Negative experience: Good equipment but I can’t train before work as I can’t have a shower. You state it’s for health and safety but I could more easily have a dangerous accident whilst working out. Other 24/7 gyms manage 24/7 showers, so why can’t you

Positive experience: Gym is alright but Sauna closes early something like 8. And Parking is limited because of ALDI next door. Sauna should be working 24/7. It doesn’t not need an operator to work.

Negative experience: I have cancelled my membership here after an incident. A PT was filming in the gym and demanded I move out of his shot. I spoke with staff and they defended him. Therefore I am no longer a member here. An atmosphere of bullying is not conducive to working out.

Fantastic experience: No bad things to say just al good! Love the gym great equipment and staff

Positive experience: Too warm, temp on the AC needs turning down, and crap WiFi. Never seems to get cleaned, there are abandoned water bottles on two of the bikes, two bottle caps on the floor and a 'Lost' beanie hat, all have been there for at least 5 days....

Positive experience: I joined this gym few months back, it's got to the point were I have to visit the gym stupid o clock in the morning like 5am to be able to use the machines I won't after that it's just packed out in there

Positive experience: Great equipment, great location just off the motorway, you might be surprised how quick it is to get to! Staff are friendly and while I haven't had a PT, I've heard great things and seen many smiling faces. There's enough equipment that you're not always waiting. A few extra machines like an extra pec deck wouldn't go amiss but it's one machine out of many. It's only let down by an infuriating mobile app that's a complete pain to use, not the gyms fault but part of the experience, the thing doesn't do even the simplest tasks and is just deadweight, a focus on codes with the app being optional would make this gym 5/5.

Fantastic experience: The gym is really good, nice equipment and good environment but the parking is a nightmare. I had a fine since December and went past DR and was in litigation. I had contacted previously the gym in December and March but I didn't get any help. Luckily, one of the manager named Kam was able to chase it for me recently and he was able to fully waive for me after contacting UKPC on my behalf.

Negative experience: I took me over 20mins before I could a member of staff to talk too. No clear instructions

Fantastic experience: Lovely large gym area with up to date machines and great classes to keep you fit & healthy

Negative experience: Was great when it first opened and the class instructors are fantastic, however the management of the gym is poor. Very little upkeep; the studio lights have not been working properly for months and still aren't fixed, there are no cleaning areas so you cannot wipe down machines after use which is a H&S issue and Saturday morning classes are regularly cancelled because they don't have enough staff but aren't removed from the timetable so you don't find out until you get there. Was told yesterday by the only member of staff on site that they have no managers hence all the problems.

Positive experience: MALE CLEANERS COMING IN TO WOMANS ROOMS WITHOUT ASKING ITS DRIVING ME MAD. AND THEYRE SPENDING THERE FOREVER. Other than that all good.

Negative experience: Was a great gym but it’s unfortunate how the Assistant manager invaded the General managers privacy via accessing private information and screenshotting It. Did not join in the end due to fear of my private data being accessed, screenshot, and used unlawfully.

Positive experience: If you want good reviews from the members than fix your WIFI because there is poor cover for the network.. I pay for the membership every month which includes free WIFI so please fix it.

Negative experience: Would not go here anymore as I was going back in march and there car registration system was down and because I couldn’t put my registration down iv hade to pay uk parking control £450 as jd gym will not pay out to there problems they do not look after there customers at all they also state on there website it’s free parking well it’s not especially when there system is down

Positive experience: Please sort the smell in the men’s showers!! The smell coming from the men’s showers is grim, and has been for a month or so now

Fantastic experience: I love this place and it is not too expensive to join and has a lot to offer including all sorts of classes to do to keep a fit and healthy lifestyle.I have a Personal Trainer and he is good.

Positive experience: Average gym, parking an issue, locking the showers at 10pm not great. If zero contract why can I not cancel my DD immediately!

Fantastic experience: First time today, staff very friendly and helpful

Negative experience: WiFi is awful, attitude of some staff is like they just don't give a damn! Most locks on shower cubicles and toilets are all broken off, don't cancel classes for the public to see! When I approached staff about this complaint was told "well on our end it shows its cancelled, miscommunication on the app??? That's just not good enough! People get babysitters or ask for time of work to fit around these schedules and to not even update on the app or even on a social media platform what classes are on or off is the same attitude you get in the gym; they just don't really care!

Negative experience: Hotter in the gym then it is outside

Negative experience: All summer the heat has caused it to be unbearably hot in the gym with minimal air conditioning and then to make it worse the ac completely broke, making it impossible to have a good workout.

Negative experience: No AC during this weather is crazy especially during peak time

Positive experience: Never been in a gym so hot before. Currently debating ending my membership as it’s just too hot to train in there.

Fantastic experience: Haven’t looked at changing rooms or showers but nice tidy gym with good equipment. Probably advise go early morning or afternoon when people at work if have specific thing want to do otherwise gets busy from 5pm like most places

Fantastic experience: Down from Manchester visiting family and I thought I'd give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. The equipment was 100 times better than my local JD be sad to go back there after visiting here

Positive experience: A decent minimal frills budget gym, with lots of good kit and classes. Plenty of resistance equipment meaning you don't have to wait for a workout if you are adaptable and have imagination. Dropped a star due to lack of cleaning equipment to wipe down machines after use. Generally a clean gym but staff can't keep up with cleaning equipment after use in busy periods (just plainly not possible), where people leave sweat stains - I have never seen another gym member wipe down equipment after use! I take my own wipes (£1.49 for 80 from Home Bargains, next door, which last a few months).

Negative experience: Incredibly busy and hard to get certain equipment, very loud music. No access to wipes for machines and benches with sweat patches Can get very hot Very unhelpful ai review replies

Negative experience: JD selfish I call this place I really hate this gym and its owners the parking for all other stores is taken by jd gym members they even park down the loading bays for the other stores blocking deliveries well I guess the Chatham posers got to block everyone out to show off some how lol

Negative experience: Why do you stop the AC when we are still exercise? Is getting really hot and smelly. Please keep the AC until the end of opening times!- if so will delete this review.

Negative experience: I can only offer a maximum of one star for the conditions granted! THE AIR CONDITIONING IS OFF or turned on very slowly in the evening!! it's very hot inside I couldn't finish my workout because of the hellish heat!!

Positive experience: Friendly atmosphere, everyone lets you get on with what you want to do, as a bigger person I feel comfortable there as no one takes any notice of you. Changing rooms are clean and tidy, only down side was it took 2 weeks plus to fix the locks on the changing room cubicles so had to change in the toilet, everything else is fine and I go 3 times a week, love all the equipment they have

Negative experience: Every single equipment has always got sweat stains on it, Every gym these days atleast provide antibacterial spray and disposable tissues around the gyms Update: still disgusting as ever, do your cleaners come out at night when no one is about??

Positive experience: Great all round gym for the price, I use both Chatham and hempstead location Classes are great and equipment availability is good even at busy times Chatham is larger which helps with the peak timings Over the last few weeks the gym has stopped providing blue roll and cleaning spray to whipe down equipment which for me is the only thing holding it from 5 stars

Positive experience: Good gym. Couple of good PTs. Didn't return a call when I made an enquiry about losing something and then a staff member didn't look properly (and didnt seem to keen on being there to be honest) to find it so had to ask another member of staff.

Fantastic experience: It’s a great gym, I’ve trained in many budget 24 hour gyms and have to say this is head and shoulders above the rest, equipment is fantastic and so so so much equipment for a budget gym, the free weights and benches have a lot, the weighted machines, there is a lot, the resistant machines, there is a lot, I have read the negative comments but what do you really expect to get for 25 a month? That’s like buying a ford fiesta and saying it doesn’t drive like a BMW!! Every gym in the land is packed between 4 and 8pm! My only hope is the membership doesn’t go up after 6 months to match the quality provided.

Negative experience: Terrible. Just turned up to train before work to a sign on the door saying they’re closed due to an electrical fault. Despite this not being their fault - there is nothing on the Facebook page/Instagram, no text to members, nothing. So I’ve just turned up for a training session pre work and have no ability to shower beforehand. Fine if you work on a building site but not an office. Not good. This is after a few incidents of no hot water also. Cancelling ASAP, atmosphere not great, too busy. Pay the extra and go to Rochester Health Club.

Positive experience: To many kids going for a social ,not for a work out evenings now a no go for

Positive experience: Has a premium feel to it compared to other JD gyms. Really enjoyed training here. Unsure why people expect changing rooms to be 247 when staff aren’t on 247. It’s common sense to just use the accessible toilet if you need to change late at night & the other 1 star comments are from Americans which is enough said really ;)

Negative experience: New Equipment nice gym Very unclean post covid no hand sanitiser or soap available to wash your hands, also no cleaning spray or tissue/wipes. This is shocking as the gym is very busy and all equipment is covered in sweat, would be 5 star otherwise but that is a major flaw,

Negative experience: This gym is the worst gym possible, being from the states me and my friend wanted a new gym since we are staying here in England for a while and this is the worst choice . They charged you for even trying to cancel your membership or pause. You half to give a 30 day notice before you cancel then you half to wait up to 30 days to see if they respond to that. And by the time you wait you are charged a fee and the regular monthly for it. Not only that , after 8pm the gym just gets run by youngsters getting in free. No ac, no access to bathrooms after certain times, barely ever cleaned equipment. Barely any staff around to help, specially once it’s after 4pm literally where is the staff members ? Smaller gyms are way better than this one.

Fantastic experience: The equipment is top-notch and always well-maintained, making for a great workout experience. The gym is also kept clean and tidy at all times, which is something I really appreciate. Aman, the manager, is always friendly and approachable, and she goes above and beyond to ensure that all members are satisfied and have a positive experience. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience at this gym and highly recommend it to others in the Medway area

Fantastic experience: JD Gym Chatham is an amazing fitness facility! The atmosphere is energetic and motivating, making every workout enjoyable. Amandeep is an exceptional manager who ensures the gym runs smoothly and provides top-notch customer service. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: Great equipment and great atmosphere. Gets busy in the early evenings and I mean unbearable busy. And time restrictions on changing rooms forcing me to shower at work after a work out (costing time) but for membership price very good

Positive experience: Off-peak hours are good at this gym. Loads of equipment. Peak times is chaotic and gym goer etiquette isn't great at this time. Quite messy. Had issue with QR code and no members of staff able to let me out. This was at 4pm as well when you expect it to be staffed. Really needs another leg extension machine. It's really hard to get on it, even at off peak times. The free weight alternative isn't as good/comfortable and many share this opinion. Apart from that very cheap so can't complain too much.

Positive experience: A wel equipped gym with plenty of space. The car park is hideously too small!! They share it with KFC ,Home bargains, Aldi supermarket. Be careful in the car park it's incredibly dangerous.

Fantastic experience: Clean. Nice environment. Spacious. Can be busy at key times as expected but can also get on machines.

Negative experience: Does anyone actually work here, came up to see if I could get a tour or a look around before possibly joining and no one was there to talk too and you have to scan your way in

Negative experience: Went to try this gym out , coming from lordwoods and I’m really disappointed. Maybe in a few months this gym could be better but I would not go to this gym, it’s unorganized as heck, and the company itself is as well, the membership part takes you to tons of different things just to look at the damn membership not even to cancel . Then if you want to cancel you gotta pay unless it’s 30 day notice !

Fantastic experience: Brilliant. Plenty of gym equipment to get fit and make you feel good. Parking is a nightmare though.

Negative experience: Not worth it for Plus members - they want £35 a month for a gym with less facilities than the £25 jd gyms around the rest of the country. There are no tvs, reception or spin classes like most other jd gyms. It is a small gym with not many machines. The staff there are nice and the gym is clean. But not sure if the company looked at Chatham and put a £10 south tax on it? Chatham is in the south but it isn't fancy!

Positive experience: Gym is neat and clean, can spend more time now …

Fantastic experience: Gym is good, clean, new equipment, good variety of machines and nicely organised. Point for improvement- too loud music, please lower it as nobody listen to it. Most of us wear our own headphones.

Negative experience: 24/7 gym without 24/7 facilities. The point of a 24/7 gym is so people can train out of hours, shower then go to work/home. Snap fitness, tru gym, an other 24/7 gyms you can shower. Will probably leave after my £5 trial finishes and go to a better gym.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with top of the range equipment, very spacious! Haven't been during a time where the changing rooms are closed but I do think the changing room opening hours need to be revisited

Fantastic experience: Just joined this gym and I love everything about it. Switched from The Gym Strood and it is certainly a massive upgrade, in terms of facilities, and working out environment. Coincidentally, I was looking for yoga studio prior to joining this gym and so glad I didn’t sign up with any as there’s free yoga classes here. Did one session last evening with Keerie Rees and she was great. On other brilliant unexpected benefit here is that there’s sauna in both male and female changing rooms. For the price, what more could you ask for? Very happy with this switch.

Negative experience: This gym is not organized at all. I don't know what the management thinks about locking the changing room between the hours 10 pm - 6 am. The point of having a 24/7 gym is to have access to it whenever you want. If you are worried about non-members using the gym then lock it with an access code allowing members to have access to it. Also, your idea of a one-time scan entry is not practical you need to find another way to combat the sharing of access codes. Pls, don't close a 24/7 gym on bank holidays its a fraud!!!

Negative experience: Very disappointed. Went there to try out this gym. No day pass only if you create a direc debit which in the next 14 days you can cancel if you’re not planning to join. Very disappointed huge gym with no day pass. Update: they charged 5£ for the day pass but didn’t let me train. Thanks JD Gym real business from your side.

Negative experience: Great gym equipment and facilities. But I will be cancelling my DD as not all facilities are 24 hour. There is chewing gum from 3 months on the machines. Also the music is so loud you can’t listen to your own music or anything you may want to listen to

Positive experience: Great facility and lots of weights and machines to go around. I am enjoying the gym very much. I am however a bit disappointed with the policy’s and accessibility in the evening. The changing rooms close at 20hr on weekends and 22hr during the week and if you have a lock on your locker they will cut your lock and leave your bag outside the changing room (it kinda defeats the purpose of a lock). They do play an announcement on the loud speakers but if you have your headphones on I guess it’s too bad for you. All in all a great gym to work out in just make sure you don’t buy an expensive lock or leave high value things in your bags because they don’t care about your stuff anyways. P.S would love a new lock and a little bit of a friendly warning before you cut my last one but beggars can’t be choosers.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with this gym’s false advertising about being open 24/7. The changing rooms, which are supposed to be available round the clock, have limited access. If you work late and need changing room facilities, forget about it. The noise level (loud music) is unbearable during peak times. Despite boasting new equipment, what’s the point of advertising 24/7 when they barely provide the service? Don’t be misled by their false claims. There are far better 24/7 gyms out there with actual round-the-clock facilities.

Fantastic experience: SUPER MODERN GYM AT A LOW PRICE! If you’re a member at JD Gyms Hempstead Valley, I recommend paying the extra money to use both facilities as this is a lush gym! If you’re not a member at all, definitely come and check this place out. Massive floor space with lots of weights and weightlifting equipment downstairs, Eleiko kit is super cool here. And the upstairs is your cardio area, changing rooms, toning areas & a studio for classes so if you’re the self-conscious type, you could easily spend your entire workout upstairs without encountering the bodybuilder types downstairs. The gym seems to go on forever, so if you like a modern workout space without feeling claustrophobic, this is the place for you. The fit and finish is definitely superior to any other gym you've been to. Saunas and 24-hour access is included in the package, but the parking outside can get a little busy, so consider parking at the overflow car park where Homebase is. Other than that, it’s definitely one of the best gyms in the area.

Negative experience: UPDATE: It didn’t stay nice , specially at night when u think it will be chill , your overrun with kids that sneak in for free from their friends. Not only that they walk around laughing at people working out ? I was lifting weights and got pointed and laugh at then when they actually walk by they say man? This is the most dumbest gym I been to also , your saying i need a 30day notice to cancel my damn membership? With 21 working days to proceed it ? I’m sorry but America gyms are way freaking. Better, I payed over 10- 100$ a month for diamond at lifetime and both pay a month would never do this to me. This real pathetic. Me and two others are cancel bc this is ridiculous! We just wanted a nice gym before going back to the states It’s a nice refreshing gym , this definitely has the vibe of our big gyms in America , of course it’s new so day time is gonna be pack but after 10pm it slows down. It was definitely hot as heck in there and a felt a bit uncomfortable when working out but overall I love all the equipment and space u have. Let’s just hope it stays nice.
