Archway Leisure Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: Do not recommend if you cannot swim they're going to kick you out even if you're not swimming and the lifeguard themselves can't even swim end and women's changing room children with traumatised because a lady was walking around naked you could see everything I assure you that truly embarrassing and disgusting the water in the swimming pool it's cold as ice so unless you want to be traumatised you can go there
Positive experience: Thomas is an exceptional employee. Better gyms is lucky to have someone like this working in their establishment. His customer service is 2nd to none. He was fantastic at making sure myself and my two children enjoyed our first time at the centre. Nothing but positive things to say about him. Only reason I knocked off a star is because the slide was not working. #GiveThomasARaise
Fantastic experience: I just wanted to say thank you so much for the incredible progress my little boy has made in such a short time with his teacher. At the beginning, I was a bit unsure about the teaching style, but I've seen how effectively the team works with the kids, and the results are amazing. I’m so grateful for the support and care the swimming team has shown. Thank you for everything you do for the kids!"Photo not allowed sorry :) Reception is always kind and helpful and last time I just asked to check for cleaning it was just uncleaning before swimming class. He/She just said Ill will check and this is what a nice to care about customer service.
Negative experience: A once great leisure centre. If it wasn't used by the newly arrived city people it would still be lovely. You know what I mean.
Negative experience: This review is for the swimming pool which I have visited recently. 1 star is given as the pool (walls, tiles all around!) is VERY dirty! To also mention the changing room & toilets (never seen a cleaner there - I have been going for a while). Is anyone from health department visiting this place(?). Please do!! The place is not suitable for kids anymore. It is a lovely place/pool - kids love it, however I do not like to take my child there anymore. Time to time I can find hair in the water..not clean at all. The water has so much chlorine in it; makes my skin so dry. The price is low, costs are hight maybe the reason for this lack of cleanliness but pls put the price up a little if this is what it takes to maintain that place properly. At its current state, I do not recommend it at all! Better - pls do better :-)
Positive experience: Pool very warm and the gym .steam room very good
Negative experience: Very good neighbourhood fitness club. Great equipments and cardio/free weights exercises area. Only cons is the music - too loud upstairs in the stretching. Loudness level is like nightclub but with the issue that often you are obliged to listen full volume to full commercial radio ads while wanting to find some peace, deep breath and stretch. For the rest it's all good :) 2.5 stars out of 5
Negative experience: As an old swimming teacher for this particular hall and for this company and visiting after years later left me in shock. We as swim teachers tried to promote swimming as fun and a life long activity. Before our family swim visit, when I looked on the website for bookings and schedules, there are only certain days which is available for family swim sessions and fun swim/free swim. The whole schedule has turned into a money making scheme with classes. Yes we use to teach classes but it seems to have increased over the years. I miss the old days when you can just pay swim only entrance and swim as you like. Either in lane or just casual water activity. Bring it back!!
Negative experience: Their PTs are great and I’d recommend them but the floors in the men’s changing rooms for the gym are always completely wet and disgusting. Wish they could clean and dry the place more often.
Positive experience: Really hot in changing area and quite uncomfortable. Love the pool but do think there is too much chlorine
Positive experience: Good water features but, like seemingly all Islington Better pools, water and air not warm enough! Speak to Wavelengths in Deptford, however they've managed it, they've got it right. Changing area also a bit cramped. Seemed clean enough, may need a lick of paint in some places. Not sure why making everyone queue out front and give names coming in is necessary, instead of just swiping in up to ten minutes early like most Better centres. Change time could cut into the one hour of swimming time (and the time slot is a bit restrictive too - with a two year old it's ok but I expect that will change as he gets older). But that is the same at all Better pools I've been to (though not all take the half hour breaks to ensure everyone's out).
Positive experience: We visited for the kids pool play session. The session really isn’t long enough at an hour for us personally by the time they let you in and you’ve got all the kids changed etc and the changing rooms were too small, busy and filthy. That being said, my kids love this pool with the wave machine, slide, beach area etc…
Negative experience: Dirty place, swimming pool full of sand, runned down, no hairdryers working, very small & dirty changing rooms, rude, unprofessional lifeguards. Your child requires a swimming test that is only approved by one rude lady lifeguard that has a nasty attitude and no customer service whatsoever, when the test is done she is looking everywhere but at the child doing the test or in the radio, there is no clear instructions of what the child need to do and don't care about what parents have to say (take into consideration the fact that it's my child and I would know if he can or can't swim in the deep end 1.72m deep, my son it's nearly 1.70m). Manager made some extremely lame and useless comments on the situation suggesting that children's life's are more important than and an adult drowning... I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!
Negative experience: Swimming teachers are good with the kids. But not good at keeping the spaces. It’s been almost a year that the pool doesn’t have any hairdryer, and the staff keep saying that new equipment will be put in place next week, but never happens. There are better and more serious facilities around
Positive experience: Decent facility and convenient location. The water fountain doesn't work in the steam room apparently for years.
Fantastic experience: Swimming pool is great but it hasn't changed I was a child.
Positive experience: Staff friendly. Not best of changing facilities for the pool. Daughter unable to find a working hair dryer.
Positive experience: Love the swimming pool, especially for the kids, but the changing rooms need to be much bigger, lack of space makes it challenging when everyone leaves the pool at the same time. I'd also suggest family changing room.
Negative experience: I cannot comment on the centre as a whole, for swimming the pool is far to shallow and has no private showers...excellent for children as a fun pool, but no recommened for more competant swimmers
Positive experience: This is a review of the pool only. Great pool with slide and waterfalls. Waves are hit with kids too. The changing rooms are relatively clean but toilets could do with an update. Staff are nice enough. The swimming lessons they do seem good. My eldest seems very happy with her teacher and is swimming well.
Positive experience: I didn't go there. But my friend told me he would like to go to that Gym because it's look like very clean and there are a lot of facilities! And they have a swimming pool.
Positive experience: We went there for a swimming. It has adult & children section. It has a water slide which is exciting for children. There were two life guards in there. The swimming area is mobile free zone for safeguarding reasons. When you come out from the leisure centre there is McDonald's near by which is a bonus as we were hungry after swimming.
Positive experience: Good place with good vibes !!! bit crowded but good on Thursday and Friday !!!
Fantastic experience: I haven’t been back to this gym for years. But as better gym goes, this is one of the best, it has a really nice vibrant gym, swimming pool and sauna. So good to see such massive improvements.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic swimming lessons this half term. My son was afraid to put his face in the water and after the week of lessons was up his whole head was underwater. Really calm and trusting teaching with clear directions. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: Love this pool, but wish they opened it for swimming earlier on weekdays. Most days it is too late for me to make a booking... Makes no sense not to open a bit earlier...?
Negative experience: The locker room and showers are disgustingly dirty. Most gym equipment is broken or unsafe for use. The staff does not have sufficient knowledge about the rules applicable at beter.uk, which is why they mislead customers. After my official complaints in November, conditions at this gym have not improved to this day.
Negative experience: I can only assume they're aiming to sell off Archway pool at some point because they certainly dont do anything to encourage you to go. 1. Swimming membership now just includes a swim...if you want to use the sauna it'll be £11 extra charge, absolute robbery. Good luck if you want to use it at the weekend because you can't do that either, the entire weekend is dedicated to kids, if you want to swim then you'll have to go elsewhere. 2. The changing rooms are always heated to about 5 million degrees and filthy, water runs down a pipe from the ceiling, black mould, streaky showers etc, it ticks all the boxes 3. The pool itself isn't great, quite often really lacking in basic cleaning The staff are very nice and they take the singular star you can award this place. Very sad. Really they should haul it to the ground and build a proper pool but we all know if it goes, it'll be gone for good.
Negative experience: No rules and poor gym culture. People bringing their bags and stuff to gym instead of using changing rooms lockers, many using their dirty outdoors shoes inside the gym leaving dirt and mess behind them. Leaving dumbbells, weights and other gym equipment wherever they finished their exercises is a normal thing here, no respect for others. Surprisingly no gym staff members care about it. Other than that, gym is nice itself, changing rooms are fine
Negative experience: I had a membership before now cancelled but I have been disgusted by how loose the rules at this centre is regarding sauna not my cup of tea that blonde lady at reception is always unpleasant and is a foul mood I’ve been a long customer at this centre its not the same no more
Positive experience: It's a nice pool but doesn't have a good place to sit and watch the kids from a short distance. The dressing rooms are crowded and not comfortable
Positive experience: The swimming pool is okay, with a slide, but the water is a bit cold. Not sure why they insist on one hour slots and half an hour break in between. But it's still fun to go there
Negative experience: Ok gym but But men should be not watching men training Wednesday night 22/11/2023 mixdraced guy round about 6.30 -730 pm very chatie to men no harm in that but doses seem predator behaviour. ur there to trian.
Negative experience: Giving 1 star because gym is fixed up and working well. However pool and sauna area is absolutely terrible. Changing rooms are dirty, shower is facing a toilet and bins so imagine the view and smell… wood in sauna is rotten, some planks missing and broken, showers leaking, water refill station completely broken and dripping water non-stop, pool is dirty, small massage pool is broken for over a year now… they really don’t care and membership is very expensive for what you get. If god exists, he has forsaken the sauna and swimming pool in Archway Leisure Centre
Fantastic experience: Great to keep yourself. Look after your health it's perfect facilities.
Negative experience: Really disappointed and disgusted. Picture this in your mind …. you’re swimming peacefully, suddenly one of the life guard goes on break, after few minutes she gets back with three blue mop bucket, fill them up with the water DIRECTLY from the swimming pool. The add something looks like washing liquid and start cleaning somewhere near sauna, entry of the swimming area. I don’t know how many breaches of infection prevention control this could represent. I’m not going to mention the small fecal matter found in the male changing room … first and last time.
Positive experience: Things have changed here. They now have a rule that children ten and over have to do a swim test before they are allowed to swim by themselves. They have to do a full lap without stopping. If they fail, then the parents have to go in with them. Oh, and their swimming costume cost £30. If you are not sure of your child's swimming abilities, then make sure you take your costume with you.
Negative experience: Before reading this comment, please bear in mind that this establishment is not like a business from Kensington or Chelsea, so if you dont like a multicultural place , then this place is not for your cup of tea. if you are going there for a family fun day, then you might get annoyed with some people who wear a T-shirt in the pool very multicultural and some people are wearing their traditional outfits (women) Please try not to swollen water at all extremely unhygienic! Some visitors just like to manipulate the environment and take advantage of the situation, they clean their children's noises, etc.in the water! Deep part of the pool edges full of sands.. I don't know why maybe some visitors (swimmers ) walk in with their sandals? Slides are perfect for children's and adults. I asked a member of the staff a slim English man in his late 30.s whys than some men wearing T.shirts and women wearing traditional outfits? Respond was unprofessional. DOES THAT BOTHER YOU? if I was not with my little boy, I would have taught him a good lesson but couldn't. Ps.Most swimmers didn't wash their body pre swimming. And I will never visit this place again.
Negative experience: This was my most horrible swimming experience ever. They made you do a swimming test which “determined” if you was “good” enough to swim. Life guards stared you down if you wasnt a “confident”swimmer! The life guard were vert rude and unprofessional. I felt very uncomfortable!
Negative experience: This was the worst swimming experience of my life. The life guards were extremely rude and unprofessional, one lady had something against me as she was letting my friends swim and not me. She kept staring at me and it made me feel uncomfortable. When i got there, they made us swim a lap on the pool to determine if you are allowed in. My strength is swimming on my back and they wouldnt allow me to do so, only on my front. Im not a strong professional swimmer, i just came to have fun. After a less then 5 failed attempts, they threatened that if i didnt swim a lap without stopping at all or touching my feet to the ground, they would kick me out of the pool. I finally did it and even though i swam a full lap, they didnt let me go in the deep end, which i was basically as tall as, even when i swam a full lap again.
Negative experience: This swimming pool needs to be condemned it's filthy looks like it needs a serious deep clean it's always very miserable looking not what a kid would get excited about. And at £7 .99 it's day light robbery. No wonder parents can't afford family time. And no I didn't pay it was booked for me to go with the grandchildren if I had known before hand we would of went elsewhere. We will not be going back and won't recommend oh also you only get a hour slot for that price
Negative experience: A few months ago, me and my friend went to this swimming pool. After paying and entering, we realized that the jacuzzi was not working. We wanted to use the sauna, and one of the employees there, who I think was from Turkey, rudely told us that now is not the time for the sauna and you have to pay for the sauna, and called us liars. Unfortunately, when entering the pool, there is no catalog or sheet that will explain these to you. I do not recommend this pool to you.
Positive experience: Solid staff, wave machine waves, the flume flooms and the sun even came out. Thanks all involved really
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and patrons. Nice atmosphere. It is a leisure pool rather than an Olympic pool but perfectly suitable for casual lane swimming.
Fantastic experience: very friendly staff! went to use the pool with the slide which was super fun! they also have a lazy river great for families
Negative experience: Tbh Went there today first time I’m fully membership at leisure around uk i pay 65 a month I referred my friend wich was guest in London for a day u can call as a tour or anything manager who’s name kirksy and christina was so awkward and stop us at doing our exercise wich i paid for shame even I want to pay separately again they doesn’t help me ,also I canceled my membership today cus of thise embarrassing situation never go there never deal with rude manager unhelpful, unprofessional, bad attitude
Negative experience: First of all you have to wait outside and queue if you arrive any earlier than 10 minutes before your session. it was pouring with rain today, but we were told to go and sit in McDonald’s or stand outside in the rain. When challenging this arrangement of entrance 10 minutes before the session, we were told it was on the booking information - so we checked - it was not there. I was accused of being rude because I did not want to take 3 Children stand in the rain, nor sit in McDonald’s for 20 minutes. After speaking to the manager, we were permitted to stand in the warm and dry. Many other families were turned away and asked to go and sit in McDonald’s or stand outside in the rain. The attitude and the behaviour from the staff was poor, but one doesn’t know what they have to deal with on a daily basis, but apparently questioning why they behave the way they behave was not a sensible thing to do because we literally had problem after problem. If we can help it we will never come here again - but during the summer holidays or the Easter holidays when there’s very little to do with your children in London and - this pool does have a slide and kids do love it! I guess that’s the way they’re able to treat people, the way they do. If this pool, could please get some customer service training on how to interact with people, it will go along way to making this experience, less stressful and unpleasant. I have to get from one star to rate them. I wouldn’t even give him half a star
Fantastic experience: We went for a swim with the kids. It has a slide and waves. It has a small jacuzzi too. The changing rooms are clean as well as the pool area.
Negative experience: Archway Centre swimming lessons are horrible. the Swimming teachers at the centre are the worst in North London. The service is totally poor. One of the swim teacher's has no manners. Doesn't know how to speak to children. He is yelling all the time. Calling children hey. My son has disability. As a result he is neglected, because the teachers cannot be bothered to teach him. Spoke to management regarding my son's disability and won't provide 121 lessons. They don't try to accommodate his disability needs. They will not provide assistance during lessons. The centre is always short staffed. The teachers have not been trained to teach children with disabilities. Other children in my son's class have stopped coming to lesson because of the poor teaching service. Please do your self a favour and don't take your children to archway leisure centre.
Negative experience: The lifeguards are extremely rude and too strict. They totally ruin the enjoyment of a family swim session by constantly blowing whistles for trivial matters. They have bad attitudes and need retraining. Archway Leisure Centre is to be avoided. Clissold, Highbury and Britannia are far better.
Negative experience: The equipment. Is new but cheap the weights area is pretty small and the sauna / steam rooms are closed all afternoon so you membership is still the same but without the facilities unless you can go when they say , it’s because of the utilities price rise but then again they have increased the membership fees , council run so typical money grab , not offering full services do not increase the fees . Disgusting the way Islington council treat everyone in the borough with utter contempt
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, good value. Shame spa pool closed, guess the energy prices don't help.
Fantastic experience: I joined this gym in May earlier this year, and for the majority of my time coming here I wished I had never got a membership. With the redevelopment though they have properly turned it around. New equipment, a free weights area miles better than the old one; two squat racks and space for dumbbells and deadlifts. I'm hesitant to give a good review cause it's nice having this gym to myself but I think the people working there deserve some recognition after all the bad reviews (which were deserved, the gym used to be basically derelict). Good work. Edit: one comment, get more 5, 2.5 & 1.25 kg weights. There's plenty of 10s and 20s but not enough smaller plates
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs - far too many reasons not to join this failing place It will inevitable close as literally everything about the place is terrible and dysfunctional which is a real shame for the poor guys thst work there - all nice kids, underpaid and overworked
Fantastic experience: I loved the fact the pool wasn't freezing friendly staff and very relaxing one tiny problem changing room a little bit messy
Negative experience: Almost non existent selection of barbell weights, lots of broken and rusty equipment. Saunas and steam room are open only during limited hours, there is maybe 5 exercise mats in the whole gym… Waste of money
Fantastic experience: I’ve been here using the swimming pool, by simply booking a slot for “Swimming for fitness”. I liked the quiet and relaxed atmosphere that I found. Friendly staff members.
Positive experience: Great for kids swimming classes. Very shallow pool, good water slides. Very few cycle parking places available
Positive experience: Staff are super friendly and helpful, only downside for me is that there's no "swim for all" at this site.
Negative experience: It's expensive and very, very dirty. It looks like no one ever cleaned it or took care of it. In the gym there's also a leak from the roof and wet towels to cover the puddle. Smells of mold. Swimming pool is shallow and tiles are as well dirty and stained. There's only one sauna and half of the week is use only for men and other week only for women.
Negative experience: Awful club. Tiny weights section and now it's all flooded. If you're looking for a real gym in Archway/Upper Holloway, look further as this is a rip-off and not worth any money. There are "Better" gyms in the area which are cheaper, open for longer hours and have excellent kit. The gym obviously doesn't even care enough to even fix the leaks from the roof.
Fantastic experience: Archway swimming pool is enjoyable for kids and even adults. It features a small jacuzzi for babies, a deep jacuzzi, a small slide for kids, a gigantic slide and last but not least, waves! I was welcomed on my first time there. It's a really nice swimming pool.
Negative experience: Probably the worst gym in London. The weights section’s been closed for over half a year, the equipments and the whole gym is filthy. Avoid at all costs.
Positive experience: Pros- this gym is inexpensive and has a pool. The gym has all the main equipment types and you can usually get on a treadmill even if busy. Cons - It is run mainly as a youth group for the employees, they are good at chatting to each other but not to customers. If you happen to be there 1 hour before closing time you will experience 'the cleaning'. This is where an employee cleans the floor and all pieces of equipment, with a bucket of the same brown liquid, leaving a slippery soapy residue encrusted with hairs over anything you may want to use! The pool is OK to swim in but is always used for 'family fun' time or swimming lessons, so swimming for fitness is difficult. The rules for not using the gym changing room from the swimming pool are wholly ignored and the staff don't enforce these rules.
Negative experience: The changing room was very dirty. Parking in the area is very limited and expensive (paid £15.30 for 2 hours parking on the road, but it took me 30 min to find a spot to park).
Positive experience: Fun indoor slide, small river rapid, and waves. Good for kids under 10. Small area for swimming (1.7m depth), but if after proper swim the Prince of Wales Road pool is better
Negative experience: I joined this centre mainly to utilise the swimming pool for fitness. You can’t use the swimming pool during the weekends as it’s for family fun swimming only. You can’t use the swimming pool between 3pm till 7pm as it’s for swimming lessons only. Fine, I’ll go during lunchtime. But no, because now during summer holidays it’s for family fun swimming from 10am till 7pm. What about those that work 9-5?! Do I have to go very early in the morning or wait two hours after work?! I understand kids need to have fun, but at this point it’s really unfair. UPDATE 20/09/22 To my delight, I discovered today that now that summer holidays are over, 2/3 lanes are still occupied by swimming lessons during lunch time. I’m no kids hater but I find it funny that Better claims to be there to help improving your mental health. I guess they meant only the mental health of those who aren’t working.
Negative experience: I went swimming, the staff was really rude and unpleasant, never understood me,they asked me to leave because my “mother” wasn’t with me, they didn’t allow me to swim at all,my mother was with my baby brother since he couldn’t swim, they said I can’t swim without her so I had to stay at the shallow end the hole time,to ur not allowed to do anything but swim, you can’t dive etc.it’s a very strict place, at the end they yell at everyone to exit, and I had the worst experience compared to the leisure centres I’ve been to,I won’t be returning back. Don’t waste your time or money in this place, there are more better places Like Britannia leisure centre, it’s way better then this one, because they aren’t rude and it’s not a strict place. Archway leisure centre needs to shut down, this was my first time here and I hated it. I’ve haven’t had any troubles with any leisure centres except this one, it’s also a very dirty place, the pool had literal dirt in it, the staff are really aggressive, they deserve to be fired, they need better rules, this place is strict.it’s not good as it seems online or in pictures.
Negative experience: I’m kind of amazed the weight section still looks like this after months. No reduction in monthly cost. Also the hamstring stretch machine has been broken for over a month and no sign of getting fixed.
Negative experience: We drove 40 miles to come here after checking the website and the website did not state that we needed to book tickets or that they were fully booked, so drove a long way, payed 10 pound for parking to be told that there is no spaces, I think it's ridiculous that the website does not state that there is no spaces or that we needed to book We have now wasted petrol and parking money and to top it off the lady working on reception came a cross very rude and didn't even apologise for the Inconvience that this caused us, won't be coming here again
Positive experience: Love the pool and new look spa area the only issue is men walking into the female changing ingredients on both of my recent visits.
Negative experience: Terrible gym, water come in every time Ryan.. 40 pound for use half gym..
Positive experience: The pool is nice but the staff was very unpleasant. At the end of the time slot they just started to yell on everyone instead of just asking people to get out of the pool and proceed to the showers. It left us with a very bad feeling
Negative experience: When are you planning to fix the problem of flooding?! You cannot keep receiving money and the gym section is closed ! It’s been like that for a long time! Are you going to give us any compensation ?
Negative experience: Water damage has put the entire weights section out of use. No effort to fix it. No responses to email. No compensation. Shocking. Will cancel membership.
Negative experience: Water damages still not fixed after nearly 3months. Reduced capacity/space as a result. None of the bikes were working for several days. No sign of any compensation, reduction in the monthly fee. Appaling. --‐--------------- Update after my last review 3 months ago; nothing has changed. Utter joke. Here are the pics showing the current state of the "gym". I have been very (too?) patient, time to cancel my membership. ---‐-------------- Update 11/2022: I have finally cancelled my membership since the situation has still not improved and I was struggling to find any motivation to go to train in these circumstances. I have joined a new local gym earlier this week; £26.99 instead of £40 for the cheapest memebership at the leisure centre; brand new equipment, much more space, FREE use of the lockers (and they even gave me a lock ) It's a no brainer really.
Positive experience: Family swim was great fun. Kids (9 & 7yo) love the slide, wave machine, water jets and lazy river. Lifeguards are really switched on and more strict than I ever remember (a good thing in my books) so safety seems a high priority here. Staff are helpful in an efficient sort of way which is fair. Changing rooms not super clean but typical of a public pool- bring flip flops!
Positive experience: I use this centre for the Sauna. the main problem is that it get busy because people who does not book the Sauna just turns up and start to use it without any respect for others. Suggestion for the manager : bring back the pass code to enter to the Sauna please.
Positive experience: Kids love it always a good go to on the half term. They have a big slide, the pool is like a beach starts off shallow then gets deeper not too deep, it has a little waterfall u can go under and swim round. Also they have waves and water that shoots out. U have to book online.
Negative experience: was there last Weekend with my children,,We walked into a Changing room but noticed immediately all the sitting changing area (marbles) wet or full of water so obviously after the sessions they don't bother to wipe and clean the areas. Also it was full of Chavs, you have to be careful when you swim or trying to have fun you can easly hurt some disabled children. supervisor of swimming pools staff ,a big headed man (in his 40,s) who is just likes to ordering his young members of staff Also allows beach balls and other items to in to swimming pool WATER WAS COLD!!!!a friend of mine and his daughter had to leave early!sadly can't give less then 1 star, cold ,dirty and over crowded please AVOID!! Update:we given them second chance and visited again for the last time,It was a big massive disaster...2 women in their religious outfits..1 Teenager boy with a t-shirt...1 girl with a T-shirt in the swimming pool After I spoken to a Teenager Member of staff those t-shirts came off but why would you allow them to enter the swimming pool at first place? Those women from head to toe were wearing their religious outfits in the swimming pool water was cold again in the pool and this time WE WON'T GO BACK THERE AGAIN 100% !
Positive experience: It's a clean environment, staffs are helpful and their swimming prices are reasonable.
Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym, swim and sauna facilities at reasonable membership prices
Fantastic experience: I love Paul great instructor for young kids swimming lesson - he does a fantastic job and is very patient - my kid goes every week. thank you
Positive experience: Nice facilities. Gym area not the biggest but decent equipment and nicely spread out. Great people that are willing to help out. Only issue and quite a big one is the hours, I don't understand the reason behind closing so early on the weekends.
Positive experience: You have to pre book your swimming slot on line otherwise no entry. Our slot was only for an hour which was long enough. Only problem is because you all come in together and most all stay the full hour getting a shower or changing cubicle can mean waiting. However the fun swim was fun. My grandchildren enjoyed it
Positive experience: Not too deep and life guards all over, a water fountain thing you can go through. A slide which was open for the whole time. Lots of kids so the waves wasn't very big or powerful, but not sure if that's diffrent at certain times. 2 young women at front desk was very helpful explaining everything to me. Overall fun time =)
Positive experience: Nice staff, equipment at the gym is fine - nothing fancy but perfectly good.
Fantastic experience: Love it.staff are fabulous and gym has plenty of space and equipment.two floors...what more can you ask for...... definitely a place to keep fit...
Positive experience: Clean, well staffed and overall good experience. We went swimming, water could have been a bit warmer.
Positive experience: Swimming pool was nice. Shower was really nice and hot. The changing rooms were packed at once as we all had to queue for almost 15 mnts so we missed the beginning of the session. We didn't get the 1h00 session we paid for because of queing. They made us leave because of swimming lesson. Water was stagnant in some areas in the changing room. Need to be organised better.
Fantastic experience: The kids love coming here because I once broke my toe on the water slide. To be fair it is pretty good with a slide, waterfall type bit and a wave machine, though that last is a bit lame. I have never caught a verucca there. Changing rooms are communal
Fantastic experience: Children attend this leisure centre for swimming lessons every week. Good instructors who mix team sessions with individual one to one. The Children love it. The price for the monthly roll on cost per child is reasonable.
Fantastic experience: My son goes swimming at the Archway Leisure Centre and he has done so much progress. Their prices are very reasonable and the classes might not be small but I feel each child gets petty of attention during the 30min swimming. I highly recommend it.
Negative experience: Since when did you start charging over 3 year olds for swimming? I have a swim card & they still want to charge me for a family swim. This place lacks customer service online. And the new app is terrible!! Onsite staff are great & doesnt reflect in this score.
Fantastic experience: Lovely day with my three nieces and my cousin’s partner. We had a great time. Lifeguards are extra cautious with everyone’s safety which I totally respect and appreciate. Looking forward to the slide opening soon.
Positive experience: Flume is out of order often (not been back in action since lockdown I think). Otherwise a good experience
Positive experience: Not a bad gym but very limited free weight space. Can get very busy.
Fantastic experience: Kids love it, very good swimming pool and traning for kids to swimming. Great staff and helpful team. Always been visiting Our kids love it and enjoy it
Fantastic experience: Very good well run centre strict on rules Cov19 rules very impressive gym and swimming pool. Tidy and neat and hardworking staff u can just see
Negative experience: HONESTLY IT WAS HORRIBLE I don’t recommend going through wat I went through today I don’t even wish it on my worst enemy , I have trauma and strees after today , staff are rude unprofessional and there’s immature adults that get involved when they should be minding their business and losing some weight
