Britannia Hotel Newcastle Airport: Opinions

Fantastic experience: TL;DR: Britannia Hotel near Newcastle Airport is a convenient, walkable stay with cozy rooms, a relaxing bar, and a satisfying breakfast buffet. Britannia is a solid choice for a short stay near Newcastle Airport. The location is great—easily walkable from the terminal, making it super convenient for travelers. My room was cozy and had everything I needed for a comfortable night. After a long day of travel, the bar was a great spot to unwind, and the breakfast buffet was exactly what I needed to start my day. If you’re looking for an easy, no-fuss airport hotel with all the essentials, this is a great option.

Negative experience: If I could zero star I would. Pubic hair left in the bath, stains on the walls and carpet. Disgraceful. We checked out and booked into the Double Tree across the road. Do not stay here . Dirty run down and expensive. Now trying to get money back.

Positive experience: I wasn't expecting much from a stop-over hotel & the service from all the staff was great, but I have to say the room & the food were a total let down! Booked a double but was given a twin bed - not the end of the world except the room itself was so tiny! I arrived in freezing temperatures yet I woke up in a sweat because the room was way too hot. Plug didn't work on one side so I had to switch between the kettle and the lamp as there was only 1 other socket. The bathroom was very worn & dirty. Food was way overpriced for the quality & the restaurant opening times weren't accurate so I ended up paying more for a meal from the bar. Dinner the second night came in a deal, but the portions were very small & again very low quality - pasta had an odd taste & when I told a waitress, she commented that some other people had also complained. I didn't try the breakfast because I didn't want to waste more money on plastic microwaved food. Why is it so difficult to find nutritious, quality food these days? The conference area is nice & warm however, although could be better signposted. Parking was advertised as free online but I had to pay for it when I arrived so perhaps that could be an error from the booking site. It was very difficult to find a spot within a short walking distance as it was busy when I stayed. Overall it comes down to "you get what you pay for" - it was a cheap stay, could have had improvements to make it more comfortable, reasonable for a 2 night stay.

Positive experience: Stayed going out and coming back from airport coming back a night mare wanted nice hot bath but water half way filling bath was brown no plug for bath toilet slow to flush.breakfast was bacon Burt crisp must been there since it opened at 6.30 sausages same top of dishes so hot and heavy burnt fingers not worth the £20

Fantastic experience: Fabulous room - thank you Rebecca Bar service exceptional- thank you Kieran for pointing out the ‘special offer’ Food service friendly, and delicious. Everyone is so kind and made my stay wonderful. Added bonus car didn’t need de- icing . See you all again soon.

Negative experience: Apart from it being close to Newcastle Airport, it has nothing else going for it. Stayed overnight from coming back from Poland, changed rooms, coz the one we got had a noisy fan near the bed, which you couldn't switch off. Secondly there was no cold water in either the rooms we got. The bedding was stained. I don't care iwhether it's classed as budget or not, it should still have standards!!!

Negative experience: So room smelly? . We ate in the bar places order at 7pm table 11 at 8pm I asked were our order was . Guy came over and said I asked who's food this was but no one answered. it's cold now maybe we can warm it up ? . People on tables around us said he never came. Offered a free drink and food arrived 15mins later . Food was average at best . Not sure if it was warmed up or cooked fresh again Asked for a refund but told only head office could authorise it . Whish I'd gone next door to the garage and got a meal deal .

Negative experience: Stayed here for 1 night with work.wouldnt stay any longer.made faulty towers look like the ritz Towels hadn't been changed and were filthy room hadn't been cleaned cobwebs and dust everywhere. Asked for clean Towels and was told we will get some to you, they never arrived.Bed not comfortable didn't sleep as I have back problems to start with.

Barbara Zimmerman 1 year ago

Negative experience: Terrible place. Rude help and upon receiving 2 inedible meals that were about 25 pounds, we were refused a refund. Being stuck in an airport hotel, with no other food available was a problem It was disgusting. No shuttle is offered and room is shabby. On a positive, it’s somewhat clean, except for crummy rug….and I DEFINITELY would not go there again. You shouldn’t either.

Positive experience: After reading some reviews we were not expecting much Room is a bit dated and the bed a bit narrow Price was good though We booked the evening 3 course meal and that was great we both like it and a complimentary bottle house wine The couple on reception were great very helpful like old married couple lol So easy to walk across to airport 3 or 4 mins no suitcase took them across the night before twilight check in Car seems very safe in the car park We both said we will use hotel again it made the early morning trip much easier Thank u to reception and bar and restaurant staff Thanx

Negative experience: Booked this hotel as part of a hotel/long stay parking package through Holiday Extras. It really is 3 mins walk from the terminal building. We booked a triple room - they showed a decent sized room with 3 single beds on the website but we actually got a small double room with a small camp bed shoved into the corner. We had booked for 2 adults and a child - our daughter is technically a child at 15 but she's the size of a tall adult so this bed wasn't at all suitable for her (I wasn't asked for her age on booking). There was no space for the 3 of us to move around with us and our luggage in the room. 2 towels provided for 3 of us. The bathroom was grotty and desperately in need of refurbishment. Ventilation was poor: stuffy with the window closed and too noisy to sleep with it open. We all had a poor night's sleep before our early flight. Avoid this place - pay a bit more if you have to.

Positive experience: Needs a revamp. The rooms are dated and look shabby. Clean and great location for airport.

Mystic_Loki 1 year ago

Positive experience: Not a bad hotel but the beds were firm as rocks. Didn't sleep very well with having a bad back. The rooms are needing updated badly (the bathroom was the worst). Service was okay, not amazing. The location is very convenient when you have a very early flight like we did!

Martyn Clark 1 year ago

Negative experience: Rooms need an upgrade very outdated. Hotel staff were really bothered about customer service. Someone asked how they knew that they had paid for parking the respones was I don't have a clue.

Positive experience: Stayed over 1 night Aug 2024 as had earlier flight we had triple room with 3 full size single beds which was great as premier won't allow 3 adults in 1 room so it was alot cheaper it was basic but spotless just had drinks in bar but only take card but were reasonable prices I would go back

Jon Maughan 1 year ago

Negative experience: The only positive about this hotel is it's close to the airport. The room was dirty; you couldn't see the colour of the carpet for the dust, there was blood on the bed sheets and mould on the bathroom ceiling and bath mat. We paid for a family room for two adults and two children, the room was that small there was no where to open the suitcases. We had to store them in the bathroom to get back out of the front door. The general smell around the hotel was of damp and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. It's not the worst hotel we've stayed in but it's in the top 1!

Negative experience: Very bad smell, heating wouldn’t come on, not very welcoming, the worst hotel I have ever been to. Would defo not recommend this hotel unless you want to stay in a bin

Negative experience: We booked a night stay at the Britannia Hotel (Newcastle Airport) because we had a flight to catch at 6a.m the next day, so we only slept in this accommodation for a couple of hours. My initial thought was only to spend a couple of pounds for an overnight stay. Scarily enough, the room was a lot more dilapidated than we expected. It felt like a haunted room with creaking doors, cobwebs, etc. One of the twin beds had body hairs left all over it. My partner slept on that bed because he didn't mind as long as he got a few hours of rest there, and eventually, he woke up with bites all over his legs. As I could not wait to run out of there at 3a.m sharp, I didn't take any photos. For what it is worth, you can book this hotel at your own risk. We paid approximately £85 per night, and the Britannia Hotel (Newcastle Airport) definitely is not worth this much. It's a complete rip-off! The only positive comment is that the hotel is within walking distance of the airport.

Negative experience: Stayed the 27th june ,the room was lovely ,added meal to orded wish i hadn't it was ridiculous ,the starter was horrible the carvary was none existing one meat which was gammon the veg was potatoes and carrot ,the deserts didn't exist asked for ice cream and the answer was you need to ask the waitresses, the attitude of all the staff in restaurants was unbelievable, if any one goes dont orded food from restaurants ,orded it from the bar as i wish i had done

Gary Jamieson 1 year ago

Negative experience: The hotel is dated and in need of modernising. The service at breakfast was shocking, as was the quality of what food was left with nearly 2 hours of service left. The only positive point was its proximity to the airport.

Negative experience: The idea was, having an early flight, to have a hotel close to the airport (very good point, 4 minutes on foot). After waiting 5 minutes in front of the reception terminal, I rang the bell and the receptionist arrived, whose kindness had passed away a long time ago. Second kiss-cool effect, I discover the "closet" in which I will spend the night... (general condition to be reviewed: moldy single-glazed windows, long hair in the shower...). The phone doesn't work, as I go down to eat I get unceremoniously turned away because I don't have shoes (I walked all day and couldn't put my feet in them) needless to say that there were no slippers provided in this hovel... I am black and do not want to express the feeling that animated me during this fortunately very short stay. Note to self: never book here again. The word “awful” has taken on its full meaning.

Gavin Davis 1 year ago

Negative experience: It's useful for staying in to catch early flights or staying over if you arrive back in the early hours but don't expect much! The mattress in my room was shockingly hard, the curtains didn't cover the bottom of the windows so daylight streamed in and the place is generally shabby. Tea and coffee is provided but only enough for one cup each, nothing in the way of biscuits either. Next time we'll be using the Novotel

Andrew T 1 year ago

Negative experience: Handy for the airport, but very low standards. I had to move rooms three times and barely got an apology. The third room was still full of black mould but I didn't want to ask again as I had already been threatened by the staff member on the desk.

Negative experience: A hotel badly in need of investment. Cleanliness is excellent but staff must have a hard time maintaining morale when the fabric of the place has become so dilapidated.

Fantastic experience: Overall fabulous. We went on our annual coach tour for new years and after a shambolic trip and hotel last year this hotel and location turned it around and made for a fabulous new year. On entry before we even got off the coach a member of staff was out to greet us and help with the luggage and upon entry it was a simple and friendly check in and the manager was helping people get onto the staff WiFi so that we didn’t have to pay £7 per 24 hours. The manager is Dean and he said it was the hotels first ever coach tour and I have to say that he handled everything above expectations. The rooms were clean and at the right temperature, as always with the beds they were comfortable which moves me onto saying quality of sleep was perfect. In terms of the bathroom it was small however well sized with a toilet large sink and a shower with bath. (You must shut the door when using shower/bath due to a sensitive fire alarm. The room had a standard free view TV and a lovely touch was 2 boxes of shortbread from the hotel on the beds. The hotel features 1 set of public toilets and they are located opposite reception. A selection of leaflets and maps of Newcastle can be found to the left of the woman’s toilet. The staff were so friendly as well. Moving onto breakfast and dinner all of which was bang on for me. Breakfast was a wide variation of continental and cooked food with standard full English buffet available and cereals with toast options also available. This brings me to dinner which was fantastic also each night there was 2 options and then a veggie/vegan option too. On New Years Eve the hotel had set up the entertainment room decoratively and served a 5 course meal which was amazing. The small touch of chocolate lollies customised to Britannia branding impressed me. Entertainment each night consisted of a singer bingo and quiz! I’m absolutely stunned by how good this hotel is and it’s a major credit to Dean and the team.

Negative experience: Do not stop here under any circumstances. They have a parking eye scam I was fined for over 15 minutes visiting for an sale within the building. If you call the hotel directly there's a charge of 13p M/M the parking fine company who you cannot contact only to pay the fine will not look at the appeal you pay not matter what please be aware before you book (there are better places to stay)

Positive experience: This is a very convenient hotel for taking morning flights from Newcastle airport. It's a few minutes walk to the terminal. There is a pleasant bar serving drinks and food. The rooms are comfortable and, most importantly, it is very reasonably priced.

Senga Neilson 1 year ago

Negative experience: There was a mix up in a booking through Itison and we were booked into the Britannia by mistake, they then wanted us to pay the full amount for the room even although we had paid part with our voucher, and did nothing to assist with the mistake. Discovered later that they should have honoured our booking. Not impressed considering it was 5.30pm and two hours from home.

Positive experience: The Hotel is less than a five minute walk to the airport. Parking is abit tight but plentiful. Reception staff very helpful, Room was nice and clean. We had a meal in the restaurant which was pleasant. The service that lets it down is the bar service and that is possibly due to them being tired.

Negative experience: They cleaners obviously hadn't changed the bedding from the previous people lp as there was what looked like dried sick between the bed sheets. We asked fo another room but the receptionist said the hotel was full and non available, but after we carried the bedding down to reception a room became available!!! Very disappointed with this rundown hotel We will try one of the other airport hotels in future..

Positive experience: Wake up Britannia Hotels. The quality expected has moved on massively and you have not. My 16 year old and I were there so he could compete in the Junior Great North Run. Over £300 for 2 nights in an unpleasant time capsule. Room 20 smelling of standing water or someone used a dirty mop. They did move us 2 second floor. Room better but dated and shabby in areas. The staff did more than expected and the breakfasts had lots of choice and well presented in a buffet style. Beds were clean. This place needs several thousand spending on it. Start with an illuminated sign at the airport car park crossing. Massively over priced for the unpleasant dated look and feel. The great staff deserve a better review but £300++ nope. Sorry Gregory Martin DE14

Vicki Wake 2 years ago

Positive experience: Room was functional for night before we flew. Car park for hotel 5 mins walk to terminal, but long stay option a 5 mins walk to hotel, then further 5 to the terminal. We took the option of the 3 course meal. Don't bother. Worst meal I've had in a long time. Chicken salad or soup. Neither great. Chilli and rice or turkey dinner. Lemon sponge and custard for pudding. I said it felt like school dinners but my husband said school was better. Service was awful. Have a bar meal instead. They looked much better. Bar nice but not very big. I'll stay again but learned some lessons for next time

Fantastic experience: Perfect hotel for a pre-flight stay. The park and fly packages are excellent value, even though the spaces can be hard to find and quite tight sometimes. The staff are always pleasant.

Laura Morley 2 years ago

Negative experience: As a hotel, I will say it's unacceptable! The room was dirty, plus stains on the wall and not even sure if bathroom was cleaned. Bathroom was old and falling apart too. I had the worst night sleep and walls so thin I could hear next door's people urinating. We went to the bar to eat which was understaffed, one man serving all. He was a lovely man, very friendly and patient, but unfortunately was running back and forth to serve everyone so not fair on him. Staff like him should be appreciated more! Lady at reception was friendly and helpful too, so no complaints there. The only positive was the staff and the location which is right on the airport grounds and walking distance to airport. This is the reason why I booked a park and fly package which wasn't that cheap BTW. Usually stay at the hilton but no availability so chose britannia over Premier Inn based on location. However, never again! I'd prefer to be further away than ever sleep in that dump again. Hotel needs a massive makeover! Its not even that it's dated. I dont mind basic either. It was dirty and falling apart. Hotel doesn't respect their paying customers. Won't be staying again.

Positive experience: Stayed here as part of a caledonian tour. I ordered a twin room, we got a twin room but the beds where joined together making a double. Room was clean but dated like all britannia hotels. Mum had a twin room that smelt of dampness. The reception staff where lovely and helpful. Breakfast and dinner was included in our stay. Breakfast was a buffet same items every day. Dinner was a carvery and buffet, 1st night it took over an hour to feed us as the chef hand carves the meat and serves the buffet (as it's Not all you can eat) so it took forever. The rest of week the meat was carved in advance and dinner went smoothly. They ran out of soup twice so not everyone got a starter. Food was OK most night's the chickpea curry was amazing. However the plates and cutlery where always dirty food stuck to them, the cutlery drawer area was filthy with hair and dirt in it. Bar area was OK it costs more for a pint of draft lemonade than 2 cans of Fanta (found that odd usually draft is cheaper) the airport is a 2 minute walk away where you can find a greggs, w h smith and Starbucks. There was plenty of parking bays. Mum's room had a ironing board and iron we had nothing but a hairdryer.

Positive experience: Reasonable price for the location and food was good. Extra charges though, £10 for the dog I can understand, £5 to use the car park and £7 for wi-fi in the room not so much.

Positive experience: Disgusting attitude from young male duty manager aggressive attitude when I complained about a member off staff repeatedly asking me to pay the bill 30 minutes after I had sat down, even though I asked for 5 minutes utes as I was taking a very urgent serious call, absolutely disgraceful, the rest of the staff including the receptionist, the bar staff and the extremely polite carvery chef were amazing, really Petty had to be spoilt by two very unprofessional people Disappointed and clearly unqualified duty manager

Fantastic experience: We were flying from Newcastle and this hotel was perfect for our needs, from parking the car for two weeks to a lovely, comfortable suite. Dinner and breakfast were also first class. Well done, we will be back on the way home.

Stefan Hatton 2 years ago

Negative experience: Il preface this with the rooms were decent. As far as service, terrible, resulted in a parking fine due to miscommunication from members of staff of the hotel. We got dropped off for our hotel stay, and made it very clear we had a car in the car park(13 mins stay total) of which the driver came into the hotel with us with the intention to validate any parking. Upon asking the front desk to do so, we were no told we didn't need to which has resulted in a parking fine, we appealed the fine to no avail and now stuck with the bill. I understand that parking is done by a separate company but the issue still stands, staff should be aware of the parking rules and regulations for the premises.

Negative experience: Rooms are very dated and dirty; ironic given there commitment to Covid 19.. The food is shockingly bad overcooked dry and in my opinion inedible.. The hotel manager needs a refresher in customer services.. Best if you avoid if you can: I’ve got an early morning flight and I deeply regret this nightmare of a sleep over.

Positive experience: Had trouble finding the hotel in the dark. Rang the hotel to find directions. Automated voice instructs that this call will be charged !!! What ?? Why ?? Very odd. Could not fault the room at all. Very comfortable and huge bed. No marmalade Breakfast. Told they have run out and awaiting delivery...... 1st establishment ever in my 59 years not to have such a vital breakfast commodity present. Awful Tea and Coffee dispensers..... All self service... It would be nice to have had proper tea and coffee brought to the table. Nothing wrong with the actual cooked Breakfast.

Positive experience: Excellent value for money if you opt for the hotel, fly and park package. We had the three course evening meal aswell which was fine and very filling. Best to book a time slot in advance for the evening meal. Our room was absolutely fine, clean and freshly painted. The shower was hot as was the room for late May! We stayed on a Monday night and had no problem parking the car. The location is the best thing about this hotel along with value for money. We were a bit dubious having read some of the reviews but it was absolutely fine and we would stay there again when flying from Newcastle.

There was flys dirty stains everywhere just disgusting the carpet in the room was just full off stains just a dirty dated room that was full of cob webs the lot aboustle disgusting for the price they should pay you to stay there perfect location but I would definitely not stay there again the breakfast in the morning was cold not nice at all staff were complaining just never again

Negative experience: Hotel needs a renovation, rooms are old. Breakfast staff need training, as table was not laid up and told to go over to trays and piles of cups and sort yourself out. Even though they was laying other tables up.

Negative experience: We had a really bad experience in the restaurant. We booked, but before we were even seated we could see they were woefully understaffed. We eventually got a starter, which was extremely poor, but we had no server or serviettes. The carver person was mostly not there, the two girls serving worked hard but could not cope with the number of customers. We walked out and refused to pay. We complained at the reception desk, the duty manager didn't have the basic decency to come and see us. We ate at Fretellos, had a super meal there.

Positive experience: Great if you're about to jetset off to somewhere nice. I'd say it was completely adequate to suit sleep, eat, wash and drink at a very reasonable price. Ample parking is available, the bar is small, and the rooms are just above basic and comfortable.

Negative experience: I booked this hotel because of its location to the airport. I read reviews before booking and was content it would be basic but at least convenient for walking to the airport terminal. When we checked in to our room I was shocked at how awful the room was - curtain hanging from the window, paper peeling around the radiator However, the biggest shock was the state of the bathroom. The shower attachment was mouldy and the taps, plug hole disgraceful. I immediately went to reception who had no issue allocating us a different room. The room was not much of an improvement but the bathroom was just about acceptable. The corridors smelt of stale lager. The rooms really are not acceptable, even for a budget hotel and the Brittania have no excuse for selling this standard of accommodation. Apart from the convenience of parking and being able to walk to the airport, the only positives I could say were the bed linen was clean and the staff were friendly. It shows how brilliant the Premier brand is and where we would normally stay. I would not recommend this place even for its convenience..

Positive experience: Rooms we used were very tired looking but the staff were great, dinner was good and extremely close to airport

Positive experience: It has a great location, just steps from the airport terminal building. Staff were friendly and welcoming, rooms and hotel are in serious need of modernisation, however. Do not set your expectations outside of the year 1970, get a price to reflect that and you won't be disappointed. If you want to feel you are actually in the year your calendar says you are then do not stay here.

Fantastic experience: Hotel is fine for 1 night stay and parking your car while on holiday. Easy to get to terminal 2 min walk. Back there on 27th March. Happy hour pint and spirits £2.20 can't complain. Rooms do need a little TLC. But it's handy

Positive experience: Great location for the airport. Rooms a bit dated, but clean all you need for an overnight stay. Food and drink were ok. Happy hour at bar early evening . Good price for stay and parking .

Positive experience: We had late flight from Newcastle airport,so this location is excellent. Literally a quick right turn when exiting airport. Reception staff really pleasant. Weird smell leading to room. We had double room which also had bunkbed in it,plenty of tea and coffee plus ironing board. A little dated but adequate.

Negative experience: So bad! Room stunk of sewers, bathroom disgusting (hairs in bath & urine all over toilet seat), old blood on the pillow. We booked for cheap & cheerful for the airport, weren’t bothered if it was outdated but didn’t expect dirty. Only giving one star because was £2.20 a pint for happy hour!

Positive experience: Great for overnight stay if your flight is early next morning. 5 to 7 minutes walk to the airport. But the room is pretty basic, clean though.

Positive experience: Lovely ti be able to walk across to hotel from airport. Evening meal was great, but breakfast was limited and slightly stale. Our room was initially unpleasant (smell) but we were then moved very quickly.

Negative experience: I would have no hesitation in awarding 5 stars for proximity to the airport terminal and convenience of parking, but this hotel is seriously let down by dated and dirty amenities. Looking at other reviews, there seem to be cheaper deals than the £95 I paid to Holiday Extras for 1 night and 7 days' parking from 13th. December 2022. One review even mentioned £55! I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat there, but the room was awful, with barely adequate heating to combat the sub-zero temperatures outside. Attempting to thaw out, I ventured into the bathroom where I found black mould in the grouting of the bath tiles and was nearly knocked out by the shower rail which fell from its flimsy wall mounting onto my head when I attempted to draw the mildewed and smelly curtain. Worse was to come! The wash basin waste was blocked and would not drain satisfactorily and the pre-historic extractor fan in the bathroom ceiling was not working. Now that architects have inexplicably decided that there should be no windows or natural ventilation in bathrooms and lavatories, it is vital that electrical extractor fans should be regularly maintained. Incipient or blossoming romances, so often conducted in hotel rooms, are quickly nipped in the bud by an unwelcome accumulation of methane and hydrogen sulphide. A good test for the adequacy of bathroom/wc ventilation is to offer a sheet of toilet tissue up to the grill of the extractor fan. If it defies gravity, romance may well flourish: if it falls to the floor, look for alternative accommodation! With suitable modernisation this would be a great place to spend the first night of your well-deserved holiday, but until then it doesn't deserve more than 1 star.

Negative experience: Checked in 26th December 2022,waited 45mins to check in, apparently short staffed, room was clean but freezing cold, no heating only cotton sheet on the beds, after about 90mins we were trembling with cold decided to leave and drive home, total waste of £60.00

Positive experience: We have used this hotel for many years and it is acceptable for the price. Basic but clean. Okay for the one night we usually stay before flying and convenient to have the car parked there during our holiday. However this time we felt that the room we were given was more basic than usual and the mattress was decidedly lumpy. Had we been staying longer we would definitely have had something to say.

Fantastic experience: Great stay at the Britannia hotel Newcastle airport. Staff friendly, very reasonable on prices in the bar and a lovely breakfast. Also a great room with a bath which is very rare ! Keep up the good work !

Negative experience: Outside like most modern hotels, boring brick...reception, dining room, and bar areas absolutely delightful, and clean, staff kind and attentive....I saw 3 of the rooms, they are dated and badly need decorating...coffee tea making facilities available, beds are comfy enough, bathrooms are horrible, cracked tiles, cracked sinks, broken seals, showers that take 5 mins to warm up, grubby towels......couldn't wait to escape

Positive experience: We stayed there and left our car for 4 days. Wel felt we got great value for money. Simone and Lyndsey at reception were very friendly and most helpful Would stay again

Negative experience: Welcome to 1970. The room had a strong smell of cigarettes. Despite -2 temperatures outside, the heating wasn’t on at all during our stay, despite reporting it, and told it comes on in cycles. Absolute rubbish. The bath was disgusting, I wouldn’t bath the dog in it. Two lights didn’t work (one had a missing bulb). Tried to use the phone in the room to call reception, but it didn’t work. If you want to experience a hotel in the style of Fawlty Towers, give it a try. What a dump.

Positive experience: It’s a cheap airport hotel with dated rooms and amenities. But hey, it’s cheap, a 4 min walk to the airport and for what we paid, we were well happy. Would we return - Yes - a bargain Would I recommend - Yes if you’re happy with a bed for the night and no frills.

Positive experience: I knew this hotel wasn't going to be 5 star but they were a number of faults. One fault was while I was putting my clothes on one of the cleaners walked into my room. I also had to sleep with the window open as they were a terrible smell in the room as well as a few spiders in the bathroom as well as a few dead flies. My partner went to the main desk only to be told as I booked it throw a 3rd party they could not help. They tell you they have parking but don't tell you about a £5 charge. This is my 2nd time staying in this hotel & it will be my last. The first time I came was just before Covid-19 & they were private parking but they didn't charge you

Positive experience: Rooms are dated but it was very clean. I'm always paranoid about hotel beds, bedbugs and sheets not changed etc. But this wasn't the case here. Bed was freshly made and I had a look along the seam of the mattress to check for bugs but it looked brand new. I had a great night sleep. For the price I paid I was very happy and the location is excellent if flying out of Newcastle Airport. I would stay here again.

Negative experience: Has to be the most outdated hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff work their socks off, but the owners should hang their heads in shame! Attached images of our room view. Just imagine 1970s room fittings!
