Positive experience: Once a great gym but it's lost its sparkle! The plus points are it has some good equipment and (for me) is conveniently located near to where I work. However, there are big problems with massive over-subscription of members and in general, poor gym etiquette. It can get very busy at peak times and you'll see the same people hogging machines - you can't plan a routine as nothing is available. Some folk have no conception of space and think the gym is their own private playroom and too many people don't return equipment after using it. The changing rooms are just depressing - I've seen a better standard on some campsites. There are even signs of black mould in the showers. People discard litter in the changing rooms (some even discard used razors in the sink). The floors are often soaking wet as people won't dry themselves after leaving the pool. Then there's the terrible music played over the speakers.... The car park can get busy but some people seem to think it's acceptable (particularly van drivers) to park in disabled bays. The general demeanour of some members is just generally unpleasant - it's such a shame as it used to attract much friendlier/sociable people - perhaps it's just a reflection of society nowadays. I've even seen people on the gym floor in work clothes covered in paint!!!! Despite it being busy there are group classes run at peak times on the main gym floor. A section of space and machinery is cordoned off making it even harder to fins something to use. Add to that the boom-box thingy blasting music out so loud you can't even hear your own music via headphones!!! If you're reading Nuffield - please stop taking on new members and do something about the changing rooms at the very least.
Negative experience: Over priced, over booked,over used, over it.
Negative experience: Gym has become a kindergarten with 4 to 5 kids hogging a single machine for hours Changing rooms are dated Toilets are are old and dated Swimming pool needs a refresh Sauna needs to be larger as doesn't fit enough people. Classes fully booked and no chance of getting by 7.01 no availablity Basically they are overcapacity!!! Wish Cannock had another premium gym !
Fantastic experience: Sarah is absolutely lovely. Makes the best smoothies, she is friendly and personable. Offers great advice on the products on offer with her brilliant knowledge and expertise. Professional and warm, she creates a wonderful atmosphere and is an amazing asset to Nuffield Health Cannock.
Negative experience: This is definitely a gym at full capacity, it's a small gym it has everything that is needed for general fitness, but unless you can facilitate going at strange times then this is not a gym that can handle the amount of members it has. Swimming pool is lovely, clean but the users not so much, I regularly see people exfoliating / shaving in the steam room, not having a shower an then getting straight into the hot tub. If you go between 4 and 6 on weekdays, you won't get to fit in the sauna, steam room or popular gym equipment. Shame that they don't cap membership numbers like already, and not replace people who leave for some time.
Fantastic experience: The cleanliness at this gym is fantastic the team do a superb job keeping the facilities spotless. I would like to say a personal thank you to danni in particular as she is so lovely and friendly and dedicated to her job she speaks with such a passion towards the high standards of cleaning that the team keep. It's very reassuring knowing our facilities are kept clean and safe to such high standards

Fantastic experience: This gym is so fantastic, I love it.I have made many friends and keep my body and mind healthy.The instructors are fabulous, the facilities are excellent and there is a fab, friendly atmosphere at the club.Some gyms aren't as welcoming as this.Suoerb gym, good vibes, if you are thinking of joining don't hesitate!!This was fun halloween at the gym.
Negative experience: Member for 3/4 years, recently cancelled. Went up in price every year I stayed then eventually got too expensive. They do too many different discounts, feel like everyone is paying a different price. Plus for me the actual gym is too small for when it's busy. Just end up waiting for machines. Really enjoyed the swimming pool section though.

Fantastic experience: I was looking at the smoothies list when Sarah advised me that my favourite one, Kale, wasn’t available.i said I was avoiding bananas. She was so professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She advised me to have the passion fruit one. It is gorgeous and my new favourite. Thank you Sarah for your expert advice.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member for coming up to two years now and I really enjoy my time at Nuffield, staff are all lovely and helpful and everywhere is always clean and tidy. Classes are good and enjoyable poolside too
Fantastic experience: Great facilities with friendly staff. Everywhere is kept spotlessly clean. Loads of different classes to choose from offering a range of abilities. The only negative is that often members will park their vans or precious sports cars in the spaces reserved for blue badge members. This needs to be addressed.
Fantastic experience: I had an issue this week when knocked my water bottle off the x trainer . The staff were so helpful in getting the spillage up for me . Massive thanks
Negative experience: Long time member and sadly can’t put up with it anymore. Constantly taking on new members to the point you can’t get on any machines, the weight area is massively over crowded, half of them are kids that use it as a social gathering. The pool is full of members that sadly struggle to know the difference between fast and slow lanes so swimming is impossible when you have people walking up and down the fast lane. You turn up to relax in the sauna or steam room and you have young adults on there phone playing videos loudly?! The staff should be keeping an eye on all this. Not sure who they let in the gym but they seem to think stealing peoples towels is acceptable. It’s a shame because it was a good gym but of late it’s really gone downhill.
Fantastic experience: 10/10! If I could give more stars I would. An absolutely beautiful place to go! It’s always clean, the staff are lovely, the pool is great. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are also great, perfect I’d even add. The gym floor is brilliant, never too busy, can always use the equipment without there being a queue for it! Plenty of equipment on offer I must add. Again, the staff are an absolute pleasure to deal with and always on hand to give help or advice! I’m yet to explore the other bits this gym has to offer beyond the gym and pool area but no doubt it will be as good as I think it will be! The cafe is always lovely too again with the staff and choices on offer! Would definitely consider this place over other gyms in the area for sure! I’ve been coming here for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Negative experience: Very upset and disappointed. I joined Nuffield for a week trial as looking for a new gym. The gym it’s self clean and new equipment all round. Changing rooms are down stairs while the gym is upstairs, meaning you have to walk through reception to get to the changing room. The changing rooms are filthy and the showers are even worse. The showers had large gaps either side of the door. The frosted glass also doesn’t provide much privacy. As an adult I found it hard to shower as there were children running about in the showers & changing room. I understand it is a facility used by all but was definitely not for me. Not very good value considering the high price tag of approx £40-£50 a month.
Negative experience: Overcrowded as they just keep taking people on u cant get on anything you want to use and the stuff you can get on is old and outdated Canceled and got emailed back my leanne the so called manager and got told ill have to still pay for 7 weeks worth of membership even thought i wont be going again becouse theres no point if u cant use anything clearly leanne should not be a manager if she doesnt know how to actually deal with issues
Negative experience: I had to cancel my membership straight after joining due to the shower has no privacy. Shower cubicles has frosted glass only. You need to read the terms and conditions carefully as it is hidden somewhere that if you need to cancel even monthly rolling contract you need to give 30 days notice
Negative experience: Peak times are busy, which means your workout routine becomes tailored to the machines that are actually available at any given time. In general, facilities are nice but too few weight machines for the amount of members here. There's only 1 of most machines which creates a real bottleneck. What's worse is that when machines are out of action, it can take weeks for them to get repaired. Paper towels used to be provided, but were removed whilst they "look for a more sustainable alternative". Though, that's been a few months now. Update: The car park's regularly busy, but recently I've struggled to find a spot. Very frustrating considering the price.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic facility, used the clinic today and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Really nice pool in the centre of the building and lovely cafe for those waiting or to grab a bite after.

Positive experience: Excellent gym facilities and great trainers. Only spoilt by a really grumpy coffee manager who wouldn't serve a one shot coffee but could do a 2 or 3 shot coffee - mmm how's that work?? Needs a lesson in customer service.
Positive experience: Seems that there is always something having maintenance being done to it. At the moment no showers for men! Well unless you want to shower pool side that is! Obviously maintenance needs to be done but it’s a little annoying having to go home to shower properly. Hot tub has been out for a while now for cost savings as well. But saying all of that the staff are amazing and always have a smile on their faces.
Positive experience: I don't really enjoy the gym. I find using the equipment boring. That being said, the running machines, cross trainers and bikes all have screens on so you can either watch the TV or if you like data, see your progress on screen. It all seems new-ish and in good working order. I've only ever seen one piece of equipment out of service. The staff are friendly. I use the pool quite a bit but get frustrated with the lack by some members of etiquette. When the kids are having a swim and only one lane is available for adult swim, some people think it's OK to make up their own lane and barge through slower swimmers. This isn't OK guys. Also, rather than allowing faster swimmers to go in front, some slower swimmers insist on doing length after length causing a queue. This is highly frustrating and not conducive to a good work out.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym -very welcoming -good facilities - local
Negative experience: Gym is mediocre and the toilets always smell. Not worth the pennies really. My contract ran out and they charged me 2 more months. When i requested the money back as I couldn't afford to do my food shop, they refunded one and just said no to the other.
Fantastic experience: Easy to move between clubs depending on where I am at the time. This one is lovely. On the smaller side but nicely populated. Staff super.
Fantastic experience: Lovely centre was on a joint pain programme really as helped me get back to better fitness levels. Janine our coach was so helpful and got us all on track back to feeling better with more confidence. Would highly recommend joint pain programme and is an excellent way back to a gradual fitness. All staff are so freindly and helpful which creates a lovely atmosphere Look forward to attending on a regular basis
Negative experience: The spa is still out of action and they don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon but instead of reducing the membership fee you can use the spa facility at Wolverhampton - an additional 45 minute round trip to use the spa with fuel prices being what they are not a realistic option. The booking of classes is still ridiculous - by 7.05 am all the places are gone but they never add more classes - they keep going with the limited selection. Added to this the studios are tired and need upgrading to match the gym. If you are thinking of joining don't bother as they only want your money
Positive experience: Been a member for a year now and thinking of changing to another Gym/Spa. The Jacuzzi has been broken for at least 2 mths. All the classes I can physically do, I cannot get on them. Even when i set 7am alarms to book on for the week ahead. I think they have over subscribed members as most classes have a long waiting list. I have Fibromyalgia so can only do yoga, pilates and swim sessions at the moment. . So paying for the membership at the moment only allows me to free swim. It's a shame because I love the staff and the atmosphere. I expected with Nuffield 'Health' to put on enough classes for those who can't do the high impact ones. It's getting more like a Fitness First and giving priority to the hard gym go- ers.
Negative experience: Great pool and gym but it's a shame times are restricted for children and family swim. I would love to swim with my son in the morning but cannock doesn't offer family swim until 3pm when kids finish school. It's very frustrating as I would prefer to be there during the day rather than waiting until the end of the day , it doesn't feel family friendly at all and that is the reason I joined for water therapy and physio for my son
Positive experience: Great gym, but ended up leaving as they started to allow kids in for sizeable chunks of time which killed the relaxed health club vibe.
Positive experience: I've been a member here for a while now and I must say the recent improvements to the gym floor have made my experience much nicer to say the least. A well laid out gym with room to do free weights and exercise is crucial for me as cardio van be boring... my only moan is the kids swimming lessons, it's quite annoying trying to use the pool for a leisurely swim when there are kids classes on. I'm really not sure why the gym needs the revenue based on the monthly fee for members but I think the classes at least should be reduced to give members more scope to use the pool.

Positive experience: Dirty toilets/missing toilet seats in male change, not what I had expected. Nice gym equipment but getting the basics wrong.
Negative experience: Feels like recently have oversubscribed as during peak periods the pool is now twice as busy as it usually is and impossible to have a swim at t8mes, even the fast lane is used by , not so fast swimmers, I guess due to no where else to swim.. a pity as will become an issue long term.
Positive experience: Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable surroundings. Some areas could do with a coat of paint/refresh. The facilities are kept clean and tidy.
Positive experience: Clean gym, great classes and up to date equipment. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely cafe with yummy healthy food and nice coffee! There are charger plugs in the cafe and comfy seats. Swimming pool is a good size. 4/5 because Unfortionately they closed the crèche last month, which was crap for me but even that was fab and the staff in there were amazing. Definitely, recommend this gym, best one in the area.
