Our comment from FitFit UK about Bannatyne Health Club & Spa:
Welcome to Bannatyne Health Club & Spa in Weybridge, where you're greeted by a team of friendly and professional staff, dedicated to providing a relaxing experience for all guests. Many visitors have praised the quality of the spa treatments, especially the massages provided by talented therapists like Phoebe and Katie, who are noted for their attentiveness and skill.
Our facilities include a spacious gym equipped with modern machines, a large swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a steam room, and a sauna, all contributing to a comprehensive health and wellness experience. The gym itself is well-maintained and not overcrowded, making it an ideal environment for workouts.
However, we acknowledge some guests have faced challenges. Instances of poor customer service at the reception and cleanliness issues with certain facilities have been reported. Some clients have also mentioned misunderstandings regarding charges for towels and robes, which can be viewed as a negative point. Additionally, during busy periods, noise from swimming lessons has been a concern for visitors seeking a quiet, relaxing experience.
Despite some negative feedback, many guests have left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after utilizing our spa and wellness services. With a beautiful setting surrounded by nature, Bannatyne Health Club & Spa is eager to ensure a pleasant experience that exemplifies value for money. We continuously strive to improve and provide an excellent environment for our patrons.
Bannatyne Health Club & Spa: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Staff are very pleasant, polite and professional. My therapist pheobe was brilliant, really listened to my needs and accommodated
Thank you for the 5 Star review we have passed your kind comments onto Phoebe.
Negative experience: I came here 12 months ago and had a wonderful time however today was a totally different experience. You are advised via email that the Steam room is closed and being refurbished and you can change dates if you wanted as long as done so within 48 hours notice. When I finally got through on the phone it was not within that time frame (it was 46hours). However if they answered several hours before it would have been. The work on the Steam room is right next to the pool so when they are cutting metal, sparks actually came into the Jacuzzi. Nothing relaxing at all with all the noise. The icing on the cake was when we paid £10 for the towel pack with robe. The towel was ripped and shredded. I took it to Reception and they said it’s got mixed in the laundry and it’s not one of theirs. Just felt this was a real shame. Meant to be a relaxing day and we ended up leaving earlier than we wanted.
Hello Cheryl, we are sorry that your experience did not match your expectations at our Bannatyne Health Club & Spa - Weybridge, should you wish to discuss in further detail please email [email protected].
Negative experience: The gym is fine if you pick your times a bit. The spa area and changing rooms are all below par. One of the biggest issues is they sell a lot of (cheap) spa packages. It’s a small gym spa consisting of a sauna for 5 ppl a steam room for 5 ppl and a jacuzzi with space for 6-7. But those numbers are the absolute max and when at max it feels v full. I know it’s half term but today (Sunday 5pm) you’ve got kids in the steam room, kids in the jacuzzi. Worst of all people coming straight out of the steam room into the jacuzzi Appreciate its hard to stop people being gross, but they just need some staff to be a bit more involved, maybe some more signage. Lots of ‘no phone’ signs up ( not sure why that matters for ppl on the loungers?) but they need staff in the area to make sure they can bring the standards up.
Hello Kieran George, we are sorry that your experience did not match your expectations at our Bannatyne Health Club & Spa - Weybridge, should you wish to discuss in further detail please email [email protected].
Fantastic experience: Had such a well needed relaxed and chilled experience
Hello Carla Young, thank you for taking the time to send a review about your visit to Bannatyne Health Club & Spa - Weybridge.
Negative experience: Unfortunately we had a bad experience here. On arrival they charged us £10 each for a towel and robe even though we had both paid for treatments and use of the pool. The facilities were disgusting and so dirty. There was mould on the walls, hair on the floor and no shampoo provided. The massages were very underwhelming and my person only gave me 30 minutes instead of the 45 we'd paid for.
Hi Daisy, Thank you for the review sorry to hear you have had a negative experience at the club. We did send you an email a week before your booking explaining the charges for robe hire and also the times we allow children to use the pool. We had cleaners working during your visit and we have not received any further comments regarding cleanliness for this day. We are also unable to find any mould on any of the walls. Thank you for providing the feedback and we hope to see you back here in the future.
Fantastic experience: Really good spa, enjoyed the jacuzzi and steam room. Lovely views out into the zen garden! My massage was amazing, Phoebe was my therapist and she was brilliant - really worked those muscles and I left feeling so relaxed! Will definitely be coming back :)
Thank you for the 5 star review, we have passed your kind comments onto our Therapist.
Fantastic experience: Panini in the cafe was dire, but overall I had a very relaxing spa treatment here.
Thank you for the 5 star review.
Fantastic experience: I will 100% be visiting her again I have already booked my next visit early 2025. I had the most amazing 50 minute treatment a luxury shell massage and luxurious facial, I relaxed on the hot beds and then had a croissant and peppermint tea in the conservatory. Then I enjoyed a swim , chill in the jacuzzi and steam room. Th changing rooms and all facilities were very clean. They did seem a little short staffed but all the team are very friendly even the other people all seemed lovely and polite. They have a spinning room, gym facilities, I can’t wait to go back again.
Thank you for the 5 star review.
Fantastic experience: I have been visiting this spa with my mum for a few years now and today’s experience was the best I’ve had - Millie provided great service and the treatment was amazing! Thank you Millie❤️
Thank you for the 5 star review we have passed the kind comments to Millie.
Negative experience: I purchased a spa experience for a friend’s birthday and having stayed at a Bannatyne spa previously, I was really looking forward to our relaxing day together. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the experience and felt embarrassed that I’d booked this spa over any other choice. Upon arrival at the spa, we were greeted with a cold welcome by the member of staff at reception. We had read online and in the pre welcome email that towels were provided for a £10 refundable fee. Unfortunately what we both missed was that it was actually a £10 charge plus a £10 refundable fee, therefore a £20 charge per person. We realise that it is our own fault as we both misunderstood the wording, however we also feel that it wasn’t very clear. When raising this with the member of staff at reception, they just reiterated that it was £20. They showed no empathy towards the misunderstanding and we had to just pay the £40 as we had travelled over an hour to get to the spa so couldn’t return home to get a towel. We then had to ask where to go to get to the facilities. I would have expected to be advised, as it was clear that we had not been before. The customer service seemed very poor. The poolside, jacuzzi and changing rooms were pretty basic and not the level of clean you would expect from a health club and spa. The toilet by the spa rooms was also unclean and didn’t look like it was checked regularly if at all. The spa treatments were ok, the therapists were lovely but unfortunately this entire experience has left us not wanting to visit another bannatyne spa or health club in the future. I had also emailed after our visit with regard to the towels, with no satisfactory response.
Hello Lori Taylor, we are disappointed to learn of your experience at our Bannatyne Health Club & Spa - Weybridge, please email us at [email protected] to allow us to understand your concerns and the opportunity to improve.
Positive experience: Savannah was so kind really helpful and went above and beyond.
Thank you for the review, we have passed on your kind comments to Savannah.
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience here! I received an amazing back massage from Katie, who was very professional and created such a relaxing atmosphere. The vibe was perfect for unwinding, and all the other facilities are top-notch. Highly recommend!
Thank you for the 5 Star review! We have passed on your kind comments to Katie.
Negative experience: Tried speaking with someone.. tried all of the options .. reception, sales etc no joy.. you've lost my business as nobody has time for an unanswered phone call.. disappointing to say the least...
Hi Ben, Sorry to hear this, if you would like to email [email protected] with your contact details someone will at once contact you. Thanks
Positive experience: Great place for a spa day. A well equipped gym. A large swimming pool, various massages on offer. The sauna is good for about 8-10 people and the steam room can seat about 8 people. Best to go off-peak to be able to experience everything properly. One drawback is that there isnt a hottub as such but a hydrospa which is warm with a few less than powerful jets. There is a very powerful water jet in the hydrospa which is great for back and neck massaging.
Thank you for the review.
Negative experience: Impossible to reach this branch through the phone. Tried over 4 days, constantly rings and rings at any of the extensions you select. Useless!
Hi Dijon, Sorry to hear this, if you would like to email [email protected] with your contact details someone will at once contact you. Thanks
Fantastic experience: If you want to a good gym with great staff, great equipment and a great spa, choose Bannantynes. Best value Gym around.
Thank you for the 5 star review!
Fantastic experience: I've been a Member here for many years - since before Bannatyne took over the Weybridge Health Club & Spa. Staff are always very pleasant and, apart from the occasional niggle about faulty gym equipment taking ages to repair, facilities are good, there's a nice atmosphere in the gym and my annual membership has not increased over the past 2 years which means that if I gym 4 times a week each visit equates to less than £4 - pretty good value in 2024!...
Thank you for the 5 star review Geoff and thank you for your continued loyalty to the club.
Negative experience: Totally let down. Customer service terrible. Won't ever return. Booked for my daughters 21st. Greeted by the incredibly rude Eliza. No refund offered no manager to speak to nothing. I could continue to rant as it went on for over an hour. DO NOT BOOK HERE
Hello Zoe, thank you for your review, please email us at [email protected] so we can investigate your experience further. All feedback, whether it be positive or negative allows us to improve as a business, thank you, Tom Mitchell.
Negative experience: Unfortunately this place was disappointing to say the least, gutting because I was really looking forward to a day at the spa, this is not a spa it’s a leisure centre with a few treatment rooms. The pool & changing rooms was taken over by kids on their swimming lessons and the very very small jacuzzi had all 15 adults in and sitting around it so no space to relax. The cream tea was microwaved and had seen better days and if you’re lucky you get the condensation drips from the roof in your food and down the back of your neck. The robes have holes in and half the tie missing and you get charge £40 for them but you get £20 back in a week (hidden charges as you only get told this on the way out). not impressed at all Bannatyne you should be ashamed of this place
Hello Helena, thank you for your review, please email us at [email protected] so we can investigate your experience further. All feedback, whether it be positive or negative allows us to improve as a business, thank you, Tom Mitchell.
Fantastic experience: Bannatyne Weybridge is a great place. The gym is spacious with lots of great equipment and machines. The place is big enough that it’s never busy, no need to wait in the gym to use any equipment. All trainers are friendly and helpful, as are the staff behind the reception. The pool area is good too, including jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. I have yet to try the spa facilities, so cannot comment on that. The Bannatyne’s phone app is user friendly and allows you to book classes, PT sessions, and other benefits. I’m no gym fanatic by any measure, but I enjoy going to Bannatyne Weybridge.
Thank you for the 5 star review!
Fantastic experience: Great facilities including the Padel courts
Thank you for the 5 Star review!
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Newly mended conditioners - always cool fresh air.
Thank you for the 5 Star review!
Negative experience: Massively disappointed with our ‘spa day’. Definitely not a spa and more a leisure centre. Me and my sister had massage treatments, which for me the massage I had wasn’t the greatest, the aircon was on for half of it which pointed directly at me and my therapist used a chair which you could hear the wheels move around. I am trained in massaging and I do find it’s the little touches and small details that matter the most with these type of treatments. After the massage we decided to leave and not bother with the facilities as it just didn’t give off ‘spa day’ vibes. I would not recommend here however the girl on reception was lovely (unfortunately I cannot remember her name)
Hi Genevieve, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are sorry to hear you had a disappointing day. The temperature in our Spa rooms can be modified based on the clients requirements. Thank you for the kind words regarding our reception team we have passed on these lovely comments.
Fantastic experience: Great place, lovely staff, was great to spend a day relaxing
Thank you for the 5 Star review!
Positive experience: I attended a yoga class where Cat was the instructor and she was horrible, I arrived at 12 on the dot and my friend had already laid out my mat for me and the class hadn’t even started but she kicked me out because I was late, wouldn’t let me in the class even though I explained my mat was already there ready. She told me I’d missed the class and I had to leave, her making a scene then made the class late when she could have just let me in. I then went to reception to complain as I was not late and they told me to go back in to the class which I did. She then continued to make a scene and proceeded to make me feel uncomfortable throughout the class saying I wanted to do this exercise but thanks to people being late we now don’t have time etc. multiple people approached me after this class saying how uncomfortable they felt as she was being so horrible and they were sorry I had to experience that and still to this day I will never attend her class again.she also did something similar to another lady in a previous class, she wouldn’t let her enter as she was late and told her to wait outside till she was ready to let her in. She then went back to her after at least 20 mins of being stood there and she was laughing in her face saying I forgot you were there haha and honestly she just creates a horrible environment when yoga is meant to be relaxing and enjoyable. The manager was very nice about the situation he really is great but really disappointed my options of classes are limited as I don’t want to be bullied by a certain instructor or watch her bully other people.
Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful experience today. Fantastic gym with plenty of equipment. The pool is a nice size and all one depth. Lovely sauna and jacuzzi. The 2 ladies who did the treatment were very polite and caring. They made us feel relaxed and welcome. I would highly recommend.
Hello Zoe Shine, thank you for taking the time to send a review about your visit to Bannatyne Health Club & Spa - Weybridge. We really appreciate your feedback, thank you, Tom Mitchell.
Positive experience: Had a fantastic Swedish back and shoulder massage here. Facilities were good and plenty of staff monitoring facilities and cleaning etc. Only thing I'd suggest is more if a welcome and on arrival on reception desk as I had to ask how to get to the spa etc and I was given XL flip flops and had to ask to swap for smaller ones. It is worth bearing in mind that they will charge £20 for towel, robe, flip flops and bag and you get £10 back when you return towel and robe. Next time, I'd bring my own. Overall deal was good value and I'd return. Lovely location.
Fantastic experience: brilliant gym in a relaxing setting. Gym has top level machines and good classes, cool new spin bike studio. The pool and spa are one of the best I’ve been to and good monthly and annual pricing options.
Fantastic experience: Came for a spa day with my sister and mum for my mums birthday I read some bad reviews, which made me quite nervous but there was really no need to be as we had a great experience! Especially for the price paid. The treatments we received were great and we made good use of all the facilities available. Yes they do run swimming lessons, but they aren’t invasive in the slightest and caused no annoyance at all. If this is something that would bother you, you’re probably better off going to an adult only facility but personally it didn’t bother us. Will definitely consider coming back!
Thank you for the 5 Star review! So great to hear your mum enjoyed her birthday with us.
Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my spa day here. It was very reasonably priced, the facilities were great and very clean, the food in the cafe was good, and the staff were friendly. I particularly appreciated that my friend didn't want the back massage that was included in the package and they were very happy to adjust which treatment she had. The spa was also set in very peaceful surroundings and we enjoyed watching the horses in the field that you could see from the cafe.
Positive experience: The club facilities are really great, ie sauna, pool steam room, but the gym is small and limited equipment. If you want to train seriously this gym is not the place.
Positive experience: It really is a kwality gym. Love the Spa, pool and clean changing rooms. Very well stocked gym equipment. Amazing rural setting, surrounded by fields with horses in. Easy to park on site. Some, but certainly not all staff can be a wee bit unfriendly, hence the 4/5, however they are all helpful and knowledgable.
Fantastic experience: Took my daughter for her birthday for a spa day, it was lovely and the staff were very friendly...the treatments were lovely to....the jacuzzi was nice but just found the water a bit to powerful ...but overall really relaxing day....
Fantastic experience: I had an amazing day at Weybridge spa today, friendly staff, very clean and modern facilities, lovely pool and spa and overall a fabulous relaxing experience for a great price. Special thanks to Mia, who gave me a fantastic facial and foot massage and to the staff on the front desk who were very helpful. Plenty of parking and beautiful surroundings. I can't wait to return
Positive experience: I had the hot stone massage and facial, which left me feeling very relaxed and refreshed. Although the pool area did have some classes taking place, the other facilities made up for it, including a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. There was also a lovely cafe with serene countryside views. I would definitely return to this lovely spa to unwind again.
Positive experience: Nice spa and reasonably priced at £80 for 2 people during the week - the gym is well equipped and lots of space, and I found the spa/pool area to be decent. Didn't have any issues with crowding or cleanliness. Facial treatment was really good and professional - can't fault the facility or the staff - however, when we left the spa to go through to the garden area, we were greeted by two guys who were asking us questions about cancer survival rates and trying to get us to donate to charity. To be honest this is not really what you'd expect having just had a relaxing day in the spa, and whilst I do like to donate money to charity I'm not fond of bring pressured into it when I'm trying to enjoy a day off with my wife. I was really surprised that the management let these guys set up in such a place, seems really unprofessional and bad taste. Also, I wasn't that keen on the food - the sweet potato fries I ordered were undercooked and inedible. That said, I would go again at that price, not sure if I would at full price though.
Negative experience: To call this a spa is a very is a very big stretch. Its just a jacuzzi and a swimming pool which is overrun with kids having swimming lessons. The jacuzzi is not great, far to much pressure, like being punch in the stomach. Not relaxing at all. Very underwhelming place and I was expecting a lot more. I've been to for better spas with better and more facilities. Won't ever return.
Fantastic experience: Had a lovely spa day with treatments, the beauty therapists were very friendly and professional and all the facilities were very clean. Would highly recommend.
Positive experience: It was a great spa and we really enjoyed the day there, The pool and spa were really nice and the Zen garden was lovely. the food was really mediocre and very basic which surprised me. I expected a nice salad bar etc. but all in all it was a nice place.
Fantastic experience: Really nice gym with modern equipment and a pool. Its great location inside a farm is also so relaxing.
Fantastic experience: It was great! Me and my fiancé had a small facial with massage it was so relaxing! We then went to enjoy some sauna and swimming pool Honestly we will definitely be back
Positive experience: Good spot on a budget. The food quality could be improved. Staff are courteous and professional. Overall good experience.
Fantastic experience: We arrived not knowing what to expect but were greeted by reception staff and given instructions on how to use the facilities. We had a really lovely day with three excellent spa treatments for two. The massage was so relaxing from the two very skilled masseuse. The staff were so accommodating and very pleasant. The pool and jacuzzi were just excellent and the facilities were unsurpassed. Afterwards we had a light lunch and coffee, served in the lounge with a smile and most relaxing views. Altogether a wonderful day which was a birthday gift from my daughter. I would highly recommend the experience and visit.
Negative experience: So it was my birthday and I had a massage booked for me it stated I had a 60 min massage and had said I had access to the spa upon arrival I was told I wasn’t allowed to use the spa and it was a massage only I was visibly annoyed as I had siked myself up to go in the pool as I was alone which took a lot of prep talk to then be told I couldn’t use it I explained I had to get kids from school and would only have around 45 mins and if I could just possibly use sauna and steam and it was my birthday she said no. I was then told to wait until a certain time and then to make my way down stairs as I sat in the waiting area which was ment to be a chill out zone with food and drink available I saw no menu no indication and wasn’t asked if I wanted anything so I make my way down stairs at the required time to be called in 5 mins after my appointment time finally got in room spent 5 mins talkin about what I wanted and what would take place 10 mins into my appointment time she tells me to get undressed and she wil be back a further 5 mins she then spend 5 min covering me up with towels ect we finished an hour after the appointment start time but started almost 20 mins late so my hour massage was 45 mins and I was to annoyed to say anything as she had finished walked out tellin me to get dressed the massage was one of the best I have had but the next day I could barely move I was in agony and that has never happened before and I have had a few massages overall not the best experience and somewhat dissatisfied I went to one in Hilton hotel at Heathrow and that was amazing
Positive experience: We were met with welcome when we got there, told us where the facilities were how to use the lockers. All the staff were nice and the lady in the changing rooms was so helpful and polite. The changing rooms were spacious and clean. We had booked for massage and facial and have to say best massage I had for a long time. I saw bad reviews before I went but had a great afternoon and experience. Even my partner enjoyed it.
Positive experience: Spa day with my daughter. Nice place. Could do with a few more beds to relax on ny the pool. Great treatments. We had lunch in the cafe. Basis but good.
Positive experience: This was gifted for Christmas for myself and my daughter. Friendly welcome, advise that you take your own flip-flops as they had run out of those and the pamper bags. We had 2 treatments each at the same time. Very relaxing and professional, making sure we were OK throughout. At the end they give you a list of all the products they used but there is no hard sell. We had lunch in the conservatory, relaxing and warm looking out to fields of horses. The food was nice and worth the money. We spent the afternoon in the spa. This was quite noisy due to swimming lessons which we had been warned about. However spa lovely and warm and steam room nice. The sauna always seemed very busy but got in there eventually. There are very few loungers in the spa and those that were there seemed to have been saved by the same people all day so people were actually sitting on the floor. In summary we had a lovely relaxing day and would definitely go again.
Negative experience: Had the hot lava shell massage was quick not very relaxing, the area was nice gym was good and the spa area was decent too.
Fantastic experience: My partner and i had a spa day here and I'd say ignore the bad reviews. Facilities were nice and clean. We went on. Thursday from 10am and left at 4pm. Throughout the day there was not 1 children's swimming club so we could use the pool at anytime. We had 3 mini treatments each, back, foot and head massage and wow it finished our day nicely. We came away feeling relaxed and wanting to sleep the night away. Charlotte and Amelia were professional yet very friendly and knew what they were doing. All the staff were very helpful. We would come again
Positive experience: Overall, it was a nice visit, a lovely location and nice facilities. Relaxing treatments in a nicely set up couples room. A cafe with a view onsite which you could use in your Bannatyne robe. £10 to take home a bag and branded flip flps and £10 hire for robe and towel. The hydro pool was the best I've been in. Decent steam room, but the sauna didn't seem very hot. A number of broken loungers around the hydro pool and outside in the zen garden. The newer loungers were ideal, though. Welcoming and friendly staff on the desk, providing treatments, and serving food. Lots of cleaning happening in changing rooms and poolside which is always great to see. Overall, we enjoyed it.
Negative experience: cold treatment room, cold changing roons, staff not ready, cafe shut on arrival, expensive towel and robe hire, so poor value overall, shameas the facilitues and location are nice
Positive experience: I lovey it! It’s a shame that the padel it’s taking from another company as the mix would have been the solution for me
Fantastic experience: Wonderful, used the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Also had a back shoulder and neck massage. Having lunch then back for a quick visit back to the steam room.
Positive experience: I really enjoy coming daily and using the swimming pool facilities but The reason why I gave 3 stars is because inside male locker room is a bit cold during winter time also in the swimming section the same . About the customer service at the reception I would suggest you get a mistery shopper to check up on your employee as they are not very welcoming , always on their phones and even when you say hi to them they don’t even bother to reply . So unprofessional .
Fantastic experience: Booked this venue for a spa day - massage and facial. Upon checking reviews, I was somewhat apprehensive about the experience I was going to receive. Ignore the bad reviews, this was by far the best massage I’ve had. It was more of deep tissue massage and I cannot fault how good it was. I’d certainly come back for more treatments. Sauna, steam room, hydra pool and normal pool were also used and no issues with any. Pleasant enough showers and changing room. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Yes they do charge for the use of a towel, robe and flip flops, so if you don’t fancy paying, bring your own. Didn’t use the gym facilities or cafe, however.
Fantastic experience: I took my wife for a spa day here today, the treatments are amazing! The facilities were clean and in full working order (which is somewhat rare for a spa these days). Every member of staff we encountered from Reception to cleaning staff were soo friendly and welcoming ensuring we knew where we were and good for a quick chat when passing. Some spas charge through the nose for refreshments but Bannatynes was reasonably priced for drinks (we didn't eat). All in all thoroughly impressed we'll definitely be back.
Fantastic experience: Lovely experience at Bannatyne. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had relaxing massage and got to chill out in the relaxation rooms after (the warm ceramic chairs are so nice). I then had a peaceful afternoon in the conservatory doing a bit of work and also used the pool and sauna which were clean and a very nice experience. I’d recommend.
Fantastic experience: I had a lovely time here today. I was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but I don’t have any negatives at all. I attended for treatments at the spa. Spa was lovely. Therapists were lovely. Staff were all nice. Changing areas were clean. Pool looked very inviting. I spent time in jacuzzi which was also nice. Had lunch in the cafe which was fine too. Lovely coffee. Lovely surroundings. It was all so nice. I’d recommend.
Positive experience: Lovely spa day experience. Friendly staff, relaxing treatment, clean facilities, ok food and not too busy, much better than expected. Overall felt it was good value for money and would return again.
Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK A SPA DAY HERE. it's just a glorified leisure centre with works going on. Not relaxing in the slightest!
Fantastic experience: Good facilities, new machines however some more would be better. Had an amazing body scrub! Very nice pool/jacuzzi area. Steam room and sauna on the small side... Nice canteen but hardly and vegan option, certainly none on the smoothies.
Negative experience: Not good at all. When you drive up to the spa you think it will be good with a nice setting with horses and fields. But after standing at the desk in the cold wondering where anyone is and waiting for them to finish there loud innaporopate conversation in the back room you soon realise your in for an interesting day. We finally got served by what looked like a teenager, she didn't show us where to go, we found it ourselfs The changing rooms are nice and warm, they had a cafe area which looked new but not clean, cups and plates left on every table, and dirty marks on the others. Me and my partner didn't use the gym but could see it was busy and there was an impressive spin room by the cafe area. We went for our treatments and realised it was back past the cold reception in our towels and flip flops to the other side of the building. The carpets down the corridor are filthy and thick with what looked like dust. I then realised its because it was dust as the spa is part building site !!! I wish they pre warned us as I don't think anybody wanted to sit in the waiting room while builders are walking up and down the stairs and the equipment is in there. Waiting 2 minutes into our treatment time and there are what looked like more 17/18 year olds that also couldn't be bothered. The 2 therapists finally 'greeted' us when they finished their giggling and took us into the couples room. The room is lovely, smells amazing and has brilliant downlights. The music is a bit drainy after 45 minutes but you could get past that. One therapist asked us questions about pressure and any pains etc and also made sure we had no injuries or allergies which is good. The other therapist had chewing gum and fluffy slippers with a massive cardigan and was playing with her hair while listening to us. The massage itself was great. Both good pressure and the lava shell was lovely i would definitely get that again. Then we had a facial and it was not relaxing at all. The therapist was making the loudest noises, rolling her chair around the room, turning the tap on full blast so it was splashing everywhere, she even got up at one point and went to the bin. When the treatment finished they gave us some paper with their products they used and we walked back into the loud, bright and cold reception area. I would recommend they maybe dim the lights in that area so your eyes can adjust. The pool area was very nice, a jacuzzi with sauna and steam room too. The area was busy and not many chairs. There is an outside area but it was too cold to go there. One lane of the pool was full of screaming kids for the swimming lessons. We had a quick swim and then decided to go home and have dinner elsewhere. As a last minute Christmas treat I wish we didn't bother. But now we know and I will make sure to let others know not to bother too.
Negative experience: Avoid avoid avoid! Do not use any vouchers here or even consider this to be a half decent place. Terrible venue (run down), poor service especially at reception and poorly trained teenagers running the spa. Also don't expect any help or support with Red Letter Vouchers. Trust the reviews and do not be lured into this horrible venue.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant spa morning. The massage was spot on and just what was needed! The facilities are clean and modern and the staff are attentive and friendly throughout the whole centre.
Positive experience: I can not fault the staff on site, very helpful and polite. I was disappointed that the towels and robes provided on site, were old and falling apart. The little tea room, was old and filthy, I don’t expect to pay good money to go to a Bannatyne Health club, and find the find broken with wood in it, all the other windows were filthy and had not been cleaned in the morning, I arrived at Linch time so they should have been cleaned by then
Negative experience: Sadly we were hugely disappointed with the so called ‘spa day experience’ at Bannatyne. It’s overpriced and it was hardly a relaxing day with Aqua aerobics on in the pool that wasn’t advertised when booking. Sadly the staff were pretty rude staff when you’d expect them to warm and welcoming and our treatments were very average. Safe to say I’ll never be returning!
Positive experience: Came here a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday as a treat, the entrance of the spa was lovely and loved the surroundings, lots of space for parking, overall cleanliness was poor, food was average. My gym experience was excellent, the Personal Trainer Samit was very knowledgeable and helpful, he was very polite and made me feel so comfortable. He patiently explained all my questions and I felt confident. As someone who doesn't usually like the gym, he has changed my views about it! I will be returning and bringing my husband in the future. Thank you Samit. The spa experience could have been better.
Fantastic experience: It's a fantastic gym. The staff are really focused and we were made to feel very welcome. The equipment is kept clean and well maintained and money is being spent on improvements. Go Bannatyne
Fantastic experience: I've been coming to the club as a Gympass member using the gym, pool and the spa. The gym has a good range of well-maintained equipment and in a clean environment. There is a spa area with a well-maintained pool, hydro massage pool, sauna, and steam room, all of which are pleasantly uncrowded. Along with helpful staff and a positive vibe, it provides a satisfying and great workout experience.
Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK A SPA DAY HERE! 1) they charge you to rent a towel, robe and flipflops, not included in the voucher which isn't made clear 2) their facilities are extremely basic, not clean, doesn't give you that relaxed spa vibe 3) spa area is extremely small and busy. We went during a weekday and struggled to get room in the sauna 4) the swimming pool area is overrun with a children's swimming class 5) the 30 mins treatment actually lasted max 20 mins 6) sparkling cream tea was included in our voucher, I don't like to waste food, but it was inedible! Never received the 'sparkling' part but didn't bother asking at that point, I was so keen to leave 7) staff are between reception desk and the run down cafe
Fantastic experience: Lovely place lovely food lovely drinks I had a wonderful spa and the staff were very friendly.
Fantastic experience: The spa was fantastic! Super relaxing! We went there for a facial and massage. I've never had a facial... Apparently, i needed it... and admittedly, it was 100% worth it. My wife commented on how the facial was one of the best shes experienced.... which is hogh praise indeed. We will likely go again at some point. Super friendly staff. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the gym/pool, it seemed a bit dated (I don't mean to offend). The Minnow pup is just around the corner.. Make sure you go there... after the massage.
Positive experience: Went with my job for childrens swimming lessons. Very enjoyable and kids loved it.
Negative experience: Don't waste your money on a spa experience day. Couldn't get in the pool in the morning as there was a class and the roped off bit for lane swimming was full. No real place to relax after the treatment (the one star is for a good massage though). Biggest rip off was the fact they charge you £18 for robe, towel and flip flops and a bag. They give you £10 back when you return the towel and robe.So I didn't take anything. But they had no bags so left clutching my damp swimsuit and very painful but very expensive flip flops And no discount for lack of bag. Disgusted. Won't be going back.
Negative experience: Really shocking customer service. I had a voucher to use from RedLetterDays as I wanted to gift my mother-in-law with a nice spa day as a birthday present. Their website kept saying the code was invalid and after speaking to 4 different people, not a single person gave me any useful information and they all sounded so miserable. Voucher worked fine with Brooklands Spa, who had no issues accepting the voucher and gave me amazing customer service. Note for future: fix your UI as it doesn’t accept voucher codes despite being perfectly valid.
Fantastic experience: Always clean and the staff are helpful and knowledgable. Excellent facilities, the pool and gym are quiet when I visit. The showers have recently been updated too!
Positive experience: Vosot here weekly for physio and kids swimming. I enquired about a membership once and the staff just told me to look online. No effort made to show me around, book a trial or discuss plans etc. Also its probably hard for them to do anything about it but their members drive aggressively, don't observe the 1-way system and freely park in disabled spaces when they clearly aren't.
Negative experience: I had no help when I was made redundant, even with proof of redundancy they choose to still take money from me, they also say no phones around the pool side and for someone who is not body confident and doesn’t want to be recorded when it states no mobile phones around the pool you think they would follow their own rules, but they don’t! people have phones constantly around the pool and someone recorded me and my mum in the pool and bannatyne reposted it to there instagram story, I then didn’t feel comfortable to come in so left and told them why I left and they denied it and said they didn’t have a video of me and mum but all over their instagram they repost things with phones on pool side, you can never get on equipment and classes are terrible to get on to too, would not recommend at all !
Fantastic experience: Absolutely stunning gym with all the facilities that make it a great gym
Negative experience: Was our second visit to Bannatyne, after first having visited in 2019. It's definitely gone downhill since then. The treatments were good and the girl was very nice, which was the main reason we came. However, the sauna/steam room area is run down and dirty as is the changing room. The cafe is over priced and bad quality. The biggest let down for us was that shortly after we arrived they began swimming lessons in the pool, so our 'relaxing spa day' became overrun with shouting children and instructors. For this reason we probably won't ever return to this spa. I don't believe it should be sold as a Spa Day location if it isn't that.
Positive experience: I bought a spa experience for 2 with 3 treatments each at a bannatyne spa. I then extended the voucher. I then couldn't out my code in to book a date on the website due to a glitch. After months of emailing bsck and forth, I finally got a code but they said I could only have 1 treatment each instead of 3 because the deal had changed. I went there today, had a "25 minute" massage (more like 15) and had to pay 16 on entry to use the robes and get a towel. At. A. Spa. There is a sauna, a Jacuzzi (inside), pool, steam room and an outside bit to lounge in the sun. The deck chairs were 50% broken and only at about 2 in the afternoon did we realize they were supposed to have upholstery on them, when a man came round to put it on. The cafe is wanting. Not awful, but below average and not what I would expect from a spa. The staff were not awful, but they really could not a toss. There was also no ice room - very much a first world problem but again, it is a spa. The gym was actually great. No complaints at all there.
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym! Friendly and very professional instructors. I highly recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Lovely well equipped spa set in a beautiful location. Had a spa day with facial and massage + lunch. Service was excellent.
Fantastic experience: Cannot fault our experience at Bannatyne in weybridge for our spa day. We were warmly greeted by a lovely receptionist who checked us in and explained the day. We got changed into our robes and waited for our treatments (lava shell back massage, leg massage and facial). Our therapists Georgia and Millie were so lovely and our treatments were fantastic. We left feeling super relaxed and enjoyed a couple hours using the spa facilities which were all clean and well maintained. After reading other reviews I was sceptical before our arrival but we couldn't of had a better experience for our spa day. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.
Negative experience: Book 1 day spa each for myself and friend. Both drove 1hr 30.mins to be told only had gym pass. Receptionist no empathy or willing to unstand. Bantanyne profit 80 percent from us not right
Fantastic experience: Had a spa day today and the treatment and facilities were fantastic
Negative experience: Not the most hospitable, not a proper ‘spa’ experience, and not prepared for pregnant women. Told them in advance I was pregnant and wanted a massage. When I arrived was told that massage was not possible due to ‘timing issues’. I tried to clarify what this meant and why I could not simply just have a massage lying on my side, but a clear explanation was still not given. I was forced to have an alternative treatment, huge shame as I was desperate for some relief from the back pain I have been having. The foot massage I had was barely 5 minutes long, and no pressure. Also charged extra for borrowing towels and robes even though there was no advance warning to bring your own or be charged. Staff did not show any understanding or offer meaningful solutions. Atmosphere more like a gym with treatment rooms than a spa. Spend your money elsewhere and be much happier.
Fantastic experience: Idyllic place to relax and unwind. Tasty choices for lunch accompanied by a salad with dressing on the side. The facilities are spacious and clean. Whilst the staff there are welcoming and helpful. It was my second visit and I’ll definitely return soon.
Positive experience: Great pool and spa and location Staff are helping and friendly. Adequate gym, however spin bikes need to be replaced.
Positive experience: Firstly the massages are fantastic. No complaints there. Sun-loungers are a issue. The Zen Garden is nice, however there is a scattering of loungers mixed with tables and chairs. Some of the loungers are broken or missing covers. The system in place is towel and reserve, I'm OK with this, but they need to provide more loungers for this system to work. We sat in two chairs, all of which were empty, waiting for a lounger. There were 5 empty loungers, which we were unable to use. Some areas are a little run down, missing glass (floor to ceiling panel) in the outdoor seating area, a few chairs & loungers are well used. Some seats missing cushions. Small things like that are simple enough to address which would improve the experience, especially for a 'treat yourself' Spa Day
Negative experience: Facilities are decent but customer service is so bad. No one picks up the phone or responds to emails and they don't do things when they say they will. Their app is terrible so you rely on the staff to book anything. So beware if you purchase monthly treatments in advance because you need them to book it for you. They will likely ignore you via phone and email and then conveniently say there are no appointments left and you have to forfeit your money paid for that month. The sessions are also not as advertised: they say 55 mins but are actually 35 because the therapist will make you lie there and wait for her to tidy up etc and include that in your session time.
Positive experience: The staff were nice when we went for a swim and massage but the coffee machine was out order and was a bit tired in place
Fantastic experience: Katelyn did a fantastic job with a facial and back massage. I booked again for next weekend. Highly recommend Katelyn and the facility.
Positive experience: As a members gym it is a great medium price gym for the facilities without breaking the bank. The classes are really fun and well managed with the easy to use booking system. The spa facilities are good. Its a relaxing place to unwind.
Positive experience: Attended after booking a Virgin Experience voucher for the lava shell body massage - a warm welcome from the team and the therapists Georgia and Charlie were excellent. Was a bit nervous before coming, having never had had a massage, but I'd now consider rebooking (and buying vouchers to gift to others). The jacuzzi was nice too - though we attended on a weekday so not too busy, I can see it can fill up quickly if on a weekend
Negative experience: I have booked an appointment to look at the place as I was really keen on joining it because they have the facilities that I wanted to use. I was very excited and looking forward to this appointment, but unfortunately, I came across a few issues: 1. When I booked an appointment online, I did not receive confirmation of the booking. I still took a chance and went there. 2. When I arrived, I told the receptionist that I had an appointment and she let me through the gate, there was no-one waiting for me that time so I asked the receptionist is someone will be with me to show me around, then receptionist told me to sit down and said that someone will come shortly. I was waiting for 15 minutes, but nobody came, there was nobody at the reception and I decided to walk around the place by myself, I took a short tour and came back to reception to say that I've looked around and leaving, nobody was there again, I've waited for 5 minutes and didn't get any attention, I could only hear the laugh, chat and watching videos on the phone noise in the back room. I've left and felt very disappointed that I've waisted my time and received zero customer service. Place looked very basic, a bit dated, nothing impressive, gym is small but had nice equipments that were not very clean. From my experience, I wouldn't go there again
Negative experience: Updated review - 10th Feb 2024 -2nd visit to this health club. My previous experience was a good one, but this one was a letdown because the therapist was sick and coughing on me throughout my treatment. She didn't wear a mask or follow appropriate infection control procedures. To be honest, if I have a cough and I cannot stop coughing, I would not want to put others at risk, especially during a close contact treatment. I asked, "Are you sick? I do not want to get ill" To which she said "no I just have a blocked nose". I subsequently got ill, of course, and when I complained via email, the spa manager said she spoke to the therapist who said she was well enough to come back to work. What a great way to deal with a complaint. Poor management. I won't be coming back here. Things have gone very downhill in only a years time. Feb 2023 - What a great spa experience for me and my mum. The facilities are lovely, and the lava shell massage treatment was to die for
Negative experience: If I could I would give it 0 stars!! Worst experience with this spa in weybridge. Don't EVER buy a Groupon or virgin experience with them because by the time they can book you in is one year later, and this is if they will ever pick up their phone! I have called maybe a 100 times for weeks and weeks but no answer. I once used them years ago (finally managed a spot after sending emails back and forth 50 times) and it wasn't a nice experience at the end, so went through the pain of trying to book availability and didn't enjoy it at all, massages weren't nice, pool was cold.
Negative experience: Never answer the phone, mens swimwear dryer out of order for 2 weeks without notice, 1 shower in wet room out for 1 week, in the past week - pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam rooms and showers (just a drizzle), all out of order.......you get the picture. I appreciate they may be repairing faults and/or making improvements but the communication between club and members is non existant at best!
Positive experience: Treatments were brilliant but jacuzzi needs updating and cleaning and seating area around could do with updating also. Disappointing food area for a spa
