HealthSmart is a complimentary member service, delivered by our coaches to assist with improving overall fitness over a six week period. The programme starts with a 45-minute programme in which we understand more about you.

Positive experience: Been a member for a number of years and on the whole I do like the club. The staff are fabulous & v helpful especially Tony. In the last month it feels that the morale amongst staff has picked and the small issues that have been raised have been dealt with promptly and fixed.

Positive experience: A nice health club, pool and spa. The staff were welcoming and a nice experience all round. Ibra on the front desk was very kind also, he needs a raise! I would say that the oil facilities need a clean and sine TLC, The changing rooms could use brightening. The spa was nice, a tad overpriced, could use updating. Overall really nice, maybe a tad scruffy in the details

Negative experience: I booked my full body massage to reduce my stress and relax from work 2 weeks ago-they call me to change my time. When I arrived for my time-man is waiting for me to do the job.. I always do the treatment in Bannatyne Luton-they did not even communicate with me if man is ok with me. Am not happy to do with the man so I have to booked again after 2 weeks. Today did it with 1lady -this treatment is full payed no discounts or promo-BUT I RECEIVED THE LOUSIEST MASSAGE EVER. It’s getting worse and really BAD. Will NOT EVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN. It’s better the one in the market.

Negative experience: Probably the worst gym i have signed up to. Thank god i only took the 3 month membership and not the 12 month. Firstly i tried to buy a drink from the vending machine, does not work and when i told reception the lady told me ‘Sorry I haven’t got anyone to help you’ That’s what i’m paying £65/month for Rude staff, changing rooms dirty and everyday there’s a problem with the vending machine

Negative experience: I accessed this gym once through Wellhub (formerly Gympass) and was disgusted by the hygiene issue in the bathroom/changing area. Sauna and steam room were both down too. These health clubs are pricey because there is an expectation that they won’t take on everyone, there has to be a limit to how many people have memberships, but this one had similar numbers to commercial gyms like JD and PureGym. Not great at all and I wish I could get my money back.

Fantastic experience: After booking through spa breaks, I had a small issue with getting the massages organised at the Spa, but the team, mainly Emilie, was very accommodating and we managed to sort out the timings for the massage. Letana gave me an incredible massage and her service in general was amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Negative experience: The gym is small and not well equipped! Its like they have still got stuck in the 90’s with the equipments. Spa is below ok to be fair… saunas are outdated and the 2 little jacuzzi is enough for 2 but a tight squeeze for 3. Since joined they were down more than we could use them. Dirty too… ohhh and please let me leave the changing rooms out as they are rubbish

Negative experience: I recently visited Bannatyne Health Spa in Fairfield, and my experience was absolutely appalling. The staff, particularly Abbie-Louise, were incredibly rude and condescending, which completely ruined what was meant to be a relaxing day. Abbie-Louise made several unnecessary and snarky comments, creating a hostile and uncomfortable environment. One particularly upsetting incident occurred when I discreetly used my phone’s flashlight on the lowest setting to peacefully read my book, as I couldn’t use the pool due to medical reasons. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Abbie-Louise rudely instructed me to put my phone in my locker. When I stood up to comply, she shouted at me for not moving quickly enough—completely disregarding the fact that I’ve recently had a life-threatening surgery to my abdominal region, which makes sudden movements incredibly painful. To make matters worse, the steam room was broken, and there was no coffee available. For a “health spa,” these seem like basic amenities that should be in working order or provided. The lack of attention to detail, combined with the rude and dismissive attitude of the staff, made the entire experience feel like a waste of time and money. I truly wonder how the owner sleeps at night running a shambles of a spa like this one. The lack of compassion and basic human decency from the staff is shocking. A quick glance at the other reviews shows this isn’t an isolated incident—there’s a clear pattern of rudeness and unprofessionalism. It’s appalling that a place like this continues to operate when so many customers leave feeling mistreated. I regret spending my money here and sincerely wish I could be reimbursed for this dreadful experience. -1/10. If you value kindness, professionalism, or even basic respect, avoid this place at all costs.

Positive experience: We had spa experience vouchers as a gift and chose this location. When we went the pool was freezing, one of the jacuzzis wasn't working and the steam rooms weren't fully functional. We hired the robe, town and slippers, however the towels were thin and the robes smelled musty. The spa treatments themselves were quite good.

Negative experience: This gym facility has not changed in the past 15 years, the shower and changing room facilities have stayed the same, with all the old equipment yet they charge a premium and have the cheek to increase the amount every so often. Positive experience: Visited today for the first time ever for a treat to myself for a spa day. The receptionist was so lovely and helpful and gave me so much information, I had to keep going back to her to ask questions and she was always happy to help. The changing rooms were large and there were a lot of lockers, I went to the gym first and only used a treadmill as I had spa treatments booked so didn’t want to risk missing them. When I then got changed, I realised the robe I had bought was a bit too short, so I rented a ‘spa bag’ which includes a robe, towel, flip flops and a bag. You pay £20 (£10 deposit that you get back and £10 to pay) but you get to keep the bag and the flip flops. I went into the spa area and was told my treatment was a little later, but that was fine. I started reading, and the lovely lady turned the lights up in the relaxation room so I didn’t have to sit in the more noisy reception. My therapist then collected me for my first treatment, I had a full body Swedish massage booked & also a facial. My therapist was called Hannah, she was so sweet & lovely. Very informative. I pre warned her that my back and shoulders will have a lot of knots etc. honestly, it was the best massage I have ever had. The whole process was amazing, she put some cooling gel on my shoulders and lower back where she had to put more pressure which was lovely. I told her at the end that it was the best massage I’d ever received and I could tell that made her happy, she told me she was new to that spa, honestly she was amazing. I then had a facial by a different therapist, I didn’t get his name but the facial was nice. I nearly fell asleep! After both my treatments I then spent some time in the pool and jacuzzi area. I’ve lived in Luton my entire life but have never visited this spa before, I would return! There is a car park next door called NCP it’s a multi-storey, If you download the NCP app you can scan a QR code on arrival and you get discounted prices, I didn’t know this before so I paid the normal rates!

Negative experience: Came here with my wife for a "Spa Day". Unfortunately we were thoroughly disappointed. The Pool, sauna and jacuzzi was all in one area away from the "spa". Showers were cold, no hot water. One steam room was also out of action. Was full of gym goers so just felt like a lesuire centre. The pool didn't feel very clean and lack of chlorine scent was disconcerting. No food or drink facilities onsite, only vending machines so you can't even come here for a day as there's nothing to eat apart from protein bars. Whole area was very outdated and is I'm need of a refurb. Only positive was the actual treatments, back and neck massage was good. However they messed up our times so we couldn't get treated together. Would not recommend in the slightest.

Negative experience: Well disappointed… I used my voucher for massage and updated with extra minutes for extra £ so instead of extra minutes I got absolutely different treatment (facial) as staff had to swap for some reason and I been told they have to do something different. Most likely lady run out of time because for someone to show up I had to wait for 20-30min. In general place looked nice, ladies have been nice and polite but everything was not organised at all. Nobody knew what to do. By the way I repeated quite few times that I never been there before and nobody told me that I don’t need to pay for a parking (for customers it’s free) so that’s in case someone don’t know. Negative experience: Worse gym, takes ages to reply back and wouldn’t Cancel my membership when I changed my location. 55quid for a basic gym and timings are not even 24 hours . Better join gym group for even half the price and they have more machines than this gym . Only con is that it’s less crowded because expensive.

Fantastic experience: I got a voucher as a gift and Was feeling pretty apprehensive after reading some of the reviews however, I was extremely happy with my visit, the pool area does need a bit of an update but other than that the facilities are great, had such a relaxing day, the staff are so attentive and friendly. Negative experience: The worst gym in luton by far. Do not waste your time and money using this facility it is disgustingly dirty and always has the majority of things out of order. The showers i feel you come out dirtier than before you went in! I have seen left over tissues and general rubbish in places for days... Nobody ever puts weights back either which shows how little people care about the place.

Fantastic experience: This gym, it Has everything you need to get fit. I have Been a member for over 20 years (on and off, I recently rejoined following some personal health issues). Other users / reviews may complain about the sauna’s / or other things not working or needing repairs but it’s largely due to the members breaking or negligence not faulty equipment! Staff are friendly, close to town. Great gym to join.

Negative experience: My husband and I arrived for a pre booked spa day with 3 treatments. This was a birthday gift from my son. The massage was not relaxing at all as the therapist used her elbow and massaged my shoulder blade instead of the muscle. Since my husband's massage he has been in pain and can hardly walk. The pool was not nice at all. I was not expecting sweaty large men to fill up the jacuzzi. The pool tiles are dirty. The overall experience was not nice and having to hire towels and gown did not give the umbience we expected for the name of the spa. We have been to quite a few spas. This one is on the bottom of our list. Will NEVER return to Luton Banatynne. The hired towel my husband had was stained brown. The reception staff were friendly. That is the nicest thing I can say. This place should close its spa and concentrate on the gym. Disappointed .

Negative experience: I have been a member of Luton Bannatyne's for several years on/off and I have never seen it looking such a state. This gym has been long overdue a revamp because absolutely everything in the gym is old, beaten up and tatty. The weights are always all over the place and nothing is ever put back correctly (the inconsiderate members are mainly to blame for this). It takes an average of three months for any gym equipment, saunas or steam rooms to get fixed which is completely unacceptable. The day-to-day maintenance in this gym is done with such poor standards, it's always just a quick cover up, complete botch job every time. I have seen the managers of this gym come and go and not one have had any power to change or do anything in the gym because the powers above them will never grant the funds to make the changes. I would blame the state of the place on two things, number one being the lack of investment from the company for far too many years and the second is the low rank, disgusting calibre of members they allow to sign up here. Bannatyne's have these rules within the gym and pool side, and they are broken daily because the members could not care less and the staff do nothing to enforce them. One example would be allowing kids in the jacuzzi to splash around when it's supposed to be adults only, forget relaxing in there. Grow some balls and start banning some of these scumbags. I could write so much more, but I will let the pictures do the talking from here. I can confirm that all pictures were taken March/April 2024 and some of them literally days ago. I decided to post this because my membership is coming to an end and I am not staying for these reasons. Bannatyne's need to start investing money END OF STORY! It is mad to think that this is a brand name BANNATYNE'S GYM because it looks and feels like an amazing council estate gym.

Fantastic experience: had a spa day with my bff. we were surprised our nice everything was. very clean. staff were lovely. we had massages with Leah and another person which were great. The receptionist was so friendly. we would definitely recommend.

Positive experience: today on April 7th I brought my son to register, it was a reception girl named Fei she wasn't kind, she didn't help me register she was so cold and categorical. the staff must be kind to customers and must make them feel comfortable, this girl works like this she does losing customers. Instead yesterday he was a very kind boy. I thank him who helped me with kindness and a smile. Unfortunately I don't remember his name. He had a beard and blue eyes. This Bannatine spa needs kind personnel like this boy. Not like the girl's name. Today I am disappointed

Negative experience: Old outdated facilities. Broken steam room (for a few months). Total of 6 loungers next to the pool, not relaxing at all. I guess you get what you pay for.... This is a simple basic place and I wouldn't recommend it as it was not relaxing in the slightest. The only thing that made the experience better was the treatment staff. There is also a relaxation room in the treatment area that noone tells you about so it isn't used and we nearly missed it.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE PLACE - AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY Booked here for the young woman I support, they took the payment twice. I rang as soon as it happened and was told to email someone. I sent the email with all the proof and screenshots, had to chase them for weeks about it! no one ever got back to me when I called them. TOOK OVER A MONTH TK GET MY MONEY BACK spa is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable however this experience has been anything BUT. So stressful. Serious lack of customer service. Staff on reception were snappy and attitude-y when I explained my problems MULTIPLE phone calls! Will not be returning here !

Negative experience: Avoid Luton site! They scammed my elderly parents out of 2 treatments! I paid for each of them to have 3 treatments on Mothers Day and neither of them received their scalp massage. It was raised twice on the day but nothing was done. I emailed them to complain but this was also ignored. Highly unprofessional and I will take my loved ones elsewhere to be treated better next time.

Fantastic experience: A health club, spa resort that's centrally located in the centre of town. There is a fully equipped gym with all the usual offerings. Negative experience: Poor value for price.1 star for the spa+1 star for the pool.No response.Mailed twice for viewingz,got no reply.I had to visit in person to arrange a viewing.Both visits they were understaffed and had to arrange viewing for a later date.Gave my email ,to get a detailed membership package details which has been over a month ,havent recieved the details till date.Classes offered at gym are below average.The gym group offers better free classes.So took up gym group memebership.

Positive experience: Today, Molly from the SPA treatment team delivered an excellent Full Body Seasonal Scrub & Scalp Massage! I was left feeling on cloud nine after the relaxing treatment. However, the condition of the SPA area (pool and changing rooms) let my experience down! I booked through Virgin Experiences and was expecting the SPA area to be of a good standard but the Bannatyne Luton’s SPA area needs renovation to bring it inline with the better standards of its other sites and its competitors :(

Negative experience: i booked and paid for full leg wax but the legs were waxed 3/4 due to running out of appointment time, which is not my problem but a lack of organisation of the salon - not everyone has the same size of legs. i was advised that the spa manager will contact me as the job wasn’t finished but no one ever got back to me.

Negative experience: Not long home from a mini spa treatment. I had a facial, head and Swedish back massage. I even asked before hand if i was getting a Swedish massage which was confirmed by the therapist. The facial was OK. Head massage poor. And the back massage was awful. I have been qualified in Swedish massage for 18 years. There is a lot involved. A set way to perform and different techniques to be used. Everything about it was wrong. It was started from shoulders down. Had a few sweeps of the back the she went straight in using her forearm and elbow for the duration. The pressure was way to strong, especially over kidney area, just below the rib cage. Now any properly qualified therapist knows that is NOT good. I had to tell her she was hurting my spine. Her elbows were digging into it. Also wrong. She spent most time on my left side. Not relaxing nor soothing in the slightest. My back now actually hurts. I was looking forward to this so much and was even looking at joining. I won't be. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Horrible experience.

Positive experience: We really enjoyed our spa day here, the treatments were lovely (back massage and facial). Was pleased to know the facial was suitable for sensitive skin. Only complaint is that the pool was too cold. Top tip remember to bring your own towel and flip-flops to avoid the expensive hire fee (£18.00).

Negative experience: Pretty grim facilities in respect of the pool, hot tub and sauna. Unfortunately, it lacks investment and routine maintenance. Staff were friendly and the treatments were nice (15 mins) but certainly wouldn't go back.

Positive experience: I like this club but I am not going there anymore because the timetable for kids is very restrictive. I hope they can change it one day to can return, because to pay a monthly membership for me and for my child to come on the pool only on the kids time (I am a single parent), it doesn't worth the price. Over the week is no time because school is ending at 3:30 and we never have enough time until 5 to enjoy the pool, Sunday is only until 13:00 and many times we wake up late and Saturday is the only day that works. But to pay a membership only to come 4 times per month, it is too much. Make it possible for kids to join the pool until late over the week and Sunday and we will get unlimited memberships

Negative experience: I have been with a friend during last weekend for a “relaxing” afternoon. Unfortunately the place is not very visible so it was a bit hard to find. Upon arrival we were asked for ID, which we were not aware of. We then proceeded to do a full registration, including having our Id scanned and photo taken. The process took about 25 mins, and they don’t accept cash… so we paid 25£ each on their online page. We didn’t rent the bag with towels, which was an additional 15£ deposit. We went in and the locker room, showers and toilets were nice and spacious, clean, which we enjoyed. We did not use the gym facility, we went straight to the pool area, where the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi tub are located. The pool was nice, but half of the facilities were not working, as a result it was overcrowded. The loungers were all busy, one sauna and one of the steam rooms were out of order, as well as one of the jacuzzi tubs (which fits in maybe 3-4 people). It was quite slippery and it wasn’t the cleanest, considering the price. It was quite disappointing, to say the least. We tried to make the most of our stay, but I think the most relaxing part of it was the shower we took before heading back home. Overall we were not happy with this experience, we expected a better standard, which is a shame because it’s the only facility nearby.

Negative experience: Extremely poor customer care at this gym. If something go wrong it doesn't get fixed for several months. Disabled toilet sink in the man changing room out of order for the last 4-5 weeks yet it has not been fixed. Last time light on the lobby of man changing room was out and it didnt get fixed for about 3 months.

Negative experience: Waste of money I had booked facial. I didn’t even feel like if anything was done on my face.staff is very particular about 25 minutes treatment and that includes them washing hands bringing stuff etc etc they won’t do your treatment for single minute more than time slot which you pay for & basically you end up for their hand wash time also lol Apart from that the girl called Saffron did my treatment and at the end she started explaining me about what treatment I had & she named it wrong and then I said I did not signed up for that and she started winding me up by saying oh that’s same treatment and all .. So basically careless staff , not value for money , worst facial ever.. absolutely not recommend.. just avoid it . Never ever going to use again Don’t waste your money

Negative experience: The staff were friendly which was nice however unlike the other spas it does not have a restaurant so you would have to order in your food and they bring it to you nor does it have a proper relaxation area, only 6 poolside loungers and two in a room in the spa that you could use before your treatment if you were happy to listen to loud music (from the gym im guessing) so not really relaxing at all. Other people having treatments also moaned because there was nowhere for them to lie down together before treatments. The pool seemed cold to me too. I would not use this spa again as it did not fit my idea of a whole spa experience. However I know that you can go and just get a treatment which I think is probably a better option here.

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy smelly gym. Always something broken. Usually only one sauna works. Mens locker room smell like sewage and I literally have to sometimes hold my breath when going in there...The tap water in the locker room has been pouring and wasting water for months.

Negative experience: Very disappointed and will not use their services again, after being refused rescheduling for myself and my partner due to the death of an immediate family member in a different part of the country. We had booked a spa day for 2 with treatments, all within the necessary time frame of the voucher, for Sunday 23/04 (afternoon). We called Saturday 22/04 to explain the death of a family member, this meant we had to travel to Birmingham to say our goodbyes immediately, with arab funerals proceeding the within the 1/2 days which meant we had to remain their to arrange and attend the service. Zero compassion or sensitivity was shown and we were informed we would have to loae out on our booking/money if noone could attend as we did not allow for 48 hrs (even though it was an unexpected death). Disgusting service/company therefore would not use again.

Negative experience: Awful experience. Booked a Spa Day for 2 which was a gift from my partner within the allocated time frame, called the day before booking to reschedule due to the death of an immediate family member and we were informed the 48 hr rule still applies and if noone can take this booking it will be lost. Working in the industry I understand the need to ensure booking ammendments are made as soon as possible, however in the case of extenuating circunstances such as the DEATH of a family member this would (should) ofcourse be an exception. Handled with zero sensitivity or proffesionalism, very disappointed all that money was lost out on and no compassion was shown. Would not book in with them again.

Positive experience: After reading some of the reviews, I nearly cancelled our spa evening . I’m pleased I didn’t . Welcomed at reception by the lovely Laura. Enjoyed the pool almost to ourselves. The changing rooms could do with a bit of a re vamp. We went up for our treatments . I had a lovely Beauty therapist call Darla and I had an amazing back massage / foot massage and scalp massage, it was amazing and I’m a beauty therapist myself so I have some idea what to expect . Overall it was a very nice experience.. we will definitely be back . Although I haven’t been refunded my money for the robe and towel yet … minor detail

Positive experience: I was a bit alarmed by a lot of the reviews online saying that the spa was horrendous, dirty, worst spa ever, so I was really nervous to go there. It actually wasn’t that bad. The staff that greeted me were very polite, showed me round and where everything was. Swimming pool was a touch cold, and one of the steam rooms were broken. Yes a few things are broken or cracked or need repairing, but that’s just for aesthetic, it doesn’t stop things working. Jacuzzi and sauna were good as you’d expect. I marked down stars for this, and that you don’t really get the “spa feel” as the spa itself is away from the facilities so it’s separate. The spa itself was lovely, I’d give my treatments and the care I received from Savannah 5 stars. I had a massage, facial and scalp massage and then a full body scrub and it was just amazing. So so lovely and I felt relaxed. I’ve had many treatments in the past and see myself as a bit of a spa connoisseur and this was definitely up there in the top 3. I’d go again for treatments with Savannah, but probably wouldn’t use the facilities as there are better “spa experiences” out there.

Negative experience: It's absolutely shocking, I dont know how this place can be called a spa? There are no cups for water, no place to relax as it only fits 5 people in there and it can be used even if they don't have a spa treatment which means if you've had a treatment there is no where to chill after. Can't even get a cup of tea. Swimming pool is cold in including the jacuzzi. The spa is run by 12 year olds who moan about their customers and emails and have no customer experience. A waste of money and definitely not a place to go for a relaxing day. Staff are unhelpful, and when raising a complaint, they do t care and take no responsibility, saying they have done everything right. Don't visit this place!!

Negative experience: The pool and sauna is decent, however cannot say the same for the gym. Theres always works being done, therefore limiting machine usage. There aren't enough machines and equipment for everyone when it is jam packed.
