Areas for improvement:
- Facilities, especially in the changing rooms and gym area, require cleanliness and maintenance upgrades.

In summary, while Everlast Gyms - Liverpool Rose Lane provides a solid gym experience at a budget-friendly price, enhancing cleanliness and upgrading facilities could significantly improve overall satisfaction.
Everlast Gyms - Liverpool Rose Lane: Opinions
Positive experience: TL;DR: Horrible cleanliness. Lackluster machines. Pool, sauna and steam screams for a sprucing up. Desperately needs a refurb, gym and pool as well. Could do with a sauna etiquette enforcement. Had some hopes after the Everlast takeover for a refurb and an upgraded cleaning regimen but apart from paining the interior pretty much all black, everything's stayed largely the same. The hygiene of the changing rooms is atrocious. The air vents haven't been hoovered in probably a decade. The AC neither - see pic attached. Even the floor is dusty, grimey, I genuinely don't dare stand on it barefoot for a single second. 30-40% of lockers have doors torn off or wonky. The pool area / sauna / steam area desperately need a refurb although I think one might be on-going. Doesn't help that people routinely put their feet up on the seats with slippers on - meaning the bottom seat of the sauna is just absolutely minging. Also nobody brings any towels / sauna blankets to soak up their sweat as you would see in nicer saunas, so you're basically sitting in the residual, evaporated sweat of a couple thousand users. Gym area is decent but under-equipped if you're looking to do weights. Due to the low price, the gym can get very busy with kids who are experimenting with lifting all sorts - which is fine - but can take up a lot of kit, and often you'll struggle to get access to the single squat rack or the one single deadlift platform. Wouldn't mind even taking a 50% price increase if it meant a clean gym and changing room, newer machines a clean, well-maintained pool/sauna/steam area.
Negative experience: One of the worst gyms goin
Positive experience: Great place for swimming pool, sauna and steam room lovers. Not too much crowdy - long opening hours.
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: Great gym off Rose Lane, Liverpool. Family friendly with a swimming pool
Positive experience: Don’t get me wrong it’s not the most glamorous gym in the world but for what you pay here, the value for money is really good. The pool is often empty/quiet so lots of space to swim, nice range of classes- love the yoga classes with Siobhan especially. All the staff are super friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble
Negative experience: I know this gym is cheap compared to others and I havnt been for a good while the jacuzzi has gone the pool has a weird liner inside it as I assume they don’t want to pay to resurface the pool walls and floor the men’s showers stay on for about 5 seconds on a push button and the gym equipment is rather tired Id happily pay a extra fiver a month for better facilities Not sure why the jacuzzi has gone assume it’s cost saving
Fantastic experience: Awesome GYM, good atmosphere, nice and clean swimpool, steam & souna bath
Positive experience: 20 quid a month for a nice little sauna, steam room and a swimming pool. Plenty of cool classes and staff members are overall helpful and personable. It is a shame, however that the gym part itself is rather lacklustre. There isn't much free weights and the machines are also quite sparse. All of them decent quality and well maintained mind you, but having no dedicated bench and only one squat gate is annoying. Gets really busy with all the schoolkids 3-7pm and older people around 10am.
Negative experience: A very basic gym..30%of lockers are damaged and unusable. Kit is adequate. Gym is very small. Air con is v poor, and the gym has the feel of an underground bunker. Most staff are friendly . (and apparently, its ok to spit into the waste bins . Vile)
Fantastic experience: Lovely location. Cheap membership. Pool is great.
Negative experience: 4 men where fighting in the gym, using weights as weapons, blood everywhere, and not a staff member in sight! Was dangerous and I would avoid at all costs!
Positive experience: I have been using a class and swimming and so far the experience has been excellent
Fantastic experience: Good
Fantastic experience: Great gym for the price.
Positive experience: Overall it's a good gym with everything you might need including a pool, sauna, and steam room, especially for the monthly price, but it needs some improvement. The male showers and changing rooms are always dirty and the steam room is sometimes not working for weeks. The staff there are always nice and friendly so I would recommend it. Update: the jacuzzi has been replaced with a seating area like the ones on the beach. It looks weird but what can we do?
Positive experience: Staff mostly great cleaning not very good showers and floor in pool and in bath water need attention sorry
Negative experience: They need a system to stop the young lads from using the disabled toilets. Just lazy ! We attend swimming lessons with my grandson who is disabled and can never use the facilities due to the young lads using it. They actually have the cheek to tell you to use the main changing as they want to use it. My grandson doesn’t like the main changing rooms so sometimes we Have to miss our lesson due to not being able to access the swimming pool. Management certainly needs to address this as most partners have made comment to how disappointing and disrespectful this is . Young family’s & disabled family’s who can’t use the given access is just not on.
Positive experience: Gym could be updated but it all still works, would love a stair master. Good amenities as you have the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room. However steam room has been out of service for a while, things seem to take a while to be fixed. Great and friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Great
Negative experience: Brilliant gym, no posers and ego lifters, - lovely staff, only downside is the “steam room” is a storage room thats been “out of order” for months
Positive experience: Next to rose Lane train station. Nice pool, gets busy in the evenings
Negative experience: Very careless management, scams and fraud business they run. From my own experience they took money from my account after I did successfully cancellation the deal we had. I don’t know how they were able to And still ignoring my calls, tryna sort it out.
Positive experience: Decent sport centre. The cafe is good aswell,
Fantastic experience: Great space, gym, pool, steam, sauna and hot tub. Staff are lovely and Jos cafe is great too for a little something afterwards
Positive experience: Friendly staff and a great sauna and steam room.
Positive experience: Good value, clean gym
Negative experience: Showers had no soap in the dispensers for five days, mentioned this to staff very day for five days and nobody bothered to sort it, no hand wash in toilets, floors dirty and constantly wet in the changing rooms, toilet roll dispenser broken - o post covid world and the place is abandoned - seen the same locker room door broken for six months and nobody bothered to repair it, now the car park full of ever deepening potholes damaging cars and no desire to fix them either - the place is unloved by the management - although staff are nice
Negative experience: Been awaiting a manager to get back to me for over 4 months. Got seriously ill from the dirty pool.
Positive experience: Staff really friendly and helpful, good atmosphere, parking can sometimes be a bit tiresome, but generally I like the place
Fantastic experience: I would recommend the Aqua class, it's very good and great for your well being and health. Lovely atmosphere and everyone is very friendly and Shirley makes everyone welcome.
Negative experience: I was greeted by 3 screaming males swearing all over the front desk watching a laptop screen, emailed the managers for advice on this and he greeted me with the same stinking attitude, 1 Poor girl on the desk stressed out dealing with everyone while the males acted about like prat’s
Fantastic experience: Petite salle de gym avec piscine, spa, sauna dans un quartier de Liverpool (UK). Personnel souriant et compétent. Possibilité de boire un verre et grignoter. Après l'effort, le réconfort...
Positive experience: We went down to check it out .looks sound .wy wife has joined and she is going to refer me so I get a from month. 20 pounds a month .looking forwards getting going and also doing somthing together with my wife away from the golf ha
Fantastic experience: It's not very flash, the machines aren't the brand spanking new ones you get in high end places. It's a little run down and dingy, but it's got absolutely everything I need and it doesn't attract posers. Staff are really friendly and helpful and I can't fault it. If you want to get in, get a good work out and get out this is absolutely the place for you. If you want to film a tik tok then do one.
Positive experience: Convenient, great atmosphere
Positive experience: Can't complain for the price which includes gym swimming hydro pool, steam room, sauna and classes some of the machines could do with updating and some more kettlebells other than that value for money. Update : the hydro pool/jacuzzi has now gone and been replaced with a lounge area which is disappointing. Cost cutting exercise I heard
Positive experience: My favourite gym is Liverpool. I love the atmosphere, the atitude of the staff and reapect found among the members. Plenty of gym appliances and the jacuzzi and pool are just a lovely addition. I have been a member for many years.
Positive experience: Big, scary, terrifying, raunchy, silicious, quirky and stanky.
Fantastic experience: Staff are amazing friendly and helpful, and they have a really good coffee shop lots if choice with very good prices, always a warm welcome.
Fantastic experience: Love it there . £20 per month , you get all classes included and the use of pool, sauna and jacuzzi.
Positive experience: I'm very disappointed with how the place has been allowed to grt into a bad state of repair.. It is very shabby and grubby. Lights flickering in pool area, rusted screws in shower cubicles, tiny clock in pool area, so if you're sight impaired you can't see it. Come on sort itbout sports direct!
Fantastic experience: Nice, friendly, clean, good equipment , great exercise classes.
Negative experience: Awful management. Avoid at all Costs
Negative experience: Everything's look like it's going to be down absolutely dirty building the manager doesn't want to do nothing with that and owner doesn't want to do any changes plenty dust I'm stop Walking in this gym jacuzzi doesn't work because they wanna save money
Fantastic experience: Has everything you need, gym swim sauna showers and jacuzzi. Never tried the classes but very affordable. I would recommend.
Negative experience: Gym rubbish alway people on stuff and to little dumbbells better how it was back in the day
Negative experience: Dirty and understaffed, Jacuzzi never worked in the 6 months I was a member, sauna and steam room always out of order. I used the gym a few times and swam a few. Pool is so dirty you cannot see beyond a couple of meters. Took my son once and never again. Terrible terrible place. I dont think it's the staff because they all seem to be doing multiple jobs like staffing the reception, doing classes and cleaning. Sport direct invest a bit more in some cleaners and general staff and I would consider joining again.... it was only £20 a month and even then its not worth it.
Fantastic experience: My favourite place. It has a gym And pool. reasonably priced. The staff and people who use it are all very friendly.
Positive experience: A quaint gym that has everything you need at affordable prices. It has a pool, a steam and a sauna room, a jacuzzi - not been working for a while though - and a very good variety and frequency of classes. The equipment area in the gym has a good selection of equipment too. There is a studio for the classes and a spinning area. The changing rooms and showers could do with a bit of TLC though. Some extra cleaning would do, while maybe adding one of those bathing suit dryers could be an extra, yet very useful, touch. By far one of the best gyms in Liverpool!within a medium price range you get all the perks of the higher priced ones.
Positive experience: Slow service at the tills. Cheap items for sale so good.
Positive experience: Staff great but place looking a little tired now
Fantastic experience: I joined a couple of weeks ago and I am delighted so far, classes are great, staff are friendly!
Negative experience: Poor management. Poor quality of services.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and great place
Fantastic experience: Great place
Positive experience: The new online pickup section is really efficient. No real wait time. Just scan your QR ticket and parcel arrives in lift.
Fantastic experience: Friendly gym. Although not blessed with all the necessary equipment, it's still a great place to train without the usual egos and blirts you'd find elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Perfectv
Fantastic experience: Amazing has done everything as expected for me
Negative experience: Would not recommend sports direct fitness to anybody, I was a member for nearly 5 years and cancelled in October to join a new gym. I was not notified about there being a 3 month clause when you leave which I think is pathetic in its self because my contract was over anyway, they still charged me £25 a month for 3 months and when I asked for a refund they denied me it, even worse it’s a pandemic and no one has money as it is!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for several years. I enjoy it staff are friendly and as helpful as they can be. Facilities are good overall pool sauna etc are well maintained and great value for money which is what you want. Some machines are slightly outdated and would be nice to get some new ones soon.
Fantastic experience: Great .Friendly staff. Get there.
Negative experience: Floors need re-doing there is black mould in the steam room. Seems either the sauna, steam or jacuzzi is not working. Changing rooms are dirty too, with shoddy lockers.
Positive experience: Have to wait if busy
Positive experience: I go this gym but what I don’t understand is every other sports direct gym across the country has all brand new equipment and this one still has all old equipment all they seem to get is new treadmills which get barely used anyway they really need to get new equipment I’ve left this gym now due to that reason and gone to any time fitness which has amazing equipment just a heads up for anyone.
Fantastic experience: Not sure where the people are going who are saying the staff are rude. I've been going here for a few months and the staff have been nothing but friendly and helpful where necessary. The equipment is all fine, in the whole time I been here I've noticed one item that was out of order for about a week, but there was another of its kind available anyway, so again I have no idea what gym these people are talking about. Bottom line is: £20 a month, gym, pool sauna etc - all decent with decent opening times. Minimum is a five star.
Negative experience: WORST EVER GYM! The hardest working pieces of equipment in this entire gym are the printer and the laminator to create all the OUT OF ORDER signs. Pool is OUT OF ORDER more than its working. The OUT OF ORDER signs on 6 of the 8 static bikes got replaced when the signs got tatty before the bikes got fixed! None of the hair dryers work in the changing rooms. There's never any soap in the showers. Get someone that can manage a gym properly!!!
Fantastic experience: Excellent value for money at £24.99 a month. Amazing atmosphere, great classes and the pool is fabulous. All the staff seem nice and very informative. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Joined here a few weeks ago a bit nervous after hearing some horror stories. But everything so far has been great. Gym, pool, sauna/steam room and changing facilities are all great. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the other members are really friendly (no idiots!) I’d highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Love the pool for my physio
Fantastic experience: My gym love it.
Negative experience: Not great staff. PTs arrogant and unfriendly. Facilities need upgrading.
Positive experience: A bit dated but everyone loves it here and they really make the equipment and facilities last.
Negative experience: if you have kids dont join them, they basically cant do anything but use the pool and the pool is small so if people are doing lengths its impossible for them not to be in way.
Positive experience: Amazing facilities ok staff.
Negative experience: Disgusting changing rooms, with dust inside all the lockers and dead bugs which even though in plain sight, hadn't been removed for over a month. The shower cubicles are clear plastic that's a bit foggy which can be uncomfortable with people walking past to fill up their water. Some of the quipment is faulty (treadmill screens are very laggy and often in different languages. Also, there isn't enough space/equipment for everyone as for some of the equipment there is only one, and it's ethier broken or being used with a long 'queue'(every during off peak times) . It is a real hassle to cancel and they will do anything they can to refuse your cancellation and use shady tactics (however, this is not really specific to this place but the company as a whole). Also, at least in the men's changing room, people walk around naked, which although isn't new to changing rooms, I've never seen so many people , so casual and close walking around naked. The changing rooms have still the previous companies branding from years ago, which just show the lack of care. It's much more expensive that any nearby gym which are are miles better and at those gyms you can cancel anytime. It's not an absolute nightmare there, but it leaves a lot to deal desired. I don't want anyone else to regret going here.
Negative experience: Pool was always tatty and the water strangely murky and now whenever I go it's out of use. Whole place is shabby. I know it's cheap but it shows.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with friendly staff who are helpful
Fantastic experience: Jacuzzi back on pool off
Positive experience: It's local
Negative experience: Not a very good gym as the facilities are often broken the showers a very hot to the point of burning and the managers refuse to turn them down the punch bag keeps getting ruined and again managers seem to do nothing about it my advice to anyone looking for a good gym is go somewhere else
Negative experience: Gym is just in a horrible mess and not very well maintained
Negative experience: Not clean! Staff is unhelpful and rude. They just look for money - not to provide service. Too much people. They take money for kids and later saying: they can't do this, can't do that.
Positive experience: It used to be great but has not been properly maintained since Everlast takeover.
Negative experience: Everything is always out of order, and a lack of equipment
Fantastic experience: Staff member Alice is excellent at her job!! Outstanding customer service and should be promoted into management, I find some of the other staff totally unprofessional and immature. They could really learn a lot from Alice! Who I believe is a Superb role model for all new staff.
Negative experience: Gym not fit for purpose. Wet side is filthy and very rarely has all the facilities working at the same time, hygene is last priority. Management has fed member's false promises about new equipment and a makeover for the last 18 years. If I could rate this gym a zero I would. They show no loyalty to members with regards to basic customer care issues and use no common sense in the running of the place.
Negative experience: The big problem is with the contract and passing on contract info. They do 'top up' their income by having a lot of rules that if broken cost you more. The stm room and sauna are out every winter for a month each. It's obvious its a power saving breakdown. It's great they have a swim pool. Equipment break downs happen but they are repaired in a very slow but steady fashion. Car parking is very tight and damage is a common occurrence. Staff are being paid minimum wage and there is a fast turnover. This leads to a lot of inexperienced staff at the desk. Over all, you get what you pay for but are left wondering where's the rest of it. If it didn't have a pool and wasn't convenient to my house, I wouldn't go.
Positive experience: Generally well kept for a good price.
Fantastic experience: Excellent health club facility. Spacious, clean and has a lot to offer. Gym, group exercise classes, pool, sauna, steam & jaccuzi / spa.
Positive experience: value for money / no frills with small pool and steam room / sauna
Positive experience: Its a great gym and pool - but looks a bit tired , changing rooms need a revamp just a bit tired, gym is great but some equipment damage or out of order, Just needs a bit more investment Opening times are a bit limited at weekends 8 start about 4 5 fibish and week days 630 till 10 It would be great if they did it up a bit
Fantastic experience: Good gym if you’re a student in the area. Cheap considering it’s open until late and you have access to the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. Staff are really friendly and encouraging, and offer many services and personal trainers if you want to get the most out of it.
Negative experience: The place is very dirty and staff badly prepared
Fantastic experience: Nice relaxing
Fantastic experience: Great place
Positive experience: All the equipment and facilities you need. However it tend to break and doesn't get fixed until a few weeks later
Positive experience: Excellent facility for any level of fitness training. Spotlessly clean. Gym has many machines and pool is perfect.
Negative experience: Pretty much a public toilet with exercise gear. Staff are poor quality. Make sure you keep a file of receipts for every transaction and bring your small-print-reading glasses when you sign up because their business model depends on you overlooking things.
