Negative experience: Good place. However, it is difficult for the client to solve his problems. I have been trying to downgrade my membership for over a month now and have not received any support from them. I wrote numerous times through the mobile application to support and did not receive a single response. I tried to solve my problem at the reception, but they do not have such authority there. It is very bad when a client spends so much of his time and nerves to solve an elementary problem.

Fantastic experience: I recently found this David Lloyd since I have a holiday home not far from here. I'm a member from Kidbrooke, but normally use Chigwell. And although facilities are newer and there are more things in both Kidbrooke and Chigwell. I found Maidstone to be the most friendly club. Although I'm new here, there is an instant warm community feel. The classes is great and the gym has a great layout. The cafe make super quality food and drinks and are super attentive.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to this gym from many years now, almost 10/12years It is a little expensive but they offer a lot too for the money. I particularly love the pool, gym , courts, the weights training and cross trainer & rowing machines. All the staff is amazing!! Special mention to Abby she is genuinely nice and has always been very helpful 1

Negative experience: Way too overpriced for what is a tired-looking gym in need of a refurb and deep clean. Haven't visited classes though so they might make up for it.

Negative experience: The Gym is closing and Mote Park Leisure Centre are taking over but they haven't done even communicated this even though the information is in the public domain Avoid at all costs otherwise they'll transfer your 15 month contract to the more expensive Kings Hill

Fantastic experience: I started swimming at DL Maidstone on one of the hottest days of the year last year. I fell in love with it and have taken it up as a regular exercise. The changing rooms and facilities are great, I find it reassuring that there’s often a life guard or a class running as a novice adult swimmer. All the staff I’ve met are really friendly and welcoming, and I also like that when I’m super hungry after my swim the restaurant has healthy drinks and food to offer.

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely tour today to see if it was for me,the beautiful blue lit pool,sauna, jacuzzi and steam room was just what I was looking for Jaimie showed me round,explained everything fully and in depth,really knew her stuff,chose the package for me and signed up for a year. Mathew on reception was really helpful sorting my app. Guys in restaurant were friendly and Tom chatting health and safety, I really bombarded them all with questions and all willing to help. The gym looked impressive, everywhere was clean. I had my first swim and it was lovely, I cant wait to go back,thank you guys...see you soon

Negative experience: As I was aware you buy a padlock too leave your personal gym stuff in a locker and you have too buy the lock for 6 pound tonight all my swim stuff was taken and the padlock was taken by staff...mean your personal belonging can be stolen by staff as I inquired about this a male staff tallish unketp hair told me that all personal items are not aloud to be kept over night ,,in which I was unaware and un in formed if I was told this I wouldn't of woundnt of lefted belongings there he was rude and he talked over me as if I was some criminal..and all personal items were put in a bag for me too collect back I've been using this place for over 4 mths .nowthey did not in from me of this and he said that they did I have no email no text no call now apart from that he didnt give me back my padlock so now I had to leave my clothes and my 1300 pound phone in a un locked locker now this is the second time he has been rude too me once in front of my daughter rude I dress down because I'm minted in bitcoin I have a lot of clients who I will not recommend this place I'm stuck here now for another year great, who do you think you are ..and most of the lockers a broken please sack him he just stairs at me wen I go swimming wot is his problem I pay for you too work there not for you too make me feel uncomfortable so I don't go .rude I'm a stylist do you think if I was rude and made people feel unwelcome and talked over them in pleing that they ate not good enuff too walk I my saloons....well go sigh up somewhere else

Positive experience: The venue is 5 star as well as cleanliness, staff, facilities, classes, everything. I only gave it 4 stars because you still have to pay something if freezing your membership, you can't leave within a year and even after a year it's 3 THREE!!! months notice.

Negative experience: Never seen such poor professionalism from such a high standard club. Currently a member at virgin which is such a good gym. I wanted to join David Lloyd as it’s closer to home. Not one person from sales came out to greet me. I asked for a trail day which I was happy to pay for but was told they don’t offer it. How can you commit without seeing what it is like. If I’m honest the club needs some help as they have just lost a potential member if I’m treated the same way I’m sure the sales will go down. I hope someone does something about this because it’s a shame that people who work there is letting the club down.

Negative experience: I signed up for a free month. I cancelled before the end on the free month, as I was told to do if don't want to continue, no string attached. The gym took money from my bank account on the next month. They haven't replayed to my multiple emails for two weeks. I emailed that I want a refund and want to cancel the membership that they signed me up for!! When i called reception they said they cannot help me with this and that there isn't a number I can call and talk to someone about this issue. They said I have to email them. I already have!!!! and no response whatsoever!!! Even though they have been sending me emails regarding my direct debit. I am not happy at all, I want a refund, and membership that I never signed up for to be cancelled!!! I am not attending the gym and never will.

Negative experience: David Lloyd are money grabbing, avoid at all costs. Due to covid they extended contracts and did not allow people to come out of contract before time despite not being able to use the facilities due to self isolation and loosing jobs etc. I would advise anyone not to join as they are not being socially responsible in these dark times.

Negative experience: Club is clean and staff is really nice and friendly. However, it has a HUGE disadvantage - no free parking. If you are a member who comes in every day you could possibly end up paying £75 monthly for parking itself!

Positive experience: When Louise or lilly are on reception, you will ve greeted with a big smile that will brighten your day, they are very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool is a nice temperature and the sauna and steam room are great. Its a very friendly environment, expect to make friends with other members and strike up a convo in the sauna or steam. Swimming teachers are friendly.

Negative experience: Pretty poor. The gym itself isn't too bad, but the changing & shower facilities are appalling, especially given the price you have to pay for a membership. I don't once think I've been in to the showers to find them clean, the soap/shower gel full or for the water to be warm. Staff are friendly & helpful. Recently attempted to cancel my membership and received no response from DL Maidstone and after reading some other reviews on this platform have cancelled my direct debit. Shambles.

Positive experience: Ive been a member at the club for some 4 years or more, and despite the poor reviews, I find the club very good. The staff are on the whole just super, Ive only had a run in with one when she was rude to me about using olbas oil on the heater in the sauna. The sauna is however, 1st class! The place is just fine, the machines are great, and unlike most, has a number of resistance machines, my wife’s cheaper gym doesn’t have one. The food Ive had there has been good, and all in all, I’d recommend this gym to others. My only complaint, which is probably going to be the same at all gyms, is the simply appalling chickaboom music. It’s the sort of music 12 year old Chav’s would listen to.

Negative experience: Been a member for 4 or so months now, on a 12 month commitment. Wish I hadn't honestly. The equipment is tired, especially the free weights and resistance machines. I have seen the odd trainer on shift put some weights away, but apart from that it's a complete free for all, absolutely no one tidies weights up. Bare in mind the parking situation which is horrendous, albeit out of the clubs control I assume. I visit the gym 4x a week, at £2.90 for 3 hours in the carpark a time. This doubles my membership cost and the rest. Sauna, Steam and Jacuzzi okay but still not what I expect for the price of a platinum membership. There was even a group of boys the other day in the jacuzzi on phone calls, and the lifeguard on shift didn't even seem to care. Steer clear!

Negative experience: Beware of their contracts and hidden small print. Overpriced for standard equipment. Impossible to speak to staff managers, literally no communication back. You keep paying for 3 months at least after cancellation of contract. They overcharge their personal trainers and a lot have had to leave because they can not make money. Their personal trainers are good, its a shame they don’t look after them and a lot of them had to go. Dont use this gym you will regret it and theyre are better options around.

Negative experience: Definitely the worst of all of the David Lloyd’s. Dated equipment and useless aircon. Jacuzzi is tiny and steam room barely works. They’ll also shut at quarter to 10 despite what it says on their opening hours. Better gyms in maidstone at much lower price.

Negative experience: Definitely not worth the fees. I entered the 12 month contract expecting a "treat." Apart from the cardio equipment being quite outdated and minimal resistance equipment, it gets incredibly hot. I've complained several times for the last few months and generally get fobbed off. I've asked to end my contract early with no response. I've signed a form to end my contract at the end of the 12 months but I definitely regret choosing it in the first place.

Negative experience: I referred a friend and I was promised a backpack as a gift. Weeks passed by and no sign of any backpack, I asked many times at the reception that blames the head office... Showers are cold and watch out for the price of the membership, there are different options and they change over time. If I didn’t insist I would be on a more expensive one after years of loyalty that obviously is not valued

Negative experience: Don't waste your money! It's not looked after. It's falling apart and nobody seems to care. The manager is useless, there is no maintenance that ever seems to get done, or that actually manages to fix a problem for longer than a few weeks. The pool is constantly cold. Always being given excuses about the boiler. But members are never made aware of the issues the club are having. This week for example. The boiler has broken, therefore the swimming pool is freezing cold (so much so that swimming lessons were cancelled) however an email has not been sent to say there is an issue, no facebook post was put up and not even a note on the app. However they can manage to send out an email to say that for an extra £11 a month you can receive even more from you membership. I'm paying £48 a month and is it so not worth it. Let alone an extra £11 on top of that so i can receive a towel everytime I go there. So that I can have a cold, dirty and mouldy shower, where they cannot even manage to refill the soap dispenser. I am appsolutly appalled by the gym, and the manager of it!

Negative experience: I’ve been a David Lloyd member for years now. Maidstone isn’t my club however I’ve used it a few times as been in the area with work. Very disappointing club. Only one I know that you have to pay for parking. The club is tired, the jacuzzi was cold and the steam room wasn’t kicking out much steam. Also the men’s changing rooms don’t seem to get cleaned very often. Food stops early on certain days and the staff look uninterested. The general manager wants to have a word with herself! Disappointed is an understatement as this is not my first time visiting, no change. Would rather travel to a club further away.

Negative experience: Journey to club from road you miss the club as the signage is so poor. On arriving at the car park this has to be the only DL that I know where you have to pay for parking while you use the gym that you're also paying for! On entrance the receptionist seemed friendly, the building looks tired and like its had minimal investment. The place lacked atmosphere, went to the locker room and they were drab and the lighting was dull and uninspiring. The pool area was not great either, the jacuzzi was luke warm, the steam room not great either and the sauna was tiny. I went back for a shower and there was no shampoo, bodywash or conditioner in the shower cubicle. Overall I could not wait to get back out of the place. I would not be happy paying anything more the local authority gym prices to be a member of this particular DL

Positive experience: Club is friendly with helpful friendly welcoming staff. It is let down by the fact the building is old and constantly in need of repair Some days you'll here from other members the pool is very cold. The Jacuzzi is closed . The toilets in the gym dont work. Its a shame that the funding needed to fix it never seems to be given and the belt and braces aproach dose not work. Sad a great team of staff let down by ageing facility desperately under funded.

Negative experience: I have gained a healthy veruca from the dirty floor in the men's changing room. Three months ago after leaving it is still with me and has affected my job. I signed up for six months only but my contract continued after the six months without my knowledge for two months after my six months finished. A 12 month contract would have been cheaper and I could of cancelled with one months notice. Rude gym member let out a gigantic fart in the steam room and that was the tipping point for my departure. Staff members are great and gym equipment is good quality.

Positive experience: Good: Nice facilities Plenty of equipment Staff friendly Bad: Car park charges (not DL's fault) are the biggest pain. Also options are one or three hours plus, no 2 option which if you want a gym and a swim would be more suitable. Since the refurbishment it has transformed the workout areas for the better. As always staff are brilliant.

Negative experience: I have been disappointed with the jacuzzi a lot which is one of the reasons I have chosen this gym since I have moved to Maidstone. Also paying for parking is one of the worse parts as I visit often any time during the week and this must be boosting my gym expences at least with more than £30 a month! Lol I feel I could actually save those money for something else :( The thing is I have actually didn't know that the parking is paid as noone from the gym staff will let you know in case you change your mind. I was thinking to walk to the gym, but with my heavy gym bag I couldn't do as I suffer with long term back problem. This was the reason I needed the sauna and as I mentioned the jacuzzi which there was a period of time was so filthy or out of order or like today was so much chloride that make your eyes cry after 2 minutes and everyone is complaining about it. The reason I haven't said anything yet to the management is because I am always in a hurry to not get a parking ticket in case I run out of parking time. Stress which I will shake off once my contact is finished.

Negative experience: I've been going to this gym for about a month and I can't say that I am fully satisfied. I signed up mostly because and don't drive and I wanted a gym with sauna, steaming room and a hot tub, which I can't complain about that (other than hot tub not really being that hot). Actual working out part of a gym is bit, which I have a problem with. They have quite a few nice looking machines, but if you just want to do good old lifting, then brace yourself. You will find yourself looking for weights all over a gym, then you will find one wight plate in one corner and another of a same size somewhere else. Same goes for dumbbells. It's not uncommon that you will have a hard time to find both pieces of a pair of your desired weights. Another thing, which I have a major problem with is, how undisciplined people in this gym are. Most people don't have a habit of racking their lifts back up. They just walk away from loaded bars, pair of dumbbells lying on a floor or any other equipment, which they were just using. I'll never find logic behind that (maybe just ignorance?). Add really short opening hours on Friday and a weekends and you will get a really nice looking gym, which I would not recommend for anything else than pool, sauna and cardio equipment. I'll cancel my membership once my contract expires. There are cheaper and better options in Maidstone.

Fantastic experience: A well maintained place with professional instructors! The best part is that there is a pool there and when you're not working out you can simply dip in! Really relaxing.
