Negative experience: Enquired about joining this gym - wcontacted e number of times per day & now I now owe them £15 because for not using my day pass .. explained I have personal things going on .. was given attitude. Be nice. You don’t know what people are goingthrough..For a Gym pass ?!

Negative experience: So I took my 3 kids to the pool in the Daventry Leisure Centre. Quite cheap but I was appalled with the locker rooms rubbish everywhere, and the toilets smelt like they have not been cleaned properly! Also I got told by my kids that the staff members during their pool experience were very horrible to them. They got kicked out for jumping into the pool! And they cherry on top my child just now told me that one of the members of staff was being highly inappropriate.

Negative experience: I don't know who is so rich or important but to close changing room due to "private" session is absolute pisstake. Plus poor condition, maintenance and tired look....

Negative experience: It's a filthy place. The changing rooms to the pool are either freezing cold or boiling hot and usually smell of urine. You can't have a proper shower and there aren't enough family changing rooms with baby changing tables (especially being that they offer swimming lessons for babies and toddlers.) It took me three months to get a refund for money erroneously taken from my account after I'd cancelled - several emails, phone calls and visits in person. It's so frustrating that it's run this poorly, as this is the only pay as you go pool in Daventry. They don't do anything with constructive feedback either. They have one good swimming teacher for babies, she's called Becky- I don't think she's an employee of the centre, though. When she's not running a class, the baby swimming lessons are dire and are run by any old lifeguard or receptionist available at the time, it seems.

Negative experience: Really outdated gym with limited facilities and unhygienic pool and changing rooms. The pool is taken up by swimming lessons out of pretty much all work hours unless you want to swim late at night.. hardly a ‘leisure’ centre and still charging over £30 a membership!

Negative experience: My wife takes our disabled son for swimming lessons and the disabled changing room is always locked (yet empty). After various phone calls complaining, they seem to have started to leave it unlocked, but now general staff clearly believe my wife to be a bit of a c*w. There is clearly a very backward culture and a lack of understanding in regards to the needs of the disabled. They’re quite lucky that I haven’t been down in person to complain, as I would be far less polite. I’m not saying all the staff are useless: just 99%

Fantastic experience: There was a problem at the pool to day and watching the staff deal with this makes me know my children are in safe hands of the staff and it was all staff that kicked into training and made sure everyone was safe 100%

Negative experience: This place is meant to be good for your health when in fact its bad for your health due to the mould on ceiling drooping down and dampness- stale and sewage smells lingering through out the gym yet they’re charging premium rates. Needs a good clean up service and a refurb with more affordable prices - opening hours are awful on weekends when people have more time to be active they shut at 18:00. No CCTV cameras for the lockers upstairs which are very old and can easily be broken in to - the place has lost a lot of customer confidence - Please sort it out!

Positive experience: Really clean, friendly staff, half the toilets were out of order. Attended a class and blown away with how big the entrance and whole centre was... hadn't expected that in Daventry. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would happily go back and might even start a membership.

Negative experience: Cold showers and changing rooms,only 2 working hairdryers! I went with my family on Saturday and we were all shivering. Unacceptable really in such weather! Changing rooms are disgusting! But they obviously don't care because we don't have many options in Daventry, so no competition!

Positive experience: Great leisure centre but a bit cold at times

Positive experience: Forever pressing the Shower button, to stingy with the water, not an enjoyable experience after swimming.

Negative experience: Like to say what a wonderful experience at Daventry Leisure Centre but as I have never been there it's a bit difficult. Very annoying to get these review notifications every time I visit the Library. Delighted if you refrain from this practice.

Negative experience: Swimming lessons are a joke. No constant teachers. Constant bad sewerage smell in the changing room and prices put an quarterly. Avoid at all costs. Southam or Brackley would be a far better choice.

Negative experience: Booked online. Got there and no booking. Still charged me £7.50 as it was online. Avoid.

Positive experience: We use it mainly for children's swim classes and they are great. Good pool, plenty of changing rooms and a viewing area, not many showers though. The teaching staff and classes are really good. There are also plenty of other activities and classes available such as a Gym, badminton and Martial arts. Parking free nearby. Selection of vending machines for coffee☕ soft drinks & snacks

Positive experience: As usual we had a great time. Only complaint as usual is the cleanliness. You can't even flush the toilets in the wet changing area!

Negative experience: Daventry Everyone active is disgusting. The dry changing rooms stink and are dirty, the swimming changing rooms are filthy and the soft play area looks like it’s never been cleaned. I took my 1 year old to soft play, the ball pit balls are all squashed, the pads are dirty, there was all grub, dirt and crumbs between the mats, the ceiling tiles are missing or damaged and the carpet is pulled and dirty. You allow people to hold birthday parties in there. You should be ashamed!!

Positive experience: Nice pool, good changing facilities. The small pool was excellent to get my very nervous daughter used to swimming.

Negative experience: water has got even colder than it already was and is not very pleasant for small children .

Negative experience: Swim teacher was good but the rest of the place is a staffing ghost town. Service lacking and constantly dirty. Lifeguards always seem to wear outdoor shoes on poolside when they tell public not to.

Positive experience: Haven't been here since I was 14 went with my fiance to her martial arts class looked totally different to how I remember (good different) but they need to sort the rattling air unit by the main door it's annoying as hell didn't see any "staff" just cleaners

Negative experience: Went for family swim session today only to find the main pool was roped off for aqua aerobics. Disappointing as my grandson’s wanted to swim lengths, spent the entire time in teaching pool.

Positive experience: Attended for a jive dance organised by Ceroc. Bar staff appalling offering me one sixth of a gill (a measure of spirits) for a glass of wine and arguing with three of us in the queue they were right. Beware if you are buying alcohol there!

Negative experience: Cancelled in the 14 days notice period. Still no refund and keep giving me the run around.

Negative experience: FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS WEEK IVE GOTTEN TO THE GYM FOR A 6.30AM OR 7AM VIRTUAL CLASS FOR THE CLASS NOT TO START, PROMPTING ME TO GO TO RECEPTION WHO THEN START THE CLASS 15 MINUTES LATE OR SET THE WRONG CLASS TO START AND NO-ONE KNOWS HOW TO STOP IT FOR THE CORRECT CLASS TO START!!! DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE WAKING UP THAT EARLY AND WASTING PETROL FOR THE FUN OF IT?!! SORT IT OUT!!!

Negative experience: Pretty poor unfortunately. Moved to the area and joined this gym and quite let down. Id like to start off by saying the Staff were all lovely! The absolute WORST part was ZERO aircon for well over a month, I left and it still wasn’t working so god knows when/if it’s fixed. Those 25 degree+ days were ridiculous in there being that it’s an upper floor it was like training in a sauna. I’m too of that Equipment would break and just not be replaced. Then when you want to leave they ask you to come in and discuss it? What’s the point it’s just annoying barrier to try discourage you from leaving. Overall there’s better gyms in Daventry that are cheaper, less busy and better managed.

Fantastic experience: Been here several times and enjoyed every visit. Not overly busy and as clean as ever.

Negative experience: UPDATE: We rang to inform the assistant manager about the incident, she told us that "the family there came every weekend", which honestly just served as an excuse to why these kids should be given no consequence for throwing pool equipment as they're loyal customers. Nobody should be given special treatment. We will now take this even further. Very disgusted. I took my youngest children swimming today, because we booked in for the Disney themed event. Unfortunately it was cancelled, so instead we went for a normal swim. Couldn't fault the lady at the desk as she was very helpful and returned our money, but the lifeguard on duty today was hardly helpful at all. This took place in the training pool while 6 kids decided to play fight and recklessly throw around the pool equipment, which is violation of leisure centre's property as the pool floats and disks belong to the leisure centre. One of the disks hit me just under my eye and landed on my daughter's back. I tried telling the lifeguard on duty what happened, but he didn't seem interested at all. In fact he never told the children to stop throwing equipment, as I never saw anyone go near the kids and just let them carry on being reckless. I then left the pool and had a word with reception, again no problem with the lady as she was understanding, but the lifeguard standing next to her overheard my conversation and said that someone has been to talk to them, and "all they're doing now is throwing disks" - his words. As though that was acceptable for kids to be throwing around disks with powerful force. It hurt when I was hit in the face with one of those disks, imagine if a toddler was in that pool. I'm just so very lucky that it didn't hit my eye directly and missed that by 5cm. Very appalled.

Negative experience: Staff smiling and helpful all the time... good part! Bad part!...Most of the cubicle at the pool are filthy and not fit for purpose..... missing hooks for hanging or locks doesn't work! - need a deep clean and refurb...No music at all at the pool in the morning and with all the old people around ... feel like an old people hospice. Depressing.

Negative experience: Lots of cheating around, worst costumer services, singing the membership they giving different information then they are in real. When u canceling don't expect refund even u paid a 3 months upfront wich u have to do it any way. Just brilliant. Worst gym ever!

Negative experience: Swim timetable on the app and attached PDF is not accurate. Telephoned to find out accurate times and was told it wasn't possible to give me these, so I need to telephone each day I want to swim to find out available times. Really not acceptable.

Negative experience: All very well that you update your facebook page but not everyone uses Facebook you should be updating your main website that majority has access to.

Negative experience: The gym is old and dirty! At £7.20 the entrance, they could invest in a broom! Poor customer service at the building entrance: receptionist prefer finishing her conversation with her colleague rather than acknowledging paying customers (on 12/09/2019 at 10:30am).

Negative experience: Used the pool today, it's ok. Experienced similar issue to some others of website timetable being completely out of date/incorrect. The pool just looks a bit tired and in need of a clean/bleach. Front of house staff were friendly.

Negative experience: As with alott gyms, you get those who take it seriously, and you have the do a few reps and text brigade, people who buy the latest gym clothing,an a twenty five quid water bottle, then sit on equipment yapping, an texting, daventry is particularly bad for this, phones should be banned, or have a section for those who are serious an a section for the texters an yappers

Negative experience: Only got half an hour in the pool as we didn’t realise that all the lanes were taken up for classes, not that the reception staff bothered to mention when we paid on the way in. Did not appreciate being told by a 15 year old boy to “get the f*ck out of our lane” prior to their class starting. We had never been before so had no idea they would be using all lanes, and the instructor didn’t bother to inform us either. We told the instructor it would have been nice to have been told by an adult rather than sworn at by a child, but he couldn’t care less. Like a lot of other people have said it’s clear the staff don’t care. Save your time and go elsewhere

Positive experience: Friendly.. pool needs cleaning

Negative experience: Swimming pool is more often then not shut to public for swimming schools and clubs and actually tired and old. Gym cost around £40 per month and for that you get cardio equipment that lasts broken for weeks and weeks with very lame messages suggesting engineers have been called if they have than I'm not sure where they are travelling from. In terms of resistance equipment this is limited with most of the apparatus have seen better days with stuffing spilling from seats etc. If your considering this gym I would suggest you don't.

Fantastic experience: I lived here for some time and I took my son at Leisure Center Daventry for children activities. It a very good place for children all ages you pay £3 for one hour thirty minutes.

Negative experience: A sports hall should have a temperature of 12-16'C. It should feel cool. The sports hall at Daventry Leisure Centre I would say has a minimum temp of about 24C!!! They are totally clueless when it comes to this. When I spoke to the "duty manager" he said there was NO heating in the sports hall and therefore couldn't be turned off.. Now either he is a liar or and idiot. You can see the space heaters dangling down from the ceiling for goodness sake. The place is a more a mums and tots leisure club rather than a serious sports facility.

Negative experience: Update: I am leaving the post below in place as the story is important. But I wanted to add that the manager of the leisure centre did contact us twice to apologise and was taking action with the team so they handle this kind of situation better in the future. He was great and hope he is successful. Apparently it is not possible to do a zero star review, so reluctantly had to click on the first star. My wife took my daughter and son to the Wicked Wednesday Inflatable session this week, but what a terrible experience. My son who has some learning difficulties fell off the inflatable half way through and called for help, which meant he wasn't allowed back on, even when my wife offered to go alongside him. The treatment of the prepubescent 'life guards, even if they were following strict rules was insulting, smirking and laughing despite our son being in floods of tears and is still distressed hours later. He says he never wants to go back there ever again, heartbreaking. I am writing this review to raise awareness as I will be doing with everyone I can; don't expect you or your children (special needs or not) to be treated with respect at Daventry Leisure Centre. I will be cancelling my and my wife membership as soon as I can. We were also planning on having my son's next birthday there but of course he now doesn't want to go "even for his birthday".

Fantastic experience: Went swimming bank holiday Monday for the first time and was very impressed with the leisure centre. Decided to book my (almost) 6 year old in for swimming lessons. Everyone at the centre was very friendly and professional. Great value lessons, we attended the first one this week and I was very impressed with the set up and organisation.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 star I would. Only having visited this place the once my first encounter today was awful. The woman behind the desk had no clue of the swimming timetable and another girl on another desk was shouting out another time for family swimming. I was told it was 12pm so came back at 12 only to be told it was family swimming at 1pm so I had to take my 13month old son home. Awful service and terrible knowledge by staff. Whilst I was there another chap was kicking off about stupid timetable mix up. Needless to say I don't think i will be returning any time soon unless someone grows some balls and manages this place properly.

Negative experience: No soap in either of the Gents loos. I complained but the guy behind the counter said they were short staffed. How long does it take to fill a soap dispenser? They serve food there as well! Change the manager!

Negative experience: It has the facilities but is not very clean. The pool often has bits of food in it from the "beach area" where mothers and toddlers sit. They seem to be more bothered about school bookings than there members, as the pool often is filled with kids messing around when it is supposed to be adults only swimming. Have re joined Nuffeild at six fields despite it being more expensive. Worth it
