Small Heath Wellbeing Centre: Opinions
Positive experience: I really enjoy going to Zumba class in small heath with rose and Nasima at 7.30 on Mondays and 9am Saturdays! It’s helped me burn a lot of calories in a small and short space of time while having fun. I also enjoy Justin’s session on Monday after 7.30. The atmosphere and friendly staff are what make the enter enjoyable to attend, with different activities such as boxing, karate and Pilates with women’s only classes. I would definitely recommend attending this place. I particularly enjoy it. It’s a great place for signing up for a wellbeing card where you can enjoy the activities for free. It’s definitely a fantastic investment the council have instilled for the community where all are welcome. I would recommend more people to join especially those from working class and ethnic minority communities. The reduction in star is due to the facilities lacking the modern edge and needing revamping, such as the facilities and structure. However, the spirit is what keeps the place alive! Keep doing what you’re doing.
Positive experience: Good place to entertain the kids , the adult gym need more attention , The swimming pool is been missed by the local
Fantastic experience: Very very nice
Positive experience: Nice staff place needs a lift
Positive experience: Be active is good but in the mornings, it can get a bit over crowded and sessions can get booked very quickly. Sometimes it's very noisy with some of the women talking very loud and u just wana have relaxing sessions. Ladies, gym area can do with bit off tlc and more heavy weights.
Negative experience: They never answer telephone calls or return voicemail. Absolute joke this is where taxpayers money goes!
Negative experience: I have been a loyal member of this gym center for quite some time, but my recent experiences have been infuriating. Every time I try to call and book a slot, the line either gets cut off or doesn't go through at all. This isn't an occasional issue—it's happening every single day. I don't always have the luxury to come directly to the gym to book a session because of my busy schedule. Calling is my only option, and yet, it's proving to be impossible. It has been days since I last managed to book a slot, which means I haven't been able to work out. The lack of responsiveness and constant call issues are incredibly frustrating. It's unacceptable for a gym of this caliber to have such poor customer service. This situation needs to be addressed immediately, as it's causing immense inconvenience and dissatisfaction among your members.
Positive experience: The pitch is really good a top quality but one black one is a bit of a gruge and me want jamician
Negative experience: womens downstairs gym just has 1 treadmill and yet alot of women attend the session. you would just never get a turn.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful bollyfit class at a reasonable monthly payment of 17.99 pounds.its includes all classes you wanna attend at anytime &gym for any number of hours. I hope that swimming pool is opened as this place is huge.
Negative experience: The squash courts here are in poor condition They haven't been refurbished in over 10 years. The floor isn't solid and doesn't offer consistent bounce. The 'tin' is a plank of wood. Do not attempt to wear squash shoes you will slip to death. Stick to normal trainers. The usual varnish which adheres to rubber gummy shows is completely gone down to bare wood! Giving 2 stars based on locality and free parking as long as you enter registration on the system at the reception.
Positive experience: It is a hypocrisy that Birmingham City Council have spent MILLIONS on the Common Wealth Games, but neglects and has failed to repair the community swimming pool for OVER 6 YEARS. SHAME ON BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL FOR UNDERFUNDING ETHNIC AREAS.
Negative experience: They don't let you to go toilet the there is not ot of activity
Positive experience: Good local leisure centre with loads of activities Shame the swimming pool closed down,
Negative experience: Poor customer service. Zero Star if I could.
Fantastic experience: Thank you to the lovely gent, Craig at the counter. He came and greeted us whilst on his break and was so patient with my elderly father. Issued a new card quickly and efficiently. Great service and we were delighted. Thank you very much Craig. Really appreciate your time and effort.
Positive experience: I attended the bollyfit and zumba. Females only. Brilliant instructors. Great classes. Timing we're perfect for my schedule. Missing classes alot due to Covid 19. Hope to return soon. Didn't give 5 stars because the place needs some refurb.
Fantastic experience: I was able to claim a leisure card at the centre and the staff were really helpful whilst helping me in the process . It also includes a large collection of activities to have fun with .
Fantastic experience: Excellent

Positive experience: When I went the reception Sarinder Jhutti helped me very much and her skills was really good and professional and I appreciated her help and most importantly her kindness.
Positive experience: Free Gym for Birmingham residents
Fantastic experience: Great place I went to pick up my bike from the big Birmingham bikes scheme!
Negative experience: Terrible place we play foot ball here and they introduced car parking charges sneaking through the back door and then claimed they have nothing to do with the company. The people behind the desk need training in basic customer services really is that bad
Fantastic experience: Waiting for swimming pool
Positive experience: Good
Negative experience: Very bad place
Positive experience: Kind and helpful staff there are separated gyms but could use more equipments
Negative experience: PERSONALLY IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD ONLY because OF THAT RUDE WOMAN AT RECEPTION DESK SHE FINKS SHE'S SUMIN .SHE FINK SHE CAN BULLY KIDS WELL SHE' LUCKY arrightt! I NEVER WENT IN TO RAVE N RANT CUS THINGS WOULD HAVE ESCALATED. CHEEKY MONKEY THINGS SHE CAN UPSET MY SON WELL I TOOK IT TO MANAGER AND THANKFULLY IT'S SORTED out AND THE LIAR SHE IS DENIED THAT SHE WAS BULLYING MY SON.I WOULD HAVE LIKE TO SEE HER REACTION IF I HAD WALKED IN WITH MY BOY BUT LUCKILY MY HUSBAND TALKED ME INTO GETING THROUGH MANAGER WOULD BE BEST resort.i WOULD HAVE LOVED HER TO MEET SOME ONE HER OWN SIZE AND SEE HOW SHE CAN BULLY ME.THANKS TO MANAGER .N for HER SHE ISN'T IN THE RIGHT JOB ROLE.
Negative experience: Very bed service I have just received now. I was talking to one member of stuff (lady) on the phone,, was asking about gym membership fee. She was so rude and hang up the line while i was talking. I want manager attention for this issue.
Negative experience: has the gym got the proper machines?
Negative experience: Swimming pool hasn't opened for 2 years
Fantastic experience: Beautiful places to go and so fun. Go have a laugh with your mates
Fantastic experience: Fantastic class saturday morning 10am
Negative experience: One of the worst leisure centre of Birmingham. No maintenance at all. Broken dryers and soap dispenser and toilets are always dirty. Clock batteries not replaced since last year in main support hall, informed to centre manager but he seems not much bothered about anything.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities but takes time for staff to respond
Negative experience: The lady at the desk is really disrespectful, picks on kids under 15. She got that black dude on steroids rapped around her finger. Don't bring your family here if you want them to be verbally abused.
Positive experience: Good variety of activities
Positive experience: I remember this place from 20years ago Was buzzing at that time Squash courts are the best feature Has 3 squash courts with seated balcony above for spectators
Negative experience: less than one star if it were possible. Keep your kids away from this place. I thought I would try the multi skills session here, what a big mistake. First the coach turns up late then grabs a load of equipment and says do what ever you like, HUH? he then attempts to get the children to play in teams this is when it gets worse, they pick the teams and then start playing swearing kicking each other instead of the ball and making rude and degenerative comments to my children. Whats the coach doing looking at his social media on his phone, looks up now and again and everything seems fine to him. If you want you children to learn how to be disrespectful, abusive and a bully this is the place to be. IF Birmingham city council are using our council tax to run this place it needs a major overall and the standards need to be raised. Poor facilities, irresponsible staff and incompetent management sums it up. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND MY CHILDREN WHERE ASKING,"DAD WHY DID YOU BRING US HERE"? I WAS LEFT SPEECHLESS.
Positive experience: I play football every week there pitch is not the best but good for a local game close to home.
