Fantastic experience: Excellent, newly refurbished gym and friendly staff

Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre. Well equipped with modern facilities such as an updated gym, large pool, sports hall and more. The staff are friendly and welcoming and on hand to help.

Positive experience: Very dated

Negative experience: I came to visit the olympiad at 9.30am and paid for a day pass the person who served me was absolutely amazing and super helpful. After I got into the gym i got told that I needed to leave immediately because I was wearing crocs which is fine but prior to today my sister who regularly uses the gym had worn crocs before and no gym staff had ever said anything. I thought I would querie it with the reception staff and there was one young girl who was lovely and apologetic which she didn't need to be she did call the manager just so he could clarify it all as there was no explanation from the gym staff. The other person on reception with long brown hair and thick eyebrows then decides to be very rude and shouted well it is a gym. No one was talking to this girl and i dont understand why she was so rude as a customer i have every right to querie something. I was completely shocked at how rude she was and the tone she used as we was being very polite and just wanted clarification as it was one rule on one day and another for today. She shouldn't be working in a customer service role if she doesn't know how to talk to a customer. Absolutely appalling. If this is how some of the reception staff treat their customers I will not be visiting this place again.

Fantastic experience: Excellent new gym, highly recommended.

Positive experience: The Olympiad sports facilities are very good especially now the gym has been up dated. The only down side is the changing room especially the pool side ones. These really need a re vamp.

Negative experience: 01 August 2024. Very poor. The receptionist on at 14:00 was, at best, rude. Awful attitude. Needs some serious customer service training

Negative experience: This place is very dated ! I've been a couple of times with my son on a Sunday now and each time we go I get more annoyed. Today they were supposed to have fun and floats. That didn't happen for 20 minutes for the session as they clearly had no manpower. 1 life guard for just over 40 adults and kids isn't enough. After nearly 20 minutes more staff arrived but not very switched on I'm afraid. The toilets are absolutely disgusting , especially in the changing room area itself. It's a shame because the staff are great.

Positive experience: Nice pool with helpful staff. All fixtures a bit dated. Why do you still need £1 for a locker!

Negative experience: Lovely staff, but the shallow end of the pool smells awful

Positive experience: The gym is great as is the pool and different sessions they run, I just wish the jacuzzi and sauna was up and working again. But I still enjoy going always feel better afterwards

Positive experience: Its ok for lane swimming, squash and they have very helpful staff. Its definitley not as bad as some leasures centres in Bristol as other comments may suggest. And lane swimming is 1h rather than 45 min so it takes bit used to. Overall happy to give 4 stars.

Positive experience: It's looking a little tired, withe squash courts being stained/rotten in one corner, and sadly no slides since they were decommissioned a few years ago. Friendly reception staff, and it's good that we have this facility in chippenham

Positive experience: Great value and a well used centre which is easily accessed

Negative experience: The facilities are more than disgusting! The staff are very good and friendly Very strong smell of sewage in a changing area. The toilets are a bit of a hazard when you take your children to go to the toilet.

Negative experience: The team are lovely and very welcoming, but my god the facilities and the building are AWFUL. The swimming pool changing rooms are DISGUSTING and smell or urine. Sure a refurb is on the cards soon...

Fantastic experience: Decent facilities, good value for money, easy to access with plenty of parking. It is looking a little run-down these days, but you can still do everything you need here and so far I have had good experiences with the staff and not encountered anything that's actually broken, unclean, or unsafe.

Negative experience: The staff and instructors are lovely and very caring but the building is awful. I am giving it a poor score only because the studios are grimy and cold and the swimming pool is really run down and does not feel clean. The toilets smell dreadful and I already have picked up a foot infection. I've ended up paying to use a different swimming pool.It's a shame in all these years no refurbishment has been done. However the instructors are superb whatever level your ability is they make you feel really welcome and comfortable and treat you equally. The centre staff are all really kind, helpful and warm as well. The standard of instructors and staff are much higher compared to private run gyms. So I am sticking with it because the classes are good for me but I hope Wiltshire Council do upgrade the facilities as it would really attract more customers and with such good people it could be brilliant.

Positive experience: Lots of different activities!

Negative experience: Attempted a lane swim session. Way too many swimmers for a small pool with only 2 lanes open during the session. Changing area and showers were filthy. Everything stank of wee.

Negative experience: I am very impressed with the unqualified staff, especially the administrators who never know anything, the website that never works and it is impossible to book the pool, there are always problems with this center. I am so disappointed that I will never come to this center again.

Fantastic experience: Good gym, swimming pool and many other facilities too

Negative experience: Do not answer the phone and expect you to book by using the Internet

Positive experience: Big barn of a place. Looking a bit run down.

Positive experience: Barely any equipment, always having to queue for machines, junior sessions too short, receptionists (a couple of times) don't book your sessions when you ask them and they say they have.

Negative experience: The gym is constantly full of teen-agers, on their phones, not actually using the equipment but sitting on it anyway. Prepare to waste a lot of time here.

Fantastic experience: Regularly swim here, the staff are always lovely and very helpful. Pool is good, and changing rooms are usually clean. Would be nice to have more lane swimming sessions in the evenings on Tuesday/Wednesday/Saturday. :)

Fantastic experience: We came for the Christmas Parkrun. The course is interesting and the marshalls were super friendly. A really lovely event.

Positive experience: Nice pool and facilities and very close to the town centre and a good sized car park.

Positive experience: 1st visit here, not bad. Could do with more helpful signs on where to go as the receptionist actually looked bored and uninterested. Got down to the sports hall for our badminton session. Surprised at the low nets, but all functional. No working clock, but had a watch, and nobody came to turf us off when we were 5 minutes over our slot.

Fantastic experience: Good place to take the little one swimming. A shame the tubes are not there anymore.

Fantastic experience: Went to see the Mark's Big Game Show Olympics, it was very easy to access the viewing areas and overall a great event.

Negative experience: I did a teaching course here and was quite disappointed with the cleanliness. The floor was covered in hair and for the 28 hours I was there I didn't ever see anyone cleaning. Furthermore more the lifeguards where constantly slouching and leaning against the wall. Didn't feel like they where really paying attention. Would not recommend. Also the changing rooms stank of pee.

Negative experience: So the woman on the desk was amazing very polite friendly if it was a review of her Service it would be 5 stars and she is the reason it gets stars. We came here on the basis of the slides which have gone.the facilities are very dated and don't feel clean the place is very drab un appealing not really worth the travel. Slides would of made it worth it but with no slides it's just a pool. Also the booking structure is so bad so unnecessarily complicated. Service 5* pool 1* (water was a nice temp)

Positive experience: Really lovely gym, the swimming pool is beautiful and the price for a membership includes the use of a sauna too! So it's bloody well priced for what you get! Highly recommended. It's so clean too.

Positive experience: Does what it says on the tin. It's one of the better Wiltshire Council facilities, but it's still dirty, dated and tired. Despite the amount of houses being built in Wiltshire, each paying a community levy, it appears Wiltshire are not using this to upgrade community leisure facilities.

Negative experience: Swimming pool water is freezing and the changing rooms smell of urine. Staff seem friendly enough, however the amount of swimming lessons cancelled for one reason or another is ridiculous- and they still charge you for lessons they have had to cancel. Needs proper thorough cleaners, especially when in the midst of a global pandemic

Positive experience: Nice pool but the whole place is showing its age. Mens toilets in the changing room deplorable.

Positive experience: Local leisure centre with a 25-metre, 6-lane pool, a gym, badminton and squash courts and exercise classes. Convenient to get to with a large car park just outside and the station nearby. Definitely was a five-star before the council took over. Now they've changed the timetable and removed SwimTags, which makes tracking my progress much more difficult.

Fantastic experience: I have given 5 stars because I have always enjoyed the Body Balance & Yoga classes when I've attended on holiday. I love the feel of the place, its warm friendly atmosphere. I've been impressed by the children's swimming lesson which are of a high standard. I've seen uplifting gifted roller skaters enjoying themselves in the games hall & men and women thrashing out a game of squash in the squash courts. The reception staff are always lovely & helpful. I truly hope this leisure facility will be refurbished to the high standard it deserves. Its a great asset to the community. The entrance needs a makeover and I'm not happy at having to walk through a multistorey car park where youths skateboard in order to gain entry. It would be great if holiday visitors were charged a weekly fee instead of paying for individual classes :)

Fantastic experience: Teachers are amazing,my girl loves swimming here,the conditions of covid are in place,really good how they have it,spots for you to stand on to watch your children swimming,spots to stand on for distance

Positive experience: The infamous Chippenham leisure centre tries its best but is really showing its age these days. The toilets always smell strongly of urine on most floors, this problem has persisted for the 30+ years I have visited. Quite often the cleaning has let the centre down but these days seems a little better.

Fantastic experience: Have just started going to aquafit on wednesdays, great fun, lovely instructor, lovely staff, all safety rules excellent. Hoping to be referred by my doctor, so I can hopefully join and do some more classes of something else!

Fantastic experience: My first visit back to the gym since lockdown. Booked a slot via their app. Friendly staff as always. Social distancing means there are limited machines available. Enough to still get a good workout. Plenty of cleaning stuff to wipe over machines after use. Made me feel happy to return.

Positive experience: Friendly and helpful staff, slightly outdated equipment in gym but it does the job. Nice clean pool and changing areas.

Negative experience: Over priced , pool only open to public swim a couple of hours a day , sauna / steam room on different level forcing you to either change or walk up stairs in bathing costume , and at £8;50 massively overpriced

Negative experience: filthy place, changing rooms in disrepair, broken ceilings, floors with years of grime. very poorly managed, poorly maintained.

Negative experience: Not impressed with pool facilities, no room to swim, do yourself a favour and go to corsham or Calne if you want to swim

Negative experience: Rather random customer service. It happened more than twice now that, after booking online to play Squash or Badminton with my son, we have had to wait for the net to be setup (Badminton) or reception never knows which Squash court we are on. Hence we have ended up losing at least 5 minutes of annoying waiting times. Added to this we have to pay for the car park and Badminton is more expensive than in Malmesbury.

Positive experience: Needs a refurbishment dated equipment

Negative experience: Not impressed with lack of way to get down stairs to reception if you have limited ability. I wouldn't go here as would find stairs too difficult

Positive experience: Use this gym very regularly for 3+. Under the new management of Wiltshire Council with the hope of much needed investment in equipment. Staff are professional and helpful with the exception of one aging personal trainer with obvious mental health issues. Overall though a great place to get fit and have fun.

Fantastic experience: Go here everyday , £31 for access of all facilities which is worth the money . Only negative is that the swimming pool only has certain times where it is available
