Negative experience: I wasn't satisfied as the pool was incredibly cold and there was more piss than chlorine as I found out because I came out in a massive rash and made me incredibly ill after being in the pool for 20 minutes
Negative experience: Pros: it's a pool, staff are nice Cons: dirty, the pool is very crusty around the edged and the paint is all off the bottom, water was tinted yellow, changing facilities were broken or manky.
Fantastic experience: Hi. 1st time user. Taken my Grandaughter and her new freind..Wow I'm impressed. Walked in reception great .bought coffees,good coffee..was concerned as grandaughter 12 and can't go in deep end. All my worries gone at least 4 young adult Lifeguards. like HAWKS watching everything .I'm sitting here writing this at the pool side . I'm a retired London Firefighter. This is impressive. Would like to give more than 5 stars .WELL DONE

Negative experience: I used to lane swim here regularly in the evenings a few years ago (2014 - 2018) and had absolutely no complaints, it was great back then. I visited last week and was shocked at how rundown and dirty looking it's become over the years. The pool looks like it was lifted from downtown Pripyat or something! Like If you dive in, you might come out with a new superpower or some extra limbs! The water was far from crystal clear and there's a disturbing greenish-brown tint to it all. Seriously though, the pool is in dire need of a repaint and overall freshen up - It's seen much better days. Please, give Bexhill Leisure pool the tlc it needs! I thought the staff were nice at least.
Thank you for taking the time to review us Lew. We take water quality very seriously and perform pool water testing and plant room checks throughout the day. There have been no abnormalities in any of the readings recently and I can assure you the water is perfectly safe to swim in.
Positive experience: Staff were very welcoming and professional on entry and when signing my child up for swimming lessons. However we visited on a Sunday afternoon hopeful to experience the slide and waves as advertised on the website, but sadly they were not working. The whole facilities are quite grubby and dated looking, which is a shame as we have been looking forward to using them more often being our most local leisure centre, with such potential to offer a lot of health benefits to the surrounding communities.
Thank you for your feedback Alice, I am pleased the staff made you feel welcomed. There is signage stating the waves are currently out of action, and it does state this on the website as has been the case since the beginning of the year. The flume is in operation as per timetable, however I believe on your visit we had some staff sickness which meant due to staff shortages we were unable to open up the flume. The building is an old design and is showing its age in places, however we work hard to keep it clean and operational. If at any time you feel an area needs more attention please speak to the Duty Manager who will be happy to assist.

Positive experience: I know things are bad at the moment, but after our visit today I was shocked. The place could do with a total makeover, very tired and grubby. The changing cubicle stunk of wee, someone left a used nappy on the cubicle bench and the disabled toilet looked like it had been hit by a hand grenade. All this for £16 for 2 x adult and 1 x child.
Thank you for taking the time to review the centre Ian. We are in the middle of the school holidays so we are extremely busy. The lifeguards are regularly cleaning the toilets and changing areas, however please also inform the manager on at the time if you are unhappy with the cleanliness.
Negative experience: Waited for 45 minutes to enter the pool as they were understaffed. Was charged full price despite the flume and wave machine being unavailable. Absolute joke and quite honestly embarrassing! Do better freedom leisure, your community deserves better than this! If you can’t run a business efficiently then don’t run a business at all! New management is desperately needed. This is the third time I’ve experienced this, acceptable as a one off, not as a continuous issue. Improvement is desperately needed!

Due to staff sickness on the day of your visit we had to limit numbers in the swimming pool and close off the slide so we could remain open. Our entry price is for admission to the swimming pool, we do not charge extra for waves or slide. Negative experience: The place is dirty. The flume was not on due to not enough staff even though there was. The water was cold normally warm,And the wave machine still not working. Been out for months.
Hi Philip, thank you for taking the time to review us. The flume was open on Saturday but unfortunately due to staff shortages it was closed on Sunday. We make every effect to run the flume during advertised hours however on occasion this is not always possible. The waves are currently out of action and we are in discussions with contractors to rectify the issues. The temperature on Sunday was 28.6 Degrees Celsius which is well within our daily average. Negative experience: Went with my children two Sunday ago, wait on the queue and then ….1st showers didn’t work,2nd the wave machine broken as our previous visit….is it the gym in working order? I paid 46£ membership and there’s not discounts for children even when the wave machine and shower doesn’t work……unacceptable and unfair
I am sorry you were disappointed on your visit. We are currently waiting on delivery on some parts to fix the shower which should be sorted very soon. The waves appear to be an ingoing issue as our plant room floods every time we have a lot of rain fall despite having installed a pump in there. No sooner have we fixed the problem it occurs again. The gym on site is great place to work out in, or if you prefer a bigger gym we have Falaise in Hastings or Bexhill Leisure Centre just up the road.
Negative experience: Paid nearly £20 for family to find most of pool sectioned off into squares because of swimming lessons. Just felt we were in the way the whole time. Shouldn’t open to public when it’s like that. Kids had fun though.
Hi Katie, Our timetable does highlight the different sessions that take place in the pool, so you can then decide when the best time to attend is. We recommend the open swim and flume sessions for the children.
Negative experience: Everytime we go either theres not enough staff to man the flume or the wave machine isnt working.
Thank you for your review Chris. Unfortunately all the recent rain has flooded the plant room which has damaged the wave machine. We are as frustrated with the situation as much as our customers are. We have engineers booked in to work on the repairs and hope to report better news soon.
Fantastic experience: it was so good!! toilets were clean, pool was nice, it’s never THAT busy, and the slide was so fun! but it’s a bit slow, but when you push yourself then you properly speed pool is a bit cold as well but it’s alright!

Negative experience: The pool is dated, cold and hasn't been painted or repaired for 30 years. But the main issue is that when you enquire for prices or private swimming lessons through their website, they do not get back to you. Lots of people on the Facebook page with the same experience. Currently waiting since November 19th and its been over 2 months. They don't want the pool to look nice and they don't want new customers to help pay for its upkeep. Someone is running this place into the ground on purpose. Edit: I have my own website and it takes zero effort to set up or change an automatic response to website enquiries via contact forms. It also takes less effort to respond to enquiries with 'over subscribed' information than to respond to negative reviews on Google.

Fantastic experience: My family love this pool. Great wave machine which is loads of a fun, and the flume is a laugh too. Decent showers and mixed gender changing room with private cubicles.

Negative experience: So I went in the pool for 3 mins just to gather water so I went home and tested the water And You Wont Beleve How Much Wee Was In The Pool Litrally If We Take All The Wee Out That Pool It Would Take Up The Whole Gym!!!! I do Not Reccomend Going Here.

Negative experience: The staff had bad attitude Wich was very unexpected. But the main problem was the slide and waves being Brocken. They charge you full price by the slide and waves are Brocken. So for the younger kids it will be boring for them just swimming around doing nothing and if they were to buy a ball or ring the plastic is very thin pops easily. I just thing they should lower the price if the slide and waves aren’t working

Negative experience: Every business is struggling of late, so I haven't been too troubled about the hike in prices or the dilapidated interior. Repairs to murals, flaking paintwork and grouting are costly. However there is a significant issue at the moment that needs to be addressed. The water slide has a footwell at the top to wash feet in just before you enter the slide tunnel. It's developed a crack and is leaking disgusting foul water that my kid has delightedly labelled 'toe juice'. The water stinks, the steps below stink because the water is falling onto the wall of the stairwell and then running down. My father rested his arm on the wall and confirmed this was the source of the smell, and a look at the footwell suggests it hasn't been washed out in quite some time. Sooner or later someone will get unlucky enough to get some in their mouth and get *really* sick. Please please fix it this asap!

Fantastic experience: Popped in on Saturday to look round the facilties having visited the sister gym up the road, and enquire about membership. Facilities are conprehensive, and whilst the building is a little out of date, the pool was a good size and looked to be in good conditon. Staff were excellent ,very knowledgeable, took the time to show us around, weren't "salesy" or pushy about memberships at all, just provided all the info I needed. Went away to consider and then went back later and joined

Negative experience: Had to assist staff on a rescue as the male attendant didn't spot the boy drowning, albeit shouted at 5x by a female worker she eventually took the situation into her own hands and jumped in, staff here are ill trained and id look for the senior life guard if you kids can't swim an stay close to them... if they look too young to do the job its probably the case. Couldn't believe the guys face after the event unfolded he looked like he did nothing wrong.. I told staff he shouldn't be working there. I hope issues like this are resolved as luckily the lad survived an was pulled out in time, my kids were shook so we left soon after. Just keep an eye on your kids and others...you can't always guarantee that someone else is watching

We take issues of safety very seriously and all our staff undertake regular, intensive staff training to firstly qualify as a lifeguard and then to maintain that qualification. Negative experience: Just a review for the pool, they're really expensive. Even for children. Prices have gone up within the last 12 months way over 10% using cost of living as an excuse, they dont even open the slide anymore due to lack of staff, however they can charge more. This is a business to RIP off the community and not encourage children to swim and exercise. Good Job
Negative experience: Having moved to the area last November ,I joined myself and youngest adult son as joint members to the Gym, including the Leisure Ravenside Pool. Attending Aqua Aerobics Sessions there three times a week to date, which I thoroughly enjoyed until the Manager there, namely Stuart Crawford,began hovering around during the sessions, which made me feeling uneasy. Worse was to come as he was so rude to me when checking one morning as I verbalised just how intimidating I found him to be… he retorted that he was glad as hence giving off the desired effect!! Clearly far from a “people person”! Having worked in the Airline Industry for many years,as the first point of call,be it on the phone or dealing with passengers face to face,he would have been sacked on the spot had he spoken to any customers in this fashion . Needless to say that from now on shall be attending Summerfields instead for the foreseeable future. An unheated pool and closed toilets is one thing … however a truly disrespectful Manager is a step too far!!

Negative experience: Very Poor Swimming instruction. Two of my children started swimming lessons here in February 2020, we are now in March 2022 and my sons progression is non existent. I watch every week from the side of the pool and spot errors and the teachers don't. My daughter has progressed, but not by the skill of the instructors, this is due to repetition of the same drills and lessons. So Much so they know what they will be doing from week to week and choose not to attend on weeks when they know the lessons are boring. Swimnow.co.uk and Swimuk.co.uk suggest a 2-3 year old can swim confidently after 30 minutes of lessons per week over a course of 8-12 month. The swim school here is affiliated with Swim Uk should be looked into as I question the teachers quality and qualifications. This pleasure has cost me to the tune of £1194.46. **Avoid Joining this Swim School** Side note, the Hygiene practices are poor, Staff wear outdoor footwear around the pool, Showering is not mandatory before the lesson, The changing rooms are disgusting and there is a constant smell of drains and urine around the pool area.

All our instructors are fully qualified and we receive numerous positive comments from parents about the quality of the lessons so are very sorry you do not share this opinion. Positive experience: Decent pool, very family orientated with lots of open swim sessions. The wave machine is great fun and the flume too. The gym is old, worn and definitely not worth the extortionate membership. All the equipment is tattered and in serious need of an upgrade, don't waste your money! The price of the memberships definitely makes you reconsider wanting to get fit but they are still the cheapest around. Lots of hidden costs and their website isn't that transparent about the memberships, you have to do it all in person.

Negative experience: Awful experience and appalling customer service. I rang the leisure centre an hour before turning up to ask if I had too book a place for my son and his friend to swim, I was told that we didn’t need to book and a new session was starting at 1pm and to get there early to queue to ensure we got in for 1pm. We turned up at 12:45pm and the queue was already half way round the entrance which was fine and expected, however, a member of staff comes out and advises they are at full capacity and they are unsure how long the wait will be! I advised that I called about this afternoon and what about the new session starting at 1pm? She said this wasn’t the case and I was advised wrong, I let it go as it wasn’t her fault and we queued for an hour and and 30 minutes. When it was our turn to go in I advised that I was going to pay for my 11 year old boys and come back in half hour, they advised that an adult has now got to escort them in l, which I wasn’t advised about prior! We got in and paid, I sat down and told the boys to go when I was advised that I had to go in the pool with the boys as they are under 16! I advised that I had phoned this morning and queued for an hour and 20 minutes and paid and not once was I told I had to go into the pool, I had no swim suit on me, the manager Josh advised it would be okay this time as I hadn’t been advised which I was grateful for. However 5 minutes later the manager Josh came stomping back at me and asked me ‘if I wanted to tell him the truth and tell him what actually happened’ I was shocked and asked him what he meant and he replied you paid for two children one adult, I advised that I paid £12 to get in, I don’t know how much the swim session is and that there wasn’t a price list so I assumed it was £12 for the two boys as I wasn’t told on reception when paying and wasn’t asked if I was going in, when I actually got to reception I asked to pay for my two boys and was not told I had to go in the pool! I advised the manager that I have never been called a liar and I am a 36 year old adult why would I lie over something so pointless. His reply ‘well I need to find out who is telling the truth’ are you joking me!! This was in front of my two boys and a pool full of customers. He obviously thinks he could try and intimidate me and talk to me like I’m stupid, even the other pool staff agreed his behaviour was awful. I get you might be having a bad day or whatever but drop me out! Don’t talk to paying customers or anyone in that manor and definitely don’t call paying customers liars!! I have been coming to bexhilll swim school for 6 years with my son but sadly cancelled my membership today due to the way we were treated. Awful experience!!

Negative experience: I have just got home from visiting here , I can't fault the pool although a little bit small for the amount of people there. But I wasn't happy with the changing rooms. There was kids going round looking under the changing rooms, checking all the empty lockers for money and my nephews arm bands were stolen in a matter of minutes. I asked at the desk if they had been handed in they weren't very helpful.

Positive experience: Clean water and fun slides with areas for all ages and waves enjoyable for all ages but the swimming pool can get quite crowded due to it being so small
Fantastic experience: highly recommend this place. reasonable pricing, I had a good time. the music was really good and they had a slide. the only bad side was the changing room is a bit stinky but your only in there to get change, i didnt really smell it as much when I got out and that i would say be carefully with the little ones when they first go into the pool as the floor has no grip :/ got kfc and mcdonalds across the road too.
Positive experience: Pool is perfect for a family, as it is a good size and easy to keep track of the children. The flume is in fun but they don't seem to do the waves anymore, or maybe it's just the time we get there, which is about 1pm. Not the most helpful lifeguards, to be honest, seem to blow whistle frequently, so everyone stops and looks, point and then strut around, with no-one any the wiser. I completely understand that safety is paramount but at least explain to whoever the whistle is aimed at as to WHY it was blown.
Positive experience: Swimming lessons for my son are great, but showers are poor and fast lane regularly not available as fit some reason, they hold staff training during opening hours.

Fantastic experience: I am an adult swimmer and they have good mixture of early morning, and mid to late evening lane swimming, as well as some slots during the day. A 25 metre pool, with a heat-suite and some children/family slots too, parking is mostly easy other than during weekend days because of the numerous shopping lemmings using Ravenside retail outlets. Weekends are different, but you will still get parked. The walk from you car, if using is part of your warm up!
Negative experience: Thank you for keeping a family of five waiting for 20 mins. As there was no information from staff about the overcrowding in the swinging pool.

Negative experience: Unfortunately this pool was a big let down, we specifically went to this pool instead of the free one in our holiday park as it had a flume and wave machine (which our 5yr old would have loved). We checked the timetable ensuring we went at the correct time, it wasn't until we was in the pool that we could see that the flume was closed so we asked the lifeguard who informed us that the flume and waves get turned on at 4pm! No mention of this on the website/timetable and no mention of this when paying to enter the pool. Our daughter was hugely disappointed which made it a less than satisfactory experience. Such a shame as it had the potential to be a great experience.
Fantastic experience: Great fun day out with my 11 yr old kid's. . Clean changing rooms/area, friendly staff and the kid's loved the wave machine and slide.. Didn't have any food on site so can't comment on that but overall very pleased and would defo recommend it..
Fantastic experience: We recently went on family holiday to Seaford,and wanted to go bowling.Our first bowling alley was awful and we left very quickly and thankfully found this leisure centre. Absolutely fabulous staff,very accommodating and friendly. The facilities that we used were family friendly,clean and had a really good atmosphere,food was good too. Just wished we lived nearer to return soon!! Thank you for your hospitality.

Positive experience: 25 metre pool with beach area, wave machine and separate big curly slide. Very helpful, friendly staff, hot showers. Lovely little pool AND across the road under the bridge you can be on the shingle beach in 2 minutes.

Especially liked the wave machine and the slide and we always used to buy something from the leisure pool shop too. I think the shop is very handy and it's nice that you can have a drink or something to eat when you've finished too or if people aren't doing swimming and they're just watching
