Harpenden Leisure Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: This is an awful Gym, i signed up to the You + membership so i get 2 free passes for family and friends. This is a con, you cannot bring the same person twice to the Gym. If you have a small group of friends the passes are useless. When signing up i was thinking of my wife, be nice twice a month to go together. Its a joke of a policy a year membership and my wife could only come once. Another issue is the gym is not very clean, pretty nasty really. The showers are not clean i spotted the same dirt on two different days in the showers. Also to many kids in the gym upstairs after 5.30 when they should be gone. Just a really bad run Gym...Please avoid at all cost... Not worth the money
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and staff
Positive experience: Good facilities for kids' trampolining and the revamped pools are decent, too. Helpful staff on hand, also.
Fantastic experience: Great practice
Negative experience: I attended Harpenden Leisure centre today with my brother and nephew, get some exercise after xmas! We are not members as do not live local but visiting my elderly father. On arrival we we told we could not swim as non members unless we register online before hand. What is the world coming too that we have to register to swim at a pool we would use very rarely!!! How on earth is anyone who may not be computer literate able to use these community services!!
Positive experience: The opening hours are poor as the gym closes at 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The gym is often full to capacity during peak times and the health suite closes as early as 2pm on Sundays (for no real reason!). The cleanliness, in particular in the toilets, leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, not good value for the £43 monthly membership fee.
Positive experience: Harpenden is clean and well maintained. However there are not enough Zumba classes now to satisfy the demand . The WiFi in studio 2 also seems to have issues as our teacher lovely Havva often loses the signal and the music stops interrupting the session
Negative experience: Very rude staff especially Chloe the general manager. Making the experience in the gym that we pay for very unpleasant. I would avoid joining here.
Fantastic experience: Friendly experienced team, I recommend fortis and Pilates alongside the normal gym equipment. Group exercise is great for making friends as well as sharing the “pain”!
Negative experience: Management need to intervene with some of their staff. Exceptionally rude girl on the front desk, very unhelpful and to be honest would make me want to never enter the gym again. Whoever is in charge, please do better.
Negative experience: Nice facilities, however the opening times are not good at all. The opening hours used to be longer pre-covid, but changed during the lockdowns and never went back afterward. You have to plan your day around your gym session, rather than plan your gym session around your day It's a shame because a lot of my friends said they'd go to this gym if the opening times weren't so restrictive, instead they opt for the venues in St Albans which offer more flexibility
Positive experience: Great facilities, friendly staff and good location. Only complaint is about the parking machines inside the facility. One or both are not working most of the time. The machine are dead slow, takes ages to respond, and will test your patience.
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre with helpful staff.
Negative experience: Moved to Harpenden a year and half ago and I have been a member since then, if there was any other gym available in Harpenden I would go to it because this one is poor. The class quality is rubbish. Yoga, pilates, body pump in particular. The classes seem to only cater to much much older people who are not looking to be challenged by exercise. There is one spin class that is worth going to at 6pm on a Monday but the screens have been broken for months so you are only able to track progress by using an app. The centre used to have virtual spin classes but as the screens do not work this can no longer happen. There is Fortis available but it is nearly impossible to secure a place - presumably because members recognise that these classes are the only ones worth going to. The timings of them are also incredibly inconvenient for normal working hours. The centre is frequently full of teenagers messing around on the equipment with no regulation. The staff do not intervene when they are riding on the machines, the staff are also rude and don't seem to care about the issues - when the water fountains break for example There is also no reliable WIFI - so if you have your work out on an app or you want to use the Pelotons - you can't! The machines are find but since they've doubled the price in the year I moved here that's pretty much bare minimum Apparently the centre is no longer council owned so this is EA not putting any effort into the gym - it's a shame because I have been a member of other centres which were great. This one is just a bad experience.
Negative experience: Play badminton here regularly. Good to have so many courts. However, the floor in there is absolutely filthy, with caked on mud and other dirt. Clearly not cleaned at all, let alone regularly. No ventilation in the courts, or in the gents changing room, with quite a pathetic mirror too. Parking always a nightmare.
Negative experience: A very undesirable place to workout. Prices recently rose from £34.99 to £42.99 for the standard adult gym-access membership. For this, you get nothing extra in services. The gym is chaotic, mostly filled with groups of teenagers who flock there. You simply can not work out after 5pm, the place is rammed full. There is not enough equipment and no traffic/crowd management. It doesn’t help this is the only gym in the area. If you do manage to squeeze in, the general demeanour of the ‘everyday Harpenden gym-goer’ is very unhygienic and lacking in general gym etiquette. Plates and weights thrown about, machines ‘reserved’, people holding conversations around equipment when they should be working out or moving aside so someone else can use the equipment, etc. The staff are also incredibly unwelcoming. I’ve never been to a gym where I walk past reception without a friendly ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’ being reciprocated. Here, the best I get is blanked or an eye roll. This is the only EA I’ve ever worked out in, and it’s an absolute disaster. Council run, and it shows. It’s little more than a school-gym, and given the clientele it also caters to teenagers too. Avoid like the plague. Get some weights and workout, uninterrupted or un-intimidated, at home. I did, 6 months ago, and I’ve not looked back.
Negative experience: By far, the worst customer experience I have ever had! Manipulative staff and sneaky management!! Rude, unhelpful and racist!! It used to be great place but has gone sour ever since the current management took over!!!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic service
Positive experience: I like going swimming here with my kids, but staff members are always hit and miss, sometimes there will be the nice people other time, like today (11/08) there a certain people that look like they are just there to get paid.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities and friendly staff
Negative experience: So bad the pool was shut and they didn’t even tell us like what the hell I hate this sports center so much it’s so so so bad please don’t go here
Negative experience: Possibly the worst gym in my entire experience, I only go here cause there’s nowhere else in town where I can just use the gym (lots instructed classes and stuff). Crowded, small, under equipped and most importantly lacks any form of gym etiquette. This lack of etiquette is also encouraged by the PTs at the gym behaving in the same manner - they go around leaving their phones, water bottles and towels on equipment to “pre-book” it, when they are in another machine. They encourage people to be in your way mid lift, to get what they need (leading to potential injury to yourself or the other person) etc etc. Just a terrible gym, can’t wait to leave this town just cause I’ll get to change gyms. Disgusting. By the way, this is not a reflection on all the Everyone Active gyms - just last week I trained in the Hucknall Leisure Centre (also EA) and had a great experience, friendly staff, excellent equipment, just all in all 5 star.
Negative experience: "Question for the Management Team: Are you happy to see someone in danger or breaking instructions?” I had such a bad experience at Everyone Active Leisure Harpenden Centre. I attended the last swimming session at 20:00 on Tuesday evening with my two young daughters, who are beginner swimmers. During this session, the pool was not busy, with only two other people in the slow lane. My daughters stayed in the shallow end of the pool, where they felt comfortable and safe, and did not disrupt any other swimmers. The lifeguard and manager, Adrian, were very rude and insisted my girls swim from the shallow end to the deep end in a circular pattern. I explained that my girls can't swim in the deep end, but Adrian still demanded we follow the instructions or leave the pool. It felt more like a military camp than a leisure centre. While I understand the importance of following pool rules, there should be some flexibility, especially when the pool is not crowded, and safety is not compromised. My daughters were merely practicing in a safe corner and posed no inconvenience to others. Adrian’s lack of empathy and rigid enforcement of rules ruined our experience and left my daughters feeling unwelcome and upset. They have expressed that they do not want to return to the centre because of this encounter. ^^^ NOT recommend.
Fantastic experience: Lovely swimming pool!!
Fantastic experience: I love the classes here - the instructors all have their own style and are all very motivating and helpful. Instructor Kay is fantastic- her LBT class is so fun and also pretty full-on and Kay has a way of getting the absolute most out of you. It's like a combination of being at a party and training for the marines!
Fantastic experience: Clean and friendly staff… great swimming lessons for the kids
Positive experience: Love the facilities. Professional helpful staff. Well maintained. Good client base: professional educated people, families, etc.
Negative experience: My only issue is , the gym has zero system Of keeping the free weights in order , it’s always chaos trying to find any plates , and very few customers help , as they just leave the weights all Over the place , mostly because a working system doesn’t exist
Fantastic experience: Very disappointed. I went along to use the boxing bag. Paid £12.50, goes upstairs to the gym and one of the staff told me that the boxing bag was not there any more as the strap holding it had broken. She said just get a refund. I went back to the main desk about five minutes later and asked if I could get a refund, I was told I couldn't, I said I only came in to use the bag but it's not there anymore so can I get a refund as I haven't used any equipment. I asked for the manager and she told me the same, I was thinking if they can take it off the card they could pay it back in on the card, but no. I said OK where or who can I contact to get my money back. She starting talking but I couldnt hear what she was saying so I asked if she could write it down for me. She then said I'm trying to tell you, I said I'm hard of hearing and I can't make out what your saying. I asked why she was being obnoxious towards me as I'm only trying to get a refund. I thought that she had absolutely no interest in me at all. I told her her again she was being obnoxious but it fell on dear ears. She wrote their Web site out on a piece of paper. I threw the card they gave me onto the desk but it slid onto the floor which didn't go down to well. Then I moved my hand and I knocked a sign onto the floor which was an accident. Well that was it she then said to me I'm calling the police. I said carry on. Then she reverted to do you want this, I asked her again why she was being obnoxious with me and rude, as there was no need for the attitude she had right from the beginning. I had a feeling that I was going to have a problem when I asked for a refund and I was right They were not interested in the slightest. Right from the start she was adament that I was not going to get my money. They could have put it back on my card in two minutes without any problems. I was just an inconvenience and I had the cheek to ask for a refund. Needless to say I won't be going anywhere near the place anytime soon.
Positive experience: Really impressed with the fitness classes and the instructors at Everyone Active Harpenden really first class however the facility is being really let down by the booking system. The basic membership allows booking up to 7 days in advance and the Silver level members who pay an extra fee can book up to 14 days in advance this has resulted in 7 day members virtually unable to book onto any classes as they have been reserved 2 weeks in advance. This has resulted in more and more members upgrading to Silver level and making booking even worse and management are not making any effort to resolve this issue. Be very aware of this issue before deciding to join Everyone Active.
Fantastic experience: Really good value gym
Positive experience: Not many evening classes
Fantastic experience: Nice and clean. Friendly.
Negative experience: Greedy with parking charges and cover the card slot up so you are forced to use the app
Positive experience: Good Pilates class.
Fantastic experience: Very clean, up to date equipment and helpful staff
Fantastic experience: For badminton it's beautiful
Fantastic experience: All staff are very friendly and welcoming. The Classes I have taken part in (there’s been quite a lot)are well run and fun to part of.E A Cycle, body conditioning Fortis to name a few. I’m loving the Fortis classes sweat buckets and feel I’ve worked hard. Great motivation and it’s only 30 minutes and done! Thank you all for the encouragement, support, smiles and laughter. 1 Happy Member
Fantastic experience: I personally think this place is amazing! The changing facilities are great for families, we swimming as a family of 5 every Sunday. I use the gym 4-5 times a week and absolutely love the fortis classes!! Staff are amazing too! Can’t fault the place!!
Negative experience: Virtually impossible to book on a class, especially Body Pump. They should put more classes on at the evenings weekends and lunchtime or limit the membership. It’s the same for juniors and they recently limited what juniors can do in the gym. And junior membership is almost the same as adult. Greedy company with bad management.
Fantastic experience: Come here for classes, swimming, badminton and the gym. Two hrs free parking for members. Carpark busy, especially Saturday, due to football, Tots Rugby and Tennis and shoppers! Cafe too in a lovely big park with playground and skate park.
Negative experience: I really don’t find it nice that on days when they close earlier (2pm) due to holidays, they don’t have any discount for a daily pass. I arrived at 1:10pm and I asked a lady with blond hair if I use only gym for 30-40 min (since it is closing earlier than normal) if I could get a discount. She said that it is not possible and I would have to pay the same - 12 pounds. What’s the sense of paying the same 12 pounds during the day when I can use the gym whole day and during the holiday (the last day of the year btw) when I can use it only few hours (in my case, not even one hour)? At least the last day of the year they could make someone happy. Also, when you apply for the membership in the gym, you have to accept that in case you don’t know how to use some of machines, you will ask a worker. Few times I couldn’t find any worker, and once I found one, she didn’t know how to use it (another personal trainer sent me to ask this specific worker). Disappointing, altogether.
Fantastic experience: Best leisure centre going
Positive experience: Good modern facilities
Positive experience: Good service, cafe and sporting facilities. Upgraded in 2020.
Negative experience: I've heard a lot of people complaining about some staff’s manner, and I thought I'd never come across it until today. My ten-year-old son was deeply disturbed by the unprofessional behavior displayed by one of the lifeguards. I am extremely upset about the way the lifeguard had treated my son who felt so scared, frustrated, and reluctant to carry on any swimming activity there.
Fantastic experience: Daughter really enjoys coming here for her swimming lessons. Instructors seem really good with the kids too. Disappointed that Tony isn't there anymore. Would highly recommend bringing your kids swimming here.
Positive experience: A lovely local sports centre, is generally clean and staff are nice. Has a fully kitted gym, good wash facilities and changing rooms.
Fantastic experience: Good swim instructors
Fantastic experience: Really good pool. Clean reception and changing rooms. Friendly staff. Busy little coffee shop on exit.
Fantastic experience: First time at the leisure centre and using the main pool. It was spotless and a brilliant experience. Parked easily. Will definitely be going again
Fantastic experience: Nice and modern facilities. Clean toilets, café and just by a lovely park.
Fantastic experience: We had such a lovely experience coming here today. It's the first time we've been since the new part of the building had reopened (so a few years) James, the duty manager couldn't of been more helpful with the needs of my son. The swimming pool has a hoisted chair to get into the pool. The disabled changing room was fantastic and had everything we needed, including a separate shower room if needed with a seat to the wall and a curtain all the way around it for privacy. The disabled changing room had a profiling bed with waterproof top, hoist, screen, sink and a toilet with ample space. Anyone with a physical disability could happily go swimming here with their carers. Montys had a nice range of food and a good selection of drinks for after our swim. There is a lovely scooter/skate park outside too and lots of open green space. I would highly recommend a visit here.
Fantastic experience: Um parque enorme, com muitas atrações para todos, adultos e crianças. Tem estrutura para diversão, esportes e alimentação. Localizado na região central da cidade.
Fantastic experience: Divertido garantida pra crianças e adolescentes,, espaço pra dogs curtirem também good!!
Fantastic experience: Great venue for sports and gym also had a small coffee shop onsite
Positive experience: Beautiful place however the toddlers pool was closed, children were cold(we won't told and about a pool leaking!!!). We had to leave as my grand had blue lips after 40 minutes. There is no signs to the swimming pool changing rooms so we obviously taken the first ones seen!
Positive experience: Good gym, pool, sauna and cold showers. It would be nice if there was a cold shower in the sauna area. I have asked for this a number of times but the best they can do is a tepid one.
Positive experience: Would need a better improvement on cleaning overall areas: GYM, POOL & MALE CHANGING ROOMS! I’ll add photographs if necessary!
Positive experience: Good gym but needs more bench presses and squat racks, as well as a hack squat.
Fantastic experience: Excellent leisure centre. A large decent gym, lots of different classes (both instructor led and virtual), two pools, racquet sports court, and the membership fee is great value. Instructors and staff are all brilliant. Harpenden is really lucky to have this place.
Positive experience: The children’s swim classes are of a reasonable standard. The instructors seem quite young and inexperienced but my children seem to enjoy the classes. The facilities are good, though as others have pointed out the cleanliness is appalling. We’ve reported excrement on the toilet floors to the staff that still hadn’t been cleaned up 30 minutes later and more generally I don’t ever recall having seen an area being cleaned during the day despite coming most weeks for a year. One older male staff member can be very rude and aggressive with customers
Negative experience: Disappointed to be asked to leave at 2:30 today when website clearly states it closes at 18:00 - update your website regularly please
Positive experience: No internet, no connexion it’s frustrating for 39 pounds a month
Negative experience: If you’re looking for a place that is unwelcoming to people with even minor disabilities, employs swimming coaches who verbally to attack customers and bully anyone to tears and a place that gives NO support or kindness to long time local Harpenden residents, then by all means go here. All I can say is- other than the kind Matthew at reception, and a male staffer (who might have been the manager) my first attempt to use MY local pool as a 20+ year Harpenden resident was my LAST. After 3 years, recovering from partial paralysis, all I was trying to do was initiate efforts to get back into swimming. (I have neurological condition that gave me permanent nerve damage to my legs- and my neurologist recommended walking in a pool before swimming.) I can swim but currently can’t feel my legs well, so am nervous about swimming even in the slow lane. I asked to access the shallow pool for 10 min in order to regain my confidence to then perhaps join the swim lanes, and was told to ask the small pool lifeguard if that’d be okay for 10 min…. but instead on my way into speak with him, I was verbally abused by an elderly male swimming coach (with no students at the time) who acted as though he owned the training pool, if not the entire facility. ‘You can’t go in there! ‘ he yelled at me. He was disproportionately angry and aggressive and ignored the fact that I had already received the ‘ok’ from desk staff and other lifeguards to ask to briefly use the shallow pool if it was okay with the lifeguard. But even the lifeguard was afraid of this coach…and so he was paralysed with indecision and didn’t respond. I felt punished for being considerate as I tried to communicate clearly with the staff regarding my small request, and needs. Instead, I was bullied and discriminated against and made to feel SO unwelcome I just went back into lockers to leave as quickly as possible. My first attempt to get back into exercise (after a serious health scare)on a cold winter evening was a horrible horrible experience.
Negative experience: The only gym where you have to turn on the machine in the morning yourself! Pool changing rooms are filthy the floor the sauna is also not cleaned and you can clearly see body fat and hair.. cleaning is a massive issue at this place. It’s a new Building & due to the staff AGAIN it will just get ruined. The main pool is freezing and not suitable for kids. Feeback seems to fall on deaf ears.
Negative experience: Absolutely abysmal experience. As a full time working adult, I was surprised to say the least when a member of staff introduced herself charmingly by saying "What do you think you're doing?". If I were, for example attempting to raid the counter, I would have expected this response. However, since I was doing what seemed like the most common act of scanning my membership card, I did not. This lovely encounter continued with the 2nd line of questioning (as well as the 2nd sentence in general) of "How old are you?" I'm not sure when this became a polite question to ask but personally for me, I was taken aback. The rest of this conversation was almost entirely her speaking to herself about my membership payment issues concerning the ins and outs of admin problems, not one sentence that sounded even remotely apologetic. After a 5 minute waste of time for me, I assumed the horror would be over. The gym session followed by the cleanliness of the building, I can't fault it. Unfortunately, I had thought the worst was over. As I was exiting the building, it was clear the cleaners were blocking the revolving bars and the entrance gate would have to be opened. Instead of keeping it open for me after opening them for the people in front, I stand behind the glass door, watching it close, like a sheep being herded. I was not expecting to have an experience that usually gives me endorphins become one where I'm humiliated and angered by an old lady. For anyone who hasn't yet gotten a membership here, I would highly recommend spending the extra time and money on fuel to go to another gym. unless, instead of exercising, you would like to feel like a combination of being a teenager and being inside a courthouse. Not once in my life have I written a negative review but this tipped me over. Being someone who isn't asked to be respected, or even acknowledged, I am truly disgusted.
Positive experience: I am enjoying good facilities and well equiped Gym. I enjoy lane swimming which is very easy to book online.
Fantastic experience: I found harpenden sports Centre, a well organised place. staff went beyond their job description. very helpful and great facilities. thanks guys
Fantastic experience: Nice gym. Clean & friendly. Great classes at good times. Gets busy.
Fantastic experience: Nice pool
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love the kids pool here. Really clean facilities and great selection of pool toys for the little ones
Negative experience: The updated facilities are great but they continue to have the same old problems - they use an aggressive direct debit service and 1life takes no responsibility for their actions - e.g.they take money when they shouldn't, penalise you instantly for a failed direct debits and don't cancel your payments when you have ceased membership. If you try and call 1life to resolve it - forget it. They never pick up their phones. If you want to fix a problem you have to physically go into the centre. All round big fat zero for customer service. Why they can't handle their own payments or choose a direct debit company that doesn't act like a loan shark is beyond me.
Negative experience: The leisure centre itself is excellent but the service and maintenance is appalling. I didn’t have a good experience with a class I booked due to an unprofessional instructor. I raised this with the manager Mathew and he said he would pass this onto Delia the manager who deals with the Yoga instructors. He took my number and she didn’t bother to call back despite mentioning to him that I would like a call back. I sent her an email and she was just apologetic but still dismissive about the behaviour of the instructor. I find it highly unprofessional that she didn’t even bother to call back to discuss the issue as per my request. More than a few times I’ve noticed the gym bins are full and this is during the morning of the day when it’s not very busy . I’ve then had to mention it to a staff member for it to be emptied( when I manage to actually find a staff member on the gym floor). The cleaning spray had run out this morning and had to mention to refill those too. Not sure why they can’t just do these very basic things without being asked. On the banners around the cafeteria area they are advertising Carte Dor ice cream when they don’t even sell it? Why on earth are they advertising products that they don’t even sell? I also noticed the bin next to the pay machines were absolutely full and spilling over with rubbish. After calling St Albans council I was told this bin was the responsibility of the Harpenden Leisure Centre. It really shows the incompetency of the people working there.
Positive experience: Lovely facilities however no options for people the work for weight resistance type Morning classes. That’s why people are going to other gyms.
Positive experience: Pool itself is nice! The building is lovely and the changing rooms are normally always clean! Only downside is the staff not being as competent as they probably could be. One time was trying to get through to their phone and spent over an hour trying but no one answered, so maybe don't bother calling, email instead as the manager replied in 5 mins. .
Fantastic experience: I was sceptical of joining such a large club, however I have attended frequently during peak times and have found that it is not too busy at all. There is a good atmosphere, but I am always able to access what I need. I have had no problem booking classes - I am able to regularly attend the same 3 classes every week.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoying modern well equipped gym and excellent swimming pool
Fantastic experience: Feel really lucky to have such a great new leisure centre on my doorstep with wide range of facilities and free parking. Love the ease of booking my lane swim on the 1Life app and being able to turn up at the spacious new gym and always find plenty of space. Have always found someone to ask for help too when unsure of new machines.
Fantastic experience: Glute kickback machine and hyperextension bench needed
Fantastic experience: The gym is clean, spacious and well maintained Nice atmosphere and very welcoming
Negative experience: Staff need a smile
Positive experience: Gym is great plenty of equipment nice and clean but the music is horrendous like being stuck in a lift
Fantastic experience: I find harpenden leisure centre very professional and extremely good fitness centre
Fantastic experience: The gym has revolutionised the way it has revamped itself. It has a wonderful atmosphere and has fantastic Equiptment. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Positive experience: Much improved facilities since the refurb. Everything you need from a gym perspective and the pool is good too. The membership would be a bit better if more classes were on offer but can't fault it in any other sense.
Positive experience: Great gym and swimming facilities. Due to it being new still, I think they are constantly adding more equipment and improving. Although the phone lines can be slow and confusing. Staff are generally welcoming and the yoga and pilates classes are great!
Fantastic experience: Great club. The ability to actually have lane swimming in the evening is a massive bonus. My local pool (Inspire) seem to not care about general swimming. Harpenden makes me feel like a wanted member not just a number. The gym is extensive a rather surprising how big it is. Think they borrowed Doctor Who’s Tardis. The only thing I would like to see is a vending machine for drinks as the cafe is closed in the evenings.
Positive experience: The gym is nice, clean, equipment is good. Some of reception stuff not polite.
Negative experience: Well priced but poor layout. No mirrors in the free weights area to work on form. Not enough leg machines or cable machines. Always having to wait to use equipment. For a new gym they could of done so much better. Disappointed!
Positive experience: New and clean, large, modern sports facilities
Negative experience: Very poor advertising of junior hours. Can’t know unless you turn up
Negative experience: Too many 13 year olds messing around with the weight equipment and hogging the machines that proper adults need to use
Negative experience: I have to edit my original post. Since the take over there has been poor customer service from new managers in charge… Showers are mouldy, wet facilities filthy! They are re doing a perfectly good gym though… I wonder why! Try just keeping the place clean and giving a good service first.
Negative experience: Phoned 11 times today and got no answer. It just rings and rings. I was only ringing because I can’t book swimming on the app on any day for the learner pool.
Negative experience: Please we need more staff at the reception , always a long queues with a one staff serving.
Positive experience: As someone previously said the gym is bright, clean and new which is very good. However the customer service needs a lot of work, it is impossible to book a class and the app, to do so, often doesn't work. The staff in the gym are never present, nor interested really in helping anyone out, so you have to design your own program because you won't get into a class nor will a member of staff help you. Spotting a member of staff on the gym floor is a rare sight to see! As for swimming I don't think they yet know, after a few months, what is going on in terms of general swim and swims for families. Every-time we ask at the front desk there isn't a clear answer. So the gym building and facilities is 5/5 but the customer service is 2/5 but I'm sure improvements will be made over time.
Fantastic experience: Great new gym
Positive experience: Lovely swimming pool and good facilities. It is very hard to book classes which is a shame. However, enjoying the centre and what it offers!
Positive experience: Good gym, agree with someone else who said could do with more mirrors on wall, lots of sanitising stations. People tend not to take weights off of machines and as a women sometimes it’s a workout in itself taking them off!
