Negative experience: Given how big the place is I was quite surprised how small the actual gym is. The gym itself is quite messy and dirty, no staff in sight (I was there 2h) and overall a poor experience. The only good thing is parking and accessibility. If you want a cheap gym that just does the job then worth trying.
Positive experience: The pool itself is good, clean and not crowded. The quality of the facilities has decreased after year. Smelly changing rooms, broken toilets. Hope they get better with the new administration.
Negative experience: I am only talking about the swimming pool but the changing rooms are very bad and dirty. You are lucky if you find a door that can be closed. Moreover, unfortunately I forgot my swimming kickboard and the answer I got when I asked for one was “when I go to do my sport, I take all my equipment” - context: there were 3 people in the swimming pool and no swimming lessons happening. Because the swimming pool is free, kindness is not included.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place
Positive experience: Not cheap cheap but maybe but terrible for the range of equipment, classes and opening hours. No complains about the state of the equipment or general upkeep either, other than a wee air con leak of late..
Negative experience: Whenever I come to do strength training, I feel like John Travolta. Looking around for weights. Often, no dumbbells less than 7kg found. It feels like they reset the environment once a week, and don’t care for more. I’m willing to change to another gym. Losing business is the only way they’ll listen. Edit: I cancelled my membership. I bought my own dumbbells and now I train at home.
Negative experience: Please avoid the place never go to the place very bad service and very poor customer service.
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing it's run by an organisation charity and all the money is put back into the country.

Negative experience: The gym literally closed down for a whole week with out any warning and 0 refund. Machine's constantly broken down, toilets in rubbish condition and price quite high. Avoid at all cost!!!

Negative experience: Really struggling to find an excuse for the existence of this gym anymore. Prices increased again to £42 per month, majority of the equipment is either faulty or broken for weeks at a time. The cleaning is abysmal, I pay an extra £4.60 per session to use the track and the toilets are brown, dirty and foul. Takes weeks or months for the staff to change the filter on the water fountains. Lanes at the pool are too narrow for more than one person to use. Sauna out of action for months. The women’s gym has one large functional mat and barely any space for free weight work outs, a number of treadmills are either broken or not even plugged in. Whole place is a total joke. Today we had one small toilet roll to serve 4 women’s toilets, and the other toilets were completely locked.
Negative experience: Staff at the call centre very rude couldn’t put me through to the refund team when asked to speak to a manager they put the phone down - what kind of service are they providing
Fantastic experience: EXCITING AND LIVELY. AND FRIENDLY
Positive experience: A lot of room improvement in terms of value for money. Poor opening hours, especially on bank holidays. Lack of morning fitness classes is unfavorable to those with office-hour jobs. Gym has broken machines and needs to upgrade it's scales to the type found in cheaper gyms such as 'The Gym'.
Negative experience: I m talking exclusively about the swimming pool here. I' ve been swimming here for the last 4 years and it s pretty bad. First, the booking system doesn t really show how many other people have booked (the other pool of BG do), so you won t know whether it s going to busy or not. Sometimes there are only 2 or 3 lanes available out of (i believe) 7-8, because some are used for some lessons (but again, you won t know about it), some are always closed, who knows why. The less lanes the more crowded the pool is. The water is pretty bad, i wear goggles but i had 3 eye infections in a year and half because of it. Last, the changing rooms. Obviously some people are just animals and the gym is not responsible for their behaviour, but the place doesn t do anything to prevent (i don t know, put some signs...) nor clean dirt. The pictures attached are from a thursday eve at 7: lots of drain flies, the cubicles walls are clearly not cleaned ever (some have lots of stains) and the floor is a joke
Negative experience: I’m cancelling my membership. I’ve asked 100s if we can have another step in the gym as it’s always being used. One for 40 people is obviously not enough. So I can’t do my physio in my gym. ♀️
Fantastic experience: Boxfit class with Mikey is great and power pump more boxing classes please nice fitness centre overall where is sauna at weekend in mile end

Negative experience: I am using Mile End Leisure. The price / month it’s high enough but lately they are not offering nothing. A lot of machines are broken l, the toilets are looking horrible. I know it’s a charity business but still!

Positive experience: It’s a decent PUBLIC gym, the only negatives being there are way to many unnecessary equipments as in way to many treadmills on the busiest days you only see 60% of them in use and so they can’t or maybe won’t facilitate more popular equipments like the last pull machine, there’s only one in there and you got to line up to use it 90% of the time waste a lot of time. Only one cross cable too and basically most of the popular equipments, are not available in the adequate amount which make their membership price feel very very high and undeserved but other than this it’s a decent place staff are nice and all went their for about 6-7 months then the membership price went up and that was not worth it anymore for me

Positive experience: Soft play is great for kids and family. A bit cold when we came 3d of December around 9.30 am. Coffee is cold in Coffee machine.

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed. The jacuzzi hasn’t been working for over three months, and I called today and find out that it’s gonna take another three months. The man was rude and disconnected before I could ask any more questions. Not only that, they take the whole annual payment, and then limit the resources we can use. At least we should be offered a reduction.
Negative experience: This is the first time I’m giving bad a review on google. Terrible customer service. Decent equipment. More expensive than better gyms out there and not worth the money at all.
Negative experience: Wifi does not work. Not enough lockers and cost £1 to use. Equipment remains broken/unusable for months at a time. They need more handles and attachments for the pulleys. I dare not use the showers because they are so dirty and gross.
Positive experience: I’ve had items thrown away or stolen by members of staff and caretakers. One of the damn lockers where you insert a £1 cut my skin and left me a scar when grabbing my belongings. Finally, the spa is filthy but I still go there as it’s affordable and goes align with my disability membership…SO THATS THE ONLY REASON WHY I GAVE 3 ⭐️!
Positive experience: Decent gym
Negative experience: The good: membership fee is fairly affordable, good variety of facilities The bad: 1. Rude staff on more than one occasion. This is the first time at any gym I've had a staff member interrupt my question within 3 seconds and literally say "what do you want?", or be argumentative when asked why my tag has stopped working all of a sudden. 2. Kids and young teenagers playing around in the weights area. Really? 3. Not necessarily a fault of the gym itself, but people here have bad gym etiquette. You will often see more dumbbells scattered over the floor than actually racked. Most of the locker keys are also permanently gone because people keep it for themselves.
Negative experience: One of the worse gyms in Tower Hamlets. Staff don’t help, always under staffed, machines not working, lockers always have issues.
Positive experience: Dreadful music.too loud.
Negative experience: Management is understaffed, and some of the local regulars undermine the law around social media in the wet areas, including the communal changing room, showers, pool, and health suit. Some individuals ruin the experience for most of the normal clientle and management need to step up and encourage a community atmosphere where customers and children are safe from online exploitation.
Negative experience: Consistently no available lockers at the gym. Apparently people take the bracelets home. Needs a better system

Negative experience: This Gym has the potential to be 4 stars if they had some form of management. Out of all the gyms I have been to over the past 15yrs this one is in a league of it's own due to the lack of management! Shocking how they are charging full membership for such a neglected gym! Whoever is in charge of this place should be embarrassed! Such a shame as the gym is actually quite decent if the equipment and overall hygiene of the gym was maintained! Multiple machines "out of order" for weeks running into months! Some of the equipment is borderline dangerous due to being worn out or not maintained. I read a review where someone wrote "finding weights are like going on a treasure hunt" hahahahaha very accurate statement! If there is a management and they do this review, come on guys, pull it together, you can't charge full membership and delivery half the service! Not at this day an age and for location!

Negative experience: The Mile End gym is by far the worst gym I’ve ever used. For the following reasons: 1. Many people seem to have very little respect for the gym rules, be prepared for weights left all over the floor, dirty gym equipment and sweaty benches. 2. The staff do not enforce any kind of gym rules, adding to the mess. 3. Broken/unsafe equipment is common, generally fees like an unsafe environment. 4. The free-weights area is tiny.
Negative experience: Better UK is basically a scam. If you enrol once you won’t be able to cancel the membership. One of the worst organisation for membership.
Negative experience: One of the worst nightmare for booking sports hall activities i.e badminton courts, we book 7 days in advance looking forwards to enjoy some times with friends canceling our other important things but you wake up in the morning and see emails that your booking is been cancelled. On top of your frustration the email would say that.... Thanks for letting us know that you are unable to attend. How annoying? Feels like kicking someone's a... It not a one off things its happening evey week and most of the time they fail to refund so you waste another 30mnt talking on the phn to get your money back. What a disgrace....
Negative experience: Dirty place , unhygienic, unmaintained, so sad state of arrangements... They don't clean the floors as well I guess so. Today was my first day and I am joining after completing my 5,6 months at Gold's Gym Hounslow (West London), so I know the gym has to be maintained everyday, and swimming/sauna/jacuzzi areas HAD TO BE MAINTAINED EVERY HOUR AND every 30 minutes of possible !! Bad things or Cons: They, at Better health, do not have clothes dryers, they don't clean showers ( you can find hair sticking around, eeww!! ) , Most equipments are old, Lockers are paid for no reason, The price is not right, not good, it is so expensive at 53 pounds per month !!! And the reception will either not know things or not willing to tell you details about subscription and the gym ! Good things or Pros : the staff who are working (except reception) seem to be helpful and try talking well, The instructors at aerobics class and hopefully other classes, are well and good, Beginners court looked fine, Well, I will add more , it was just my first day :)

Negative experience: Lovely and friendly staff, however the parking enforcement company they have decided to use has deterred me from going back to the centre. They keep issuing me with fines when using a blue badge to drop/collect a disabled family member, I am using the disabled bay. It is border line harassment and they are clearly chancers trying to scare anyone with a fine. The amount of wasted time and stress caused by constantly appealing and explaining why I should not be fined is ridiculous, especially when it happens every time you go. The government doesn’t even harass me the way they do.
Negative experience: They haven't changed the water filters in over a week, they don't care about the health of their customers at all, it's horrible!
Negative experience: AN OUTDATED. MESS OF A PLACE. UNSTAFFED. There is not even proper machines there. Such a mess at £36-£40 a month.

Negative experience: Changing room for swimming is disgusting. Flies everywhere. Barriers to gym a pain, sometimes they close on you as you walking through.
Negative experience: Shocking business practices from this gym. Was collecting some friends who where using the football pitches from 2-3pm. The game overran due to the previous booking overrunning. I was in the carpark for 22 minutes and didn’t even exit my vehicle only to receive a £100 fine in the post. The manager refused to drop the ticket. Shall never be using this leisure centre again. Watch out, very shady company ripping off their customers.

Negative experience: Wanted to change my membership from Hackney to Kings Cross and on both sides they didn't know how to, and pushed me to online customers services, which never answered a phone call or never replied an email or to a case I opened on they webpage. Now I have to pay a full month without using because they can't check for me how to change my membership

Positive experience: I went York Hall and used the gym. It was clean and very tidy. Everything was absolutely spotless. It was quiet but enjoyed my workout.

Negative experience: Pool is always far too busy, impossable to swim. All space given over to lessons. It is not worth joining for the pool. Have dedicated time slots solely for adult swim lanes.

Negative experience: The gym was dead during the various times I was there. There were more staff than customers and the roof was leaking. It was a shambles and not sure how this is surviving with such little custom. The football pitch is the saviour but it is pricey
Negative experience: Just finished lady's only gym session on pay as you go and not planning to come back again. Firstly because the lady's gym area is soo tiny and it's packed with machines, and there's no variety of benches to use for exercise without weights. Secondly the changing room is on the other side of the building which defeats the point of it being a lady's only gym session.

Positive experience: All resources you need to help get fits are here. Badminton, two separate gym for male and female different adult classes include crèche where parents can drops their kids and go to the gym. Spa looks much better today. A bit clear and smell a bit better. Still need regular cleaning.

Not only the machines are often out of order and never get repaired but today someone STOPPED me in the middle of sets to move weights cause someone is coming for inspection?! And can't use a machine cause she needs to clean it before the guy arrive?? You don't clean a gym 1day ecery year just for inspection! And certainly not while someone is using it in the middle of his set !!

Negative experience: Years ago when I used to go to this gym. It was nice. After long time I took my kids for swimming and pre booked for one hour. After going to swimming pool I saw all the lanes was close for swimming club and only one or two small lanes for other swimmers, which is unfair as you pay money and can’t swim. Better for them to close the swimming pool for clubs and close for people. So disappointed

Positive experience: A lot of work has been done to improve the experience. The café is a nice addition. Machines are fixed in a more timely manner. If only now they would work on the attitude of some members and some increasingly erratic daily characters. Come in the morning for a better experience. The gym provides free lockers that you can use for as long as you want. They're never emptied.
Negative experience: Nobody ever puts back their weights, half the time the floor is full of dumbbells and weights. There’s literally only one pair of 1.25 kg plates in the entire gym, even though I’ve made the complaint by email several months ago but nothing seems to happen.
