Fantastic experience: Really nice space to train, with a wide range of machines to work on aswell as free weights and classes available, not to mention the pool.

Fantastic experience: When I started my adventure with the gym, I only went to aquafit classes. After a few months, I decided to switch to classes and gyms and it was a good choice. The gym is well equipped and has everything you need to achieve your goals. Classes are conducted very professionally, some more or less demanding, but always in a lovely atmosphere. If you still don't know how and what to exercise, I recommend personal training. Sam, with whom I train, always offers good advice and talk.. He is very nice, helpful and knows what he is doing. Thank you Sam for helping me achieve my goals really appreciate

Fantastic experience: I come to the gym and use the pool. The gym is very well equipped, I've only done one class which was tiring. Joe was on hand to answer my questions as I've only just joined but have used a gym before. The Pool area is fine, the water is warmer than it was many years ago. The staff, Leanne, Joe, Jackie and Chris are great. I'm naming these as they're always on when I check in to the centre. My 5 year old daughter has swimming lessons with Abbie, she is great!

Negative experience: Went 5pm Thursday 3rd October 2024. Did one length in adult lane then was told it was closed for kids lessons. That was 3 lanes closed for lessons and the free space full of kids messing about. Nothing on the website. Ridiculous and at £5 it was an expensive shower!!

Positive experience: Great pool, all refurbished since I last went, clean showers and changing areas, not too busy, £1 needed for the locker which you get back, would recommend

Fantastic experience: Started at Farnworth Leisure Centre Gym around 8 weeks ago after losing 80lb at home but needing to build up my strength and mobility, after being terrified of coming to the gym as a plus size woman Sam has been the most kind, encouraging and positive person to come across he is so kind and helpful. I have met loads of other women in the classes and I have a proper routine now, I never ever thought I would enjoy the gym but I really do now. Thank you so much Sam, you're a star. ✨

Negative experience: Worst leisure centre I have been to. Change policies without notice. Upon cancellations, no return, they want you to buy bloody stuff from their shop onsite, no return.

Negative experience: Where to start, as a kid swimming lessons were great here, but since the “new and improved building” it’s all gone down hill. I turned up at the baths, expecting to go lane swimming early in the morning to avoid children messing around, and due to my age I was refused, I’d been swimming for as long as I can remember, passed lifeguard qualifications, been in competitions etc etc and was still refused, as “they only have one lifeguard on.” Fair enough that it was part of the “rules” and I suspected that it would be , so I had checked the website before hand and there was no mention of age just LANE SWIMMING in bold. I understand the other point of view that adults wouldn’t want children in the pool whilst they wanted to swim peacefully but as I am allowed in less than 4 months I don’t see what a different it makes,. Very disappointed as I grew up using this baths and have seen the dramatic decline of the availability to the younger generation.

Negative experience: worst experience ever we the kids ,, was constantly shouted at by the male life guard,, couldn’t have fun at all .. definitely the worst swimming experience ever ,, i left after 20 minutes then he followed us into changing room ,, i pulled my phone out my bag too check what time it was and he ran over shouting again at me ,, never goin back to this again ,, shocking

Negative experience: Last three times I have been to the gym the equipment has been either really dusty or dirty! Chewing gum, hairs, liquids spilt on equipment. I feel staff should check the equipment every hour as it’s really disgusting. The centre has been refurbished so I expected the cleanliness to be a priority.

Positive experience: Nice place to go on Sundays if you’re bored.my kids really love it and we go on Saturdays and Sundays.

Negative experience: Grubby and attendants just stood at reception counter chatting & drinking coffee, not really helping anyone . Could be better run.

Positive experience: Took granddaughter for her first swimming lesson. She loved it. First time I have been in the building since it was done up very impressive. Car park much improved with one way system in and out.

Positive experience: Not too bad for swimming. Staff who are taking money and bookings on a saturday want firing off no go in them at all. The session is supposed to start on the hour but they are that slow its usually quarter past the hour when you finally get in. Then to make things worse they blow whistle for you to get out 5 minutes early so you are actually losing 20 minutes of your session what a bad set up sort it out please

Negative experience: Unfortunately it was a bad experience for us. I’ve got shouted at for trying to take a floaty for my 2 year old daughter, plus top of that they close the kids section of swimming pools and then forced the kids to go into the adult swimming pool got told to jump In the water wasn’t allowed to use the steps to get in to the water health and safety training need for the staffs and all though the session they was just shouting at people and giving angry faces i would not recommend it for a family day to chill avoid the place and the shower smells like urine.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional staff I’d like to name and shame a person Emily pretty useless member of staff. To be honest managers are tired of their lives so they don’t give a cent about customers problems. They just need money. Period I wouldn’t recommend this at all not to mention cleaning conditions are so poor.

Negative experience: They dont answer the phone as the line says its "busy" and even after when i ring again it says "this persons phone is currently unavailable" the only way to contact them is to physically go there!

Fantastic experience: Refurbished with great equipment, no pressure gym, mix of people of all ages, very good staff.

Negative experience: I registered my daughter for swimming lessons there and she was enrolled for Thursday lessons. She did 3 lessons with three different instructors on 3 different occasions and she was excited already, no issues or complain. I and my wife was really happy with the progress until when I took my daughter for the fourth time, meeting a different (name withheld) instructor, she humiliated my daughter by shouting at her in front of other kids, I felt pained. My daughter went into silent mode for days.. she publicly spoke to me the dad in a derogatory manner when I ask what happened. I put in my complain at the reception but nothing was done. When I got home I told my wife I’m never going back there again, my wife said she’ll try again the next Thursday which she did, to be honest, the same instructor did the same to my wife and daughter. Again! My daughter went into depression mode this time. I was able to manage her emotions and got her out of that. Why should we be treated like that? My family was treated indifferent by the same instructor only God knows why. My family was embarrassed and I’ve forgiven the instructor but I can never forget the horrible memories she left with my daughter.

Fantastic experience: Love the Pilates/yoga class ,

Negative experience: Our daughter Millie had been attending swimming lesson for approximately 3 years, she was moved up to level three approximately 6-8 weeks ago, we were given a slip by the instructor to hand to the front desk and get her booked on a level 3 swimming program, which we did. Last Monday we attended her lesson to find out that due to staff shortages her lesson was cancelled, then we found out that Millie wasn't even booked on for the level 3, yet she had attended and a registrar had been taken.. so why wasn't we told straight away from day one. We were told by the front desk that they would contact us on two occasions yet it was us that phoned them. We're first told there was no vacancies for level 3 then we were given a choice of two other days which weren't convenient. So we said we will cancel the direct debit to which we were told we have to give 30 days notice or get a fine. Well there are no vacancies on a day suitable for us, it was their fault and we have to give 30 days notice... but nothing said about doing the register incorrectly... what would have happened if our 6 year old had drowned. If this error was done to our child how many others have had the same done... avoid swimming lessons here. We are also contacting the councik

Negative experience: First time going here and the changing rooms are disgusting and the showers are filthy me and my father went here today and there was balls of hair on the walls in the showers and the pool is covered in hair aswell don’t recommend

Negative experience: Changing room and showers are filthy especially the showers. The showers smelt like a open sewer. Clumps of hair in the showers. My 2 year old put her hands on the floor and had clumps of other peoples hair all over her. This place really needs a full time attendent who can clean. Been coming every wendsday for over a year and only seen it clean once when the area manager was there.

Positive experience: I have recently been attending one aquafit class a week, and am finding it very helpful as a way of excersizing arthritic knees. The class is held in the small pool, where the water temperature is warm. The staff attending the changing area seem very good at keeping the whole area clean. Staff on the desk are polite and helpful. The only reason I have not given the full 5 stars is is because my husband has been waiting many months far adult swimming classes, and is likely to have to continue to wait for several more months. I have asked one of the managers to put extra adult swimming lessons on, and he said he would look into it. L. C.

Negative experience: Turned up to swim with my 2 year old at 9:15 to be told sessions are on the hour for entrance. At no point anywhere in their information is this stated. Only states family swim is 9-3 on weekends. It's Supposedly not the centre managers responsibility if information for the centre that they manage is correct or not.

Negative experience: gym membership is double of what future fitness is,paltry gym with only basic machines,rude staff,and even if you pay the extra to get out of the contract at anytime they hide the fact you have to give them 30 days notice which means they try to take a month for free.......despite not giving you 30 days notice they are shutting down for 3 month to make some dance studio lmao,just cancel your direct debit and treat anything taken as theft. worst gym ive ever used and ive used many in bolton

Negative experience: Never had a problem with this place until I cancelled my direct debit. Today 23/11/22 at 3.39pm I rang them to let them know I have cancelled my direct debit as my little boy has been missing lessons as he doesn't want to do them anymore, and the woman receptionist who answered the phone told me I can't just cancel the direct debit, I have to give 30 days notice! She was rude and abrupt talking over me when I was trying to tell her I have queried cancelling before now and was never told I had to give 30 days notice before! I think you need to re-train some of your staff to respect what the customer Is saying and not be blunt and abrupt! It's also convenient that you don't have to give notice if your child can't make the lesson but they keep my direct debit and don't refund! Why would I give 30 days notice and pay you more money if my boy hasn't been attending! He has autism and his choices vary constantly on what he wants to do! I can't force him to do his swimming lessons! Extremely disappointed!

Negative experience: *Update* If anything since then they've made it worse and I can't wait to leave because I feel I'm being scammed here. Your pool is too congested. Stop giving sessions off to local swim clubs when your paying customers can't get near the pool already. Great facilities, but they're not for you if you're not a kid. This is a great local swimming pool and gym, but adult swimmers are clearly the lowest priority as during all evening adult swimming sessions, they can expect 2-4 lanes of the pool to be roped off for childrens' lessons, while all the adult swimmers are congested in the middle. The timetable should have more sessions where adults can have full access to the pool. The "learners' pool" off to the side might as well not exist.

Positive experience: Good place to work out 3 of running machines are broken hopefully they will get them fixed

Positive experience: The kids loved it here but a good clean of the changing rooms is needed as they smelt strongly of urine

Negative experience: Great instructors, chris in particular ,he is great with children, the staff needs to work on customer service skills as they come across as rude and unprofessional specially the manager collen.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the aquafit classes! I will be honest though, not all instructors close the privacy curtain so that's very off putting or I would attend every class. I had a call today offering me some gym induction sessions so I can use my membership to its fullest. Jake is a brilliant sometimes grumpy but always Yoda like swimming Instructor!

Negative experience: when my son joined swimming was told my membership I could cancel at anytime and it was more expensive. Then 3months in and I needed to move home was told I have to pay a month in arrears. totally misleading when your staff says something different to the cancellation team very deceptive

Positive experience: Friendly staff, who are usually more than willing to give some tips. But it could be cleaner, particularly the shower and changing cubicles. Pool etiquette seems to be non-existent on the weekends and it would be nice if more lanes were installed on Sunday mornings for those who just want to swim lenghts; it's hard to keep swimming when you have to keep an eye out for parents walking backwards. And that is ignoring those people throwing their kids and encouraging splashing.

Positive experience: I swim regularly here, its great value and staff are friendly. Lockers currently out of use and a few maintenance jobs could be addressed but can't beat it for value.

Fantastic experience: I only use the gym and it's very good having just been refurbished due to covid and plenty brand new exercise machines. 5 out of 5 for me

Positive experience: Some of the reviews have had me in stitches !! Started weight training here 7th of Dec 2020. The gym room itself is clean and has more than enough equipment to do the job. Due to covid, staff regularly come in and wipe down areas, but you're also supplied with sprays to clean/wipe down your machines/weights after use (which you should do regardless of covid anyway !!). I've not been in the swimming area yet, so can't comment. I've not come across this "little Hitler" on reception yet either lol, but the staff I've spoken to upto now on the phone and in person have been very helpful.

Negative experience: Staffed by an angry little hitler, with a 70s hairstyle and an attitude pre-dating the bouffant. Government guidelines don't excuse your pathetic over dramatic ideologies. Went to Worsley pool instead where the staff couldn't be more helpful.

Negative experience: Booked online for myself my partner and my little boy when we arrived was told by a very rude lady on reception "no kids" in a snotty attitude seemed like she judged us before even opening our mouths not professional at all, we had to justify that there was no mention of this on the booking website but she really didn't care just kept saying no kids allowed wont ever be returning here I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. To be spoken to the way she did is disgusting

Negative experience: Farmworth leasure is a rip there sending debt collector to harrass me after telling them my current situation. They put me on a rolling contract. The facilities are outdated and should only be used as either a swimming pool or somewhere you can just burn your money. I really don't reccomend it here. Better gym round the corner

Negative experience: Not happy that my child was forced out of her swimmimg lesson, nothing we did. My child was not registered on the system (which was known by them but not sorted),Even then we had the same time for year now. Turns out the blame is staff not doing their jobs, not a great internet connection. Not just us, other people have had this problem. Now we have to find a different slot while new comers can have our child's place.

Negative experience: It could be a lot cleaner. The showers are rubbish, way too slow, vending machines not working and not enough staff on reception resulting in long queues.
