Negative experience: Kept upping the prices for a gym which gets dirtier and dirtier and a pool unusable alot of the time because of clubs. They’ve also taken an extra DD after the cancellation period and won’t respond

Negative experience: I joined a week ago and cancelled my membership today, after coming a few times. The treadmills are nice but the gym is just overrun and not a place I enjoy coming to. Gym smells like marijuana which is unpleasant during a workout and is generally stuffy. Also the bathroom and changing rooms are covered in flies, which is kinda gross. I’m not very picky when it comes to gyms but this is just not worth the money. I’d suggest only joining if you come at off peak hours and get in and out as quickly as possible. An update is a picture of how dirty the gym is. Not sure when/if it has ever been cleaned. There is also brown stuff on the floor of the changing room, which I’d rather not know what it is. Whoever is managing this place should be ashamed.

Negative experience: The gym has a lot of potential but it needs more work. It has too many machines which take up way too much room, it would benefit from less machines and more cardio equipment and more free weights areas. It is almost always full and I think this is made worse by people mostly waiting to use the same equipment. Also many people leave their coats on the gym floor rather than the changing room which is annoying. Its not dirty but it doesn't feel clean either - everything feels old and the changing rooms are always damp and slightly gross. The swimming changing rooms smell. If you can come at very off peak times, just use the gym andeave it's fine, but overall not a gym you look forward to going to.

Negative experience: It’s a bit like the council-run centres of yesteryear, but without the affordability. Constant price increases with zero quality improvements. Soft play seems the current cash cow to milk to death. Latest decision to ban own food at birthday hires is foolish. We’re cancelling our membership.

Negative experience: Arrived 15min earlier than our session on 27th Dec. It was almost empty however they made us to wait outside for 15 min with 2 babies and 2 children until our session starts. They would not give us 15 min early although we offered to pay. Very disappointed ☹️

Negative experience: It is a really dirty gym with equally dirty facilities. It is constantly filled out with teens who don't have a clue what they are doing and are hogging the equipment and hang out together in groups without actually using the gym equipment. It is not a nice place to train at and there is no atmosphere. Only convenience is the location and prices are fair.

Fantastic experience: I would like to leave some feedback to one of the workers at my time active, honourable shout out to Dani who always goes above and beyond with her job. I always see her friendly to everyone that comes into the gym and always helps out when seeking help with the equipment.

Negative experience: I'm not sure how else to try to effect change other than to publicly shame Mytime Active here - emails sent direct to the management and the submission of countless suggestion forms have made absolutely no difference! You need to heed your customers - your wet-side changing rooms are absolutely filthy, as so many reviews here attest. A fortune has been spent on another gym upgrade and monthly membership has increased again, and yet swimmers are being treated like second-class citizens. Were it not for your excellent aqua fit teachers, I'd take my custom elsewhere. Stop expecting your young lifeguards to do the job of professional cleaners and let them concentrate on the job they're trained to do!

Positive experience: Today went to spa Beckenham no problem to start with but i booked lane swimming and as i go in the close 2 lanes only one left so all fast slow and medium swimmer in one lane averyone get annoyed but what poor management. And when i go to reception they tell me nothing can be done about it , i only done 15 min no refund no apologise !! really poor costumer care

Negative experience: Children's soft play - absolutely filthy toilets, before I even changed my baby in the changing room I had to use wipes to wipe down the place as it was filled with dust and dirt, and shockingly dirty loos. This was only 11am in the morning! I took an older child to the other toilet and had to wipe down the toilet, sink etc before she could even use the loos. It is evident it hadn't been wiped down in some time. These are areas where young children are using that should really have regular cleaning taking place. Balls and play equipment sticky and dirty, was a real shame as had great times in there years ago. I know parents are supposed to watch their children but really should have another adult monitoring the 3 years old and below section as older children using that area and playing in a way that is unsafe around the babies and younger children with parents not watching- this is a parent problem but maybe a nudge to remind others it's for the younger ones as I couldn't even have my baby play. I won't be in a rush to go back which is a absolute shame.

Negative experience: I am a regular user, the staff are pleasant but the cleanliness of the pool changing area has deteriorated. Two of the women's toilets are currently out of order and a third was too soiled to use yesterday. A bloody, used wound dressing and dirty knickers in changing room. It's not pleasant. More thorough and regular cleaning and maintenance is urgently needed. It's a shame

Negative experience: The gym is often crowded with individuals who do not engage in physical training but rather occupy the machines while using their mobile devices. The weights are frequently left loaded, particularly on the leg press and Smith machine, with little consideration for female users who may require lighter weights. Despite recent renovations, the gym's conditions have not improved, leading to disappointment and frustration and also some of the most effective machine are missing , it's a shame that the gym does not have a hack squat machine , lying leg curl machine and also no calves machine at all.

Negative experience: I only go to this gym because there aren't any other affordable gyms in beckenham, and this gym isn't even affordable. Always too busy since the closure of West Wickham gym, even on weekdays during the day. It is near impossible to do a full workout without having to skip a part of the routine due to machines being unavailable. The cleanliness of the gym is awful. The toilets and changing rooms are absolutely vile, and the gym itself feels grimey. Staff at reception are off-putting, I was followed into the gym (after having begun my workout) by a member of staff who insisted I hadn't scanned my membership card and needed to go back out and scan my card again. Hopefully, another gym opens in the area so I can stop wasting my money on sub-par workouts and terrible facilities.

Fantastic experience: # Review of Joe from myActive at reception I recently had the pleasure of working with Joe, in-front of the reception at the swimming center, while trying to change my 6 years old daughter's swimming lesson. From the moment I approached him, Joe displayed remarkable patience and professionalism. He took the time to explain the process thoroughly, ensuring I understood every detail about the system and the swimming lesson options available. His knowledge about the swimming licenses was particularly impressive, as he answered all my questions without any loss of clarity. Additionally, Joe is helping me set up the web portal, which will allow me to manage my daughter's lessons more conveniently in the future. His assistance in this area has been invaluable, making the transition to online management much smoother. Overall, Joe's dedication to customer service and his expertise made my experience extremely positive. Positive experience: My usual pool is closed for return so I decided to give Spa a try. The pool is great but the changing rooms and showers are very old and outdated. They also aren’t clean the floors are grim. Also disappointed that there’s no locker token machine as I don’t carry cash with me.

Negative experience: I’m a member and use gym facilities which I enjoy and are sufficient for me. Gym changing rooms are nasty so I don’t use. However took my four year old son swimming this week and the changing rooms for swimming were absolutely disgusting with drain flies and black grime everywhere. Two days later and my son has diarrhoea, which we think has most likely come from swimming! Really shocked as I remember the pool previously being very clean. Please get new cleaning staff.

Negative experience: Sick and tired of turning up to go swimming just to be told the pool isn't open, or there are swimming lessons, or a swim gala despite the pool timetable saying they're open. That fact that most weekdays lane swimming is at 3pm or 9-10pm is an insult to adults who pay their membership just to have swim hours cut to one session outside of work hours. Cancelled my membership and will be finding somewhere else who values their members money. Look at today - 7 hours of swimming lessons ! What about members who pay to use your pool or do you just not care?

Positive experience: Nice place, good facilities and staff and fairly priced but the cleaning staff are just worthless. Visible old grime and filth cover the swimming pool changing rooms and make it an unpleasant experience. A few years ago it was pretty immaculate. Change your cleaning company and it would be at least 4 stars.

Negative experience: Changing rooms for the swimming pool are filthy, and the air conditioning in both levels of the gym are constantly broken (or never turned on) - so it's very hot in there. Machines/equipment are constantly broken, with seemingly very little being done to fix them in a timely manner. As an example, the only preacher curl bench in the upstairs gym has been out of action for months. Prices increase every year without fail, but not sure how these price increases are justified given the filthy/broken facilities.

Negative experience: Gym: Only one barbell bench available. Barely any air conditioning upstairs, have felt nauseous before because of this. Always busy unless you go super off peak, you are lucky if you get a free bench upstairs. Mytime active gyms have always been sub par, it seems like they don’t care.

Negative experience: My daughter is doing swimming lessons here. Yesterday she had her first lesson in stage 5. She went from one teacher doing half lengths against the wall in the shallow end, to a new teacher asking her to jump into the deep end and do two full lengths in the centre of the pool. On her second length, she was struggling, and the teacher was chatting and laughing with someone and not looking at the water, and the life guard wasn’t on her seat, and was walking along the side, looking away from the water. Obviously went down the pool side and help, but I could not believe the lack of health and safety. We usually go to the West Wickham one, but that is closed at the moment for safety reasons and all classes are moved to the Spa in beckenham. It is overcrowded and hazardous.

Negative experience: It is disheartening to observe individuals disregarding the needs of others who are waiting to use the exercise equipment. While waiting, it would be more considerate to focus on the workout rather than being engrossed in one's phone. Perhaps a policy could be implemented to encourage responsible usage of phones in the fitness area.

Negative experience: So unbelievably dirty. Floor in the pool changing rooms is revolting as people don’t remove their shoes, but the changing rooms and showers are also filthy and covered in dust. Flies in the showers! These photos are a good representation of the level of cleanliness each week unfortunately. My Time Active are not taking care of the place.

Negative experience: I went back here for the first time in a while recently for swimming, and all I can say is I am genuinely SHOCKED at just how filthy and mismanaged it is. The changing rooms / showers / toilets are VILE, visible dirty puddles and hair all over the floor, broken showers, broken doors, broken soap dispensers, blocked loos. It’s a genuine hygiene hazard and thinking about all those germs being carried into the pool makes me feel quite ill to be honest. You can physically see the grime at the bottom of the pool. And I was barely able to swim at all, as only two swimming lanes were open and both were completely rammed with people. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of them didn’t book a slot, as no one ever checks and you can seem to walk straight through. So you’re left paddling almost completely still trying not to crash into any of the thirty other odd adults in the lane. Avoid avoid avoid. This place should be shut down honestly.

Negative experience: *For the gym only* 2 stars is feeling generous to be honest. Those 2 are for the nice staff, especially the women at the front desks who help with memberships etc, and a couple of the gym 'staff' PTs who give a smile. The reasons it's no way near 5 stars or worth £40+ a month: - Not cleaned regularly OR thoroughly enough. For a gym that isn't open 24 hours a day that's pretty shocking. Old fluff, grime, smells on all machines and facilities. - Totally over crowded with young (sometimes about 11 yrs old looking boys) 'members' who treat it like a youth club and head in in groups, hogging machines, chatting going on their phones for ages - Absolutely no attempt at keeping the hours outside the younguns allocated time monitored aka, more and more since June '23 they're filling the place all through the evening from 2/3pm+ - The staff don't support people other than their PT clients - The mentioned younguns are at risk of hurting themselves when they're barely developed and struggling with big weights, not knowing what they're doing - The general etiquette - adults included - is way off - Gyms a mess with weights left everywhere to trip on and you have to weave around them or search for plates that should be racked. I can't pin that JUST on the young ones, some adults do it too. My partner left to go to one much more expensive just to get away When I cancelled my membership in person, the lady took the form to over explain the process and while she did, she ticked boxes for me to answer "are you going to a different gym?" (She put 'no') & "Would you use a Mytime Active gym again?" (She put 'yes') ... Cheeky ! Completely answering for me and both answers are 100% wrong. Yes we did put in a complaint explaining these issues, twice. But seems there's literally no manager or adult wanting to step up and get the place feeling like grown people work and go there . Negative experience: This gym is constantly filthy. I do not know who is in charge of this place but it really is revolting. I feel uncomfortable using the pool and the changing rooms because of this. The place needs a thorough deep clean and for that to be a regular thing. It really is horrific.

Negative experience: Don't bother for swimming - the place is a shambles. Generally dirty/tired changing rooms and lockers are one thing, but their online timetable is out of sync/wrong. When I reported this again to the front desk I was met with a blank stare and a "we don't do that on site" Sadly another under-funded public pool What good is a timetable that you can't update at your reception desk? Twice now this has happened, you can't call in advance either to check as nobody here answers the phone. I was refunded my swim, but obviously not my parking. Won't be visiting again

Negative experience: Pool changing area very dirty. Health hazard ? The Spa has removed the blue over shoes - and I get the environmental concerns around waste plastic. But there is no enforcement of the removal of outdoor shoes, and no regular cleaning. So the vast majority of user just walk in with their dirty street shoes and then swimmers walk that dirt into the pool. Was actually muddy everywhere today , not a cleaner in sight. Get someone by the pool door reminding everyone to take their shoes off, not rocket science!

Negative experience: The prices for the softplay have increased more than £2 per session since 2022. A session for a 5 year old for 90 minutes is now almost £10. Nowhere and I mean nowhere is charging this amount in the London area. This place is absolutely filthy from the actual play area to the toilets. Disgusting . For the new price you would expect it to be clean and well maintained won't be returning.

Negative experience: First time taking my baby swimming today at the family splash lesson. We had to get out the pool early because the water was so cold it turned my baby's lip blue. And she was shivering. Reported it to the receptionist who said water should have been 31 degrees. But it definitely wasn't - im hoping she will report that to the appropriate people. As the babies need warmth especially coming in from the frost outside to a swimming pool. Changing rooms are very grubby and sticky! I signed up for the weekly sessions at family splash but after today's experience I will cancel that membership.

Negative experience: New gym upgrade last week and already many machines out of service. Today i witnessed young teenagers messing around with heavy weights with not a gym instructor or member of staff insight to correct or guide them. Very unsafe. Swimming lessons here are terrible. Instructors seem to pay little to no attention to students. Way too many children in each lane. Not worth the money!

Negative experience: The only professional swimming instructor we ever had for our daughter was Sarah at West Wickham. The instructors at Beckenham are late, unprofessional and snappy towards children and should not be teaching 4 year olds.

Negative experience: I have been using this gym for awhile now, but I've noticed over the last few months or so, that some of the equipment I use, has had out of order signs placed on them. This number increased greatly and within a very short period of time and some has been fixed, but it took 2 weeks to do this, but others, especially nearly half the running machines are out of action. Some of the machines have little pull-stops, which you push in or out to increase or decrease the resistance and these are not replaced at all. The male locker room has well over half the lockers not being used, as they are locked all the time, with no sign of the keys. So when it's busy, people are scrabbling round for a locker, then having no option, but to take their bags into the gym with them. The gym staff are great, but when asked about the broken machines, they said they were kept in the dark and there was a new manager. My test of somewhere is would I recommend it to a friend and I'm afraid to say, at the moment, that's a big no.

Negative experience: As a new member I feel disappointed at the level of customer service received whilst visiting the soft play with my grandson yesterday. I wanted to buy him lunch and asked the assistant if there were any cheese sandwiches available as he didn't like ham. I was told no they didn't have any. As it was lunch time we wandered upstairs to the cafe next to pool area where the fridge was full of children's cheese sandwiches. It appeared the two assistants that sat behind the counter on their phones didn't want to help. No wonder everyone else had brought a packed lunch which I will also be doing in future. Your missing out here!

Negative experience: After being a member here for a while, I have simply had enough. I pay a membership fee, and therefore expect to be able to properly access the services. Not here. More and more of the swimming timetable, outside of when actual adults have to work, (I.e evenings) is being carved off and monopolised by swimming clubs, meaning the hours that actual adult members of the public can access the pool is vanishingly small. It is therefore terrible value for money and just not worth it for adults, if what you want to do is swim. I finally had enough when this evening, with no warning I was told to had to get out of the pool 15mins before end the very rare evening session open to the general public because "the rule that the new manager has put in saying that when the clubs are coming in they have to get people out of the pool 15mins earlier". If I had paid the £9 non-member cost for the hour session I would have been demanding a refund. Mytime Active is failing its customers. You'll be losing my custom as soon as I am able to cancel my membership.

Negative experience: Please be careful here. My daughter's entire bag was stolen whilst she was swimming. She was left with no clothes and no belongings. Management were completely dismissive, raised no alerts to the theft and didn't call the police until I got there and insisted they did so. My daughter had to use someone elses phone to call me to bring her some clothes as she had nothing but a swimming costume, and Management/ staff did nothing to assist or help her. They were nonchalant and would not even review the footage. Nor have they provided this to the police subsequently. Please take care when using the mixed gendet changing rooms as security is not a priority here and incidents are not dealth with with any urgency or courtesy to the victim. Criminals know this place is an easy target as nothing will be done in consequence. Even on a human level, support and help was shocking.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Chaiya Namasa, my 1-to-1 Muay Thai personal trainer at Mytime Active in Beckenham. When I started my fitness journey, we initially focused on weight workouts. However, as soon as I expressed my desire to switch to Muay Thai, Chaiya was not only accommodating but also enthusiastic about the change. His dedication to my goals was evident from day one. Chaiya helped me get in shape, but more than that, he held me accountable for my training, which I really needed, and he was a big part of getting over my gym fear. Chaiya Namasa has truly been a game changer in my training and weight loss journey. His passion for Muay Thai, his commitment to his clients, and his ability to build confidence are unparalleled, his training is the reason why I decided to stay as a member of this gym. Negative experience: Used to be a member here few years ago and left due to poor hygiene. Visited recently with hope of renewing my membership and left promptly due to dirty walls in changing rooms, white tiles have grime on top of grime at the bottom including the swimming pool showers. Gym toilet had a streak of greasy oil running down the door and stains all over the floors. I cannot understand why is it so hard to hire a cleaning company to maintain a good hygiene regime... On the plus side the staff seem very nice, the pool is of good size and the gym seems very well equipped surrounded by multiple studio rooms.

Negative experience: I've been looking around at gyms to join within the area and was so disappointed with this gym. The actual gym and equipment looked decent however the gym was ridiculously dirty. As many reviews here have stated it is filthy to the point that I sanitised the minute I left. It feels so grimy and clearly hasn't had a full clean for a long while. Even the mirrors and glass on the doors had streaks of grime on them. It's such a shame as the gym itself is nice but so so dirty. You will continue to loose members if you don't address this.

Negative experience: Things seem to be getting worse at the Spa. The kids swimming lessons are shambolic. Frequently cancelled and rarely the same swimming teacher for more than a couple of weeks. My child has made little progress since moving to Stage 2 nearly 12 months ago. The changing rooms are usually quite messy and not particularly clean. The cafe doesn't open until 09:00 so those who have lessons at 08:00 can't even get a drink. Unfortunately there seem to be very few alternatives for kids swimming lessons in the area! Paid for parking and very little provision for those who want to cycle.

Negative experience: Gym is absolutely filthy - particularly in front of the treadmills - caked with dust & dirt. There’s some kind of human secretion on the wall by the last treadmill on the right - it’s been there for almost a year. Black mould on some of the windows. Disgusting. Negative experience: My son’s swimming lessons were cancelled 3-4 months ago but I am still being charged! I’ve tried to get him into another class with zero success and I am still being charged £33 a month. Please can you stop charging me and issue me a refund for the past few months. I will then consider updating my review as I’m actually happy with the pool and facilities.

Negative experience: I am writing this review to express my absolute dissatisfaction with the level of service and cleanliness at the "The Spa at Beckenham by Mytime Active." It deeply saddens me to report that my experience has been far below satisfactory. First and foremost, the cleanliness of the pool is alarming. As a member, I expect and demand the highest standard of hygiene and maintenance, but it's quite apparent that such standard is not met at this center. The pool is exceedingly unclean, with the water looking murky and undesirable. This lack of cleanliness not only detracts from the enjoyment of the facilities but also raises serious health and safety concerns. Secondly, the process of cancelling a membership is outdated and cumbersome. In this age of technological advancement, it is ludicrous that I was required to physically visit the center to fill out a form to cancel my membership. It appears that the center is purposely making this process difficult and inconvenient in hopes that members would rather continue paying than go through the rigmarole of cancelling. Even more disappointing, they had previously offered an online cancellation option, but have recently removed it, leaving us with no other choice but to comply with their tedious process. The move seems less about service and more about making it unnecessarily complicated for members to leave. Lastly, the way the center handles billing and refunds is highly unacceptable. They withdrew the membership fee from my account on 3rd of July 2023, and I canceled my membership on the 6th. I was expecting a prorated refund for the unused part of the month, which is a standard practice in most reputable institutions. But, to my dismay, they refused to issue a refund, suggesting instead that I continue using the facilities until the end of July. I find this attitude towards a legitimate request for a refund unacceptable. The center appears to show complete disregard for fair business practices and a shocking lack of respect for the rights of its members. In conclusion, my experience with the "The Spa at Beckenham by Mytime Active" has been entirely unpleasant. The unclean state of the facilities, the backward cancellation procedure, and the refusal to issue a rightful refund has left a sour taste in my mouth. I strongly urge anyone considering membership at this center to reconsider their decision.

Negative experience: Careful with this fraud gym. Cancelled our membership on May, they responded via email that May will be our last payment. Still got charged in June and July. Contacted them to ask for a refund and it is still getting processed. Their customer service is ridiculous, we have to escalate this with our bank.

Negative experience: £8.19 for a 1 hour adult swim?!? So much for MyTime active being a social enterprise. At that price it feels more like a scamming enterprise, given most public pools in other London boroughs are priced around £5. Membership doesn’t make sense for everyone, but neither does £8.19 - they are out of their minds!

Negative experience: Ridiculously expensive for what the gym is, really small and not much equipment - and the swimming pool is always dirty and uninviting And to top it off, last time I went in there was a random street cat in the there! Talk about unhygienic! As soon as I saw that I cancelled my membership, would not recommend to anyone.

Positive experience: It's a well equipped leisure centre with swimming pool, gym, soft play area for kids and an on-site cafe. The downside however is that you have to pay for parking unless you are a blue badge holder.

Negative experience: At the point of entering the changing rooms for the pool, you could just smell toilets and drains as we entered the smell continue through to the pool area. Once in the pool, the smell disappeared, but then you got to see all the grime at the bottom of the pool, indicating the pumps aren't qorking or they dont clean the floor of the pool. We paid for the family splash and was told to vacate the pool area due to aqua. So we got less than 40 mins of family splash. Had we been told at the time of paying, we only had 30 mins due to Aqua, we would have done something else and defo gone elsewhere.

Negative experience: Filthy, showers are exposed to cold, you would end up with flu if you use this facility. Its probably the worst place in South London. Its a shame its in Beckenham

Negative experience: You book to do Lane swimming but there are so many people crammed into two lanes it's impossible to swim continuously enough to feel like you're getting exercise. They are either over booking or not bothering to check who is swimming in the lanes. Its frustrating.

Negative experience: To the soft play, even if we have membership, they ask for each adults for each session to pay an extra fee, explain me how one kid con come by him self, it's just ridiculous, I would understand if one kid come with both parents but with one, that's ridiculous. we will cancel our membership today as we can go to many others.

Positive experience: Decent leisure center, the gym is pretty standard. Sadly the free weights area is usually too busy to utilise. But downstairs cardio area is pretty well equipped.

Negative experience: My review is about the kids swimming classes. My kid goes there for quite some time. It's a hit and miss. Some coaches won't even bother to get into the water. As I write this review I see my 5 year old struggling with his back stroke, drinking lots of water, but the coach just gives instructions from outside the pool. She is actually drying her hair at the same time (because the moment the class is over she needs to head off). So it's all up to natural evolution: If your kid is good , all fine, if she/he struggles in certain areas don't expect much help.

Negative experience: Awful, awful gym! If I could give 0 stars I would! Standard membership is £48 a month, so you'd expect a minimum level of decency, compared to low cost gyms, but it's the total opposite. The gym, toilets, changing rooms and showers are dirty. The reception staff is unable to answer any question more complex than what's the time. Management is appallingly rude, and displays a very unpleasant attitude as soon as you approach them to speak, as if they're already bothered you want to speak to them. If you email them, asthey often advise you to do, they never answer. This place doesn't know the concept of customer service! I got a way better service in Puregym when I paid £25 a month. If you can go to another gym, don't go here!

Negative experience: On arrival the staff on reception were covered in blankets, and shaking, heat wasn't on,l as far as I could tell. Changing facilities werent great limited family/disabled cubicles. The staff in the cafe..... where do I start... rude unhelpful too busy chatting ..... so busy chatting a customer had to knock on the kitchen door to get services. "Hot drinks" where laugherable.... any colder ice cubes wouldn't melt and trying to get a refund after tryibg yo get the staffs attention for 10 min was ridiculous! Staff getting their supervisor for them to have to get another supervisor for a £3 refund ‍♀️

Negative experience: I’ve just gone to book swimming and it’s gone from £6.30 for 1 hour which is already expensive, to £7.65! Absolutely extortionate. How can you make that jump and charge that much for 1 hour of general swimming, further putting pressure on peoples finances during the cost of living crisis everyone is facing at the moment. Goes to show the lack of care for long term customers & the pure exploitive money grabbing attitude you have. If anything companies should be reducing prices & be less profit focused during these difficult times, that would show members you care & ironically enough probably increase your profits. Me, my family & my friends will not be paying this.

Fantastic experience: Used to use the soft play regularly for my nephew, just went back for the first time post covid with my own little boy (15 months old) and he loved it. Was totally knackered by the end of it, discovered the wonder of diving head first down the slide.

Fantastic experience: I used to go to The Spa at Beckenham, the classes were fantastic Louis and Jo were great, I moved home so I am not sure if they are still there but they were great. My children enjoy swimming lessons and playing in the play area.

Positive experience: Just joined 10 Aug 2022. Very helpful, positive and clearly sporty people on Reception. Very encouraging trainers. Wish yoga wouldn't flipping fill up years in advance so newbies can't book and can only wait sadly outside the class for cancellations. (October edit: the most helpful and quick IT helpdesk fixed my app so I dont pay to book jownim a member. Ive also submitted a suggestion to create a virtual waiting list for classes that are full so that mught help. There is also a new message on the app to 'watch out for cancellations' which I've been doing and have been able to book some one-off classes that way.) The booking system on the mytime active app is informative about how many places are left in other classes - of which there is a huge variety - so maybe I'll do one of them, just really slowly and pretend it's yoga. Really enjoying the e-gym, can't wait to try swimming and generally very glad fitness is back in my life. (Personal trainer inductions great value and v motivating.)

Negative experience: i’ve been here twice (first time i left because it was too crowded) ,most staff are rude and unhelpful,toilets/changing rooms are so bad , some life guards are too entitled, swimming pool is cloudy,salty,and i could see tissue and hair !

Negative experience: I attended a swimming session here with a friend. This has to be the worst swimming facility I have ever visited. The changing rooms are unisex (I have no problem with that) and were 50/50 meaning some parts were clean and some parts just dirty. The pool water doesn’t seem to be maintained well as the water was very cloudy and I came across a lot of hair whilst swimming. I also noticed algae growing on the poolside. If you are someone with a phobia of wet floor I would not recommend attending here.

Positive experience: High cost for use of a gym which is in need of modernisation, a reworked layout and more equipment such as more than one bench press etc. Can be really off putting at rush hour. Music is often a radio station, not exactly the most motivating to hear adverts and people talking about the weather.. staff are friendly and helpful, facilities need investment.

Negative experience: Very dirty flooring no infant/toddler friendly as the lowest point of water is 1m so toddlers can't sit and play.. changing rooms was apulin. Would not recommend on the kids behalf

Positive experience: Love the pool, always warm and the aqua aerobic class is great. However, showers are not kept clean and often no toilet rolls in the ladies.

Positive experience: Water cold, changing rooms freezing,this is why so many people have stopped going. Sue who takes aqua classes is fantastic,best instructor there,classes are fun,varied from week to week,,. Music just right for the age group(not rap music) Everyone enjoys her happy class.

Positive experience: Good local pool and leisure centre. The kids love the soft play. Only downside is the pool isn't more fun. The area good really do with a nicer leisure pool with slides etc

Fantastic experience: So the cafe and changing rooms are rather basic but...the pilates, yoga & pool are great. A fraction of what David Lloyd et al charge. The parking charges are reasonable (plus some of the nearby streets are free in the evenings and on Sundays). The staff are really friendly & welcoming.
