Fantastic experience: Overall, we would rate our stay at a 9 out of 10. The location of this hostel could not be better. It's so central in the city, everything is a very short and manageable walk! We booked a private room with two beds and shared bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, the hallways, shared spaces, and bedding were clean. The showers could have been cleaner, and they need better drainage, but the temperatures and water pressure were great! The information sheet we received upon arrival had us move our belongings to our beds for staff to clean during the day, but when we came back after exploring the city, the room quite obviously had not been vacuumed. Temperatures in our room were good and easy to control. Openable windows were excellent to allow in fresh air. The staff were friendly, and the communal lounging areas and outside courtyard were lovely spaces. Overall, we felt safe, and we had a great stay! If we come back to Bath, we will definitely book here again!

I had to ask a few time to get a portable radiator WIFI can be very sketchy . unreliable No breakfast ! because low season is not great even when the place was full . teabags, cofee powder and toast would have been great

Positive experience: Great location in the centre of Bath, a stone throw away from the main high street. The staff are always available at peak times, and have been friendly and helpful. With the rooms, we weren't expecting much, there was a weird smell in the hallway and the rooms don't have great Internet connection. Given it was a significantly cheaper alternative for 3 days in Bath, I'd recommend.

Fantastic experience: The location is just perfect!

Positive experience: I must say I'm very impressed with this place. Ok it's a little bit expensive for a room without ur own toilet even (but bath seems to be ridiculous prices for accommodation even compared to rest of UK). The room was clean, has a nice sink and wardrobe and bedside lamps and a great view. Very comfortable beds and duvet etc. the lounge has a superb massive LCD TV with Netflix and super comfy couches. Kitchen is well equipped and clean and love the plants and decor they have hanging in the ceiling and walls (the management have really thought about little touches to make this nice ). It's generally clean and well maintained. The gym on site costs £5 for a day pass and is amazing for the equipment, one of the best I've used. The location is great, walking distance to everything. The 1 downside which is why it missed 5 stars, is the fridge - it's pretty small for such a huge place with loads of people and is always packed full of stuff that u can't fit anything in or even get the door closed often. For a small amount of money relatively, they should just buy 2 more of the same fridges so there is plenty of space, it would easily fit and solve this issue everyone seems to be having everyday. Will def like to come back.

Fantastic experience: A great central location in the gorgeous city of Bath. The place is kept really clean, the beds are comfortable with nice bed linen provided. Even a towel if you need one! The communal spaces are kept really clean & tidy & bathrooms are in good condition. The guys who run the front desk are really friendly & always helpful. The old building itself is also really interesting inside. A great comfortable & friendly place to stay.

Akos and Ray were extremely helpful and arranged an emergency room so I could sleep on a dry bed. Their service was excellent, polite and amiable and turned a real frustration into a positive experience

Negative experience: Quite disappointed given that this hostel has a big name in the UK. The rooms were dusty and dirty. Windows jammed and had to be opened with force. For the two days we were in the hostel there was no toilet paper in the toilets. The cherry on the top the showers were clogged and water overflowed from them. Would not recommend until and unless you are really desperate to have a place. Only positives were the friendly and kind staff and the location!

Positive experience: I paid £80 for a one-night stay in a double room with a private shower (25-26/08). Accommodations in Bath (and the UK in general) are often overpriced, so the price here was acceptable considering the location, which was quite convenient. However, the experience was a classic case of "you get what you pay for." The room and bathroom were very basic. Cleanliness was acceptable but not impressive. The biggest issue for me was the bed; it was extremely uncomfortable, with a very soft spring mattress where I could feel the springs poking through, making it hard to find a comfortable sleeping position. The most challenging part, though, was the noise. You could hear absolutely everything both inside and outside the room—people coming and going, doors closing, conversations from the hallways, and even noises from neighboring rooms. On top of that, there were some pipes in the room that made loud noises every time someone used the shower, or perhaps for other reasons, which was quite disruptive. The noises woke me up every 20 minutes, and I had to use earplugs to get some sleep. With earplugs, I managed to sleep a bit better, so I highly recommend bringing a pair if you stay here.

Positive experience: Low WiFi signal on the 3rd floor, needs better cleaning (smelly corridors, dirty bathroom ceilings, dirty floors in the room). Nice view and outside area. Free breakfast.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for one night whilst at an event in Badminton. Had a twin room (shared bathroom) for £75 Room was basic, but clean and with its own sink. Bathroom has 3 showers and 3 toilets. Lots of communal spaces along with a free basic breakfast. Very central to Bath city centre with most of the bars and reataurants just a few minutes walk away. It was a very warm evening so left the window open (no fan or air con). Unfortunately there was a lot of noise from residents in the gardens, so my sleep wasnt the best! I am sure (hope) this is not a regular occurance

Positive experience: Akos was an amazing guy to meet! However WiFi speed is terrible, especially down in the kitchen. The room I stayed in hard a bad smell, not sure if it was one of the guests causing it or the room itself

Fantastic experience: Akos from reception was very kind and helpful - gave me a brief history of Bath and places to see and introduced me to the cutest resident cat. The single room smelled fresh and clean upon entering. The bed was comfy. The communal shower and bathroom was clean. Location in the city centre about 10 mins walk from Bath Spa rail station. Recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: I stayed here as a resident from July 23 to March 24 whilst waiting for a council flat the staff here were amazing putting me in touch with all the necessary people and places to get the help and support I needed and now I'm in my flat after wanting one for around 20 years!!all the staff on reception except for ray very friendly and lifted spirits regularly massive thanks to SAM EMMA AND SARAH in the office you have literally helped me turn my life around so thank you so much keep up the good work!! [I'm not sure this is in the correct place but couldn't find a resident review but really wanted to thank you all] TO anyone who is thinking of using the hotel its not the Hilton!! but is clean tidy and excellent value for money

Positive experience: Nice place to stay at the heart of the city. All attractions are pretty much at walking distance.provides complementary breakfast as well. The property has a nice sitting space with mini library as well.

Fantastic experience: My friend and I stayed here for one night on a Sunday-Monday in the 8 bed female dorm and it was perfect! Couldn’t have asked for better service and facilities for the price! There were two sized lockers available , beds and sheets were clean, beds were comfortable, nice vanity area with blow dryers, the bathroom and shower were clean, we felt safe, very well located, we were able to put our bags for free before and after we checked in to explore Bath! It was an amazing time, you can really feel a sense of community there, there’s a cafeteria where you can cook and microwave food, there was a place to fill up your water bottle. We interacted with 3 receptionists during our stay and they were all amazing and so helpful! Would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Bath, these people make me have hope in hostels!!

Positive experience: The hostel is ideally located. The staff was very friendly. The room we booked was clean but we found out some soil under one of the bedsheet … The bathroom was clean. One of the big downside is that our room had only ONE uk socket. We found an European extension cord in the room. Not very ideal knowing our chargers were obviously uk so we had to share the socket between 4 people. Overall for the price it’s definitely worth it, it’s a great place, there is just room for improvement:)

Positive experience: YMCA is centrally located, very friendly staff. It’s good for budget travelers or backpackers. The only challenge I faced there was no Hot water in any of the showers… water was freezing cold to take bath.

Positive experience: Had a twin room which was fine, clean and beds were comfortable. The toilets are communal and really needed cleaning more often. Apparently the sanitary bin was full and then piled on top in the womens. The men's weren't much better.

Negative experience: Very basic and wouldn’t be keen to stay again. Mattresses/pillows extremely flat and uncomfortable, showers were dirty, almost cold with weak water pressure (weeks ago on another review they wrote about bathroom renovations but they hadn’t occurred), wifi only available downstairs and not in rooms, kitchen area quite dirty, drink vending machine only took coins and no card option (very outdated now!), only one powerpoint in the twin room we stayed in so one person couldn’t charge their devices, room smelt bad upon arrival, no parking available even though there were bays advertised with ‘YMCA guest’ on them. Only positives were location and friendly staff.

Positive experience: This review is for the hostel 9 bed rooms. A great location with lovely staff and we really enjoyed our stay. We'd really recommend the YMCA for a short stay whilst visiting Bath. Things we liked ✅ ●Location. Couldn't be better! ●Size of dorm. Nice to have a makeup area too. ●Privacy curtains on beds. ●Decor (clearly recently decorated) ●Black our curtains in the room. ●Nice and warm. Probably too warm given 11 other bodies! ●Lovely bedding. My duvet and pillow were also fab! Things we didn't like: ●The communal toilets and showers need modernising. They aren't great quality. ●The litter all around the outside courtyard. I'm sure the neighbours don't appreciate it either. Recommendations: ●Dehumidifiers needed in the rooms. Windows were dripping in condensation. Very hard to open. Please look after the building! ●Attention to detail with cleaning outside. ●More cooking facilities. Says multiple microwaves etc but only 1 of each. ●3rd privacy curtain so that the wall side of the bunk is closed off when lights are turned on.

Negative experience: We came to the room we figured out that heating and Wi-Fi are not working in our room(double room, ensute). We spent 2 hours there waiting for heating. (13-14 degrees Celsius inside the room) Receptionist told us that they are fully booked and we have only 2 options, get refund and move to another place or get another blanket as they can do nothing about that. We decided to move out as that was extremely cold inside. We contacted Expedia same day about refund, Expedia could not even call them that day(nobody was replying)

Negative experience: No me gustó para nada. La habitación compartida de mujeres tenía un olor horrible. Los baños compartidos sucios, estuve dos noches y nunca limpiaron el tacho del mismo, y la ducha es sumamente incómoda. Elijo habitualmente hostels para hospedarme y este realmente es malo. La vibra no es buena, nadie interactúa entre si. Los fines de semana sirven un desayuno, es lo único bueno, junto con la ubicación.

Fantastic experience: The hostel is very well located, close to all main tourist attraction of the city. I’ve stayed in a very well equipped single room, simple with all the necessary for my staying. The staff was very kind and helpful and there’s a very basic bit comfortable sharing space for heating-up your food.

Positive experience: Private rooms are excellent value, although very basic. Sink in the room is useful and the view out the back is nice. Quite noisy corridors late into the night with people coming and going.

Positive experience: Rooms are very bad and not maintained. Toilets are not cleaned and and stink diffused into the rooms as well. But location and price were ok.

Negative experience: I'm here right now. I booked a private twin room. The bed is fine. Maybe this is okay for the winter, but right now, it's 90 degrees outside. There is no AC, no fan, nothing. I have a headache from heat exhaustion. There's no water that I'm aware of. The staff were friendly upon check-in, although the process of filling out a paper registration seems a bit old-school. The location is great. Seems like there's a lot to do on premise and the court yard is nice, but I just can't handle how hot it is. For the price, I guess you get what you get but not in 90 degree heat with no water or anything.

Fantastic experience: I stayed for 2 nights ,1/2 september 2023 . The staff were fantastic so helpful, the facilities were first class , the light free breakfast was great ,eat as much as you like. I stayed in a single room 315, very clean ,a comfortable bed and a selection of tea and coffee. Ok there are not toilets in the bedroom but the shower and male toilet areas are functional and clean . The location means you can walk to the cathedral in about 7min ,the court yard is a great place to sit and have a coffee. This is a hostel ,it's not the Hilton, if you want a hotel then go to a hotel . Having stayed in various hostels ,the last being in Budapest this year , I highly rate the Bath YMCA ,for the centre of Bath this is a fantastically priced place to stay.

Positive experience: It's a brilliantly located and really friendly hostel. There was a basic breakfast provided, which was welcome. It is well priced, and an 18 man dorm was by far the best option for our Stag party of 18. A couple of negatives though. I do stay in a variety of hostels. I would say that a number of the duvets were unacceptably stained. The showers were bad, even for a hostel. None of us could figure out how to get a temperature between freezing and scalding. The USB ports, by my bed, did not function.

Fantastic experience: Last minute booking at a hostel due to unavailability of local hotels within my preferred price range. I think that the rooms were more than appropriate for the requested price, and am leaving the review because all the local spots recommended by hotel staff were lovely, and we felt like the hostel manager was serving us the creme de la creme of what Bath has to offer. Thank you for a short but interesting stay - I didn't miss the hotel life while staying on your lovely premises ;)

Positive experience: Great bunk in two bed, room, toilet etc close by...lovely night/day staff only too happy to help, close to bus transport and centre of town computer and wifi available, large communal open space including dining area. Unfortunately not much in the way of kitchen, microwave, kettle, sink, toaster, free tea bags sometimes sugar...wee sticks for stirring tea oh and water fountain. Sometimes a spoon or cup, only one or two tho...

Positive experience: Not bad for the price. If your staying more than one day it might be interesting to meet new people all around the world. But because Bath has a up hill to go this is located in the middle of the hill. If your traveling with a large luggage I do not recommend because of the street is old and hard to walk from the train station even it’s not a long way to go.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the single bedroom for solo travelers. Everything is clean, quiet at night and bed is comfortable. Room is simple but provided everything in need. Can wash in the room and shared shower room and bathroom. To my surprise even have many kinds of breakfast choices. Settled at the center of bath so convenient to walk in the city center.

Negative experience: The location of this youth hostel is great, it is in the centre and really close to the high lights of bath. The rooms were not that great, there was blood on our matras and our bedding. The hygiëne was not that good. The breakfast was simple, it can be a bit more in the future.

Positive experience: My friend and I had a twin bedded room. Room was basic but clean. Showers and toilets were along the corridor but I never saw any other guests in them so no queues. On the Saturday, breakfast was included. Cereal, fruit, toast. We were on the second floor and room was quiet. Good position for visiting Bath.

Positive experience: Some criticism in the reviews are a little harsh. I did not have an issue, all I need is a place to sleep, nothing else and it did its job. Now if you're the type who looks for luxurious hostel rooms with fantastic breakfast service, this is not for you. This is more for those like me who just wants a place to sleep for cheap.

Negative experience: Terrible. We found the only toilet in our floor extremely dirty, when we tell the reception guy about this he informed us that the cleaning lady just left and he was going to tell the night shift about it. Bear in mind this was at 14hs, so there's no cleaning of the bathrooms whatsoever in about 6 hours? Can't get my head around it. Awful.

Positive experience: Great location in Bath, really close to the centre, only a few minutes walking from the hostel. The single room was ready with everything needed. The Hitting system makes it comfortable to stay in the wintertime. The shared bathroom was easy to reach and not crowded. Most of the receptionists were very kind, especially Gerald, who helped me with transport issues always very welcoming with his smile.

Positive experience: Great location central to exploring the main streets of Bath. Friendly reception staff. Simple rooms with beds, sink, wardrobe and bedside table. Linen provided but no towels. Communal bathrooms clean and spacious. Beautiful courtyard area outside entrance. There are communal basic kitchen facilities too like a microwave and kettle. No parking which was a pain as there isn’t any free parking nearby and all the paid parking is time limited. Overall great for the price. We only stayed one night and it was perfect for what we needed.

Positive experience: Very centrally located, you can be almost anywhere worth going in Bath in 5-10 minutes. There's a grocery store a 3 min walk away, and a convenience store even closer. I was in an ensuite for my stay, and I'm not certain I would go that route again. More than once I made use of the communal showers as the one in my room was uncomfortably tiny. If you are bigger than a size 16 or taller than 5'6", you might prefer to save some money and go for one without an ensuite. There was an issue I needed assistance with during my stay, and it was handled expertly by Clayton, who was working that evening. Most of the other staff that were there during my time there were friendly and competent, though some seemed to not be morning people. Might be worth looking into aligning people's shifts with their preferred schedule to make dealing with the public a bit easier on them. There were a few times when I needed to drop my key off or purchase laundry tokens and the on duty member of staff was busy handling other guests, sometimes for extended periods of time. During peak check-in/check-out times, having another member on hand to assist would be ideal. Bed was solid and relatively comfortable, sheets were clean, my room was relatively quiet, though if there's a group in the dorms, things downstairs can get rowdy. The weekend cold breakfast was adequate(though I seem to recall both breakfast and dinner being available every day pre covid), and I would not recommend the hot breakfast for the extra charge(go for a Gregg's sausage roll or fresh croissant instead). I would certainly recommend staying here if you're looking for a bed to crash in after you been out all day exploring the city. But remember, you get what you pay for, so don't go in expecting a £200 a night experience when you're paying a lot less. The central location makes up for a lot of its potential shortcomings, and you won't find a more affordable night's stay than here.

Positive experience: A few of the people giving terrible reviews seem to have been expecting the Four Seasons or Savoy... It's a hostel people! There are going to be other people in your dorm and the bathrooms might have been used between their last cleaning and the time you arrive! Having said that this wasn't an ideal hostel experience for me. I'm not going to complain vociferously about anything (sometimes your experience is bad because of things beyond the control of hostel staff and that's unfortunately expected occasionally when backpacking). However, there are a few things people should be aware of before booking: 1) Bunks are triple bunks. If you’re on the bottom or middle you won’t be able to sit up in bed at all. There’s also a kind of frame/cage around the bunks, to stop people falling out I’m sure, but it does make getting in/out of bed a bit more tricky. I know in the female only dorm (as told by a friend) the frame also supports privacy curtains. These were not present in my mixed dorm. Also trying to make your bed with the mattress inside a cage at 6ft in the air (for the top bunks) is more than a little difficult! 2) Lockers are advertised but not available. In a 12 bunk dorm there were 6 lockers… Less than ideal. On a floor with 5 dorm rooms (so probably 60 bunks) there a mere three extra lockers in the corridor. Assuming 6 lockers per dorm this leaves a potential 21 people without a secure space to store their belongings… not great. 3) Bathrooms/showers. I was on the top floor where there is ‘female only’ toilet & shower room and only a single separate other unisex toilet stall. If you’re male and want a shower it’s a big flight of stairs down in your towel to the unisex room. Not ideal not terrible (process reversed for females on the first floor obviously) Some positives – staff are great, cooked breakfast available and you really could not ask for a better location! So 3 stars overall and I think that's a fair review!!!

Positive experience: Good if you are very tight on budget. But overall, not a very good experience. They have free breakfast, a common area with a big TV, few board games. I have lived in many hostels till now, so in my experience I feel that they could keep it better. Only recommend you if you are tight on budget. ------------------------------- Reply: There was no option to reply, so here I am editing my response. Haha! I appreciate that you are taking the feedback constructively. For renovation from my POV, I would say that - 1. New flooring is definitely required (I would recommend carpeting instead of wooden), 2. The window near my bed (do not remember the room number) didn't open, nor it closed, so new windows. 3. There was no Wi-Fi Coverage in the rooms. So, adding that would be a huge plus. I can only think of these things as of now. Maybe also ask the customers checking out. All the best!

Negative experience: Booked what was advertised as an "accessible" room, only to find that there was no ramp access to the building, and the only way in was up several steps. Website makes no mention of this and should be updated to be explicitly clear that this is not an accessible location for wheelchair users. The room also smelled *terrible*. Like a combination of cheesy feet and strong bleach.

Negative experience: Worst hostel we’ve ever stayed in, and we’ve stayed in quite a lot! The location is great and the bedsheets were clean, but there’s nothing more positive to say really. Rooms are loveless (even for a hostel) and the bunk beds have definitely seen better days. Toilets were sometimes really dirty and not cleaned properly. But the worst was the dining room! It was so dirty in every corner! If there was cutlery and plates/bowls at all, it was really filthy. Really no idea where they got their food safety rating of 5 from (there’s a sign on the door)? Breakfast on weekends was alright, but two of three toasters were broken, they constantly ran out of plates and cutlery and there was a dirty cleaning rag on the counter. In our last night there was suddenly water dripping from the ceiling and onto our stuff. One promised us to bring us towels to clean, but they never came. Also, the guy at reception offered us reimbursement, but the next morning suddenly no one knew about it. They wanted to speak with the manager about it and to call us - guess who never called back… One is asked to give the keys to reception before leaving, but often there’s no one there so theoretically anyone could grab a key and enter your room. Also, I wrote two emails before our arrival and never got an answer. All in all: we’re really not sensitive, but would never go there again!

Negative experience: PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE! The place is absolutely filthy and the staff are useless! Everything is horrifically stained and covered in dust! The ladies toilets smelled of cigarettes all day and when we informed the staff of the lack of cleanliness they told us that they would not have cleaners for the whole weekend ‍♀️ Breakfast is included and by that they mean toast and cereal, milk is NOT included! The cooked breakfast you have to pay extra....oh and luggage storage is 4£ extra but don't worry they never lock the door either way, so you might as well leave it in the lobby and avoid the cost! I called in to make a reservation over the phone for a private room of 5people. Despite that, they put us on a 12bed dorm - not caring that people in the group were really not comfortable with this. I confirmed the booking 3 times over the phone prior to our arrival. No compensation offered. Awful awful place!!! PLEASE don't do it!

Negative experience: pokoj jak i hotel tragedia. Lazienek nie ma w pokoju trzeba korzystac z "publicznych" do tego nie sa jakies czyste. Jest strasznie glosno gdy ktos puszcza wode z umywalki w pokoju to nawet osoby ktore maja gleboki sen zostana obudzone. czystosc pokoju masakra nie wiem czy ktos wgl zaglada tu do pokoju zeby dobrze posprzatac. Ogolnie moglabym sie rozpisywac duzo. Wiadomo cena spoko ale za taka cene pokoje powinny miec minimalne standarty,bylam w wielu hotelach o podobnej cenie i byly naprawde super ale ten hotel radze omijac szerokim lukiem. z komody rowniez unosi sie nieprzyjemny zapach. Za ten pokoj mogliby wziac max £10 z czego nawet bym sie juz nie podkusila nawet za taka cene. Smrod brud i nie tylko. NIE POLECAM.

Fantastic experience: We (a couple in our 60's) stayed for one night. The beds and room were clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming. Great value for our money and we would be happy to stay again.

Positive experience: The location is perfect for backpackers! And I visit at the heatwave period and found that they provide free water and ICE!!! Awesome! The outdoor area is also very nice to chill at night! But I am not feel comfy to use the both gender toilets and shower place. Luckily they have just female one.

Negative experience: This is an affordable lodge for a great location, but I personally did not enjoy the stay. I slept in Bed 10 in the 15-bed female dormitory room, which was quite messy as only six storages and two dressing tables were provided in the room. One person took the chair from the dressing table for their personal use. Some beds were so dark because the sunlight from the window couldn't reach them. The communal space (including floors, chairs, and tables) was not clean when I was there in the evening, the chair was itchy, and the wi-fi was a bit slow, although still working for some light browsing. Some fiction books, board games, and TV provided. Hot drinking water was available for £0.5 per cup in a vending coffee machine. Normal drinking water provided in the dining hall. Quite a journey to reach from the dormitory room. I didn’t order breakfast as I noticed there were a lot of nearby coffee shops. The UK-standard socket in my bed were blocked thus couldn't be used, leaving me with one USB port that didn't work well either (unstable power source coming, so it keeps turning on and off every second). The shower was tiny (0.5m x 0.5m maybe?), but there was a separated space to hang clothes. Hot water run perfectly well. The building and the bedrooms smelled rusty. I gave two stars for location and the foundation's social cause. I've experienced (much) nicer youth hostels before.

Negative experience: Affordable rooms with decent suite options, situated in a nice location near downtown Bath. However, the hostel itself leaves much to be desired. Room and bathroom maintenance is almost nonexistent, even by hostel standards. Shared bathrooms are icky with mold and look like they’re only cleaned maybe once a week, and the soap dispensers in all the shared bathrooms were broken and without soap. Our room, while having a nice view of the Bath Abbey and downtown Bath, was dusty and the window sills were covered in grime. Tried to wash my clothes, but 2/3 of the washing machines were broken and the other one was always occupied, so ended up having to go to a local laundromat. The staff was friendly enough, but at the end of the day that doesn’t make up for basic service standards. If you’re looking for a relatively clean and affordable hostel, check out St. Christopher’s inn down the street. Rooms are smaller, but at least they’re clean!

Positive experience: Would have been great if not for the large group playing music and talking very loudly at all hours of the night in the courtyard. Rooms are cheap though.

Positive experience: Excellent value and well-situated hostel offering unfussy but comfortable rooms more or less in the heart of Bath. The entrance to the property is within a serene and secluded courtyard between two busy thoroughfares which means that the rooms themselves are peaceful and quiet. I was lucky enough to have a pretty spectacular view from my room and was well taken care of by the team here (I was especially grateful for the option to store a bag with the front desk for a few hours at the modest charge of only £2). I would certainly stay here again!

Negative experience: Stayed for a romantic weekend with my partner - staff couldn't of been more apologetic about the homeless (?) man and his dog quietly minding thier own business in the square outside - but forgot to mention the drunk, noisey homeless people (and bed bugs) that appear to be residents! Corridors stank of weed ,and communal areas (inc. bathrooms) were filthy! ! Some staff had a rude, sulky and unhelpfull attitude. All in all - a good place to stay if you're down on your luck, or need to buy drugs. Just my opinion.

Positive experience: It was a great location very central.The bedding was all clean but the top drawer in my room contained a lighter and tabacco. But not ideal with children, it's quite noisy and there are no ensuite family rooms. For a single person or couple looking for an affordable place to stay in Bath it would be perfect.

Negative experience: ABSOLUTELY BAD! 1. The cleaning of the bathrooms and bedrooms is deficient. An I paid for a suit, I can't imagine the shared rooms. 2. Lots of noise during the night. 2. I forgot a pyjama in the bed and they told me that they didn't see anything and after, they never pick up my calls again and no answer to my emails. I''m really disappointed of that because I'M TRYING TO GET MY PYJAMA. My friends are going to visit Bath and they could get it.

Positive experience: Enjoy the place the football table was nice but there was no lift and hear running water and the bed sheet was half on but still a nice place to sleep.

Negative experience: The bedroom and shower room created a very poor experience. The bedroom had a very thin window and a lot of noise from the street made it into the room. The toilets/showers were filthy. Tissues strewn across the floor and green mould growing beside the shower.

Fantastic experience: Checked into the YMCA for second night of 2 night stay for a wedding, when original guest house full. Very pleased with service, whole place is clean and bright and the bed comfortable (although curtain had fallen off rail so light woke me up early). Reception and cleaning staff went out of their way to be helpful, allowing us to use a room to change and leave stuff after checking in early. Also v pleased to see YMCA taking Covid protocol seriously, with masks required for staff and guests, unlike in the quite expensive guest house we had been in the previous night. We did not have time to make use of the lounge and public areas but it looked nice, with comfy sofas, books around to borrow and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Positive experience: Staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is great, few minutes walk to tourist attractions like Bath abbey, Roman Baths and Pultney Bridge.

Fantastic experience: We booked a place a few hours before we arrived. We arrived by bicycle from Bristol, having just cycled the lovely cycle path between the two cities. We received a friendly welcome and within minutes we were up in a twin bedroom that was comfortable and tidy. The shared bathrooms were clean. In the evening, we were able to lock our bikes away in a back office. We were very pleased with the welcome and the facilities.

Fantastic experience: The receptionists were sweet and was very helpful and kind. I loved the way they helped us for parking and stay. We stayed as a couple with a kid in double bunk bed room. We stayed for 4 nights. This place a near to major sightseeing places by walk. We parked our car in the cattle market car park (max 4 hrs - paid via MIPermit app) and podium car park(24 hrs - 15£) as per our requirement.

Positive experience: We were placed on the third floor, with no lift, which (along with all the walking) started to take its toll on my knees by the end of our visit! However, the stay at the YMCA, in Bath, was great. TV room, canteen for coffee or tea in the mornings all facilities open and friendly, helpful, welcoming staff...what more could you want?! Thank you

Negative experience: One of the men living here referred to it as like prison and it definitely had those vibes. On checking in a lady in front of me complained someone was smoking hard drugs in the room. The shower was grimey. Just before going to bed I was told I needed to move my mobility aid because a member of staff took offence to it. I would think the ymca would be more disability positive. The night staff talk to you like you are in some kind of half way house from prison. Day staff seem very nice. Also I sat on the bed too fast and felt the metal bed frame through the mattress. I really don't want to get into a dialogue with management, I know I had a terrible time.

Positive experience: The phone was answered immediately and availability confirmed. A great welcome, basic but comfortable accommodation at a very affordable price. My first stay with YMCA but definitely not the last !

Positive experience: We stayed at the YMCA after looking for inexpensive accommodation for 1 night in Bath following a gig. Our room was a twin room with shared bathroom. The room was clean and basic. The beds were comfortable and the shared facilities were kept very clean. The room was hot which meant that we had to keep the window open. There was a lot of noise from the courtyard type space outside but I assume this was because it was Saturday night and lots of people coming out of pubs and clubs. The power to some of the sockets in the room did not work. Continental breakfast is included in the room rate and is very good. Lots of juice, tea, coffee, cereal and toast. We parked in a long stay carpark about 10 minute walk away as I think there is very limited parking in the area. I would stay here again if looking for somewhere cheap to stay and feel that the room was fairly priced.

Fantastic experience: My brother stayed here, basic rooms but what the room lack the atmosphere and friendliness by all staff more than makes up for, any issues are dealt with immediately until you are 100% happy, beds r clean and super comfy and breakfast is great, lots of choice for if you like a filling brekkie or a light snack to start your day, staff are more than happy to help and personally need giving 5* each in my book!
