Negative experience: If I could give this a 0 star review I would . Showers are either on hot or freezing cold , completely unacceptable however I have been coming here for 1 and a half and only now they start caring about who goes in, and there’s a 10 space limit so if you haven’t booked then you’ll be chucked out exactly what happened to me, I have rarely booked in the past and the don’t care about who go in there , I also see 12 year olds go in there which is illegal yet they still don’t care and health hazards , floors are soaked and nearly slipped over I bet they don’t read this review or care about it just proves what they are really like. BTW this is about the sauna specifically

Negative experience: Toilets and shower area stink with urine, disabled toilets always in dilapidated condition. If you call them for any urgent information nobody picks up the call. Complained about the condition of the shower rooms couple of times but they don’t care.

Negative experience: Toilets are always out of service, always something in the gym that’s broken and doesn’t get fixed for a number of weeks which shows poor maintenance, water leaks through the ceiling when it rains, air con doesn’t work.

Fantastic experience: Hello I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all involved in my daughter's pool party yesterday 30th November. She had an amazing time. All the staff was very helpful and caring. The party room was much bigger to what I expected. Once again a massive thank you. We will be back next year. All the guests were super impressed too. Negative experience: Both kids were doing great in the swimming lessons but now it’s just not functional disorganised and don’t have enough teachers for two stages! Disappointing

Negative experience: The whole building needs to be refurbished, the ceiling above the pool is constantly leaking. It’s just run down and needs some proper investment.

Negative experience: The gym is fine, affordable and well equipped. On the other hand, management is an absolute disaster. It's not the first time I book a session for cycling but the door is locked and by the time they opened , there's 10 min left of the class/session. Lady at the reception literally has no clue when asked. It's clear that no one cares in here.

Negative experience: Probably one of the worst gyms in the UK. 2024 yet the air conditioning doesnt work, it cant be used due to the "leak" it causes when switched on. Really surprised how health and safety have not shut this place down, when the air con is on in the gym, it leaks and half the flooring is wet with buckets trying to catch the water. Speechless how this place still operates, lets not start on the showers.

Fantastic experience: Went for first time today, old building but pool and changing rooms nice and clean, large pool, comfortable temperature for me, receptionist was helpful. Free swimming for Sutton residents over 60 (need to register on website first) so recommended for seniors wanting to stay fit!

Negative experience: Showers and toilets are very dirty, staff not available when you need, zumba's instructor is very rude, pool water is cold.

Fantastic experience: Great equipment and a big swimming pool, lucky to have it close!

Negative experience: I have been attending swimming lessons with David for a while now, and I must say, he is an exceptional teacher. Whether it's a 1-2-1 or 2-2-1 lesson, David's passion for swimming shines through, and my daughter has truly flourished under his guidance. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their swimming skills. However, while David's teaching is top-notch, I can't say the same about the hygiene standards at the facility. Unfortunately, the toilets and showers are often dirty, and the changing rooms emit an unpleasant odor. It's disheartening to see such a fantastic teaching environment marred by subpar cleanliness. I urge the management team to prioritise hygiene and cleanliness to ensure that the overall experience matches the excellence of the teaching staff. With improved cleanliness, this place would undoubtedly be a five-star facility.

Positive experience: I pay a decent price I enjoy the gym but it seems it’s just in need of some improvements if the council provide some more money I think it could be 10x better it’s clearly old been there since the 30s if I’m not wrong it just needs a bit of clean up new tiles and I think it would attract more people

Negative experience: It is so filthy and dirty. The changing rooms are really dirty and it smells of urine as soon as you step in the changing room. Out of 3 hair dryers, only 1 works. The leisure centre needs a renovation.

Negative experience: Where to start? Sauna: don't look on the Google images as they use a different image. The actual sauna is very small. Up to 6 people can seat. 80C only, wish it was up to 100C. Steam room is the same ( up to 5 people I would say). Came last night and sauna wasn't working. But no information was given while I was booking. They have two showers where you can cool down after using sauna, but only one is working. It's been like this for 3 month!!! Come on, people are quing to use it!!!! Changing room and showers: Dirty, only one hair dryer working, no soap in the shower! You have to pay 20p for a locker. Swimming pool: cold water, sometimes smells with urine. Car park: big holes. So be aware after the rain. Can't leave a feedback on their website, as the page is not working. Conclusion: Can't beleive this is in UK. Very pure standards. Need to invest some money to refurbish the whole place. I would not recommend until then.

Positive experience: It can be more hygiene. Especially for swimming everybody should take shower before entering the pool. None of the staff is taking care of this. No swimming caps are mandatory. So many people are going without shower and caps.

Negative experience: I don't see Receptionist is active and struggling to handle each and every customers. The management of the lesson is very worst and their systems are not working at all most of the times. The swimming pool is temperature is very low and the kids are struggling and most of the time they are getting fever / cold after swamming. There are lot to improve in this Cheam Leisure Centred

Fantastic experience: I was most blown away by the front of house team. They were friendly kind and very helpful. Today a party of 12 children went to play on the inflatable they had a great. My only one criticism would be maybe a bigger and better inflatable. Overall very clean and very organised.

Negative experience: Avoid, you get what you pay for here, in fact, you get less than what you pay for! Equipment always broken, lights or machines not working, weights broken or missing and, the highlight of it all. In the height of summer through to who knows when, the air con has been non existent in the gym, making it very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable, let alone unsafe! The staff do not care, the GM least of all and there is never anyone on the gym floor to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the members.

Negative experience: Showers are ice cold and black mould everywhere absolutely disgusting!!!! buckets collecting water dotted about needs to be shut down and sorted out don’t take young children here should be ashamed to be open!!!

Negative experience: The pool itself is a great size but the cleanliness and maintenance of this leisure centre is very disappointing. The shower areas are disgusting and are not cleaned regularly enough. There is mould in the women’s toilets and shower area. It doesn’t feel safe going barefoot in all honesty. The WHOLE changing area needs refurbishing! The smell of urine while your swimming is wofting from the changing areas which just adds to the delightful swim you can have at Cheam leisure centre. The centre focuses a lot on lessons and the lanes are constantly being condensed or removed to accommodate. Makes it frustrating if you’re lane swimming or in the lane less section as it becomes very busy and crowded. You really have to pick your times right to attend otherwise you might just waste your money and have swimming road rage as people keep cutting everyone up. Only good thing about coming swimming here is the free parking

Negative experience: THEFT AWARENESS I’ve used the facilities for over a month, they had someone stealing from other peoples lockers, staff had no clue what they doing, unhelpful in this situation. People got all their items stolen, beware of your belongings, even with a padlock things have been taken and even moved to other lockers. Gym area looks ok. The swimming pool is the longest you will find with 30m, which is amazing and I truly wish this place was a 5 star. This place needs a proper investment in cleanliness in the pool, sauna and specially the changing rooms, and proper working CCTV. The changing facilities around the pool have lockers operating with 20p, if you want to use the padlock you need to go all the way to the end of the corridor to find those, beware of your belongings here. I totally recommend that you find a pair of flip-flops or those swimming socks that everyone seems to have - the floor is dirty, the whole area in fact stinks and could do with a proper cleaning. I used the Sauna, it was good and spacious, they have a drinking machine in there, which should be connected to a hose for the water to be disposed, but instead the water is coming out of the machine into the floor where people are passing by. The showers in these facilities are good, but unfortunately, they TURN OFF THE HOT WATER ON PURPOSE, also truly unfortunately, the place is full of flies on the walls, ceiling, I never ever ever seen such a thing in many gyms I have attended in the past. I was told on the phone that the place is cleaned regularly but in the time I was around I did not see a single person performing any cleaning of any kind. Now... £29.99 seems a reasonable price, but I honestly would pay more if you could actually have a team of cleaners making sure the place is spot on, which clearly it isn't and I would also prefer to know the place has invested in security. I would have taken photos if this was not a privacy area, but I'm sure you and everyone who attends the facilities know exactly what I'm talking about, because it is impossible not to spot the dozens of flies in the showers, to not smell the bad smell in the changing rooms and to not see that the facilities are dirty. Let me know when you can do better, I'll join when you have pristine facilities.

Negative experience: Changing rooms are in need of a deep clean and in need of repair!! Terrible facilities. Pool is absolutely freezing. Never experienced an indoor pool this cold!! Kids shivering the whole time, had to leave early

Negative experience: Impossible to get a refund and I am very annoyed with this. I decided to cancel my membership 3 days after joining. I called to cancel and emailed an enquiry over confirming cancelation. Was told I need to cancel my direct debit that was setup over the phone, I did not have one shown on my account. £30.99 came out on 18/01/23 when I joined and then another £44.78 came out on 01/02/23 after checking that there was no direct debit attached to my account on 31/01/23. In total I have paid £75.77 for cancelling my membership 3 days after joining. I feel this is unfair and to contact someone who can sort this out is impossible. Quick to get the cash but no one know anything when it comes to getting it back. No one can help in the centre, on the phone or by email. Facilities are horrible, hence the decision to cancel after 3 days.

Negative experience: Walked 25 minutes to make a visit to the health suite to be told sauna opens in an hour and steam room was closed. No information on website about sauna opening times or steam room closure. I wonder how many other people's time you've wasted.

Fantastic experience: Great for a family swim , and the water is not as hot as most places, huge pool easy parking and very cheap entry

Negative experience: Absolutely rubbish customer service, I was waiting for an hour and a half and the guy the reception just said there's nothing he can do and my name wasn't on the system exept I had paid for a month membership online and all the guy did was just eat a chocolate bar and stare at me and my friend as we left - no one's "active" with staff like that.

Negative experience: Signed my son up for junior gym but can never get a booking even for a week in advance. Getting my monthly payments for nothing Will be looking elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Negative experience: Air conditioning never works even in summer, staff are minimum wagies fresh out of school or college with almost no knowledge, the gym space is so tight you’re practically banging heads with the person next to you. But it’s cheap and cheerful so to summarise you get what you pay for.

Negative experience: Have been overcharged, still waiting for a response from someone at Everyone Active headquarters, been told by branch they can’t deal! No contact number just a useless App to try and get a response….come on someone reply to my complaint We take out these gym memberships face to face in centre but when you have an issue/complaint your on you own!

Negative experience: I'm pretty annoyed that they give a phone number, but no one ever picks up! I've called like a dozen times at different times of the day, from 7am to 9pm, but I've never had anyone pick up the phone, it just rings and then cuts you off.

Positive experience: I've swum here since I was a kid and both my children learnt here with the CAWPRA club. Great for a swim. They also have a gym and squash courts though I haven't used these.

Fantastic experience: Guys in there late tonight were unreal. Amazing help when I fainted in a locked changing room, stayed with me while I came round. Got me water and everything. Absolute credit to the company, didn’t get any names sadly but honestly can’t thank you guys enough. Thank you.

Negative experience: Men's changing rooms stinks like an Calcuttun open sewer in high summer. I gag walking in and sauna not available anymore.

Positive experience: The gym has good and modern equipment but divided in small spaces. The coaches for the classes are friendly and helpful. It’s a shame that there are still a lot of virtual classes (using the classes rooms) that are empty and always a waiting list for the ones with the coaches. Please add more evening REAL classes!!!!

Negative experience: I have been a member for over 20 years. In the recent year, staff and management are very rude and unprofessional. There are limited classes. The facilities are poor and somewhat unclean. Poor value for money.

Negative experience: Have been a member for about three months (paying quite a lot for it too) and have to say I feel very ripped off. The steam room has been at a working temperature maybe half of the times we have visited, the main clock and stopwatch in the pool area haven't worked in weeks and the general hygiene of the whole gym is poor. Poor service for the high cost.

Negative experience: I've been this place for over 8 years, and with all the money spent um developing, the hygiene of the establishment is extremely poor, the entire swimming/ sauna / steam room area looks, feels, and smells dirty, staff are amazing but this needs immediate attention!! Members are paying to use this and it's just not improving, please do something

Negative experience: I went and used the gym in Cheam leisure centre the other day and was deeply disappointing compared to the other leisure centre gyms in the borough. - Roof was leaking at the top of a spiral staircase. - Equipment was broken and barriered off. - Free weights damaged and showing sings of wear. The Actual walls seem to be falling apart as well this need improving and fast!

Negative experience: Been really disapponted with the classes of late. Zumba teacher on a Tuesday was excellent but has now been replaced by a new one who is awful. Wedneday teacher is brilliant. Thursday Zumba class has now been cancelled. Parking at this site is just awful as are the changing rooms in the pool area, smells damp. This place has truly gone down hill in my opinion and I have been a member for 17 years!

Positive experience: Always cold in men's changing room - you have to be brave when you finish your swim! Nothing ever gets fixed even if you point out problems to staff e.g. markers dividing lanes. Pool itself usually a reasonable temperature. Not too busy weekday lunchtimes ok for lane swimming.

Negative experience: 8 December: 1 star I was in the water about 5 minutes to swim. Today party comes! Gratulation! Manager game me back the £5 for ticket. But who will come back my 2 hours to come here then home (25 mins by car x2) and to repairing (clothes, shower, price of clothes box etc.), and these uncomfortable moments? Absolutely incorrect team! I can NOT advice you to come here, except you want to waste your time without swimming. Two times = two not-swimming events. November: 4 stars Big traffic, average clarity, good water-temperature. Unfortunatelly, there was not information about school groups periode when guests can't swimming, so it was a short program.

Positive experience: Feels dirty, equipment could do with a refresh and being maintained properly (lat pull down bar detached from pulley whilst using it). The redeeming features are that it's reasonably priced.

Negative experience: Recently went for a Swim and Sauna with a friend . We found that the place to be under maintained and dirty. The showers in both the changing rooms and sauna were awful. I needed the toilet afterwards but decided not to go due to the smell! Would not recommend!

Negative experience: Today I have canceled my account for this old and forgotten center by the responsible Sutton Council. It is a dirty place and they never clean, especially the sauna, or possibly they don't know how to clean, it smells of sweat everywhere inside the leisure center and it is because the facilities are not ventilated. On the floor of the sauna area you can see the rust of some metal furniture from years ago and no one cleans it. The facilities are old and no one cares about them and most of the time they do not work. Being a member of this Leisure Center is a waste of money and time. This center belongs to Sutton Council, they don't know what the word Leisure is, they only charge money and nothing more. That's why I advise choosing another Leisure center.

Fantastic experience: Cheam leisure centre offers a good variety of things to do including using the gym, swimming pool, sauna and or steam room as well as lots of different classes which you can book onto, via their app, seven days in advance from midnight. The classes that I attend are extremely popular and there is always a waitlist to attend. They offer far more than this such as squash and children's parties so go and take a look at their website for full details. Cheam leisure centre has a reasonable sized free car park for visitors to use. If you don't drive, the bus stops in front of the leisure centre which is also very handy. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: Great Aqua Aerobics teacher but place was very dirty and very worn. Could use a refurb and deep clean. Such a shame it's been left like that.

Positive experience: Nice place with a good gym. Not keen on the fact that they let young teens use the gym area unsupervised as they tend to treat it as a place to hang out rather than exercise and it can get annoying during busy times.

Positive experience: Friendly staff, compact but varied little gym and a decent pool. Some popular equipment in the gym requires a wait sometimes, but nothing deal-breaking.

Negative experience: Only had experience of the pool for my sons swimming lessons so my review is based on that. Parking generally not good, often have to park up the road and walk back which would fine if i didnt have to bring a buggy with me as i dont feel the centre is designed with buggies in mind. The Ladies changing room very narrow so not ideal with the buggy, always a mission just to get the the toilet.Changing room and toilet needs a bit of TLC doesnt look very clean but maybe its just a bit old rather than unclean....Always struggle to get a changing cubicle but the group changing room is fine for my son. My sons swimming teacher was not very good compared to the other ones we saw there. He never completed their progress report and didnt look interested at all in teaching. He did get replaced eventually but each subsequent week for 5 weeks was a new teacher so no consistentcy at all so the kids were just doing the same thing each week with no progression. We have now cancelled his lessons there. The memberahip team were always very friendly and reception staff were OK. The entrance looks nice with lots of swimming accessories on sale. Shame there is no cafe. Overall not impressed with this centre. Sad to say i Would not come here to swim with my family i think there are better places around.
