Fantastic experience: Been here for 2 weeks it's been a great experience I am a teenager and have really enjoyed it , the equipment is really good and the areas are very spacious. And also one of the really good workers there is named Scott. He is a really nice man and whenever I needed help on something he has helped me. For my personally this is a gym you should be going to

Positive experience: one of the teacher in swimming a guy with a curly hair is not teaching the kids properly some of the parents are complaining not only me as he just walking and not paying attention to the kids, always see him talking to his colleagues and keep the children swimming until the time finishes, he never teach them properly not same of the others! I would suggest that you will change this teacher in our group please !

Fantastic experience: The leisure centre suits my needs perfectly it has a good range of equipment its spacious and the staff are friendly. Dennis always greets you with a smile and is more than happy to help you if needed, the price is reasonable for what they offer, the pool and classes included in the membership fee. On the gym floor mark is always on hand to assist and have a chat if wanted and runs a pretty good HIT session throughout the week. What more could you ask for Overall I enjoy attending this facility and will be a member for a long time to come.

Positive experience: Hi Since you have Olympic lifting classes in the evening, which is amazing, it is worth considering atleast having one set of bumper plates and a 15kg thin circumference bar for the back room which has a lifting platform for the enthusiastic lifters to perform snatch and thrusters which is unable to drop the weights with the plates you have right now and not necessarily safe to do so. Everything else is brilliant and wonderful reception staff as always. The bonus, the telephone service staff is incredibly helpful .

Fantastic experience: I learned to swim here when I was little. Haven’t been back in years, but last week I went for a massage at the spa bit and it was absolutely fantastic. Aline was a miracle worker.

Positive experience: I am a regular at Wimbledon (gym & pool) attending a range of fitness classes. I have been extremely impressed with the HIT & Core Conditioning classes run by Aurora. For context, I am a British Triathlon L2 Coach and have been a member of several gyms over the past 30+ years and experienced many different instructors/styles. Aurora's classes are well prepared, she has the ability to change and adapt the content to the participants on the day. Her explanation/demonstrations are excellent, she brings an infectious natural energy to the sessions to promote the best in the participants. I find all the staff at the facility very helpful.

Fantastic experience: Best classes in Wimbledon! The classes at this gym are truly top-notch, especially the ones with Waz, which are of an incredible quality. Waz is skilled, engaging, and always keep things challenging, which makes every session truly rewarding. Beyond that, the gym itself is great. It’s spacious, well-equipped, and even has a swimming pool.

Fantastic experience: This is a great centre, I always have a positive experience when I go there. It’s a good variety of fitness classes which all help me to feel stronger. I really enjoy Waz’s BodyPump class on Thursdays and BoxFit. Waz is so enthusiastic and motivating and will push you to your limits. I would highly recommend his classes to anyone and everyone, I have noticed such a difference in myself like strength, focus, flexibility, fitness and posture.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to highlight a very special instructor at this gym, she consistently goes above and beyond others. Her amazing attitude, energy and enthusiasm, the genuine love for her classes and those that participate in them. An absolute credit!!!! Her HIIT/CORE classes are so much fun with *great music* Everyone is always made to feel welcome, whether you are an absolute beginner or a part of the furniture. Aurora makes the effort to remember your name and get to know you and your fitness level, motivating you to achieve your best. I just wish she carried out more classes...

Negative experience: Full of hair,not enough showers during the lessons ,not enough changing cabinets and only two hairdryers.

Negative experience: I was considering this place for my 4yo swimming classes. I called the place a few times and after waiting quite some time to be able to talk to an actual person, I was informed that for 4 year olds they have classes of up to 30 children with only one swimming coach. Probably the most unsafe environment I could think of, so I just hang up after that and will choose a properly safe swimming school.

Fantastic experience: Better Wimbledon is my favourite gym, it just has a great all round balance. I had an induction with Aurora this week who adds a new energy/dimension to the gym. She was knowledgable and patient with me. I really appreciate her time and the adjustments she gave me that I'll implement into my training. Merci Prof

Fantastic experience: Great place. Waz is a brilliant class instructor. I really enjoy his box fit and cycling classes. Very motivating and to the point, no messing around. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Annoying car park at the back of the centre, you will have to walk round to get to the entrance. Nice staff, dirty toilets in the female changing room all the time. Lots of park and pay around which is free after 6.30

Positive experience: Staffs very friendly and helpful. I have been there for swimming only.5 times so far. Pool temperature was perfect. I like it. Why I don't give five stars, because I always saw some disgusting things under the pool. It should be more clean.

Positive experience: This is my third visit. Really lovely facilities and friendly staff. The only let down was the constant chitter chattering from some of the customers which I guess can't always be prevented.

Fantastic experience: Dennis is an absolutely positive individual, caring always asking to see how people are and goes above and beyond to help people. The gym facilities are very clean, Dennis and his staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. No negatives , a well rounded gym.

Positive experience: I go to Morden Leisure always, but I have been 4 times to Wimbledon and did not like the change rooms. The one on the ground floor is small, has only 3-4 changing cubicle and not enough space to get changed,specially during aqua aerobics as we have several mums with their babies trying to get changed also. Also we pay membership and I do not agree to pay 20p for lockers as they are not returned to you once open. If I use it for 5days in a week, my monthly membership will be £4 extra a month. The lockers should be the same as the Morden center , £1 coin refundable.

Positive experience: Great place for a swim and gym. Gym’s in an old swimming pool with the new pool alongside. Often not very busy so plenty of space. Big. Open space so be prepared for it to be a bit cool!

Positive experience: Nice and fresh venue and clean showers. The great thing is that they have a Boditrax scanner in site

Positive experience: The spa facility is decent. We had very warm welcome from the reception Tisha, she was very kind professional and helpful.

Positive experience: I enjoyed swimming for all at the weekend. It wasn't too crowded and the pool temperature was very warm, which may be not perfect for more intense swimming, but for me at the time it was great. The staff were nice. The downside is that the changing rooms are pretty cold and the floors looked quite dirty.

Positive experience: The place is 99% good, but some swimming master (?) a young, blond guy spoke to us, like we would be prisoners and he would be the king. If I pay £14 for 40 minutes lessons, please try to be polite with the elderly ladies. If I have opportunities I go to other place. Trisha, Mark, "Lionel Richie" and a lot of other employees are super kind!

Negative experience: Most overpriced leisure centre in London After all their price increases post covid, besides a lick of paint and a few dumbells, unfortunately nothing else has improved Be careful you don't get some school kids slamming the changing room doors in your face. We told them several years ago to add glass panels to the doors so people could see each other coming through rather being slammed into, unintentionally by another changing room user There are way too many supervisor / managers who don't do anything at this club. You don't have cleaners or enough staff then the 'managers' should be cleaning, there's plenty of them on the premise Equipment are filthy and have been for several years Showers are disgusting with not enough cubicles at busy times No money was spent on improving the changing room facilities or shower water pressure There has been several treadmills which have been out of order since last year! This leisure centre has been very poorly managed and neglected from head office For the same money you can join much better gyms in Wimbledon

Fantastic experience: I heard that I can hit the gym even if I'm 15, if that's true I'm gonna join that would be the best, I only wanna know the price and the time that I can come.

Fantastic experience: My daughters have been going swimming for the past year, not only did their confidence in the water improve so much, but they also learned a life skill. Thank you to Ezequil for mentoring and supporting my daughters.

Negative experience: I am very lucky to enjoy my centre- staff are very supportive. Unfortunately Better customer service is so poor. When you get a membership you cannot book any sessions for 1 week. I have just got annual membership. I swim at 6.30. For 1 week I will have to take whatever slot is available. The customer service team says otherwise- reality is opp. If you want to attend a class- you will have to wait for 1 week. Whilst Better earn interest on your membership fees

Fantastic experience: I have thoroughly enjoyed the swimming lessons I've been attending with my baby daughter for the last 6 months. Dennis on the front desk has been really helpful and the Linda our instructor has also been brilliant. Thanks very much

Negative experience: Very poor experience, two swimming lessons were cancelled at short notice, but no attempt was made by Better to refund the cost. Ultimately had to chase them for three weeks to get my money back. Shocking.

Positive experience: Had changed for good, refurbished and looks better. Gym is pretty good. Swimming pool still need a painting,needs swimming teachers in the water helping (there is no covid distance so no excuses) . I think they are not well paid that why you can see so many new faces every other time .

Positive experience: The spa facilities are run down, both the ice machine & cold water bucket have been broken for over a month! No date of when there to be fixed and no compensation on price we’re having to pay. Staff are fantastic but management need to get onto fixing things.

Negative experience: Staff here are nice enough, facilities are good enough but corporate is making so many cuts to the level of service. Can't even call the gym directly, if you need to call the gym you're expected to contact head office and ask them to get the local gym to call you back. Opening hours aren't great either. Held closures over 2022/23 winter period due to energy prices, meanwhile they installed multicoloured LEDs into the main gym which look completely out of place. Edit: Additionally, they opened late and closed early (4 less hrs per day) the week prior to xmas 2023. Customer service said this is to give staff more time off before xmas, which I doubt. Reduced hrs on the standard holidays is expected but not for the entire week leading to xmas from 18th. No notice was given either (unlike last yr) so I, and I suspect many other, people arrived at closed gym.

Fantastic experience: Being a regular gym member here for nearly 5 years. Even with 1 house moving during this time meaning double of the driving distance however I did not change to somewhere more local to me because I love this gym and can’t get away with this familiar vibe

Negative experience: Great swimming pool but changing rooms showers and toilets need cleaning! Booked in advance for a session but couldn’t get through the turnstiles, then the receptionist let somebody behind me through first and said I was late for the session as meant to be there 10 mins before session starts or 10 minutes into the session! Customer service here is very slow. This is completely inflexible! Coming along in my lunch hour whilst working full time I might not be able to be there within 10 minutes of the start time, but seeing as I’ve paid already I don’t mind as I wanted to swim for 30 mins only not 50mins. Also I don’t see why you have to book in advance at a council leisure centre, no other pools do this post covid. The website is also poor and there seems to be no swimming after 11.30am on a Friday for the general public! What about lunchtime swimming for local adults on a Friday? Tooting leisure centre by comparison is a much busier pool but has way more cleaners and the changing rooms and showers although old as well seem cleaner and there is no restrictive times you have to get there by in your session, if you’ve booked you’ve booked.

Negative experience: Had a swimming lesson booked and had to leave almost as soon as I got there as the changing rooms were disgusting and I couldn't get the lockers to work.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in the area by far. Super nice vibe, friendly staff, not too busy but not ~dead~ either. Loads of equipment and recently updated.

Fantastic experience: My kids have been going to swimming lessons for over a year (different ages), and the support we have received from the staff is incredible, always encouraging them to be better and to advance in their learning (swimming levels). The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Ezequiel, who has been a critical player in my youngest’s journey.

Negative experience: I have attended Better Leisure Centres for years in different locations and I have never left a negative review or experienced such poor customer service like at the Wimbledon leisure centre. The overall gym and pool are OK. Cleaning and hygiene standards could be better. I don't understand why wearing swimming caps is not mandatory in the pool. It's very unpleasant to have other people's hair wrapped around your arms and/or feet while swimming. Customer service is extremely poor. With the exception of very few staff members, the majority are rude and uninterested in listening to customers, and they do not seem to care about their jobs. Often it feels like there is no difference between swimming for ALL and swimming for FITNESS because staff overlooking the pool allow members of the public to do almost everything during swimming for fitness sessions. (e.i standing in the middle of the pool doing aqua fit exercises with weights, allowing young guys unable to swim to play and splash water and so on...) Maintenance of the facilities is slow; a simple hair dryer took months to replace, and the current out-of-order shower will probably take even longer. Scanners at the entry gates were out of order for a few days and staff members at reception let membership holders in through a different door saying that everyone will be marked as attended.....my sessions are now showing as unattended, fortunately these sessions did not involve any penalty. In comparison to the poor customer service experienced in the gym and the swimming pool, the SPA centre offers a far better customer service with a professional, friendly, polite and approachable team. Five stars to the SPA team. I'm seriously considering switching centre

It's a pleasure coming to Better Wimbledon for the kids swimming lessons - the lessons are great and the swimming teachers are doing an amazing job ! Highly reccomend !

Negative experience: I haven’t had a great experience. I took my daughter here for swimming for fitness at 6:30 on a Wednesday morning there was a lifeguard (I cannot remember the name) he was constantly focused on my daughter (12) and not paying attention to anyone else. At the end he took my daughter out of the pool and made unpleasant comments about her swimming saying that she had to get out although I had payed £5.60 for that particular session we ended up leaving at 6:40 and are very disappointed and unhappy about the unprofessional manner he was talking being a person from a multicultural background in my perspective I wonder if he would to other cultures in the same way.Wednesday 9th August 2023

Negative experience: My mum has limited mobility so used the hoist to get into the pool today. On the way out of the pool, the hoist powered out and my mum was left sitting in a wheelchair in the hoist for over 20 minutes whilst staff tried to resolve the issue. After some time my mother started to become quite tearful and worried that she may fall into the pool, so a kind man (who was with his two daughters) said to the members of staff that this woman seems to be quite distraught so it might be a good time to call in some additional help. This comment enraged the manager who began to say "what does this have to do with you", then further said to the dad (in front of his two girls) that he should come outside and resolve this issue (i.e. fight it out). This altercation was witnessed by a few parents and their children. This was quite disappointing, considering this man (a medical professional) was simply expressing concern for my mother's safety, but also concerned that this could happen to anybody and not be swiftly and safety resolved.

Fantastic experience: Clean and spacious gym. They offer a good selection of fitness classes and swimming classes. Dennis at reception is so lovely and always very helpful. A big thank you to Mark as well for delivering outstanding classes. There is always a great atmosphere in his classes.

Negative experience: Spa facilities were great - I went during the weekday afternoon so luckily it was not too busy. The receptionist was very friendly too. I also booked for a full body massage (60mins) and a scalp and head massage (25mins). My therapist Sylvia was friendly and checked in multiple times during my massage to enquire if pressure was ok and if I was ok with her doing my feet and face. Unfortunately, I would say I've had better massages in other places for similar prices. The scalp and head massage was more of holding the head than an actual scalp massage (included massaging of face). The body massage was ok, but felt like more time/technique could have been dedicated to the back. Also it seems like the massage wasn't for the full 60/25mins. Would recommend for the spa, but not for massage.

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out and Tesha’s lunch time group cycle classes are amazing.

Fantastic experience: The Wimbledon Leisure Centre is an excellent local sports facility, recently revamped and upgraded, the gym is awesome and the 30m pool is brilliant, also worth noting the staff are always very polite and helpful too!

Fantastic experience: Great equipment and relaxed atmosphere. Dennis is really welcoming at reception and the gym feels welcoming without being overly social.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. The swimming pool has plasters and whatnot inside, the ladies’ changing room is filthy, hair everywhere and slippery floors. And in winter they did not keep the temperature warm. At some point, my friend and I had to get out as we were feeling too cold (even though we were trying our best to warm ourself by swimming). With us there were a couple of families with young children, one family left because their children had purple lips from the low temperature. We emailed the leisure centre and they tried to cover themselves by stating that they check the temperature regularly and adjust it according to legal standards. Shame because they have such potential. One good thing about them is that they have lots of parking spaces.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has recently started swimming lessons this month. As expected the first several times attending I had various questions regarding parking, general information about booking/ changing classes etc. Every time I have approached the front desk to make these enquiries a member of staff in particular ‘Dennis Reid’ has always been helpful, very friendly and approachable. He’s always made me feel at ease and is genuinely willing to help

Negative experience: This gym falls short of its value for the price they charge. For beginners, it can be quite disappointing to discover only a single pair of dumbbells available. Furthermore, during peak hours, it becomes a challenge to access the bench as individuals tend to monopolize it for excessively long periods, sometimes up to three hours. However, the gym does redeem itself with its engaging and well-structured classes, although there are only a few of them. While the remaining facilities and services are acceptable, they do not particularly stand out.

Positive experience: The facilities are good and the staff are really friendly and helpful. However, the gym etiquette at this gym is extremely poor. I go here regularly and it blows my mind how many people leave dumbbells lying around, do not unrack weights from the machines or the bars, hog several pieces of equipment at once… I understand when people new to the gym do not know any better, but a lot of the people who behave in this way look like they are not new to lifting weights. It is a real shame because otherwise it is a nice gym.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting behavior from Hannah. This person should work in prison, not at the reception or customer service. Even if a new customer misunderstood the rules, It’s hardly acceptable to shout at people.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff and facilities. Lewis, Adam, Ian and all of the team go above and beyond to help. We had a whale of a time!

Negative experience: Decent amount of equipment and I find it’s not too busy during lunch hours on week days. However, I’ve been cleaning the floor mats (and all equipment, but I’ve noticed it most with the mats) after use, and the tissue comes off near black. Makes me question whether they’re being cleaned by the staff at all. Also, I’m paying for a membership that includes a spa, however it wasn’t until after I signed up that staff told me there was no spa included at this location. Misleading as I was told about the health suite when I looked around before hand, and it wasn’t explained that this was a separate thing that you have to pay for.

Fantastic experience: I had a lovey experience from the moment I walked in till I left! The centre looks amazing, the last time I visited was 4/5 months ago. I booked in for a Pilates class and decided to end the day with the Spa. As I booked for the Spa, i was greeted by the lovely Spa receptionist Tesha, who was extremely helpful and attentive during my spa visit. It was my first time at this Spa, Tesha made me feel so welcomed and was able to explain the use of the spa space effectively. I also had the AM (Ray) show me around the new gym and spin class rooms, which encouraged me to indulge in a quick work out before my spa session. I’ll be visiting soon and look forward to joining the classes Tesha recommended

Negative experience: They use the actual gym for classes, taking space AND equipment away from people using the gym. If your ideal gym closes in the middle of the evening, is very cramped and limited equipment even when there's no thievery, this is the gym for you.

Positive experience: Very nice spacious gym, good range and quality of equipment. The Hours it's open are poorer compared to many gyms though other wise I'd give it 5 stars. Been recently renovated as well which is nice.

Fantastic experience: Great centre. Loads of equipment and never have to wait. The swimming pool is good and the changing rooms are always clean. Staff seem friendly and helpful although not had much contact. Definitely better than some of the other local centres I've tried in the past.

Negative experience: Really not great. The lanes get congested as people don’t swim in the lanes which reflect their pace.

Negative experience: The worst gym I have experience in my life, very disgusting behaviour from the staff specifically sian and Dennis very rude and unprofessional people. Please avoid this gym

Negative experience: The gym equipment is overall quite poor however this is not the main reason for the low rating; as one of the staff members called george can often be disproportionately aggressive towards young men (particularly under the age of 16) and interfere with their workouts. He can almost always be seen talking to girls who also are under the age of 16 in an unprofessional and flirtatious manner.
