Fantastic experience: Lovely spotless hotel staff were accommodating and extremely helpful pool sauna and jacuzzi were fantastic!!

Negative experience: Considering the changing rooms have just been renovated I was hoping this would be the same story for the pool and spa area, sadly mistaken. Outdoor jacuzzi hasn’t been working for a couple of years now and the indoor one isn’t warm enough to relax in. Same for the sauna never reaches temperature. The paint is peeling off around the pool area and looks tired, cannot imagine paying to spend a spa day here I’d be very disappointed. Can’t comment on the treatments as I’ve never had them. I have moved on to a better maintained facility for my swimming and gym now.

Negative experience: I’ve just left my spa experience in tears. I had a masseuse who hurt, it wasn’t relaxing, she wasn’t qualified to do the treatment I had booked (she told me this when I got in the room). I asked her to use less pressure and not go to certain areas of my body. She just did what she wanted. Massaged my ears for what felt like an eternity and then commented on how bad my back was. Told me I had 5 mins left and just left me in the room. I feel violated and I cut my spa day short after the treatment. Got my lunch to go as to not waste money. The lady serving lunch was so rude too, couldn’t comprehend that I wanted to take lunch with me so I told her not to bother with it as I didn’t want to stay. Just sat waiting for my lunch now and I’ve been told my chicken salad will come with anchovies instead. No choice to change it. The most relaxing part of my trip here was sitting in the garden on a surprisingly warm October day, watching the gardener mow the lawn and enjoying the smell of cut grass.

Negative experience: Our massage was 5 star however the pool itself and the facilities were not luxury at all. There were not enough sunbeds for everyone (people used their towels to 'hold' them when they wernt even using them - there probably would be enough if this wasn't permitted) and there are limited facilities. It may be nicer in the summer when you can use the outside area. We also paid for the afternoon tea package and we were offered water but no mention of additional charge so it was a surprise that at the end we had to pay over £5 for the bottle of water. The staff were all really nice and helpful though, particularly the bar staff who helped with a charger.

Fantastic experience: Partner and I visited after we were gifted an evening away with spa treatment. Both of us had a lovely massage and then relaxed in the sauna. The therapist who looked after me, Zofshan, provided a lovely massage and even did my first hot stone massage which was amazing. Very nice and would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I had a full body massage from Betty and it made my trip. It was a pleasure to have such a good chat and giggle with someone whilst getting an excellent deep massage. I felt like a new man all day and was ready to nod off to sleep by 3pm! Ask for Betty if you go to Quad, she is absolutely marvellous!

Negative experience: Unfortunately visited as a gift and was embarrassed by how poor it was. Felt more like a public leisure centre than a spa. Facilities were dirty and run down, jacuzzi was broken. An embarrassing waste of money.

Fantastic experience: We had a lovely spa experience today, started off being treated by a lovely lady at reception which then showed us our way to our two course meal, The food was lovely. Drinks how ever are very expensive. One can of Fanta was £3.80!! We then went onto having the best massage I ever had. I had a full body and a facial by Zofshar. She was amazing, made me feel so comfortable, I feel like I’m floating on air. The spa itself is having an upgrade which would be nice to see. Only problem is there are loads of normal chairs around but not many of the cozy lay down ones you would expect at a spa.

Negative experience: AVOID AT ALL COST. If you're looking for a relaxing spa day this place is not it, book somewhere else. Spa can't be called a spa - run down, rusty, smelly, dirty, no music, no hand towels, no drinking water, reception area smelling of cigarettes. Nothing relaxing about the facilities. If you're lucky enough and the weather is good you can try grabbing one of very few loungers outside to lay down BUT it's filthy - cigarette butts, empty plastic bottles, wrappers and cobwebs are everywhere. 'Spa' treatment rooms have no music and therapists don't know what they're doing, massages are not proper massages and are cut short. Beware, therapists can comment on your looks too - multiple times! Afternoon tea at the restaurant was good quality and the restaurant itself looked nice and modern. The only issue is again, the cleanliness, had to ask staff to clean our chairs from the sauce and other substances before sitting down. Hotel and spa managers are afraid to deal with the complaint, being promised a call back multiple times and still waiting.

Negative experience: Extremely overpriced for the service but also the facilities. To start you’re paying £45 for a 25 minute massage which finished early and at times it felt like the masseuse was distracted. The pool and shower facilities need major improvements. There was also no soap in the showers and the drinking water was never replenished despite staff being present. I think there are better alternatives for the price point.

Negative experience: Would never go there again the service was ok clean but the treatments were diabolical I would give no stars if I could facial was awful pedicure was even worse

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful back massage from Rubenilde at the Quad Spa. Aside from being being super friendly and sweet, she’s truly amazing at what she does, she worked wonders on my shoulders and took away all my pain - I highly recommend her. Muito obrigada! :)

Fantastic experience: Antonella Is caring and really sweet Antonella’s experience was very very professional . when you get to the Spa treatment reception you immediately feel relaxed and so welcomed she really does make you relaxed. I deeply hope I see Antonella again. I love how when I needed help she would straight away support me even when I was waiting she would keep checking to see if I needed anything else. The support and the greeting words I can’t think to describe better words for amazing in Antonella’s performance. I love how I felt comfortable in my own skin the time I arrived and when the day ended.

Fantastic experience: I Had a Back, Neck and shoulders massage from Victor, couldn’t have asked for a better massage therapist! Ukrainian method is my new favourite. Would have given more stars if I could!

Negative experience: I hate to leave a bad review but I was very disappointed with the service I received. I think the spa prices at the crowne plaza are very very expensive & I didn’t get what was promised - a scalp massage which was noted as included as part of the luxury pedicure. I would not say my service was worth £69 - I think that’s extortionate and it was far from luxury. The masseuse was nice but the price & service was very below average. I would not say this place is a spa - more side rooms off a swimming pool.

Negative experience: Went here as part of a free Virgin Experience package. Would not pay a penny to use these basic dated leisure centre facilities.

Negative experience: Avoid the place!!! When I joined the club there were no parking space available although in the contract says free parking. I’ve been there a couple of times and had to return home. I was asked to come after 6 pm or after 12 when I could find parking space. I came after 12 but I wasn’t allowed to come with my daughter guest as children were not allowed after 12. Before 12 or after 5 you cannot use the pool as it’s full of children and after you cannot! The staff were not supportive and I would say that they were quite rude and they did not accommodate for the money paid. I am waiting to get my money for the membership back as I haven’t used it as per the contract. Avoid! It gives more stress and unpleasant experience rather than the opposite.

Negative experience: Pool is freezing, jacuzzi is freezing and the changing rooms are in dire need of repairing. Staff is amazing though.

Fantastic experience: This hidden gem was just what was needed - a fabulous place for a quick getaway. Although our voucher app wasn't working, we were quickly slotted in for a 25-minute neck, back, and shoulder massage by a lovely spa receptionist at the 'Quad Wellness & Spa' which was simply *chefs kiss*. Fabulous customer service, super friendly and it was also lovely talking to a spa receptionist, Charlie, for a bit too ☺️ The spa section included a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and pool (lockers included) which were all so refreshing! My masseuse, Iryala, was lovely and had a touch of an actual angel - I literally didn't want my massage to end (my partner said his masseuse, Actem, was also amazing)! The snacks included in the Afternoon Tea date were also so tasty - especially Jasmine Tea and the scones! Overall a beautiful 10/10 experience, all staff were lovely, and I would definately highly recommend for an overnight stay! Thank you again for a brilliant time!

Negative experience: The outdoor spa wasn’t working, the toilets weren’t clean. But the massage was the real problem. The guy has no idea how to massage. It was terrible. Our appointments were moved without notice because the “therapist” was running late. He then did one move, running his hands up my back, at speed over and over. There was no massage at all. He moved at the kind of speed where it’s as if he’s trying to get it finished. There were no techniques or muscle groups massaged. It was like getting a massage from someone who has never given a massage before. He then got the hot stones and ran them along the bones of my spine and not the muscles. Not relaxing in any way. Really uncomfortable. Then he balanced the stones and had to keep swapping them and moving them to stop them falling off. More than once he flung water over me getting the stones out the water bath. He rubbed oil up and down my arms and legs but no massage took place. He squeezed my feet and pulled my toes but again no massage. He asked me to turn over and draped a towel over my head with no warning then knocked my head as he leant over me to move my arms. Awkward and uncomfortable. Just ridiculous. To make matters worse he had sharp uncut nails that caught my skin. My mum had exactly the same issues with him. Then at the end he reeled off a patter of instructions at top speed and left. It was like he had no time or interest in being there. It was truly awful

Negative experience: There is no way the massage should be described as a massage. The so called masseuse had one move which he repeated over and over at top speed. As if he wanted to get it over with. He ran the hot stones repeatedly over my spine and not the muscles. He flung water over me more than once as he got the stones out the water. There was no massage techniques used and no muscle groups massaged. To make matters worse he had uncut sharp nails. It was the worst massage I’ve ever had.

Negative experience: The other bad reviews are spot on about the SPA it’s such a shame I didn’t read them before booking. I booked via BuyAGift for a spa with afternoon tea. Firstly they’re IMPOSSIBLE to get hold on via telephone, they rarely respond to emails - seems more like when they can be bothered they’ll respond. They booked us in for treatments on the wrong date, stated they sent two emails confirmations - never of which I received! They then basically washed their hands of me and my voucher when they didn’t bother to reply back to my cancellation email which was within the timeframe allowed and now won’t rebook us. They have forgotten that the voucher is valid for 12 months - of which will be up in July 2022 it’s now June 2022 by my cancellations that’s still within 12 months! DO NOT BOOK PLEASE! I am now trying to get my £100 back from BuyAGift, hopefully! If not I will be contacting the Ombudsman.

Positive experience: Booked a spa day with my mother, sister and grandmother. They kindly rearranged the day for us as I was medically unwell and we could not attend. The spa staff were friendly and helpful overall. The massage was decent. However I was surprised at the facilities in the spa, they need redoing really and for the price we paid I expected a bit better. The ceiling needs replastering, the water fountains need modernising and the showers felt like being at my local leisure centre. With a revamp it could be really nice. I was also a bit surprised at the pricing for lunch, it was £30 for two courses on a set menu, but the burger i had which was £25 was £15.50 on the general menu? This wasn't explained i think when we were booking the lunch before so think some transparency would be valued as I felt £25 for the halloumi burger was too expensive.

Fantastic experience: Had a fabulous facial with Tatiana today. My skin feels amazing and will definitely be back. She is very knowledgeable and gave me some great tips to maintain my skin. A really enjoyable experience.
