Our comment from FitFit UK about Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre:
Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre, located in Aylesbury, offers a range of facilities perfect for families and individuals alike. The centre is well-known for its extraordinary swimming pools featuring slides, a lazy river, and dedicated areas for young children, making it an exciting destination for family outings.
Positive Highlights:
- Fantastic variety of swimming pools for all ages, including a large adult pool and smaller children's areas.
- Great fun with water slides and a lazy river.
- Friendly and accommodating staff, enhancing the overall experience.
- Reasonable entrance fees and free parking for a limited time.
However, several users have pointed out areas that require improvement:
- Changing rooms often suffer from cleanliness issues, with reports of unpleasant odors and inadequate maintenance.
- Customer service can be inconsistent, with long wait times for assistance.
- Booking system has faced criticism for being user-unfriendly, leading to frustration for visitors.
Overall, Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre provides a great setting for family fun, but visitors are advised to be aware of ongoing cleanliness concerns and booking challenges. With some improvements in these areas, it could truly become a top-tier facility.

Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre: Opinions
Positive experience: If you have a time machine I definitely recommend this place. Make sure you are going at least 20 years back. Back to reality, the place is dated big time. Facilities are ok but mostly for smaller kids. There's also a big swimming pool for adults so not all bad. Ticket prices are acceptable and there is an area where you can get a coffee or a snack. At the end of the day the place is worth visiting with your kids. They will enjoy it a lot, specifically if they are under 10-12 years old. The changing area needs cleaning. Dust is just beyond description.
Positive experience: We went swimming and it was not too bad, the swimming pools with lovely the slides were brilliant. But the biggest issue the biggest issue you can actually have was the changing rooms. Oh my god, they smell like a funky smell, and also, you can see they haven't been cleaned as well it was very off-putting, sadly. The men's toilets all my word how much water can you say on a floor and it was the other variant of water very dirty.
Positive experience: Not as good value as it used to be. Avoid the cafe, and be prepared to pay for parking.
Fantastic experience: There are lots of amazing swimming pools to swim in, and a lot of fantastic flumes. There are 2 main flumes which are really fun, 1 light flume and 1 dark flume. There are also mini slides leading into the current pool with the desert island in the middle. There is also a baby pool which is brilliant for young children. I went to this swimming pool for the first time when I was really young and since then Aqua Vale has been my favourite swimming pool. I find it really exciting when you first go into the swimming pool, even now. It is an amazing swimming pool.
Fantastic experience: The swimming lessons are really good and it's a perfect place for family swim sessions.
Negative experience: Very bad customer service. We cancelled the swimming lesson for my daughter and still getting email about outstanding balance. We always pay our direct debit in advance still we got this and even after speaking to customer care they wouldn't remove those charges and we ended up paying for the monthly charge and so called other fees even we didn't use the facility. Very bad experience and will not use the facility in the future.
Fantastic experience: This place is class I’ll tell you, staff so nice and friendly bit gutted that the young girl with the brown hair and the long eyelashes that used to work on reception no longer works there as she really did brighten everyone’s day but oh well, all the other receptionists are decent too! Also the pool is super fun would reccomend ❤️
Negative experience:
Negative experience: This doesnt deserve a star. We cancelled our service on the app thinking it was cancelled but was told need to call and advance 30 days notice required. On top of it they charge you £15 collection fee. This was a total ripped off! When we signed up we have to pay admin fee also. I wont recommend this to anyone at all.
Negative experience: Doesn't even deserve one star. The toilets in the swim area are genuinely worse than a night club. I will be forwarding on to the council as it's a genuine health hazard. Disgraceful, must be in between managers as I can't imagine going to work and allowing a place I run to be like that
Positive experience: This place is great for the kids on a rainy day, plenty for them to do. They have a lazy river, 2 slides, small pool for the little kids and a big pool for capable swimmers. It has a nice cafe too which is very reasonably priced. I would have given it 5 stars but its a bit dated and they hygiene is something that needs a lot more attention, the smell of the toilet was very over powering when getting changed so take a nose peg.
Fantastic experience: Great pool for the kids, lots of slides, lazy river. It's a nice temperature too.
Fantastic experience: Wow what a find! This place needs to be preserved at all.costs. I found the system of booking (and paying) online then queuing up at reception to obtain a wristband very tedious and inefficient the rest of the experience was excellent! Very warm water, loads of jacuzzis dotted around, so much to entertain the whole family. As a 90's child I fondly remember so many places like this which have sadly be refurbished to include only a simple swimming pool (anyone remember Oasis in Swindon or Tropicana in Weston-super-Mare?). I expect their demise was brought on by the cheap charter holidays and budget flights but there is clearly a demand for centres like this because Coral Reef can't cope with an entire nation! We loved everyone who was using the pools today, great atmosphere and the Lifeguard were watching like a hawk but only intervening if necessary (not on an ego trip like so many blowing their whistle every two seconds). We all had so much fun! Very clean changing facilities with plenty of showers and changing facilities. We look forward to returning soon. Ignore the 3.6 stars this place is a firm 5! Excellent value for money too.
Negative experience: Useless never answers the phones tried 5 days over 1 week . Appalling service
Negative experience: We love the swimming pool but the changing rooms are the most disgusting I have ever seen in my life. I complained to the manager who said they don't have cleaning staff on Saturday, that's absolutely crazy. Weekends are the most busiest time for the leisure pool, surely that's when cleaners are required the most. Who's idea was that???
Negative experience: Terrible. I left the gym over 6 months ago, cancelled my direct debit and have been harrassed ever since for a payment of a month which I didn’t even attend the gym. They spam you with emails threatening legal action over a small amount which I don’t even owe them anyway. Makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. Deserve an absolute 0 star rating and I advise you don’t go to this gym and/or don’t allow your children to pay for this gym because they take advantage of the less knowledgeable to fleece funds that are NOT owed to them
Negative experience: Friday 20.30 13/12/24 Went to the counter to pay to go swimming young girl rather sat on her arse drinking and being engrossed in her mobile phone then actually doing her job and serving a customer I don’t really expect anything different these days. I eventually got served after waiting nearly 10 minutes, but not by her by Somebody else who turned up.
Negative experience: My children have attended this centre for one year and have not made any progress. They are often wading, not swimming through shallow water and the information on the website of what they will cover in lessons is not followed. In their current class which they started in August, they did not receive any form of progress report r updates, until I emailed the head office in the middle of November! The swim manager does not act on feedback, either via email or verbally. It is pointless signing up for lessons, as this centre does not follow the swim England policies, despite promoting that they do on their website. In one year my children have progressed by two levels, this is only because my husband and I have questioned why they have been held back when clearly they are capable of far more. As I have had no response from the manager yet again, I have no option but to cancel their swim lessons. Do not waste your time or your money sending your children here!
Negative experience: The worst leisure centre. I wanted a swimming membership here tried to get one for 2 months, no one from the membership team ever called me back. I then cancelled a year later no one would answer the phone to take my cancellation so I went into the centre to cancel but since then I have been hounded by companies on their behalf saying I didn’t give a months notice, which I did. I have been trying to call and email them to resolve this and again no one’s replied. I have left several messages and no one comes back to me. They have now got a debt collector on to me for £40 odd pounds!!! Disgraceful service all round. Changing rooms are dirty and smelly too!
Negative experience: I’ve had an extremely disappointing experience at this leisure centre regarding my daughter's swimming lessons. It's incredibly frustrating that every single time we go, there’s a new trainer. In six months, she hasn’t made any real progress, and each trainer just passes the buck. When I try to ask about her progress, they tell me to check with the reception, and that only leads to generic answers with no specifics about my daughter. It feels like there’s a lack of communication and inconsistency in the teaching staff. Today, I finally decided to cancel both my membership and my daughter's; I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable swimming program.
Fantastic experience: New ownership is great and the gym is equipped with all new equipment. I've been going to the gym for about a year and it was a huge improvement. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: The pool itself is warm is big however the changing room area is absolutely disgusting I have never seeing anything like it. No matter how much we have complained they will not do anything about it. Staff walk around all over the swimming pool with their shoes on without any covers. All the shower rooms drains are covered in hair, congealed toiletries, and lime scale. My son is 4 years old ended up with a pin in his foot that was near the changing room area. Staffs didn’t seem surprised we went back this week made sure my son and I wore flip flops and we saw it happen to another child he was sat down his feet was bleeding. Sadly it’s good value and good session times but the hygiene now and worsening it has made it difficult to feel safe continuing to go with kids.
Positive experience: The center: The center is great plently on offer; Gym Fitness classes Lane swimmimg family swim fun Coffee shop Staff: Staff are friendly, approachable and happy to help. Very knowledgeable about the equipment. PT sessions: The PTs here are great, they are very approachable and open up about their life experiences which helps their clients relate. There is a choice of PTs you can go with and there is a little brief about all of them on the wall so you can read up first to get an idea who is best for you. They are around the gym daily so if youd like to ask them questions first before committing they are happy to oblige.
Fantastic experience: DISCLAIMER: This review is only for the pool Has flumes and lazy river. Does swimming lessons. Has a cafè at the entrance and sells swimwear/toys for swimming at the entrance.
Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience at Aquavale Leisure Centre. When I joined, I was told I could cancel my direct debit through my bank. However, after doing so, I was bombarded with calls and emails demanding the next month’s payment, along with a £15 admin fee. As for the gym itself, the cleaning standards are subpar, and staff presence is minimal. The equipment quality is lacking, seeming more like the cheapest option available. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this gym—there are much better options in the area.
Fantastic experience: Under new management, the Aqua Vale gym is much better than in the past. Well equipped cardio and weights areas, well equipped studio (though a few more dumbbells would be of benefit). The equipment is kept clean and works well. The staff have a friendly, approachable attitude and are happy to assist customers who are unsure with the equipment. All in all, a remarkable improvement since the change of management making a gym visit a lot more bearable! Keep it up.
Fantastic experience: I’ve recently joined aqua vale since anytime fitness was forced to close and I was sceptical about the gym and its facilities. However I have been a member for a couple of months now and I’m really enjoying it! The equipment is top notch and always really clean! I would like to see more plates perhaps and the “studio” end needs to be bigger. There is very little room for landmine work or anything of that type. Other than that, I’m glad I’ve found a good replacement gym.
Fantastic experience: I use the gym regularly and couldn't be happier. A huge range of great quality equipment provide me lots of options for my workouts. The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, helping shape the gym as a welcoming atmosphere to be in. Everything is kept clean and in a good state of repair and I would always recommend the gym to any friends!
Fantastic experience: Great Gym! Beatrice was really great and very helpful as well as Patrick. Great new equipment and very nice and friendly team. Highly recommended
Negative experience: Used to be better. Under More it went downhill. Price increase and less features in the gym. Fewer machines, weights and what they have, is installed in a weird place that hinders access.
Fantastic experience: Took my LG today and she loved the leisure pool, only open weekends and summer holidays so we got lucky as today was last day
Negative experience: Absolute joke to book swimming sessions. Since they moved from everyone active . Is impossible to make booking online ! New app and website is not working ! Constantly asking for details and when it look like is processing then error is showing doing the payment! Definitely you will loose many customers. Changes should improve you business not making harder . Also when you switch to other app you should transfer you current customers! Joke
Fantastic experience: I liked it because it was very good . I quite enjoyed the water slide a lot
Fantastic experience: 1m deep throughout, meaning it's great for kids entry price is really good value and you get a 4 hours free parking from the front desk
Negative experience: The pool is great for kids, but it's a shame it's so poorly cleaned - the changing rooms are a mix of wet, muddy floors and the smell of wee, no wet/dry seperation, rare to see anyone even mop the floor, whilst the pools need a good scrub too. Shame : it could be really great with a little TLC
Fantastic experience: Was skeptical after seeing some of the reviews, but had a great experience (maybe it's the new management?). First off, parking is free! So many people pay for it unnecessarily because the signage doesn't make this clear (I imagine whoever runs the car park doesn't want to lose the extra business). You just walk into the leisure centre and press a button on a little machine, which gives you a ticket go display that's valid for 4 hours. We booked 10 of us online on a Saturday morning a couple of hours before going and had no issues. Happy with the cleanliness and temperature. Our under-3s greatly enjoyed it, as did the 10 year old. When booking online we were somewhat confused by the "zones", but I think that just had to do with timings as it's all one big, connected space.
Fantastic experience: This swimming pool is the best family/ kiddie swimming pool I’ve ever been to. 3 warm kiddie pools plus another that is under a glass roof. There are jacuzzi areas, little slides, places just to splash about or swim. Didn’t do the flumes but there are 2. Life guards were vigilant. Timed entries. Get a parking permit at reception, Changing rooms a bit small but overall this place is great.
Fantastic experience: I had a really fun visit to the leisure pool here. Lazy river and slides are great. Lots to keep kids entertained. Staff were great too. Special mention to Mandie who was super efficient and helpful when I needed to cancel my initial booking and rebook.
Negative experience: Since More took over it’s impossible to contact the centre. Staff don’t have a clue how anything works making the centre almost impossible to use.
Negative experience: Overcharged my final months membership. Wouldn't recommend.
Negative experience: The pool is always dirty and smelly. The gym, they allow kids unsupervised during peak hours and people are queuing to use machines
Negative experience: Website is not easy to use. Tried calling many times yet no answer complete waste of time.
Fantastic experience: Since the changeover to More, the system has been frustrating and I’ve struggled to get issues resolved but popped into the centre today and Niamh was helpful and efficient in sorting the all the issues in a friendly manner. Thank you!
Negative experience: I took my kids and their two friends to this water park that I have been to before once and was quite enjoyable .I payed around £30 for the tickets. When I got to the water park centre it turned out that the booking system has changed and I had accidentally booked lane swimming instead of the water park. The receptionists told us to wait to see if there was a spot for us which was nice of them but it was already around 12:20 and my slot was booked for 12:00-1:00 so I asked to get taken to the lane swimming pool. In the end the kids and I got changed and decided to look at the pool. We looked around the water park and it was empty enough to fill about at least 25 people so how could a few kids and an adult make a change. We went into the water park which was dirty and had murky water in it and got quite rudely kicked out of the pool and got told to go to lane swimming .We went to lane swimming and got told extremely rudely by a lady swimming that the children were not caring about anyone although they were a couple of young kids not even allowed to bring out a small foam float to help my youngest child who could barely touch the ground swim not even mentioning sinking toys. My eldest and her friend decided to swim in the deeper end of the pool where yet another rude person told them alone just to get out of the pool when they were only swimming lengths. I was offended by this and spoke to the life guard who briefly spoke to the man who told my kids to get out of the pool although the lady ran off as soon as she saw we were talking to the lifeguard. Afterwards we were told that as I mentioned before that we were not even allowed to bring out small plain foam floats to help the youngest swim. The kids were disappointed as they wanted a fun swim in the water park or at least a quick splash in the pool let alone an unenjoyable length swimming playdate with getting told by rude people to get out of both the pools .The facilities were unpleasant having no privacy for men/boys and women/girls seeing there was only one changing area which was already filthy . The floors of the changing area were covered in dirt and bits of mud and I found pieces of litter in the changing rooms partly because there were shoes allowed in the changing rooms and the showers were public allowing no privacy to get changed or have a proper shower as in most of the showers were broken . The water in the water park is dusty and murky with dirt floating about and the lane swimming pool had also some dirt on the bottom. I did not enjoy coming here and I do not recommend it as a fun family trip. There are all in all better water parks that I have seen. As well as my youngest finding an empty crisp packet ,a opened grape packet and in the corner a mouldy orange. As well as a Dirty diaper
Negative experience: I went to sign up with my partner but apparently no staff was available to show us around, the staff did not seem interested!
Fantastic experience: This swimming pool is actually excellent it has a outdoor swimming pool. It’s like a green house. 2 slides and a lazy river I really enjoy this pool it is not cold like most pools it is actually surprisingly very warm like a bath especially the outside pool it’s very good
Negative experience: No one tells you if you use the pool car parking is included at the front desk. Got kicked out "lane swimming" even though there was no one in it, as we had a fun swimming ticket, the other pools were super busy bumping into people and kids. Surely swimming means swimming. There was over crowding in the other pools. Not enough changing cubicles. The forced water pool was fun though - managing to get a burst of swimming there. Word of warning for swimming practice for your kids. Go lane swimming. Your kids will just swim the odd stroke on "family" ticket.
Positive experience: Fantastic swimming centre for families, the pools are heated, the children loved the slides, lazy river, outdoor pool, jacuzzi's, and there is even an area for babies and toddlers and some fantastic slides for bigger ones. The staff are very vigilant with lifeguards watching over all areas. Parking was less than £3 and there is a playground right outside. The only issue was the cleanliness of the toilets, so dirty my children refused to go on there even when desperate. The changing rooms could also have done with a clean as could all of the walkways. Still worth it as the children had such a great time.
Negative experience: So overpriced for a mid week fun swim for my four year old, two pools open, but should've just stayed local and gone to a local pool, the only bonus is there's a park right opposite the leisure centre, but I won't be going back now after half of it being shut, sort your prices out it's ridiculous
Negative experience: Turnt up to swim today with my lad who is home schooled. Checked online and says open. Paid £2 parking to enter and be told isn't open during day only certain times and wouldn't refund the wasted £2 and said i didn't have to pay. Which is odd.
Fantastic experience: Good place to go on a weekend with the kids. Busy but not overcrowded. Good price (only £5 for kids) and you get an hour and a half in the pool. Reception staff are really friendly and positive and the changing rooms are clean.
Positive experience: Once I found out it had been taken over and the old website (despite still being live) did not work and had been replaced, booking was easy. I was able to book about 2 hours before we went. Parking is fine, and you can use Ringo. The changing rooms were clean, although they did smell of public toilets. The pool was also clean, which was a relief. The outdoor (covered) bit was nice and warm, the indoor parts were cold. It wasn't too busy either. Overall, it was a pretty good experience
Positive experience: First day of new management. Seems like they might be putting a bit more effort in. If the new team can keep the place clean, and maybe turn up the leisure pool temperature a couple of degrees, this will be a five star venue. The pool it's self is great.
Positive experience: Great for families. Good idea for a day out when weather is not so nice. I would give it 5 stars, if not the freezing showers. We will go again but we will not use the showers. It's not pleasant at all
Negative experience: Woeful. Tried to book swimming for my family - the website shows the available times but asks you to register an account to book, then doesn't actually acknowledge there's a leisure centre in Aylesbury. Same on the app. Tried the old fashioned way by calling reception but after three attempts waiting over ten minutes each time, no one answered. I can only assume their phones make noise when ringing but the amoeba on reception hadn't worked out what to do about it.
Fantastic experience: A great afternoon with my Son and 2 grandaughters at this pool. So many different areas to enjoy and the 1st time I have been here.
Negative experience: I’ve been waiting to speak to someone from ‘front of house’ for about four days now. Does the phone not ring?! I only wanted to amend a booking but that has since long gone, as has any inclination to deal with this centre again.
Negative experience: A company that puts financial gain over disabled customers needs. Hardly any parking spaces for people with disabilities, we couldn't get a space because there were people parked in disabled bays without a badge. We found somewhere to park but got told we'd get a ticket if we parked there. By this point my disabled child was self harming and had soiled them self in the street when we should have been inside enjoying the facilities already, We ended up missing our slot and going home. The general manager (tw*t) refuses to refund us and only offers credit despite being told we won't be going there again. The constant excuse of "tHe CaR pArK iS CoUnCiL pRoPeRtY" gets a bit boring and makes me realize that it's true, you can't argue with stupid unfortunately. Thank goodness online banking refunds for fraudulent services.
Negative experience: Visited during half term, so I understand the pool is busy, and it can get dirty, but OMG, it's filthy! The grime around tiles is disgusting, rusty pipes with crumbling rust into pool, the pool had old wrist bands floating around, in the corners there was some kind of unrecognisable dirt. The changing rooms were disgusting. Lime left just growing on the floor. Balls of hair everywhere. Innadequate amout of private showers (which were filthy) and the public ones were freezing. If you don't want to catch an infection, please avoid this pool. It's a shame as it could be a very nice pool, but the cleanliness let's it down.
Fantastic experience: During our football game yesterday, I had a bad injury so made my way to reception. Patrick and the team did a great and attentive first aid job! The two young ladies (first aiders) ensured that my injuries were treated adequately. They were also attending to a more serious injury, which they handled very well and with care. Dealing with the situation in hand with control and professionalism. Well done and thank you
Positive experience: It's a great swimming pool for a family on any normal day. But they just need to close the swimming pool when galas are on. No parking, no changing facilities as there are too many people.
Negative experience: we were there last Saturday, unfortunately it's terribly dirty, there's dirt on the wslls, toilets everywhere are a tragedy, the smell of urine changing is very dirty... what's going on.... and it was cold and the water in the jacuzzi was cold very bad.....please clean it up!!!!
Negative experience: I loved the swimming facilities here but sadly I will not be returning anytime soon as the pool was covered with black mould. It was vile. There was also a pile of maybe sand / dirt in the corner at the bottom of the pool. Absolutely disgusting. I had seen other reviews saying it’s dirty .. I thought maybe it was an over reaction…? But it’s definitely dirty
Negative experience: In this place the staff is not informed, it is indifferent to its customers, I was very disappointed with the service. I had a bad experience discussing with the Manager didn't even taking me into account. It is very expensive and the hair dryers cost extra many , but unfortunately they are not working!!!! Waste of time and money !!!!! I do not recommend it!!!!!!!!
Positive experience: Good sport center, not too crowded, nice pool, nice leasure pool.
Fantastic experience: Personally i like it! much much better than oasis cleaner and better environment.
Fantastic experience: Max and Dillon have welcomed us very well and had shown us the whole place with patience and answered all of our questions. They made us feel like joining immediately
Negative experience: So everyone active website is atrocious as doesn’t let you book the day you want so gave a random date that I booked thinking it was the day I wanted, turn up and the booking is for another date so I try and get a refund and the rude woman at Aylesbury vale, Jackie was her name was rude and extremely unhelpful and told me I can’t have a refund and that a credit would be put against my name instead…….. what a joke, get your act together everyone active
Fantastic experience: We love it here! There's a pool for everyone - age and ability ! Slides, lazy river, little kids pool, and a standard pool for lane swimming! Definitely recommend for families
Positive experience: The most dirty and disgusting female gym changing room. All 3 showers are covered in hair, congealed toiletries, and lime scale. I really enjoy the fitness classes here and wanted to go to yoga after a spin class so thought I would shower here, never again! Seriously unhygienic and in need a deep clean.
Fantastic experience: Big pool for all ages. Not many people know there is Free 4hrs parking available.
Positive experience: Family had loads of fun but it needs a thorough clean, the tiles were grimey and the slide in the baby pool was really dirty. I tried not to let that ruin our time it would’ve been great if clean
Fantastic experience: Good place with plenty of parking and a good ticket system. Download their app and activities are easy to book and pay for. Then simply turn up and let yourself in with a QR code. We book an hour slot but doesn't seem to matter if you arrive late and leave after your hour has ended. Always clean and tidy, and the swimming is always popular. There's a nice park right next door and also a kids play ground and tennis courts.
Fantastic experience: Great fun place to take young children. Swimming is cheap compared to some other places.
Positive experience: Been before and it was a five star experience. Today, the parking was half suspended, one of the slides and the lanes were closed off, there was a lot of dead skin hanging around in the water and the poolside was grubby. It was very busy too. The booking online system is awful especially if you forget your password. But you can call and book.
Negative experience: Really filthy swimming pool, which I also consider to be quite unsafe. The edges are pretty rough; my husband went to a wild river and returned with a serious scratch on his knee. I doubt we will ever go back. Booking should be definitely easier It's a shame because it has great potential.
Negative experience: Visited on a Sunday afternoon, pool was filthy. Only one slide working and the swim through entrance to glass house area was closed. We thought the whole of that area was closed but apparently there is another entrance. When I enquired at reception I just got told that the receptionists do try to remember to mention it to people but sometimes they forget! It was a nightmare trying to find a cubicle to get changed in as so many people leave all of their belongings in the cubicle instead of getting a locker. I don’t know why there are not signs up telling people to use lockers and staff removing belongings. Out of the free changing rooms one had a used sanitary towel and another one a used nappy. Receptionists could not care less and have zero customer service skills over it all. Won’t ever return.
Positive experience: If you want to go, then go in the morning when the water is clean. By the afternoon people were throwing rubbish (tissue and wristbands) in there and the toilets got disgusting. Same as any other swimming pool, go as early as you can.
Negative experience: 25.50£ for 2 under twos and two adults!! Ridiculous process and prices just to book to go swimming download app, make an account. Make a booking, confirm booking with payment putting card details into app. Why on earth you can’t just turn up and go swimming I’ll never know. To complicated
Negative experience: Wanted to take my 1 year old for his first swim and the staff were useless, provided no help or direction into what times we could swim and how to book places, turned up at 2 and was told to come back at 6 so we’ve waited in Aylesbury for over 4 hours only to be told we could not take him( we live over half an hour away), the member of staff we spoke to was rude and treated me and my family like we were stupid and kept giving my son dirty looks, they need teaching how to provide a half decent service when dealing with people !
Negative experience: Went in the morning and it was absolutely disgusting. Mountains of god knows what in every corner of the pool. Feces smeared all over the bottom of the baby pool in huge patches everywhere. Filthy stairs, filthy changing room floors. I'd say the customer service was poor but you'd actually have to have some for that! The website and app are so awkward and downright unusable a lot of the time. If you can navigate to where you want finally, the page malfunctions. Shame because the actual layout of the pool and what they have there is brilliant for kids. Just need a hazmat suit to attend.
Negative experience: Filthy beyond words. Visits to the pool invariably lead to infections of one type or another. Is the council corrupt? You bet! Plenty hands being greased to keep this going.
Fantastic experience: Really fun pool for our kids 6 & 3yo. Clean. Organised. App is easy to use and book - easily see how many spaces available. Cafe back in action with new menu and lovely staff. Tasty food for all the family, hot lunches, snacks, lollies and ice creams plus good coffee, tea, etc.
Fantastic experience: Excellent.. not so crowded.. too much fun.. friendly staffs.. big thumbs up
Positive experience: We had booked the family waterslides and my kids really enjoyed it especially the lazy river. The staff were also very helpful. I gave a star less because of the cleanliness, the changing rooms were dirty with wrist bands thrown all over the place.
Negative experience: Arrived today a family of three, after a 40min drive with my 7 year old, to be told they were fully booked and they. couldn’t accommodate us.and that we should of booked online. We have been here many times and have never had to book !! The place was empty, and the car park was half full. I left with a very upset 7 year old. Very disappointed
Positive experience: The facilities are drastically improved since the recent change of management. Staff friendlier, water now nice and warm in the leisure pool, booking process better. The leisure pool should be open every day since this is a public facility aimed at improving fitness.
Positive experience: This place was good at best and mediocre at worst. Despite what people are saying I completely disagree but water has plenty enough of chlorine. Everything is mostly clean and staff were very joyous. Pool was actually warmer than most
Negative experience: Pool area could do with a deep clean wrist bands all over the pool and floors. Dirty grime marks all round the pool edges. Only 1 slide working.
Fantastic experience: Lovely and warm, my 4 year old boy loved playing on the ship with slide and going round the lazy river.
Negative experience: A shadow of what it used to be. Pool times constantly get cancelled or removed from the timetable including just this week where it's now evident that Saturday afternoon competition lane swimming has been permanently removed with just 1 time slot left on the schedule. The gym seldom has staff, the toilets and changing rooms are filthy, especially at weekends and by the end of the day during the week. The management team are cowards and are completely useless at their job, complaints of any kind are never taken seriously or even heard and the main lot just hang out like a little clique leaving shift managers to do stuff. Comments or criticism is removed from Facebook because not one of them is adult enough to interact and deal with the underlying issues, easier to delete posts and block people, as I said cowards. Boys pretending to be men. If you want to catch a bug, see soiled nappies and poo in changing rooms or pay over the odds for ever dwindling services then this is the place to go. There are vastly superior gym's withing a 5-10 minute walk of this place, gym's which are fully staffed, have 24 hour access and offer far more equipment. Whilst they do have 2 pools the amount of time available to members is tiny and is getting smaller with each passing year. Lifeguard turnover is huge, very few members of staff stay for long and many speak ill of their current managers.
Positive experience: Well organised. Family friendly. The volume of people meant the cleaners were constantly on the go to keep the changing rooms clean. We had a lovely time
Fantastic experience: Had a great time in the fun pool, two good slides and a good lazy river. The second bit of pool only opened near the end of our session but still had a bit of a swim out there. Will definitely go back. This is the sort of thing we sorely miss in Milton Keynes as the council sold one (which got bulldozed) and bulldozed the other one themselves.
Negative experience: Nice pool but what is the point of having warm water in the pool if than all the shower are freezing cold.On top of that hairdryers works with coins however when I ased the receptionist to change £5 she informed me they works cashless. Onece I informed the receptionist of my disappointment she looked very surprise and told me she would pass on my comment, witch I doubt. Clineless just acceptable but can be improved.
Negative experience: Changing rooms, toilets and pool were dirty. Reception staff grumpy to the point of rude. Pool was too cold. Our 3 year old who was shivering after 20 minutes, even in a wetsuit so we had to leave. The kids pool has a small pool suitable for perhaps up to 18 months (but again, way too cold) and then other areas of the kids pool probably aren't suitable until children are 8 years and above and competent swimmers. Nothing for kids in between.
Negative experience: This place needs a good clean!! If you like swimming in murky water with the occasional discarded wrist band going in your face, this is the place for you. It has so much potential as it’s perfect for families and children, but it would really benefit from closing for a day or two just to give the place a deep clean. Changing rooms and poolside steps/floor were covered in black mould. Oh, and just when you think a nice warm shower will help wash the grime off of your body…… the showers are cold! Not a great experience.
Fantastic experience: Loved it as usual, not been for about 6 months due to my health, I know they have had a refurbishment, new shower tiles , flooring , Quiet tonight , I could swim ♂️ for 1 hour , Staff were friendly, accommodating after mis placing my membership card , received a new one , borrowed and gave back a EA token coin for the locker ..Looking forward to the gym ️♂️ on Sunday , lots of parking available although I park elsewhere
Fantastic experience: I went in today enquiring about my membership etc as my first time and didn't no what to do, and the lady I spoke with behind the desk was absolutely amazing above and beyond, even had time to show me the gym and how the treadmill worked and asked if I'd like to no how anything else worked. I mentioned I was abut self conscious and she really put my mind at ease!! Thank you very much to her. Just wish I got her name so I could include in this review...
Fantastic experience: Great kiddie pool and lots of slides/lazy river fun for older toddlers. Flumes need 110cm
Negative experience: I saw this place pnline as the pool looks really good however they never answer the phone, there's always an excuse when you question why they don't! Customer service is poor. I booked a session online and needed to change the date but instead of a refund they said they would credit my account. When I rang next time to re-book, no one answered! They also charged me for an under 5 year old when online it says under 5s are free. Its a real shame Aqua vale doesn't change there management and she train staff as I had a lot of issues with the buckingham one too with rudeness and just poor customer service.
