their children swim off without any guidance whilst she was just doing her own thing in the pool. Safe to say we've cancelled our membership.
Negative experience: Facilities for disabled swimmers were unacceptable. One disabled/family changing room shared with what seemed to be life guards stuff, no locker and no shower. Impossible if you are a carer a and need to aid someone dressing and showering after a swim.
Fantastic experience: Thanks to all the staff today. Wonderful job snd spot on service.
Positive experience: I personally think all the negative reviews about cleanliness are a bit precious… it’s fine, albeit a bit tired. Could do with somewhere to put young kids down in the changing rooms and the toddler pool being a bit warmer but was good for an hour with the kids. Lots of floats provided etc.
Negative experience: We have come 4 hours away on holiday, thought we would go swimming, the pictures make it look lovely. We were wrong. The parking machine doesn’t work, the changing rooms are vile, black dirt on the floor, the male changing rooms and wee and hair and used plasters all over the floor, the pool itself was absolutely disgusting, in their 5 mins at a push, toenails in it, hair, the tiles were yellow in the pool, there was plasters stuck to the wall, it was absolutely vile. I would avoid at all costs. If i could give it minus stars i absolutely would.
Negative experience: Male changing unclean and poorly maintained
Negative experience: Utterly disgusting! Needs urgent cleaning or better yet, demolition.
Positive experience: The building is in terrible state.
Negative experience: If I could leave them minus stars I would. 10.00am today- paid for car park. Arrived at PUBLIC Swimming Pool only to be told pools were closed because they were expecting a school (Schools on strike today!!!!). Pools completely empty. Pathetic and useless.
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. Unclean and unsafe facility's. They state one months notice of termination of membership, but you won't get hold of them to cancel. They then get you to pay for 2 months, via debt collection agency 3 months after them not even trying to get in contact.
Negative experience: Cannot believe in 2023 fhey have no family changing facilities. I will not send my 11 year old son to get changed in the men's changing room by himself, surely that's a safe guarding issue. Had to use the disabled toilets to get changed and then had to walk through reception in my swimming costume just to get to the pool. Couldn't use the lockers due to having my 11 year old with me as he cannot go into the womens changing room because he is over 8 and had my bags on side of pool . They need to sort this out I will be going Telford for swimming in future
Negative experience: Staff were slow getting us in, there are still only the two small pools available and the place is old and not the cleanest - not good value for a £21 family swim
Positive experience: Used the gym. Cheaper than the high st gyms you see around. Good atmosphere.
Fantastic experience: Great place to go with family with 4 swimming pools, a gym and loads of classes offered from swimming to pilates and all kinds of fitness classes, a must try. Entrance is nice and neat, the change rooms are tidy and very sanitary. Swimming pool's water is clear and clean and looks really good to swim in. The staff was really helpful in showing me around and explaining how everything works.
Negative experience: Signed up for the gym when I was back from uni requested to be on month rolling so I could cancel for when I go back they ignored this and put me on 12 month contracted and now telling me I can’t cancel. Forcing me to pay for their mistake.
Negative experience: They need to deal with their swimming instructors anger issues. Our 6 year old was left traumatised this evening. Also my 9 year old was in tears for not keeping his legs straight. Been having these lessons for 3 years now, never again. A formal complaint will be raised against the instructor.
Positive experience: More equipment needed.
Negative experience: The most terrible Fitness center (( For almost three weeks, they could not conduct the initial training to visit the gym. I went specifically for 14 km on Friday to the reception for make appointment at Monday. Training was scheduled for Monday at 2:30 p.m. and what do you think? The same manager who confirmed with witnesses the training on Friday says NO, everyone is busy, sign up for next week. My mother and I don't want to play this games and waste our time anymore, and we leave this sports club without even starting classes. The most terrible Fitness center ((
Negative experience: We came to swim on Sunday, although we were aware of the main pool being closed, priory pool was also closed. Only the Claremont 17m pool and shallow pool open. The cafe was also closed. Very disappointing!
Negative experience: Kids lessons used to be good, now it’s a different instructor and shorter lesson each week. No kids facilities and dirty / smelly changing rooms. Can’t get a straight answer about anything from staff and receptionist seems to change very often and never know anything. Asked to talk to a manager about the lessons being shorter than we paid for and nobody bothered calling back
Negative experience: Unhelpful staff. I have been using this pool when visiting and looking after my grandson, in order to build his confidence. Compared to my local pool in Ludlow the facilities are dirty and smelly (toilets!). A lovely lady was on duty on 2 occasions to make sure we removed our shoes before entering the changing rooms. I've not come across this rule elsewhere but we complied. On one visit I tried to buy a noodle. There were none in the reception so we were allowed to borrow from the basket at the side of the pool. On a later visit we were refused use of the poolside noodles because they now had them in the reception and I had not noticed (although on an even later visit they were in the reception AND available at the poolside). When we were refused my 4 year old grandson and I had already showered before entering the pool. To fulfill my promise to buy one we walked out onto the top of the stairs and could see the noodles in a box by reception. I stopped a member of staff to ask if she could get me one and I would pay on departure. She called the manager who said I would have to collect and pay for it myself before I could have it. Since the lockers gobble up the 20p charge he agreed to give me a token to lock it after I had taken my money out. By then we were standing in a puddle from our shower. The manager clearly thought a 65 year old woman and 4 year old laden with bags could outrun the sports staff. We collected my purse and walked down the stairs in our swimming gear. The receptionist also thought I could tear off the plastic wrapped around the middle of the noodle. Once I had asked her to cut it off, she struggled. No one, at any point in the saga, was apologetic or helpful. It looks as though staff training is none existent. I am aware of how vital a resource, such as the pool, is to the people of Shrewsbury and of the campaigns that have been made to keep it open. Surely helpful staff and frequent cleaning will encourage more people to use the pool, adding weight to arguments to keep it open.
Positive experience: Main pool was closed, as under repair. But the other pool, it was absolutely freezing, I mean I was swimming and hour and I just couldn't get warm. There were loads of floating foam in the pool too. So really not nice to swim though. And the changing rooms were bare basic. No swimming costume dryer, and the changing cubicles were very small. Thankfully, everything was nice and clean. But definitely there are some easy improvement, like a flipping pool heater. *shiver*
Negative experience: Attended today to get aggressively approached by one of the lad’s who works their whilst we were in the pool. He proceeded to be rude for no justifiable reason and made us feel exceptionally uncomfortable. Beware!
Negative experience: Went 10am this morning, quite quiet, but I have been to this pool so many times before but it was the first time I have been and it was so cold,my 8 year old was doing a lot of swimming and he was still cold,I thought it may of been us but a few people couldn't stand it and got out as well, may be they are trying to save on the heating of pool because of the hike on electric but hope not
Fantastic experience: Great swim, hopefully the relax area will be open soon
Fantastic experience: It's wonderful, very old and in need of rebuilding, but until then, it's great to have
Negative experience: Not great. Council need to sort itself out and allocate funds to this fitness center.
Negative experience: I have been itching my self to death and the one swimming instructor is not very nice
Negative experience: Today *and always but more so today) the training (learner) pool was freezing and the changing facilities even colder. It's not a nice family experience to go there, there's not even family changing, my daughter was shivering getting changed. When will improvements be made or a new, relocated pool be built?
Negative experience: Deary me, where to start Parking is on street (or a tiny car park) and pay and display - thankfully the machines take card. Receptionist lovely and polite and the shop had a good selection of swimming costumes and goggles etc. The building (outside and in) is very shabby and tired looking. Changing rooms for the Quarry Pool were big so plenty of room there, however, the lockers take a non refundable 20p which gets swallowed immediately. Our lockers were faulty and didn't lock so we had little choice but to leave our things in an unlocked locker. We went to a family splash session with our 7 and 5 year olds. The water was too cold and at 3'6" the shallow end too deep for our youngest. Despite being a family session, no floats or noodles were available. The water flume opened half an hour into the hour long session which was a bit annoying for the 7 year old! The paper wristbands we were given to wear just got soggy and fell off whilst in the pool. The poolside staff dosed the side with chemical which splashed straight onto us....freezing cold and into my eyes. Then they used the scoop to slosh water from out of the pool onto the side but this was done with such force, we were splashed over and over again. We got out before the session finished and queued for the shower in a very cold changing room. Thank goodness the water in the showers was hot!!! We found a cubicle and started to get dressed but an attendant came along to hose the changing area down and we got splashed AGAIN by the hose, this time whilst the 5 year old was sitting on her towel on floor putting her socks on. I asked her to stop but she carried on. We left and probably won't bother returning. It's a shame we had a rubbish experience as the facilities could be fantastic.
Fantastic experience: great staff and awua fit class worth doing
Fantastic experience: Swimming pool in town open to public
Negative experience: We attended the pool just after 6 on friday 8th oct.It was by the nursery pool.It was dirty and hair also other unsightly bits floating in water. Some long hairs got caught in my fingers. The changing room was dirty and i put a spare towel down to dry off and put my socks on and it went into a gulley which absolutely wreaked of stagnent water.Wont go again!
Positive experience: Good machines
Positive experience: Friendly staff and everything is clean. It would be good if the cafe was open early on the weekends.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place, very pleasant staff who go the extra mile for people. Only complaint I'd make is that Shropshire Coucil have stripped the facility of resources over the last 11 years of local and national Tory rule, intent on relocating a town centre pool to the outskirts of town and selling it cheaply in to the hands of the private sector.
Negative experience: I have called 40 times over the last few days to book swimming, and they never pick up the phone. I turned up to be turned away as it is at capacity. I have left a voicemail which says they will call me back, but they just don't bother.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities out standing staff
Fantastic experience: Nice friendly place with swimming baths and gym. Well organised and people around willing to help. Showers provided. Prices are also reasonable
Negative experience: Smelly, dirty changing rooms, don't know why half the doors are missing in there either? Floors were so slippy, really dangerous. I could have written this exact review 20 years ago, nothing has changed in that time (apart from changing room doors disappearing). The smell has been the same for years it's disgusting. Far too many people in the pool, definitely won't be going again in the near future, or ever if we can help it!
Negative experience: Total lack of respect for people who social distance 90 people allowed into the pool very disgusted when we were leaving as she was over heard saying that there were to many bodies in the water so i commented saying that there were to many in the water staff just not intetested so left after 10 mins into the hour swim for own safety
Fantastic experience: Aquafit session was excellent. Wendy was visually clear in her instructions.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely pool with 2 lifeguards on duty. Thank you for a lovely swimming experience. ♀️
Fantastic experience: Booking in must be done in advance. Excellent Covid safe arrangements for changing and showers. The large pool is carefully arranged for lane swimming at your own level. Lovely helpful patient and professional lady on reception. All the staff are really helpful, making for an excellent safe swimming experience!
Positive experience: Good one way system in place....covid scare mongers done not worry
Fantastic experience: My swimming experience is wonderful for me, at the moment I, staff very warm and friendly
Negative experience: The pool is freezing cold for anyone who has circulation problems with disabilities and there are no facilities for a disabled person to shower. The floors are uneven and sharp in and out of the pool and it is in a very inaccessible place to get to. The staff are the only saving grace.
Fantastic experience: This is the best place ever it's not usually busy but when it is busy it's usually quite car there's a flume and diving boards
Fantastic experience: Very wet today!
Fantastic experience: Very good
Positive experience: Hi. I swim regularly at the quarry pool. Training for open water charity swims. On the whole the staff are great and helpful. However on one occasion I had to bite my tongue when I was confronted about not wearing over shoes. Now I get I should have been wearing them and I did apologise, but given this is the first time in 40 years I have been told about or seen people wearing them I would have appreciated being spoken to like an adult and not a child. I accept, and will now wear the over shoes but can i just say I am disappointed with lack of professionalism, eye rolling, and then talking about how bad it is with other customers while I was still there!!! Talking to me like a naughty school child. Poor customer care, a little more polite request and a little less passive aggression would be appreciated.
Positive experience: Just needs a little renovation. But who will pay and when. There is definitely a lack of public swimming pools in Shrewsbury so that when they renovate here it will be a big inconvenience.
Positive experience: Could be ever so slightly warmer but other than that, you get it swim in and it’s great, usually not to busy and now fairly clean
Fantastic experience: Great fitness centre and swimming pools
Positive experience: This much loved pool may be in need of a facelift but you can’t fault the staff or the community feel. Lou is wonderful with the youngsters and us ‘menopausal’ lot at Ladies Only sessions. Martin is patient and gives confidence to the little ones starting out. Receptionist are always helpful and the cleaner really works hard to keep the old changing rooms clean. So you may hear this place is run down but it needs our support to keep it going. It’s our local pool.. let’s keep it !
Positive experience: Its friendly with helpfull staff
Positive experience: An underused facility in The Town Centre. Parking is poor, and the centre is due a major refurbishment to keep it current, but the staff are ever friendly, and the rarity of a town centre swimming centre needs to be retained! ♂️. Update Feb. 2022. Still waiting for details of new centre, but is apparently on the cards for the next few years.
Negative experience: Smelly, shabby and neglected.
Fantastic experience: I only use the Gym.. The two older Gym Instructors are very knowledgeable.. I would highly recommend them for advice on training and diet..
Negative experience: Dissapointed and frustrated! This venue has a 3m deep pool and I travel from Ellesmere specifically for this, ( they also have shallower pools). Yesterday I checked their website for any alerts (there were none) and drove for 45mins only to told the pool I wanted was about to close for maintainable. Not happy.
Negative experience: The gym is basic to say the least. No squat rack, one set of dumbells, mostly resistance machines rather than weight ones, no good area to stretch. The changing rooms are shared with the pool and the showers, when they work are completely open with no privacy whatsoever.
Negative experience: We been going as a family for over 3 years and the past couple of month have gone down hill. We have membership cards for all the family which we renew each year. After paying £2.80 for parking we were kept at reception for 20 mins by an elderly member of staff that ,( was wearing glasses and still had her face around 2 to 3 inches from the screen) typing in our membership numbers wrong 3 times as far as we could tell. Still that one I kind of let slide. But today is really why I am writing this review. After our last unhappy time of half an hour before they shut the pool we weee determined to have fun with our two children. As usual jumped into the pool with my daughter while my partner stayed in the training pool with our youngest. Half way down the pool to which 4 customers (including myself and daughter ) were in. The young blonde lifeguard told me that if my daughter couldn't swim a length of the pool she was not allowed past 5ft marker. I replied yes she can , to which her response was it has to be confidently. So I replied again "yes she can" So then I was told to prove it now . I couldn't believe she has a reason not to believe a parent let alone a customer. I do not force my daughter to do anything she does not want to do so I simply asked her does she want to prove it to the girl that she can do it or shall we go in with her sister and mother. A little shy she said go in with mommy. I have to thank the 2 other people to for getting out and leaving the lifeguard looking after an empty pool. My daughter definitely appriciated the support. After being approached twice by a girl llifeguard and then by her colleague . I'm asked if they could just forget it as we were determined to have fun this time . We went on to spend the next hour in the training pool. It's seeming quite understandable that the place is far more empty now than it has been over the years. I myself was a lifeguard for 3 years and never came across anything like this behaviour from staff . I do hope that it is just health and safety gone mad as it has been in other areas of life . We as a family look forward to seeing to changes at Shrewsbury baths. Our children's school learn and teach theee I would like to think it can carry on. However I have found the next nearest swimming baths and will be judging it in comparison I can only suggest you do the same . L.stone
Fantastic experience: Very good
Ridicule...
Positive experience: Good swim. Cool flume. No access to middle and top diving boards. Have a greatly good fantastic day.
Fantastic experience: Lovely everything, pool facilities, child friendly. Great venue. Recommend to anyone looking to have a nice calm swim. Or a hectic day out with the kids.
Positive experience: Nice place, has a flume and diving boards. Is outdated though.
Negative experience: Old and outdated
Fantastic experience: Amazing
Fantastic experience: Staff here are great. The reason the boards are still closed might be because the council are trying to run the place down so they can turn it into executive flats?!Otherwise why have they been out of use for years.Everyone wants them to be repaired and its steel not rocket science
Fantastic experience: I love it, and so do the kids. Keep it here Shropshire council!
Negative experience: Whoever is in charge of the website, updating opening times, closing times etc needs sacking. The webpage specifically says opening at 6:00am.........and it's not = terrible service. When it does open, it's often late = terrible service. Great location, great potential, could be a great facility. As it is, I'd score it half a star...........and that's only because it's. Christmas.
Fantastic experience: Awesome
Fantastic experience: Clean , tidy ,staff very helpful and friendly. Great pools .
Fantastic experience: Good swimming pool. There are also diving boards and a small slide here. There is little parking here (about 5 spaces or so). If you're thinking of visiting I recommend parking somewhere in Shrewsbury Town Centre and then walking across.
Positive experience: Still a great facility for the town!! Hoping we are able to keep it there!!
Negative experience: So what to say the the actual pool's are very they have diving boards, a water slide and even a dicing platform... Which was closed and to be fair it probably always closed - that vexed me. Anyway let's not get in the way of this review. So the staff is very helpful they have the desk manned all the time so you can always go to information also they have a cafe that does food which is good. The showers left a lot to be desired the change rooms were oke not enough cubicles mostly benches for sitting down. They do separate the genders and also they have a family changing room which is good but one thing that you must watch they all have lockers that need 20 pence to lock if you are not careful it will eat you money and it doesn't give it back. In conclusion the quarry is a nice place which I would go again but I would leave it in a heart beat for a more rounded experience... However if they open that diving platform....
Positive experience: Value for money gym membership. Fair facilities but can be busy at times.
Positive experience: Showing its age but staff are always friendly and 33m pool is just the right size for doing lengths. Usually go in the evenings when there is free parking at the sixth form college.
Positive experience: Convenient location and friendly staff. Free parking at Sixth Form car park.
Positive experience: The place badly needs revamping but it's still a good place for a swim and the staff are friendly.
